75 mm wz.02/26 gun was a Russian 3in (76mm) M1902*
field gun, captured and converted by the Poles in*
1926 for French 75mm ammo of wz.1897 guns.*

They were used among others as infantry guns in*
two-gun platoons in each regular Infantry Regiment.*
Their primary purpose was to provide the infantry*
with a direct support. Despite they were heavier,*
then typical infantry guns, they had longer barrels*
(L/30) and as a result, offered greater range.*

These guns were also used in eleven Mounted*
Artillery Detachments of Cavalry Brigades.* 
446 guns were available in 1939, 186 of which in*
the infantry.*

A small number of original 76.2 mm wz.1902 guns*
remained in Polish service (89). They were used*
in two-gun positional artillery platoons, *
one gun was present at Westerplatte transit depot*
in Danzig.*
