Server Administrator-> You have connected to an OpenRPG server, version '1.6.1'.
Welcome to Jack Simth's temporary server!
I put this up just for a short gaming session on Saturday, and stop it after.
Session is schedualed for 10 AM Pacific Standard Time.

(2) Rilyrr (enter): 09:49
(2) Rilyrr: good morning
(1) GM: Greetings.
(1) GM: Hmm.... hard to do today's planned session with just a druid and a ghost.....
(3) No Name (enter): 09:59
(3) No Name: Hello?
(1) GM: Greetings.
(3) No Name: How do I change my name?
(1) GM: With /nick NewName
(1) GM: Like so...
(3) No Name: Oh
(3) No Name: Makes sense
(1) Jack Simth: So, do you have a character prepared?
(3) ZA: Yah
(3) ZA: I do
(1) Jack Simth: Great; if it's already ported over to the OpenRPG format, would you mind sending me the node?
(3) ZA: The character sheet program from openRPG sucks though
(3) ZA has sent you a tree node...
(3) ZA: I sent it to you
(1) Jack Simth: Well, a little, but it also lets you do things like.....
(1) Jack Simth: Disable Device Skill Check: Untrained
(1) Jack Simth: Disguise Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [20,10] = (30)
(1) Jack Simth: Escape Artist Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [15,4] = (19)
(1) Jack Simth: Forgery Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [10,2] = (12)
(1) Jack Simth: Gather Information Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [9,10] = (19)
(1) Jack Simth: Handle Animal Skill Check: Untrained
(1) Jack Simth: Heal Skill Check: [1d20+5] -> [13,5] = (18)
(1) Jack Simth: Hide Skill Check: [1d20+12] -> [2,12] = (14)
(1) Jack Simth: Innuendo Skill Check: Untrained
(1) Jack Simth: Intimidate Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [17,10] = (27)
(1) Jack Simth: Intuit Direction Skill Check: Untrained
(3) ZA: I know about all that
(3) ZA: It just doesn't allow races and feats and what not that is not already listed in the files....
(3) ZA: If you don't like that character I am in the middle of creating another one
(1) Jack Simth: True, and it's set for 3.0; however, you can alter the files.
(3) ZA: Yah
(3) ZA: I had to do that for that character
(3) ZA: Dd you get it?
(1) Jack Simth: Got it; looks okay at a glance.
(1) Jack Simth: Let's see... we have two arcane casters, two divine casters, a rogue, and two fighter-types.
(3) ZA: What classes?
(1) Jack Simth: Well, that's counting your Fighter; Sor, Wiz, Favored Soul, Druid, Rogue, Swashbuckler, Fighter
(3) ZA: Oh, ok
(3) ZA: That sounds good
(3) ZA: I was also working on a bard
(3) ZA: But I think I will stick with my fighter
(4) Elorin (enter): 10:06
(1) Jack Simth: Greetings.
(1) Jack Simth: A bard is a force multiplier; they are very handy in larger parties.
(3) ZA: Yah
(3) ZA: I have one just bout finished
(3) ZA: Just haven't filled it out all the way
(3) ZA: Or converted it to Openrpg
(1) Jack Simth: However, as we have the bases covered, play something you think will be fun.
(3) ZA: Heh
(3) ZA: I have ran the full gamut of characters in the past....
(3) ZA: The only thing I didn't find fun was the druid
(3) ZA: Hey guys, NA wants us to wait
(3) ZA: For some reason he doesn't have open RPG installed
(1) Jack Simth: Yeah; I'm working on posting the files for him.
(1) Jack Simth: So, of course, Shrapnel seems to have gone down.... odd.....
(1) Jack Simth: Hmm.... could one of the major portions of the backbone be down?
(1) Jack Simth: Role call - who's still connected?
(2) Rilyrr: me
(3) ZA: I am posting them to my website
(4) Elorin: I'm still here
(1) Jack Simth: Ah, seems Shrapnel was just having a momentary glitch. Anyone know what the upload limit is?
(4) Elorin: The posting screen says 30000000 bytes
(3) ZA: HE almost has it
(3) ZA: Don't worry about it Jack
(4) Elorin: [30000000/1024] -> 29296 Kb
(3) ZA: He is getting it off of my website
(4) Elorin: [29296/1024] -> 28 MB
(2) Rilyrr: it would be KB
(5) No Name (enter): 10:20
(5) No Name: YAY!
(1) Jack Simth: Greetings.
(5) Kibin: I LIVE!
(5) Kibin: :P
(3) ZA: BRB
(4) Elorin: And you're not an alien any more! :P
(5) Kibin: Alien?
(1) Jack Simth: Still Missing Rylrr and Kaylin.
(4) Elorin: Well, I suppose that's not really accurate in D&D for sentient nonhumans
(2) Rilyrr (exit): 10:22
(2) Rilyrr (enter): 10:22
(4) Elorin: So, what's the new guy planning on being?
(1) Jack Simth: Tough.
(5) Kibin: Meatsheild. :)
(1) Jack Simth: Eldon! That was Narf's Character's name....
(4) Elorin: A Dwarven Defender would be good for a meatshield
(3) ZA: Human Fighter
(3) ZA: I am not a meatshield :)
(1) Jack Simth: One of a spellcaster's best investments in an extremely expensive suite of armor on the fighter right in front of him.....
(6) Anti-Paynoot (enter): 10:27
(1) Jack Simth: Greetings. Not a name I recognize.
(6) Anti-Paynoot: Hello generic white man name
(5) Kibin: Uh...
(6) Anti-Paynoot: Hello Kibbles N Bits
(1) Jack Simth: Everyone always reverses two letters.....
Server Administrator-> Kicking '(6) Anti-Paynoot' from server... A little too insulting for my tastes....
(6) Anti-Paynoot (exit): 10:29
(5) Kibin: Interesting.
(7) Anti-Paynoot (enter): 10:29
(7) Anti-Paynoot: You're looney
(5) Kibin: Isn't it supposed to be Jack Smith, not Jack Simth?
(1) Jack Simth: Nope.
(5) Kibin: Huh.
(5) Kibin: Why have I never noticed that before?
(7) Anti-Paynoot: Anti-Paynoot is creating room 'Evil Room of Roominess.'
(7) Anti-Paynoot (exit): 10:30
(1) Jack Simth: Same reason people tend to gloss over typos.
(5) Kibin: Did you do that on purpose?
(5) Kibin: Huh. How long have you had your name like that?
(1) Jack Simth: Yep. Most people's minds have error correction measures to filter and fix small discrepancies - it lets you talk in a noisy situation - but it can be fun to play with them at times, and find out just how observational people are.
(1) Jack Simth: Since I signed on for Shrapnel with this account.
(5) Kibin: Why have I never noticed that before?
(5) Kibin: Until you said typo...
(7) Anti-Paynoot (enter): 10:32
(3) ZA: You never noticed it before? It has bugged the crap out of me since I heard of this guy!
(7) Anti-Paynoot: Heard of me?
(5) Kibin: No, I have never noticed it before.
(1) Jack Simth: Nope.
(7) Anti-Paynoot: I'm the evil side of Paynoot from Thardferr
(5) Kibin: Very interesting.
(1) Jack Simth: Doesn't ring a bell.
(7) Anti-Paynoot: Thardferr is a horrible game world setting for D&D
(3) ZA: Never heard of it
(7) Anti-Paynoot: only the most socially challenged people play in it
(5) Kibin: Your point?
(3) ZA: So uh, why don't you go away
(5) Kibin: We don't use Thardferr.
(7) Anti-Paynoot: hm
(7) Anti-Paynoot: Gathis is about the same
(5) Kibin: Our GM has kindly created an entire game world setting for us to play in.
(1) Jack Simth: Well, anyone care to try the regularly schedualed room, as it's half an hour past?
(5) Kibin: Completly unique, that I know of.
(7) Anti-Paynoot: Who?
(5) Kibin: Heh. Bye...
(5) Kibin (exit): 10:35
Moving to room 'D and D'..

