Poland had no marines as such, but in interwar period there were created two Marine Rifle Battalions, being infantry units deployed
and trained to defend Polish coast.*

*

*
Along with Marine Rifle Regiments, there fought Marine Brigade of National Defence (Morska Brygada Obrony Narodowej), Border Guards (Straz Graniczna), seamen, volunteers and other units.*
*
Fortified Hel peninsula was defended by a battalion of KOP (Border Defence Corps), seamen, Border Guards, and held until 2 October 1939.*
