Cold Steel:*
Final Offensive*
*
March 2006*
Imjin River, Korea*
Assault*
*
A spearhead from the 4th Infantry Division (Ivy) has deeply penetrated North Korean lines and reached the Imjin River. Unfortunately, enemy forces have counterattacked and closed off the main supply route to the division.*
*
Cold Steel troopers are ordered to break through strong North Korean defensive lines and come to the aid of the cut-off division. The enemy forces consist of several battalions of infantry with interspersed bunker and armor support behind a thick bed of mines.*
*
The 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team is not strong enough to fight through by itself. Both groups will need to cooperate to penetrate the enemy lines. The 172nd SBCT should drive east while Team Ivy will drive west to meet at a spur of the Imjin River.*
*
Once the forces have joined and resupplied, the second part of the operation will commence. The combined task force is ordered to use the supplied barges to cross the Imjin River. After the Imjin River is crossed, expect a strong counterattack by the North Korean armored reserve consisting of two battalions of T-80 tanks.*
*
Attached units include a platoon of combat engineers and two Kiowa scout helicopters. In addition, strong artillery support is available to suppress the enemy infantry during breaching operations.*
*
The defeat of the North Korean armored reserve will break the back of the remaining North Korean forces and destroy the ability of the North Korean army to conduct offensive operations.*
*
Marginal or Decisive Victory is necessary to win.*
*
Note: this is the last scenario.*