(4) Elorin (enter): 10:35
(5) Kibin: (Brb a second, putting something into microwave, getting food, and setting up matrix DVD to watch while roleplaying.)
(4) Elorin (exit): 10:36
(4) Elorin (enter): 10:36
(3) ZA (enter): 10:36
(3) ZA: Heh
(3) ZA: For a minute there I thought you guys had forgotten me :)
(5) Kibin: (Hey, OOC goes in ()
(3) ZA: (ok)
(5) Kibin: (And keep OOC down, it detracts from the immersion of RPG games.)
(1) GM: Sorry; forgot you needed the password; iI'm pretty sure t's buried in the thread, somewhere.....
(1) GM:

(4) Elorin: (I went back and whispered it to him)
(5) Kibin: (CHEESE!)
(1) GM: When we last left our heros, they were discussing banditry with the guards at the fort.....
(2) Rilyrr: (are we still at the outpost place?)
(1) GM: Yep.
(3) ZA: (What about me?)
(1) GM: Guard 1: Hey, maybe we should get Sir Aaron to clean out the bandits!
(1) GM: Guard 2: He tried earlier - said something about not being able to handle them alone....
(4) Elorin: Who is this Sir Aaron?
(1) GM: Guard 3: Oh, He's due to come chastise us for talking on duty any minute now.
(3) Aaron: (Is that my que?)
(1) GM: (yep)
** (3) Aaron walks up **
(3) Aaron: Ahem.....
(3) Aaron: What is this all about?
(1) GM: Guard 1: Did it work last time?
(1) GM: Guard 2: Oh, some clouds just turned into people.
(1) GM: Guard 3: And started talking to us.
(3) Aaron: Clouds into people...
(1) GM: Guard 1: Well, one talked before turning into a person.....
(5) Kibin: (Backish)
(3) Aaron: Stop daydreaminig
(3) Aaron: Focus on the task at hand
(4) Elorin: We can do it again if you want to see it. :P
(3) Aaron: Now, who are these people?
(5) Kibin: Down here, sir.
(4) Elorin: (you're not small any more, Kibin)
** (3) Aaron looks down **
(1) GM: Guard 2: They seem to be here to fix the bandit issue.
(5) Kibin: (Yes, but they up on a wall.)
(1) GM: Guard 3: Well, they didn't say they were here to fix the bandit issue.
(4) Elorin: We were considering it, yes.
(1) GM: Guard 1: So? That doesn't mean that's not what they're here for.
(4) Elorin: Or at least, I was.
(3) Aaron: The bandit issue....
(3) Aaron: You there
(5) Kibin: (Hey, what were those two D&D sites, again?)
** (3) Aaron points to the gathering of outsiders **
(1) GM: (which two?)
(5) Kibin: (There was this one that didn't have picutres, and one that did...)
(5) Kibin: (With the SRD.)
(3) Aaron: What exactly did you have in mind for the bandits?
(4) Elorin: We're a band of wandering adventurers, and we've got a little time to wait while our wizard does something. Stopping some bandits might help pass the time.
(5) Kibin: (http://www.d20srd.org/ is without pictures.)
(1) GM: (This one?)
(5) Kibin: (Yeah.)
(5) Kibin: (I like the other one better. I have a search for it now.
(3) Aaron: (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35)
(1) GM: Guard 2: Hey, do you think they might succeed where Aaron couldn't, before?
(3) Aaron: Nonsense
(3) Aaron: Alone, they will never succeed
(4) Elorin: (d20srd.org is much much easier to look things up in than the text files on wizards.com)
(1) GM: Guard 3: Yeah, it was really funny when he came back bleeding from the first time.....
(3) Aaron: I will atend to them
(3) Aaron: Back to your duties men....
(5) Kibin: (Ping.)
(1) GM: Guard 1: Hey now! One of our duties is to challenge those who come to the wall...
(5) Kibin: (Hehe, sorry, Comcast ais having problems or something...)
(1) GM: Guard 2: But Aaron has that covered.
(5) Kibin: Challenge?
(1) GM: Guard 3: Right! Let's go.
** (3) Aaron grumbles **
(1) GM: The three guards wander off, along the wall.
(3) Aaron: All right then
(4) Elorin: So, what sort of bandits are we talking about here?
(3) Aaron: (that's a good question heh)
whispering to Aaron, you aren't sure - you never actually saw them; they hit you from cover and hid before you could react. Again, and again, and again.....
(3) Aaron: They are the dishonorable sort
(3) Aaron: Violent and stealthy
(2) Rilyrr: How much stuff is there to steal way out here?
(3) Aaron: No double uneducated rabble incapable of cutting it in a society of rules and laws
(4) Elorin: Typical of bandits. Except maybe the stealthy part, but I don't think even that is very unusual.
(5) Kibin: What's unusual about bandits being stealthy?
whispering to Aaron, oh, just the occasional merchant caravan heading to the Archmage's tower, the pay carts, and the supply carts....
whispering to Aaron, which is about two months overdue, now....
(3) Aaron: They are here to waylay the local merchant caravans heading to and from the Archmages tower no doubt
(4) Elorin: Hmm, they do tend to have to avoid pursuit, true.
(2) Rilyrr: (didnt the tower get destroyed?)
(3) Aaron: Our last supply shipment is nearly two months overdue
(5) Kibin: Should tend to avoid combat when possible too, I think.
(4) Elorin: You mean the pile of rubble that gigantic dragon destroyed?
(1) GM: (Yes, but he hasn't been up there - he was assigned to this post.....)
(3) Aaron: Gigantic dragon.....
(3) Aaron: I know nothing about a gigantic dragon
(3) Aaron: I tend to my post, and the roads I am assigned to watch over
(5) Kibin: Sorry, but the archmages tower has beein completly destroyed. There's hardly anything left of it now.
(3) Aaron: Interesting
(5) Kibin: That's probally why there's been no caravans.
(4) Elorin: Yeah, it was a bit strange. Not any of the usual variety of dragons.
(4) Elorin: Her scales flashed in all colors of the rainbow instead of staying a constant shade.
(4) Elorin: (Prismatic dragon, epic monster)
(4) Elorin: Seems she took exception to some experiments with her baby.
(3) Aaron: (Knowledge check to see if I know naything about it?)
(5) Kibin (whispering): By the way...
(5) Kibin (whispering): I suppose I have to be a dragon to take dragon hitdie?
(3) Aaron: Knowledge: Arcana Skill Check: [1d20+19] -> [7,19] = (26)
(4) Elorin: But that's all dealt with now.
whispering to Aaron, You think you saw such a beast once, when you were a young child; they normally keep to themselves, but make fairly decent neighbors, as they tend to eliminate dangerous predators from the area.
(5) Kibin: (*wonders why a fighter needs knowledge: arcana)
(4) Elorin: Except the Archmages don't seem to be planning on rebuilding the tower
(3) Aaron: (I like to have well rounded characters with a histroy)
(5) Kibin: (Did your father want to send you to wizard school too? :D)
(3) Aaron: (Aaron was formerly assigned to gaurd a young mage, it ended badly, he doesn't like to talk abou tit)
whispering to Kibin, Oh.... I'll let you take Dragon Disciple (silver) levels, despite not having the normal pre-requisites.
(5) Kibin (whispering): I mean regular dragon hitdie. :P
(3) Aaron: Well, bakc to the task at hand
(3) Aaron: The bandits
(3) Aaron: I propose we set out at first light, so we might have a full day to track them, tonight we should plan for our hunt
(3) Aaron: Any objections?
(5) Kibin (whispering): Mostly for the knowledge skills that are class skills for dragons.
** (2) Rilyrr falls asleep where he stands **
(8) Kaylin (enter): 10:59
(5) Kibin: Do you have any spare weapons for me to use?
(8) Kaylin: (bleh. Fell asleep and slept in)
whispering to Kibin, you mean like the Knoweledge (all skills, taken individually) that the Dragon Disciple has?
(5) Kibin (whispering): Dragon disiples get 4 less skill points than dragons. :)
(3) Aaron: I am sure we will be able to find something in the armory
(4) Elorin: Or you could borrow my longsword, seeing as I don't use it much
(5) Kibin: Longswords are clumsy to use.
whispering to Kaylin, you successfully convinced the old Archmage to forge the scroll - which he's working on - and joined up with the rest of the party ... they seem to be having a chat at a local fort.
(3) Aaron: (on a side note, can I get a description of everyone, class/race/brief description)
(3) Aaron: Longswords are an excellent weapon, I wielded one early in my training
(5) Kibin: (15 rogue, 1 dragon, human)
(2) Rilyrr: (old human druid)
(3) Aaron: But wait, I shall have the gatesmen usher you in
(5) Kibin: (And I guess a fairly average human, with white hair and a few draconic features. :P)
** (3) Aaron disapeears to the gatehouse **
(5) Kibin: But they're clumsy for me to use, I would prefer a short sword.
(1) GM: A pale, slightly transparent human someonw steps out of a small Hawk that had landed on the wall..... he's carrying a staff, has a nice cloak, some gloves, and a bit of a line along his neck, just under his chin. He also stands a foot above the wall....
(8) Kaylin: (Wizard/grey elf/overly concerned with appearance)
(8) Kaylin: (Aaron == ZA?)
(1) GM: (Yep)
(3) Aaron: (yes, Aaron is ZA)
(1) GM: Kaylin teleports in to just in front of the gate.
(4) Elorin: (I'm 5'2" elf, brown hair, brown eyes, wears a chain shirt, has a bow on his back.)
(4) Elorin: (level 16 Favored Soul (spontaneous divine caster from Complete Divine)
(5) Kibin: (The dragon hitdie is a long story. :P)
(4) Elorin: (wears an obviously high quality cloak)
(5) Kibin (whispering): Also, that bonus spell would kind of go to waste.
(4) Elorin: Done already, Kaylin?
(5) Kibin: (Ah yes...)
(8) Kaylin: I got the old Teacher to scribe the scroll.
(4) Elorin: (since when did Kaylin learn to sing? :P)
(8) Kaylin: (oops, wrong character :D)
