TEAM YANKEE: COUNTER ATTACK*
*
Teams Yankee/Bravo, C & D Co.s*
________________vs.*
______Soviet Tank Company*
*
Date: Aug 10, 1987*
Location: Nebal Valley, E.Ger.*
*
(See special note at bottom before playing.)*
*
The Polish attempt to close the breech in their lines at the last
moment caused a halt to the attack of U.S. battalion through the
Nebal Valley.*
*
After a an hour or two to re-organize, the battalion sets off again
through the Nebal Valley. The two Teams are pressing hard to make
up for the lost time and the two mechanized infantry companies are
lagging behind the fast moving Teams.*
*
Keep your armored Teams moving forward and keep pushing your Mech
companies to catch up. Don't let your armor loiter. The tracks will
have to catch up when you engage the enemy. Make all due speed to
get clear of the Nebal Valley. You still have West German and U.S.
artillery support on call.*
*
Based on the Harold Coyle book "Team Yankee".*
*
(Special note: While this scenario plays reasonably well at the default
preference settings I STRONGLY recommend that Team Yankee scenarios be
played with altered PREFENCE settings. To compensate for the "dumb" AI
SP2 possesses and to give the Soviets a fighting chance the human player
should set the PREFERENCES to the following:*
*
US Forces*
---------*
Searching 70-90*
Hitting 70*
Route/Rally 100*
Troop Quality 100*
Tank Toughness 100*
Infantry Toughness 100*
*
Soviet Forces*
-------------*
Searching 200*
Hitting 90*
Route/Rally 110*
Troop Quality 105*
Tank Toughness 130*
Infantry Toughness 120*
*
These settings appear to be lopsided in favor of the
Soviet forces, but after playtesting with these
settings many times they don't really give the Soviet
side much of a advantage. It just gives them a
better chance of surviving for the sake of the battle.*
*
If you play Team Yankee versus human opponents all
settings should be set to 100 or whatever you agree
to with your opponent.*
*
At present all Team Yankee scenarios should use the
above settings. This scenario does play fairly well
with all settings at 100.)*
