Emote commands:

/date - Display the local and GMT time and date.
/dieroller roller - Set your dieroller or list the available rollers.
/font - Sets the font.
/fontsize - Sets the size of your fonts. Recomended 8 or better for the size.
/help - Displays a list of emote commands.
/i or /i player_id_number - Ignore user associated with that player ID.
/lines [number] - View or set the maximum number of lines shown in chat.
/load - Loads settings from another ini file from the myfiles directory.
/log [ on | off | to filename ] - Check log state, additionally turn logging on, off, or set the log filename prefix.
/me - Alias for **yourname.
/moderate [ on | off ] - Show who can speak in a moderated room, or turn room moderation on or off.
/moderate player_id,...=on | off - Give people the ability to speak in a moderated room, or revoke it.
/name or /nick your_name - Change your name.
/ping - Ask for a response from the server.
/purge - Purge history older than your buffersize.
/role [player_id = GM | Player | Lurker] - Get player roles from ther server, or change the role of a player.
/set [setting[=value]] - Displays one or all settings, or sets a setting.
/status your_status - Set your online status (afk,away,etc..).
/time - See /date.
/update [get] - Get the latest version of OpenRPG.
/version - Displays current version of OpenRPG.
/w player_id_number, ... = message - Whisper to player(s). Can contain multiple IDs.

(4) Randall: You set sail and after an uneventful voyage you arrive in NjordsFjord

(4) Randall: It is a bright sunny day as you sail into the harbour. There are amny fishing boats moving about and a few ships docked

(4) Randall: The sailors on your ship hurry about lowering the sail and soon the ship moves up against the dock. Men start to unload the ship and the merchant pays you
(4) Randall: 3 gp each
(4) Randall: You find yourself standing on the docks as various workers move around you
(4) Randall: NjordsFjord is a medium sized trading village. The buildings are mostly longhouses with turf roofs and the occassional stone warehouse

(4) Randall: You can hear shouting and boasting from a longhouse further up the main street

(4) Randall: OC: hmm i seem to have forgotten how to change the colour
(3) Lae'nial: (Hmm...With a roll like that, I think he could guess the material)
(4) Randall: excuse the occasional pause. I can't memorize the entire viking book
(1) Chtkrilktha: (just make it up, doesnt have to be entirely accurate)
(3) Lae'nial: (That's ok, it probably won't get very far)
(4) Randall: the longhouses are wood with shingles or thatch on the roof
(3) Lae'nial: (Uh...Obscure joke. A reference I found said that 'viking' originally meant what the vikings did when they went out on boats)
(4) Randall: OC: yes I already knew that and the book mentions it
(3) Lae'nial: (Just explaining it. Probably shouldn't have bothered, since it's a rather stupid joke in the first place)
(4) Randall: OC: rough map, docks with ships, and the pathway with houses on each side and the longhouse at the top
(4) Randall: As you satnd around you notice the merchant going up the road
(2) Kelensiya: Well, what should we do now? If we follow the merchant... he might know someplace where we could stay for the night... on solid land.
(3) Lae'nial: "That plan bears merit."
(1) Chtkrilktha: "Up to those that sleep."
(4) Randall: Yoou follow the merchant up the road
(4) Randall: He enters, and you can hear the sound of many men inside
(4) Randall: a few men come out and lurch past you, clearly inebriated
(2) Kelensiya: "Mmmm... savory company."
(4) Randall: you go in?
(2) Kelensiya: "Shall we?"

(1) Chtkrilktha: "Yes"
(3) Lae'nial: "Sure."