(3) Aaron: (6'3" heavy build, greying hair, carries no apperant weaponry, wears one glove a shiny breastplate with a red robe over it)
(5) Kibin: (I also have gloves, a cloak, cold winter outfit, an amulet, and bracers...)
(8) Kaylin: (Aaron is a guard?)
(1) GM: (Who's just learned he really doesn't have anything to guard anymore....)
(4) Elorin: (that's "Sir Aaron", and he's apparently head guard here or something)
(5) Kibin: (I betcha that Aaron has gloves of storing.)
(8) Kaylin: (interesting)
(3) Aaron: (Yah, a nice quiet retirement position)
(3) Aaron: (my character is 48)
(8) Kaylin: (mine is young, about .. 126)
(4) Elorin: (youngster. I'm 130 :P)
(1) GM: Jason: Don't be too worried about my appearence.
(5) Kibin: (Aaron, did you subtract one from str, dex, and con, and add one to int, wis, and cha?)
(1) GM: (Jason: over 1000 - and human)
(3) Aaron: (I am a half giant :)
(5) Kibin: (I guess I would be more like about 14 or so, kobolds probally age fast.)
(4) Elorin: (brb)
(1) GM: Jason: So ... shall we see about clearing up the forest? Seems like such a shame, cutting these people off from their supplies.
(3) Aaron: (Half cloud giant to be exact)
(5) Kibin: Sure, why not.
(3) Aaron: (uh, I went to open the gates, are they open yet?)
(5) Kibin: Or, we could try reasoning with the bandits?
(1) GM: A few men at the gates help with the heavy bar and sturdy door, slowly pushing it open.
(8) Kaylin: I like that idea, but you strong men better have pointy sticks to back up your words.
(3) Aaron: Pointy sticks?
(8) Kaylin: Or the appropriate substitute.
(5) Kibin: (*tries to remember what adjustments to strength would be...)
(3) Aaron: My dear (lady, sir?) we are not primitives going out on a boar hunt
(8) Kaylin: (lady)
whispering to Kibin, +4 STR, +1 Natural Armor, Resistence to cold 10
(3) Aaron: Well then, please do come in
** (3) Aaron motions to the gates **
(5) Kibin (whispering): Ah yes, thank you. That means AC is reduced... by 2.
(8) Kaylin: My apologies... I did not mean to cause offense. I was merely noting the differences in various people's lifestyles, of which I know little of yours.
(1) GM: The sky starts to cloud up......
(3) Aaron: And we shall see about outfitting your friend there with a sufficient weapon, and make plans for our hunt
(5) Kibin (whispering): So 34 without dodge bonus.
(3) Aaron: It is starting to cloud over
(1) GM: A storm starts forming in surprisingly short order....
(1) GM: Spellcraft checks?
(4) Elorin: How urgent is it to stop the bandits?
(3) Aaron: Something is a miss here
(8) Kaylin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+31] -> [13,31] = (44)
(4) Elorin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+19] -> [6,19] = (25)
(2) Rilyrr: (asleep)
** (3) Aaron nudges Rilyrr **
whispering to Kaylin, Someone's messing with the weather .... longer range on it than most.....
(8) Kaylin: (you sure your character isn't a tree sloth right now? :P)
(2) Rilyrr: Oh, a storm is brewing
(2) Rilyrr: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+20] -> [6,20] = (26)
(4) Elorin: (that doesn't mean you can't make a spellcraft check - the only skill that specifies a penalty for sleeping is Listen :P)
(8) Kaylin: It's not that big of a deal. A little magically tampered weather, though the spell construction is slightly unusua.
(1) GM: The wind picks up rather severly....
** (8) Kaylin hurries inside, smiling at Aaron when she passes **
** (5) Kibin comes inside as well, though not as quickly as Kaylin. **
** (2) Rilyrr strolls slowly inside **
** (3) Aaron motions to the gaurds to begin resealing the gates **
(3) Aaron: Everyone inside!
** (4) Elorin follows **
(1) GM: The guards close the gates.
(1) GM: Jason has his bird follow.
(5) Kibin: Do you have a crafting portal?
(3) Aaron: (crafting portal?)
whispering to Aaron, Nope. Just an outpost; although you do have basic weapons available.
(3) Aaron: No
(5) Kibin: (GM's way of making it so that we don't have to wait weeks for crafting. :)
whispering to Aaron, Something that shows up in Ye Olde Shoppe of Magjicke - 100 gp fee, and you have a day/round till you're done crafting.
(3) Aaron: Please follow me inside
(4) Elorin: You expect a small guard outpost to have one of those?
** (3) Aaron makes his way into the main hall **
(1) GM: It starts snowing....
(5) Kibin: Well, it's possible.
(2) Rilyrr: This is unusual
(8) Kaylin: Tell me... do these bandits you mention have any skilled magic users amongst their ranks?
(1) GM: You hear the crack of lightning outside.
** (2) Rilyrr begains casting control weather. **
(8) Kaylin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+31] -> [3,31] = (34)
(2) Rilyrr: Rilyrr casts Control Weather ( level 7, "controls local weather" )
** (3) Aaron stops and watches the spectacle **
(5) Kibin: (*wonders if these bandits are all level 1 rogues.*)
(8) Kaylin: (if they are, chain lightning wouild fry 15...)
(1) GM: Caster level check?
** (8) Kaylin sits and watches Rilyrr's casting **
whispering to GM, [1d20+15] -> [11,15] = (26)
(2) Rilyrr: [1d20+15] -> [8,15] = (23)
whispering to Rilyrr, you find somebody else has a tighter grip on the weather than you do, and your spell can't get established.
(5) Kibin: I wonder if the bandits know that the archmages tower is destroyed yet...
(2) Rilyrr: Um, do you have another teleport spell prepared?
(8) Kaylin: Certainly.
(3) Aaron: Why, what is happening?
(3) Aaron: Knowledge: Arcana Skill Check: [1d20+19] -> [17,19] = (36)
(5) Kibin: (already used all the greater teleports, and two regular teleports...)
whispering to Aaron, Umm, what's your class breakdown?
(2) Rilyrr: It would seem that a powerful spellcaster has taken a dislike to you.
(5) Kibin: (I think.)
(5) Kibin: Maybe we should get that scroll made first?
(5) Kibin: The bandits can wait...
(3) Aaron (whispering): straight fighter, I have a feat, Scholar, which allows me to select a number of knowledge skills equal to my intelligance and make them class skills
(8) Kaylin: I dislike the idea of leaving a powerful and apparently malevolent caster free...
(1) GM: The winds outside start howling rather fiercly.
(2) Rilyrr: All evidence I have seen seems to point to the fact that he is more powerful then at least me.
(2) Rilyrr: And I dislike the idea of becoming like Kibin.
(8) Kaylin: Perhaps...
(8) Kaylin: Yes, few people would want to become like Kibin.
(3) Aaron: Let us make haste, indoors
(5) Kibin: Like me?
(1) GM: One of the guards from earlier rushes up.
(3) Aaron: What is it?
(1) GM: Guard: Forget inside! Root celler! There's a Tornado!
(1) GM: The guard rushes off, warning just about everyone he comes across.....
(8) Kaylin: (a tornado with snow?)
(1) GM: (In the mountains, yes. Not natural.)
(3) Aaron: I suggest we follow
(3) Aaron: I have made many enemies in my life
(3) Aaron: I fear one may have come to call
(2) Rilyrr: So it would seem
(4) Elorin: (I don't suppose the Control Weather spell I presume is causing this counts as in range for Dispel Magic?)
** (3) Aaron motions for everyone to move to the root celler **
(2) Rilyrr: (2 mile radius or 3 if cast by druid)
(5) Kibin: Ah, joy.
** (8) Kaylin figures something out about tornados and scuttles along to the root cellar **
(3) Aaron (whispering): I also have knowledge history with 17 ranks
** (5) Kibin follows everyone into the cellar. **
** (3) Aaron waits for everyone to get inside **
** (4) Elorin goes into the cellar **
(1) GM: After a while, everyone is piled up in the root cellar....
** (3) Aaron goes in and closes the doors **
(8) Kaylin: (Hmm, bad news. I may have to leave pretty soon; we're packing up so we can move to a new house...)
(8) Kaylin: So, do you have any idea who this might be?
whispering to Elorin, No, you don't know where the spell is, exactly.....
(5) Kibin: (I want to finish up with ghost today! :P)
(1) GM: After a short time, the last of the guards pile in.....
(3) Aaron (whispering): do I have any idea who this might be?
(1) GM: And shortly thereafter, a wracking, tearing, slamming sound is heard through the cieling, and lots of dus settles through the roof.....
whispering to Aaron, Nope.
(3) Aaron: I do not know for sure
** (5) Kibin wonders where the wagon and carriage is. **
(1) GM: Umm... safe and sound at the Teacher's cave.
(3) Aaron: If this is some product of magics, it will pass soon....
(4) Elorin: (wherever we left them when we went to Atlantis, I believe)
whispering to GM, [4d12*2] -> 54
(1) GM: The storm keeps up... and keeps up.... and keeps up....
(2) Rilyrr: I could last as long as 96 hours
(2) Rilyrr: (*it)
(1) GM: So, how long does everyone wait?
(5) Kibin: So, we have to stay here a while...
(4) Elorin: (4d12 hours duration)
(4) Elorin: (double if cast by a druid)
(1) GM: (With the possiblity of getting Extended..... theoretically.)
** (3) Aaron waits **
(1) GM: A day later, the howling winds can still be easily heard through the walls and cieling.
(5) Kibin: Ooo, exciting.
(4) Elorin: I rather doubt whoever's doing this is inside the area of effect, so perhaps we should try teleporting out and hunting him down
(1) GM: Jason shurgs, and steps up through the cieling for a moment.
(3) Aaron: If you have the spells prepared, it may be for the best
