Helo War #2: POW Bust*
*
Date: January 2006*
*
Battle Location: Kanzanistan*
*
Battle Type: Airmobile POW bust*
*
Scenario description: This is a follow-on to the first Helicopter War scenario. The US has gone to war with the People's Republic of Kanzanistan after the latter's invasion of a nuetral country. Kanzani troops are holding several American and Allied prisoners of war and are parading them in front of the worldwide media. We must rescue them. CIA operatives have pinpointed their location. You are to fly your AH-64D Apache attack helicopter there and provide cover for a rescue helo to pick them up. Enemy air defences are very heavy, as this is near an assembly area for a large enemy force. As a secondary objective, try to locate and destroy this assembly area.*
*
Execution:*
Get to the prisoners (they're on the hill to the east labeled "POWs"), load them onto the UH-60, and get them to the objective in the west marked "extraction point". For the secondary objective, find and destroy the enemy campsite.*
*
Tactics:*
- Stay low, and find a well-concealed and indirect route for the rescue copter to follow.*
- Only fire in self-defence- they outnumber you badly, and you don't want to give your position away.*
- The rescue helo is very vulnerable, so keep it out of trouble. Don't be afraid to use its firepower, though.*
- Be fast- the enemy will figure out we're here quickly, and will kill or relocate the POWs.*
- The secondary objective is well-guarded, and only get it done once you've finished your main task. Your priorities are, 1, save the POWs, and 2, get as many points as possible.*

The only intelligence we can provide you is that this mission is going to be tough. Let's hope you're up to it.