(4) Randall: Inside you find many tables set up. MEn sit eating and drinking. There is a large fire at the far end with roasted spits on them. WOmen move about carrying drinks and food
(4) Randall: You notice the merchant sitting nearby
(4) Randall: The men take little notice of you. Seated at a table in the corner a yound man is seated. He holds a harp and plays a song. Judging by the amount of food being thrown at him and his rather despondent state he doesn't appear to be any good
(4) Randall: The merchant sees you and motions you over to him
** (1) Chtkrilktha makes its way over towards the merchant **
** (2) Kelensiya makes a note of the harpist's location and goes over to the merchant... behind Chtkrillktha **
** (3) Lae'nial follows Kril **
(3) Lae'nial: (Or whatever we call him/her/it)
(4) Randall: "Welcome my friends" says the merchant "let me thank you again for your help. Luckily we didn't need it, it seems any threat was too busy in here to bother us"
(4) Randall: he says witha sly smile
(1) Chtkrilktha: "Yes, much ale flows tonight."
(4) Randall: "hmm well it's still midday, but I am sure your prophecy will come true"
(4) Randall: "I'm just taking a quick meal before I go off and see my customer"
(4) Randall: "Come let me get you something to eat" he motions towards some of the women and they bring over large drinking horns and some roasted meat
(2) Kelensiya: "What are they paying you?" (to the serving people)
(4) Randall: "oh a few pennigar a day. Don't be worrying, you merchant friend will be paying for you food"
(2) Kelensiya: "Ah."
** (2) Kelensiya has no idea if that's good wages or not, so she acts non-commital **
(3) Lae'nial: (Wages for most NPC's suck, for no apparent reason)
(2) Kelensiya: (the only way to get any money in D&D is by killing monsters, eh?)
(1) Chtkrilktha: (they are lower classes, which generally always get the shaft; its historical if nothing else. but back to the game)
(4) Randall: YOu sit and eat your meal. Before long a large bearded man comes up to the merchant. "The lord will see you know" he proclaims
(4) Randall: now
(4) Randall: The merchant nods and finishes up his meal. "This is Gardar, he works for my customer". Gardar scowls at you. "Don't worry I'll leave som peenies witht hew women to pay for your meal"
(4) Randall: OC: escuse my bad typing :(
(4) Randall: OC: I think I'm getting dyslecia
(4) Randall: :(
(3) Lae'nial: (Tyop ferry!)
(4) Randall: AS the merchant goes out the door the harp player is pelted by more food. He breaks off his song and flees witht he cries of the men behind him
(4) Randall: The customers begin to get more and more rowdy
(2) Kelensiya: "This might be a good time for us to take our leave?"
(3) Lae'nial: "Indeed."
(3) Lae'nial: (Fyron?)
(4) Randall: You comsider making your way out of the feasthall then
** (2) Kelensiya exits before the imminent violence actually occurs **

** (2) Kelensiya looks around a bit for the harpist **
(4) Randall: You all leave as the serving women try to calm their customers down
(4) Randall: You see the harpist over near a house
(4) Randall: (H)
(1) Chtkrilktha: (arent you a bard k?)

(2) Kelensiya: "I'll be right back, I need to attend to something."
** (2) Kelensiya goes over to try to talk to the guy **

(4) Randall: "Yes thankyou, I'm ok. I do not understand why they didn't like my song"
(2) Kelensiya: "Perhaps you need more practice? I've done a little harp playing... maybe I could give you some advice?"
(4) Randall: " I was apprenticed to my master for many years. But recently he said I should go out by myself. This was my first solo performance"
(2) Kelensiya: "Harsh beginnings. If I may, a place like that might not be the best place to play a harp."
(4) Randall: "What other instruments are there?" he asks puzzled "All skalds play harps"
(2) Kelensiya: "No wind instruments? What about singing? There are many forms of music."
(4) Randall: "I can see you are not Ascomani, but harps are the only instruments we have" OC: he was singing along with the harp music
(4) Randall: TO your ears he wasn't very good
(2) Kelensiya: "Ah, yes. Well.. I must be off. Take care, perhaps sitting a little farther back from the audience would help dodge."
(4) Randall: You hear more noise and arguments behind you
** (2) Kelensiya returns to wherever Cht and Lae'nial have gone off to.. **
** (4) Randall found the F11 macro key **
(3) Lae'nial: (Pretty much still the same spot - Outside the door)
(4) Randall: The sound of fighting comes from the feast hall. The sewrving women run out in distress
(1) Chtkrilktha: "Sounds deadly in there."
(2) Kelensiya: "Good thing we're out here."
(4) Randall (whispering): can you send me your char sheet?
(4) Randall (whispering): thanks
(4) Randall: OC: had to get violist to send me his sheet, how do I make sure it is saved
(1) Chtkrilktha: "Wonder if this is the normal current around here."
(2) Kelensiya: (should be saved automatically when you exit openRPG)

(4) Randall: One of the serving women runs up to Kelensiya. "Please miss, I see you carry an instrument. Are you a skald?"
(2) Kelensiya: "No, but I can play some. Do you need a musician?"
(4) Randall: "Yes please, can you play something, hopefully it will calm down the men"
(2) Kelensiya: "I can try... is there someplace where I could play with less chance of being attacked? Maybe if I brought these two along with me?"
(4) Randall: OC: ah I see you play a viola, should have guessed
(2) Kelensiya: (instrument I'm most familiar with, and a piano is hard to lug around)
(4) Randall: oc: for some reason I thought it was a harp
(4) Randall: The serving woman leads you through the door and to one side. The men are brawling in the centre of the hall