(1) GM: A little later, he comes back down.
(1) GM: Jason: The wall collapsed, and landed on the door.
(4) Elorin: (oh wait, centered on caster...)
(3) Aaron: Does the storm still rage?
(2) Rilyrr: (but you can move)
(3) Aaron: Or has it died enough for us to safely pass outside?
(2) Rilyrr: (its been a day)
(1) GM: Jason: Yep. Although it's not tornados anymore. Just freezing rain and hail. Nice sized stones, too.
(8) Kaylin: I think I can survive a few more hours in here...
(3) Aaron: I will try to pry the door
(8) Kaylin: (is there enough light for me to prepare spells?)
(2) Rilyrr: I could try regaining control of the weather again.
** (3) Aaron calls for some of his men to help him **
(3) Aaron: Str check: [1d20+7] -> [20,7] = (27)
(8) Kaylin: if it's hailing outside, do you really want to do that?
(1) GM: You get four strong men working with you on the door.
(1) GM: [4d20] -> [12,8,9,20] = (49)
(1) GM: Three of the Aid Another checks work....
(5) Kibin (exit): 11:38
(1) GM: And you manage to wedge the door a foot open.
(3) Aaron: Str check: [1d20+7] -> [15,7] = (22)
(1) GM: Outside, you can tell the wall landed on the door. It's still there, mostly intact, just horizontal.
** (3) Aaron pushes again **
(1) GM: [4d20] -> [10,8,11,9] = (38)
(1) GM: And it doesn't budge.
(9) Kibin (enter): 11:40
(4) Elorin: Rilyrr, would you try to end this storm again, please?
** (3) Aaron steps back **
(9) Kibin: (Jason is last. What happened?)
(1) GM: Fortunately, the wall provides quite a fair amount of cover. Pity the ice outside has built up to the point where you can't see out from under it.
(2) Rilyrr: Rilyrr casts Control Weather ( level 7, "controls local weather" )
(9) Kibin: (Last I heard was wall falling on door.)
(2) Rilyrr: (1d20+15]
(1) GM: (Aaron and a few guards are Working on getting the door open)
(8) Kaylin: (not much - the big strong guys are trying to push the door up through the wal)
whispering to GM, [1d20+15] -> [11,15] = (26)
(2) Rilyrr: [1d20+15] -> [12,15] = (27)
whispering to Rilyrr, You just barely manage to wrench the weather away from whoever was controlling it before.
** (9) Kibin goes help Aaron and the guards. **
(3) Aaron: Str check: [1d20+7] -> [12,7] = (19)
whispering to Rilyrr, So, what do you want the weather to do?
** (8) Kaylin sits in a corner and puts on a winter coat from the Bag **
(9) Kibin: [1d20+2] -> [12,2] = (14)
(2) Rilyrr (whispering): I turn off the storm and turn up the heat
(1) GM: Ten minutes later, water starts dripping into your shelter.
(1) GM: The rate quickly increases.....
(3) Aaron: Flooding above, we have to get out of here
(9) Kibin: Uh, Kaylin, have a disintergrate handy?
(2) Rilyrr: Oops
(8) Kaylin: (is there enough light to prepare spells?)
(8) Kaylin: (oh, wait)
(1) GM: Shadow Evocation, 5th: Mimics evocation below 5th level, but only 20% real.
(2) Rilyrr (whispering): I change the weather back to normal
(4) Elorin: (if not, just ask me to cast either Light or Daylight)
(1) GM: Jason makes a nice light spell.... yes.
(4) Elorin: (I've got both)
(8) Kaylin: This water is going to ruin my Robe.
(1) GM: After a few more minutes, the icy cold water becomes anckle deep.
** (3) Aaron attempts to become psionicly focused **
(1) GM: Fort saves, everyone (unless resistent to cold).
(8) Kaylin: Feel like getting out of here?
(9) Kibin: (O.O)
(3) Aaron: Concentration Skill Check: [1d20+14] -> [4,14] = (18)
(3) Aaron: (Half giants, naturally psionic)
(8) Kaylin: Fortitude save: [1d20+11] -> [4,11] = (15)
(2) Rilyrr: Fortitude save: [1d20+12] -> [17,12] = (29)
(3) Aaron: Fortitude save: [1d20+19] -> [15,19] = (34)
(1) GM: Kaylin: [4d6] -> [6,1,2,4] = (13) nonleathal Cold damage.
(1) GM: Rilyrr: [2d6] -> [5,3] = (8) nonleathal Cold damage.
(8) Kaylin: Brrrr... I feel like getting out of here.
(1) GM: Aaron: [1d6] -> [2] = (2) nonleathal Cold damage.
(9) Kibin: (Levels of cold damage? O.o)
(1) GM: (based on save; icewater around your feet, stuck inside.....)
(1) GM: Jason: I'll go upstairs and see what I can do.....
** (3) Aaron draws his falchion **
(3) Aaron: (Can I attempt to sunder the door?)
(1) GM: Jason walks through the cieling....
(9) Kibin: Elorin, can I go ahead and borrow that longsword anyway?
(1) GM: (Yep)
(4) Elorin: Sure
** (4) Elorin hands Kibin the longsword **
(1) GM: Of course, that's where all the cold water is rushing in.....
(4) Elorin: (which has GMW +5 on it, btw)
(9) Kibin: (Sweet.)
** (3) Aaron puts his falchion away **
** (9) Kibin attaches it to his waist, ready for use. **
(9) Kibin: (Is it a move or free action to draw it?)
(3) Aaron: I coulld potential destroy the door... but the wall blocking it would still prevent our exit
(1) GM: After a short while, you hear some shifting up above.
(8) Kaylin: Sounds like Jason...
(1) GM: After a few moments of shifting sounds, the door opens, and daylight (and more water....) comes rushing in.
(1) GM: The water's coming in awfully fast....
** (9) Kibin gets drenched in icy cold water... **
** (3) Aaron climbs out of the celler **
(1) GM: Strength check?
** (4) Elorin climbs out **
** (9) Kibin helps other people get out of the cellar. **
(3) Aaron: Str check: [1d20+7] -> [15,7] = (22)
(1) GM: Aaron gets out without too much difficulty.
(4) Elorin: Str check: [1d20+2] -> [11,2] = (13)
(9) Kibin: [1d20+2] -> [16,2] = (18)
** (3) Aaron lends a hand to anyone else who needs to be pulled out **
(9) Kibin: (Aid Another on people getting out.
(1) GM: Elorin, however, is washed back into the room in the backwash.
(2) Rilyrr: Str check: [1d20+3] -> [18,3] = (21)
(3) Aaron: Str check: [1d20+7] -> [6,7] = (13)
(1) GM: Guards: [10d20] -> [14,12,3,4,11,10,8,17,17,6] = (102)
(1) GM: Rilyrr manages to get out.
(1) GM: Two of the guards manage to get out, with help.
(1) GM: Jason: Need help?
(1) GM: [1d20+10] -> [5,10] = (15)
(3) Aaron: (on a side note, I have the racial ability, powerful build, so for any size checks I am treated as large)
(9) Kibin: That would be nifty.
(1) GM: Ghost Telekenesis: Lift Opponent: Standard Action, Concentration: Off Ground 12 rounds (if under 300 lbs, Will save DC 25), Wait: [1d4] -> [3] = (3)
(1) GM: [1d20+10] -> [15,10] = (25)
(1) GM: Jason starts pulling people out by brute force .... starting with Kaylin.
(1) GM: [1d20+10] -> [5,10] = (15)
(1) GM: [1d20+10] -> [1,10] = (11)
(1) GM: [1d20+10] -> [17,10] = (27)
** (3) Aaron looks around the ruins **
** (8) Kaylin shivers a bit **
** (4) Elorin tries to climb out again **
(3) Aaron: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [3,3] = (6)
(4) Elorin: Str check: [1d20+2] -> [1,2] = (3)
(1) GM: [1d20+10] -> [5,10] = (15)
(1) GM: [1d20+10] -> [3,10] = (13)
(1) GM: [1d20+10] -> [17,10] = (27)
** (4) Elorin slips **
(1) GM: After a while, everyone finally gets out .... although several of the guards are suffering sever hypothermia.
** (9) Kibin will get out after everyone else is out. **
whispering to Aaron, You wonder, briefly, where your shoes went.
(3) Aaron (whispering): my shoes?
whispering to Aaron, Flavor text for "really, really bad spot check"
(4) Elorin: (how many of the guards are suffering?)
(1) GM: None of the guards seem to be in good shape, [2d3] -> [1,1] = (2)
(1) GM: two are unconscious.
(3) Aaron: (hold on, I have to modify my character sheet, I didn't transfere everything over)
** (9) Kibin wrings the water out of the clothing. **
(4) Elorin: (so two unconscious, how many others?)
(1) GM: The fort is a wreck. Not a single wall or building is left standing.
(1) GM: Eight. Not counting named individuals.
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Resist Energy ( level 2, "Ignores 10 (or more) points of damage/attack from specified energy type" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 2 Spell ( level 2, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Resist Energy ( level 2, "Ignores 10 (or more) points of damage/attack from specified energy type" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 2 Spell ( level 2, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(1) GM: Most everything is covered in six inches of melting ice.
** (3) Aaron goes to the ruins of his quarters **
(4) Elorin: (on the unconscious ones)
(1) GM: Search check?
(9) Kibin: Interesting weather around here.
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Mass Cure Light Wounds ( level 5, "Cures 1d8 damage +1/level for many creatures" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 5 Spell ( level 5, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(3) Aaron: Search Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [3,2] = (5)
(2) Rilyrr: Search Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [8,2] = (10)
(8) Kaylin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [2,10] = (12)
(4) Elorin: [1d8+17] -> [7,17] = (24)
(9) Kibin: (Everyone?)
whispering to Aaron, You can't even tell where you quarters were.....
(1) GM: Just Aaron.
(3) Aaron (whispering): wouldn't I know the general location?
whispering to Aaron, References gone.
whispering to Aaron, although you can try again.
(3) Aaron: Search Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [3,2] = (5)
(3) Aaron: (I think my dice roller is broken :P)
** (3) Aaron gives up the search for his quarters **
(1) GM: Jason: Looking for anything specific?
