A number of British PIAT anti-tank projectors was*
delivered to Polish underground Home Army (AK) via*
aerial dropping. Delivery flights to Poland were*
especially difficult, lasting up to eleven hours,*
but this way the Home Army was supplied with vitally*
needed anti-tank weapons. *
*
PIATs were actively used in street fighting during*
the Warsaw Uprising in August-September 1944, being*
one of few efficient insurgent anti-tank means.*
