The wz.28 (1928 Pattern) armoured half-track car*
was a Polish design, constructed upon French Citroen*
-Kegresse B10 chassis. A series of 90 cars was*
completed in 1927-1930.*
*
Early cars had wide hull with vertical rear plate,*
then an improved shape of a narrow hull with sloped*
rear plate was developed.*
About 1/3 of wz.28 cars were armed with 37mm SA-18*
Puteaux L/21 gun, the rest had one 7.92mm MG only.*
*
The half-track drive didn't fulfill expectations,*
maximum speed was low (30 km/h) and off-road*
capabilities weren't outstanding. Therefore, it was*
decided to convert them into all-wheeled vehicles,*
and in 1934-1938 almost all were rebuilt to wheeled*
wz.34 armored cars.*
*
Three wz.28 cars were reportedly still used for*
training, and saw combat in an improvised troop in*
september 1939.*