** (9) Kibin asks Aaron, "Need help finding something?" **
(3) Aaron: See if you can find the armory, and get your friend a short sword or something similar
(1) GM: Search Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [19,10] = (29)
** (9) Kibin goes searching for the armory. **
(9) Kibin: [1d20+19] -> [5,19] = (24)
** (3) Aaron begins looking for the main hall, specificly a box with maps in it **
(3) Aaron: Search Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [8,2] = (10)
(9) Kibin: (Heh, I guess aid another on Jason. :)
(1) GM: Jason looks around. And finds the armory. And maps out where everything was.
** (9) Kibin assists. **
whispering to Aaron, you find the main hall, and even manage to find where the box was supposed to be. Everything of value is missing...... including the box itself.
(3) Aaron: Damn!
(1) GM: Jason: I think I found a sword for you, Kibin.
(9) Kibin: Ah, good.
(1) GM: Jason floats a masterwork shortsword over to Kibin.
(3) Aaron: This wasn't a random attack
(2) Rilyrr: What's wrong?
** (9) Kibin grabs, and quickly does a few dexterious slashes in the air to test it out. **
(1) GM: Jason: Odd how most the stuff is gone ... I would have expected more stuff at a fort.
(3) Aaron: I am willing to be this is related to those bandits
(3) Aaron: They aren't just standard bandits
** (9) Kibin hands the longsword back to Elorin. "Probally done by the bandits." **
(10) Kibin (enter): 12:03
** (10) Kibin hands the longsword back to Elorin. "Probally done by the bandits." **
(2) Rilyrr: [8d12] -> [5,12,12,5,4,1,1,7] = (47)
(2) Rilyrr: (duration of control weather)
(1) GM: Which was the last line, so.....
(10) Kibin: (Not just standard bandits was last.)
(1) GM: Which was the last line, so.....
(3) Aaron: I do not know the area well enough to begin a search for these bandits
** (4) Elorin puts it back on his waist **
(10) Kibin: (Ah, okay. Don't worry, Comcast is just being mean...)
(4) Elorin: Do you think the bandits would leave us alone long enough for a good breakfast before we set out?
(9) Kibin (exit): 12:04
(1) GM: (Well, actually, it's not usually Comcast being mean, so much as being stingy - the next relay after your cable modem is shared, and has limited bandwidth; if ten people are running on it, and downloading stuff, it can get overwhelmed.)
(3) Aaron: No
(8) Kaylin: Probably. It is always important to begin the day properly...
(10) Kibin: Oh, Elorin or Kaylin? Do you have some type of spell to enchant this weapon?
** (3) Aaron pulls rations out of his bag of holding **
(3) Aaron: Eat these
(3) Aaron: And lets get moving
** (8) Kaylin looks meaningfully at Elorin **
** (3) Aaron calls his gaurds together **
(4) Elorin: Ah, but Heroes' Feast is so much better than ordinary rations, and has magical benefits too
(1) GM: The ten guards (the two that were unconscious woke up after Elorin's healing) assemble.
(8) Kaylin: Elorin is an excellent cook, I think you
** (3) Aaron instructs the local gaurd to gather supplies and make for the nearest city **
(10) Kibin: (Does Aaron have leadership skills? O.o)
(8) Kaylin: *you'll find
(1) GM: The guards look around, but don't find much. Fortunately, they've been trained in Survival, just for this outpost, as sometimes the passes do close.....
(1) GM: They head off with what they can find.
(1) GM: To report, of course....
(3) Aaron: All right
(10) Kibin: (*pokes Elorin. GMW!!!*)
** (3) Aaron waits for them to be out of sight **
(3) Aaron: (hearing rather)
(3) Aaron: lets follow them
(1) GM: After a short while, they enter the surrounding forest.
(3) Aaron: When the bandits attack them, we will join the frey
(3) Aaron: Easily subduing their attackers
(8) Kaylin: Will they be safe until we can join?
(1) GM: Jason: That's ... mean, using them as bait like that.
(10) Kibin: (*pokes Elorin some more*)
(3) Aaron: They can handle themselves
(2) Rilyrr: How do you know that your men have no connection to these bandits?
(3) Aaron: But, I fear not long against those bandits
(8) Kaylin: Against someone who can cast such a strong Control Weather?
(3) Aaron: Let us move
(4) Elorin: (so, Heroes' Feast or not?)
(2) Rilyrr: We could easily be walking into a trap
(8) Kaylin: (I need to prepare spells, too...)
(1) GM: Oh, I figure you had it for breakfast underneath the rubble; after all, people get hungry after a day....
(4) Elorin: (ok)
(10) Kibin: (*pokes Elorin some more*)
(1) GM: Following the guards?
(10) Kibin: (Right after Elorin casts GMW like I suggested to him. :P)
(4) Elorin: (of course, that means my Bead of Karma is used up for today so this GMW is only at +4)
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Greater Magic Weapon ( level 4, "+1 bonus/four levels (max +5)" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 4 Spell ( level 4, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(10) Kibin: (So?)
(10) Kibin: (Thank you.)
** (10) Kibin thanks Elorin, then follows the party. **
(10) Kibin: (Aw man, I don't have enough room for the map. :P)
** (8) Kaylin follows next to Elorin **
(1) GM: Spot checks, everyone?
(4) Elorin: (so, Aaron, add +1 morale bonus to attack rolls and will saves, immunity to fear and poison, and 1d8+10 temporary hp for 24 hours)
(10) Kibin: [1d20+13] -> [18,13] = (31)
(2) Rilyrr: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+27] -> [17,27] = (44)
(8) Kaylin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [13,4] = (17)
(3) Aaron: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [5,3] = (8)
(4) Elorin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [9,10] = (19)
(3) Aaron: (I am so not used to playing characters without mad skills, failing skill checks sucks!)
(4) Elorin: (this is a daily routine, so those bonuses are pretty much permanent)
whispering to Rilyrr, Everyone manages to follow the guards without trouble.... except Aaron, but he just follows everyone else, who do see the guards.
(1) GM: Spot and Listen checks?
(3) Aaron: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [20,3] = (23)
(2) Rilyrr: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+27] -> [2,27] = (29)
(10) Kibin: [1d20+13] -> [20,13] = (33)
(2) Rilyrr: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+27] -> [1,27] = (28)
(10) Kibin: (That was spot.)
(10) Kibin: [1d20+18] -> [20,18] = (38)
(10) Kibin: (That was listen(wow))
(2) Rilyrr: (wow....)
(8) Kaylin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [1,4] = (5)
(4) Elorin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [8,10] = (18)
(4) Elorin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [5,10] = (15)
** (8) Kaylin can't hear a bomb go off now **
** (10) Kibin sets Kaylin up the bomb.() **
whispering to Kibin, on the trail, you hear and spot four humans carefully hidden in the surrounding foilage.
(2) Rilyrr: (someone set us up the bomb)
(1) GM: (that's up us.....)
(3) Aaron: (what is the deal with the grid up there?)
(2) Rilyrr: (my bad)
(1) GM: (or is it? Hmm....)
(10) Kibin: You can come out now, we know you're there.
(1) GM: (Combat coloring.....)
(3) Aaron: (Ooooh that is cool)
** (10) Kibin doesn't take out his weapon yet, hoping that there can be a nonviolent solution... **
(1) GM: Green lines are the edges of the path.....
(1) GM: A human in a chain shirt, with two shortswords at his belt, steps out.
(1) GM: Human: Ah, then you'll be willing to part with your valuables, then?
(10) Kibin: No, we won't.
(1) GM: Black dot's the man.
** (3) Aaron readies his sword (free action, glove of storing) **
(1) GM: Blue blob is about where the party stands.
(2) Rilyrr: Leave now and you may live
(10) Kibin: (*needs to become a monk*)
** (4) Elorin has his bow in hand **
(3) Aaron: (hey how did you do that whole icon thing elorin?)
(1) GM: Human: Wow, rather talky for someone who's surrounded.
(10) Kibin: Surrounded, maybe.
(10) Kibin: But apparently, we have more people than you do.
whispering to Kibin, Which is an odd statement for him to make, as the others aren't behind the party.....
** (3) Aaron readys an attack for anyone that gets close enough **
(1) GM: Can't ready actions outside of combat.
(10) Kibin: (How many are in our party again?)
(4) Elorin: (find something you like on the internet, I got it from the miniatures section here: http://rivendell.fortunecity.com/spell/1066/)
** (8) Kaylin goes and hides in the middle of the big strong fighters **
(3) Aaron: (I will make my own)
(2) Rilyrr: Are we really surrounded? I'll have to fix that
(3) Aaron: (any particular size the image needs to be)
(2) Rilyrr: Rilyrr casts Animate Plants ( level 7, "Plants gain quasilife and mobility" )
(4) Elorin: (copy the image location and paste it in the textfield below the map (assuming you're on the miniatures tab)
(1) GM: At the moment, Narf's character is conspicuously absent, so six.
(4) Elorin: (and click the Add Miniature button)
(10) Kibin: (Is Jason visible?)
(1) GM: (The properties for shrinking it are in OpenRPG)
(10) Kibin: (Ah, nevermind.)
(1) GM: (At the moment, yes.)
(4) Elorin: (you can resize it in OpenRPG by right-clicking and editing properties)
(10) Kibin: Six to your four...
(2) Rilyrr: (5 large animated plants arrayed in a circle around us)
(10) Kibin: (Which I didn't count. :P)
(1) GM: Human: Ah, I see.....
(1) GM: Human: Well, I ought to just surrender, then.

