The LWS-3 Mewa ('Gull') was the Polish prototype of*
a modern army cooperation (observation and liaison)*
plane, manufactured in LWS factory in Lublin.*
It first flew in 1938. It was to be a successor for*
the Lublin R-XIII and LWS (RWD-14b) Czapla.*

The first series of 30 was only in production, when*
the war broke out. Five aircaft were completed*
during hostilities in September 1939 and used as a*
replenishment in observation escadres.*

Max speed was 360 km/h.*
