Polish 7.92mm wz.35 Ur AT-rifle was designed by*
J. Maroszek in 1935. The design code name "Uruguay",*
in short "Ur" was to keep the weapon in secret,*
suggesting export purpose. *
*
It fired a coreless lead bullet, but an increased*
propellant of a big case and a very long barrel*
gave the bullet a great velocity. It was a very*
efficient weapon as for 1939 standards and could*
pierce 33mm of armor, breaking a 20mm hole in it. *
*
The production is unknown, but it was between 3,500*
and 7,000 rifles. It was a top secret weapon, issued*
in closed boxes from April 1939, one to each infantry*
platoon or cavalry platoon. Many units used their*
AT-rifles efficiently against German tanks.*