(1) GM: Human: Especially seeing as how good you are at counting...
whispering to Aaron, You see a tree.
(10) Kibin: Thus resulting in unnessecary bloodshed?
** (8) Kaylin looks around suspiciously **
(8) Kaylin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [13,4] = (17)
(1) GM: What are the will saves on those plant creatures?
(3) Aaron: What sort of druid engages in banditry?
(2) Rilyrr: (heh, -4)
(1) GM: You hear a chirping in the woods.....
(1) GM: [5d20] -> [13,8,1,18,10] = (50)
(1) GM: And the plant creatures turn on you....

(2) Rilyrr: (can constructs be turned?)
(2) Rilyrr: (controlled)
(1) GM: (Druid-8: Control Plants......)
(3) Aaron: (wait, how do I add my character now?)
(1) GM: Under the map, there's a miniatures tab; enter the URL for the image (in order for the rest of us to see it, it must be online, not local to your machine), and click "add miniature"
(2) Rilyrr: Survival Skill Check: [1d20+27] -> [9,27] = (36)

(2) Rilyrr: (where is this crazy druid like character?)
** (10) Kibin looks around at the plants, silently noting their turning. **
whispering to Rilyrr, You are surrounded. Four halflings behind, the one human in plain sight, and three more humans in the bushes, off to the side.
(1) GM: the plants attack! Roll vs. Initiative.
(4) Elorin: Dex check: [1d20+6] -> [11,6] = (17)
(2) Rilyrr (whispering): can I tell who cast the spell?
(8) Kaylin: Initiative: [1d20 + 6] -> [7,6] = (13)

