Act 2, Scenario 2
"Hoehe 14.1"*
25th August, 1942*
23. Panzer-Division*
Near Prokhladny, Caucasus region*
*
*
The last weeks have been very frustrating: All our attempts to cross the Baksan river have failed in the face of determined Soviet resistance.
Thus we will have to secure the bridge over the Terek river in the town of Prokhladny. This crossing is heavily defended by Soviet Paratroopers and Infantry.
*
*
The terrain is very flat, with the exception of hill 14.1, a low rise in the ground north west of the town. Bringing our artillery into position here would allow us to effectively support our attack.
*
*
Intelligence: Tanks and paratroopers from the 10th Guards Rifle Corps are defending the hill. Additionally, some of the stragglers that escaped our grasp two weeks ago have taken up positions in the area as well. They had no time to dig in, but the open terrain is completely overlooked by this position. Try to find a covered route somewhere.
*
*
Objectives: Capture the hill. If you manage to do it, you will receive additional artillery support for the assault on Prokhladny.*
