Wuerselen*
*
This morning we will start the offensive to take Wuerselen. If the troops from 30th Division we replaced yesterday are to be believed, it will be a tough fight.
We have to advance on a tight frontage against a dug in enemy in urban terrain. Parts of the city are mined.*
On top of that, German artillery fire is apparently unusually active in this sector. In addition to the usual mortars and divisional howitzers, they apparently also have some heavier guns in support, all aimed at Wuerselen.*
Once this town falls, Aachen is encircled. The Germans will not let that happen without a desperate fight.

Objectives: *
Deploy your core force below and behind the indicated line.*
Take Wuerselen.*
*
*
Enemy: The defense of the town has been taken over by 60th Panzergrenadier Regiment, part of, ironically, the 116th Panzer Division.
They have dug themselves into the southern part of the city. Panzers and guns are hidden between the buildings, holding key roads and intersections.
They have uncharacteristically heavy artillery support.*
*
*
In order to break through these defenses, we have been reinforced by tanks from 2d Armored Division.
The Germans have been issuing more and more Panzerfausts and Panzerschrecks in the last months, so keep the armor safe. Engineers, artillery and air support are also available.

You will only receive reinforcements after Aachen is encircled. If you feel like you can only advance with unjustifiable casualties, go on the defensive and keep what you already have.