(1) GM: (There's a distinction between someone who's hiding and someone who's ivvisible.)
(11) Kibin: (Crazy druid like character was last line.)
(11) Kibin: (What I miss?)
** (11) Kibin looks around at the plants, silently noting their turning. **
(8) Kaylin: (an initiative roll)
(4) Elorin: (plants are attacking, roll init)
(11) Kibin: [1d20+5] -> [2,5] = (7)
(11) Kibin: (Doh.)
(1) GM: Kaylin - re-roll initiative.

(11) Kibin: (I hate my roll.)
(8) Kaylin: (I hate your roll too)
(11) Kibin: (Hmmmm, do I get a feat next turn...)
(11) Kibin: (level*)
(3) Aaron: (Less go!)
(1) GM: The man you were talking to hustles into the mix, as do three of his friends from concealment, drawing a shortsword and attacking....
(1) GM: Human 1 Shortsword [1d20+12] -> [4,12] = (16) for [1d6+4] -> [1,4] = (5) and [Bad dice format] - [1d20+7 for [1d6+4] and [1d20+12] -> [3,12] = (15) for [1d6+2] -> [4,2] = (6) and [1d20+7] -> [14,7] = (21) for [1d6+2] -> [6,2] = (8)

(11) Kibin: (Attacking who?)
(11) Kibin: (Me, the only person who's unarmed? :P)
(3) Aaron: Looks like I have two on me
(1) GM: Two on Aaron, two on Kaylin.
(11) Kibin: (Meh.)
(8) Kaylin: (eek!)
(4) Elorin: (why is Kaylin in front?)
(3) Aaron: (doesn't look like I got touched)
(8) Kaylin: (I'm in the middle, supposedly)
(1) GM: Aaron gets targeted with a roll of 16 and 23, Kaylin 31 and 21.
(4) Elorin: (temp hp: [1d8+10] -> [5,10] = (15))
(1) GM: They ran through a flat-footed group of people.
(1) GM: Kaylin - flat-footed AC?
(3) Aaron: (No, I readied an attack against anyone that came within range)
(11) Kibin: (But you can't outside of combat, apparently.)
(11) Kibin: (Too easy to get past initiative.)
(3) Aaron: (Oh, that's right, we didn't know about anybody else)
(8) Kaylin: (AC 22)
(8) Kaylin: (flat-footed, that is.)
(11) Kibin: (Actually, you did. I indirectly said there was 4...)
(3) Aaron: (Flat footed AC: 26)
(1) GM: Can't ready actions outside of combat - initiative hadn't been rolled yet. Think of it this way: Person A east of a wall of force readies to cast a spell at B when the wall of force goes down. Person B readies an action to cast a spell at person A when the wall of force goes down. person C dispels the wall of force. B's spell is fully capable of disabling A, preventing him from casting; A's spell is fully capable of disabling B, preventing him from casting. What order should they operate in?
(1) GM: To avoid that headache, no readying actions outside of combat; in the above case, combat starts when the wall of force goes down. Whoever wins initiative goes first.
(8) Kaylin: (nice example, GM)
(4) Elorin: (rolloff or they both finish casting simultaneously so both spells are completed before either takes effect)
(11) Kibin: (And it messes up being flatfooted for rogues.)
(1) GM: Rilyrr's turn.
(2) Rilyrr: Rilyrr casts Air Walk ( level 4, "walk on air as if it were ground" )
** (2) Rilyrr walks up into the sky **
(1) GM: How far?
(11) Kibin: (Since drawing a weapon is a free action, I can do a full attack, right?)
(4) Elorin: (if you have Quick Draw, yes)
(3) Aaron: (Kibin, drawing a weapon is only a free action if you have quick draw or something similar)
(4) Elorin: (without that feat, it's a move action)
(2) Rilyrr: (because of 45 degree limitation 21 feet forward and up
(11) Kibin: (OR, if you have a BAB of +1.)
(1) GM: Drawing a weapon is a free action if you have quickdraw; if you don't, it's a move eqivalent that can hapen as part of a move action for going elsewhere.
(11) Kibin: (Or more.)
(11) Kibin: (Ah, okay. :P)
(3) Aaron: (no, a +1 bab only allows you to draw and move at the same time)
(4) Elorin: (BAB +1 just allows you to combine the move action of drawing with actually moving)
(4) Elorin: (otherwise no one would EVER take Quick Draw)
(1) GM: (at this level, KAYLIN has BAB +1 or better)
(11) Kibin: (True.)
(11) Kibin: (*makes mental note for unarmed strike for next feat*)
(8) Kaylin: (ouch, that hurt)
(3) Aaron: (And I use a glove of storing to store my weapon)
(4) Elorin: (any non-multiclass character gets BAB +1 at level TWO)
(1) GM: (with the exception of a small handful of non-core classes....)
(11) Kibin: (Then I can do kung fu! :P)
(3) Aaron: (anyways, on with the show!_
(4) Elorin: (true, there are a few PrC's with BAB +0 all the way through, but I don't recall ever seeing a base class with that)
(4) Elorin: (anyway, on with combat...)
(11) Kibin: (Hurry up so I can attack. :P)
(1) GM: Some halflings fire stones at the party....
(1) GM: [1d20+13] -> [13,13] = (26), [1d20+13] -> [11,13] = (24), [1d20+13] -> [1,13] = (14), [1d20+13] -> [12,13] = (25)
(11) Kibin: (*loves his high AC*)
(1) GM: Targetting the soft-looking girl in robes, with an air of intellect about her.
(1) GM: Pity she's flat-footed. And they are within 30 feet.
(1) GM: Kaylin - flat-footed AC?
(11) Kibin: (Hmmmmph. Why does the GM have to be smart and make the enemies smart.)
(8) Kaylin: (22)
(8) Kaylin: (they could hit me even if I wasn't flat-footed)
(1) GM: So three hits; [3+15d6] -> [3,2,6,1,5,5,2,6,2,5,5,2,4,6,3,4] = (61)
(11) Kibin: (I'm a rogue here! I only have a d6! :P)
(8) Kaylin: (... wow.)
(1) GM: And the little rogues attempt to hide again....

(8) Kaylin: (what's the temporary HP?)
(8) Kaylin: (oh, 15)
(11) Kibin: (At a -20 penalty for sniping...)

(4) Elorin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [20,10] = (30)

(8) Kaylin: (grr, damn openRPG and constantly taking me to the latest line)
(8) Kaylin: (How much damage have I taken?)
(11) Kibin: (46.)
(4) Elorin: (those halfling rogues are going down)
(11) Kibin: (I think.)
(11) Kibin: (from the stones.)

