The attacks of the North Korean People's Army have been brought to a halt. Allied forces have begun limited counter-attacks in preparation for an all-out offensive. American 2nd Infantry Division forces have destroyed the maneuver elements of several North Korean divisions and driven deep into the enemy rear area.*
*
Cold Steel troopers are ordered to exploit this success by securing a series of villages directly on the path to an enemy artillery park. These villages protect strong SAM and anti-air defenses. By destroying these units, Cold Steel troopers will open the way for a strong deep strike package consisting of Apache helicopters.*
*
The Apache is a well-protected gunship but like all helicopters it is vulnerable to ground fire from SAM's and AAA as well as small arms fire.*
*
During Operation Iraqi Freedom, a deep shaping attack by Apaches was caught in a classic helicopter ambush. The ferocity of the fires damaged ninety percent of the attacking helicopters and one helicopter crew was captured. It is essential for Cold Steel troopers to secure the villages before sending in the helicopter forces.*
*
A pair of scout helicopters has been provided. Given the strong AAA defenses of the villages, great care should be exercised when using these helicopters.*
*
The Apache gunship strike package will arrive on turn 30.*