(4) Randall: The men slowly pause. They turn to listen
(4) Randall: As Kelensiya continues to play all the brawlers stop and seemed enraptured by the tune
** (2) Kelensiya starts playing slightly more upbeat stuff, but still calming. **
(4) Randall: Eventually the men return to their food or leave. After awhile a man walks up to the group. "You appear to be a most gifted skald" he says "I believe my master would be interested in meeting you"
(2) Kelensiya: "Thank you- I would be delighted to meet him."

** (2) Kelensiya looks at Lae'nial and shrugs a bit **
(4) Randall: The man, who introduces himself as Hauk, leads the group through the streets. Eventually you reach a tall building. Made of stone it is the only multi story house you have seen here

(3) Lae'nial: * Not much else to do.
(4) Randall: just a minute
(4) Randall: You are led into a large meeting chamber. Most prominent is a large man seated at one end. He is rather old with a large white beard and a patch over one eye. He sits talking to his guests and a large raven sits upon his shoulder. You notice he is talking to the merchant
(3) Lae'nial: (BRB)
(3) Lae'nial: (Back)
(4) Randall: They are discussing the items the merchant brought, spices and cloth in return for furs and other stuff
(3) Lae'nial: (Where's the other raven?)
(4) Randall: "Well Hauk" he says "Who are these people?" peering at you, even with oine eye his gaze is strong

(4) Randall: "Lord Raknar" Hauk says " I know that you are always looking for enetertainment. This skald here broke up a fight in the feasthall with her playing. I thought you might want to meet her"
(4) Randall: "Indeed, I am always looking for good enetertainment. Isn't that right Munin?" he says to his raven, who caws in reply
(4) Randall: "So Skald" he says addressing Kelensiya "Do you think you are good enough to entertain us?"
(2) Kelensiya: "I know not, your lordship. Perhaps we should see?"
(4) Randall: "Indeed. Play for us will you"
(2) Kelensiya: "Certainly, milord."
** (2) Kelensiya unpacks again, tunes, and begins to play a nice forceful piece, sort of thing that'd appeal to a warrior culture **
(2) Kelensiya: (yes, there's music like that)

(2) Kelensiya: (oh wait. +2 bonus for Masterwork instrument)
(4) Randall: Raknar sits and listens, once you are finished he applauds "great, great, a most masterful performance. We would be honoured if you gift us with more of such performances"
(4) Randall: "But for the moment, whoa re these friends of yours?"
(2) Kelensiya: "This is Lae'nial, a gifted wizard, and this is Chtkrilktha, a noble companion."
(4) Randall: "A wizard" he says turning to look at LAe'nial. His gaze bores into him." and a most unusual companion. The fortune of the gods themselves must have drawn us together, for you see I have need of tru warriors, would you be interested in doing a task for me"
(4) Randall: OC: keep in mind also that Shaorin is there even if Douglassisn't here
(3) Lae'nial: "That depends on the task."
(4) Randall: " As I was just telling our friend the merchant here, there are farmers who serve me near the mountains. AS of late they have been plagued by a tribe of Fensir, taking their sheep and harming the farmewrs, I have need of true sould to vanquish them. If you willa ccept, consider it a little test, for I have greater tasks"
(3) Lae'nial: (Would we know what fensir (Or did you mean fenris?) are?)
(4) Randall: OC: it is Fensir, and the name is not known by you, although perhaps Kelensiya could use her bardic knowledge
(2) Kelensiya: Bardic Knowledge Roll: [1d20 + 3] -> [12,3] = (15)
(4) Randall: Kelensiya is not familiar with the name
(4) Randall: "Come, do you have an answer for me" Raknar asks
(3) Lae'nial: "I am unfamilair with Fensir. What are they, exactly?"
(4) Randall: "oh I apologise, Fensir are what are also known as, what is the word...ah Trolls"
(3) Lae'nial: "Ah. That sounds like an acceptable task."
(4) Randall: OC: time to wrap up. We can start the mission with douglas next time
(4) Randall: Fyron, can you post the sever address so we know where to go next time
(4) Randall: everyone there?
(2) Kelensiya: (dunno where Fyron ran off to...)