(11) Kibin: (Bah.)
(11) Kibin: (YAY! It's the masnion battle with all the bullets and the melee weapons and stuff! :P)
(1) GM: Ah, 9 from the one shortsword that actually hit.
(8) Kaylin: (whee, 21 HP)
(8) Kaylin: (er, 26.)
(8) Kaylin: (I cna tpye)

(3) Aaron: (whoops again)
(1) GM: Three arrows sink deep into one of the halflings, who goes down in a gurgle, but remains breathing; one other takes a hit.
(4) Elorin: (rather than setting up a truly huge number of attacks, why not just say how much you're power attacking by each time?)
(4) Elorin: (we can do a little math ourselves)
(3) Aaron: (Yah, I might do something like that... then of coursre comes the issue of multiple attacks.)
(11) Kibin: (GET ON WITH THE BATTLE!)
(1) GM: Eloring fires a few arrows off into the bushes, to clear results, from the sounds.
(11) Kibin: (I do everything by hand. :P)
(1) GM: Kaylin?
(1) GM: Reactive spot check to see if you can find the ones that hit you?
(8) Kaylin: (Already did, rolled a 15)
(1) GM: Which gets everyone that's left. Cool. Actions?
(8) Kaylin: (I can't remember, did I prepare spells this morn?)
(1) GM: Yes, you did.
(8) Kaylin: (very cool.)
(4) Elorin: (assume it happened before we started the effort to get out of the cellar)
(11) Kibin: (Go kick butt for me, and try not to kill them too much.)

(1) GM: More like your connection.
(11) Kibin: (Yeah.)
(12) Aaron: (No it was the program)
(12) Aaron: (the program crashed on me when I tried to resize a window!)
(1) GM: Kaylin - Concentration check to cast defensively?

(8) Kaylin: Concentration Skill Check: [1d20+17] -> [7,17] = (24)

(11) Kibin: (Quickened*)
(8) Kaylin: (any defensive actions I can take with a move action?)
(8) Kaylin: (Are we really surrounded, for instance?)
(12) Aaron: (Hmmmm... the map isn't loading)
(11) Kibin: (:P)
(1) GM: The halflings are "hiding" (unsuccessfully) on the side of the road, to the south. If you try to run, they are there to intercept. the Humans are to the north. I suppose you could dive into the bushes.....
(1) GM: Of course, that would involve leaving a threatened square....
(1) GM: Well, guess not.
(8) Kaylin: (Nope, I'll just cower then)
(12) Aaron: (is there anyway for me to refresh the map?)
(1) GM: You hear the sound of something chirping in the woods.....

(11) Kibin: (Then I'd have to kill them. :P)
(1) GM: Oh, and anyone who's not flat-footed and is threatening can take an AoO as they fly past.....
(12) Aaron: (I have no clue if I am threatening)
(4) Elorin: (the downside of using a ranged weapon, I don't threaten :( )
(4) Elorin: (you haven't gone yet, so you're flatfooted)
(1) GM: your turn hasn't come up - flatfooted; no makeing AoO's unless you have Combat Reflexes.
(11) Kibin: (who the crud has the funny looking fighter icon?)
(12) Aaron: Which one?
(11) Kibin: .(Red robe, sword.)
(12) Aaron: (me)
(4) Elorin: (whoever's moving the minis around, please stop)
(1) GM: Jason walks up a ways into the air....
(1) GM: Aaron, your turn.
(4) Elorin: (they're there to keep track of where we are on the combat map)
(12) Aaron: (I can't see shit on the map, are those two humans still standing next to me?)
(1) GM: Blue - Halflings

(11) Kibin: (Hurry up and get to me so I can try and kick butt. :P)
(11) Kibin: (Every combat I've been in, I've been useless...)
(12) Aaron: (everything is way out of scale to me since the program crashed)
(11) Kibin: (Recently at least.)
(4) Elorin: (if you're having problems with the minis not showing as shrunk as they're supposed to be, try zooming in or out)
(12) Aaron: ('ve been doing that)

(12) Aaron: (second attack, same situation)
(11) Kibin: (Is the leader, the one who talked to me, still unharmed?)
(11) Kibin: (I guess it's the leader. :P)

(1) GM: Same one?
(12) Aaron: )Yah)
(11) Kibin: (Meh. :P)
(1) GM: The mighty blow from the Guard captain severs the head of the targetted bandit in a wash of blood.

(8) Kaylin: (opposed check for grapple is?)
(1) GM: Aaron, and Kaylin both get AoO's. 1d20+size mod + str + BAB
(4) Elorin: (first take an AoO (unarmed strike with the Monk's Belt) for BAB+Str)

(8) Kaylin: (er, what the)
(1) GM: AC's a mere 14, so that's a hit and a hit. Roll for damage, Aaron.

(1) GM: Plant 4: Touch: [1d20+5] -> [11,5] = (16); grapple: [1d20+10] -> [19,10] = (29) vs. Elorin
(13) Kibin: (Even if it did hit... Have fun with getting past an escape artist check of 23.)\
(1) GM: Elorin - Touch AC?
(4) Elorin: (doesn't matter, Freedom of Movement ring)
(1) GM: Oh, right. Fun that the plants are mindless.....
** (4) Elorin watches the plant completely fail to get a grip **
(1) GM: Plant 5: Touch: [1d20+5] -> [15,5] = (20); grapple: [1d20+10] -> [16,10] = (26) vs. Rilyrr.
(2) Rilyrr: (um, im 21 feet in the air)
(1) GM: Large, Tall, with Reach.....
(1) GM: One grabs at your foot.
(2) Rilyrr: Quarterstaff (base): [1d20+14] -> [20,14] = (34) ===> Damage: [1d6+3] -> [3,3] = (6)
(2) Rilyrr: Critical hit? [1d20+14] -> [4,14] = (18) ===> Damage: [2d6+6] -> [2,5,6] = (13)
(2) Rilyrr: Quarterstaff (second): [1d20+9] -> [16,9] = (25) ===> Damage: [1d6+3] -> [3,3] = (6)
(2) Rilyrr: Quarterstaff (third): [1d20+4] -> [4,4] = (8) ===> Damage: [1d6+3] -> [2,3] = (5)
(2) Rilyrr: (ack)
(13) Kibin: (I'm guessing that the AoO hit.)
(1) GM: And it takes damage, pity it's immune to criticals.
(13) Kibin: (When is it my turn? :P)
(1) GM: Now.
(13) Kibin: (Yay!)
(13) Kibin: (Now, are three humans within reach?)
(1) GM: If you move a little. Of course, the plants threaten you....
(13) Kibin: (5 foot step? :P)
(1) GM: If you like. They aren't flanked yet that way, though.
(13) Kibin: (I know.)
** (13) Kibin steps to the middle of three of the humans, and procedes to try and disarm them. **
(13) Kibin: (Full attack, using unarmed disarm.)
(1) GM: Provoking.....
(1) GM: [1d20+12] -> [6,12] = (18)
(13) Kibin: (Dodge target is on leader.)
(1) GM: Wich is a mis.
(13) Kibin: (Or the one that stopped to talk. :P)
(1) GM: Opposed attack roll: [1d20+12] -> [9,12] = (21)
(13) Kibin: [1d20+18] -> [11,18] = (29)
(1) GM: And the sword is now in your hand.
(13) Kibin: (I get weapon, drop it.)
(13) Kibin: (*happy dropping is free action*)
(1) GM: Speaking of which, he's still got another (two-weapon fighting)
(13) Kibin: (Next one...)
(13) Kibin: (No, only one AoO is provoked...)
(13) Kibin: (oh.)
(1) GM: All four humans (well, three, one's very, very dead)
(13) Kibin: (Eh, I go to others now. :P)
(13) Kibin: (One weapon in off-hand is good.)
(1) GM: AoO: [1d20+12] -> [19,12] = (31)
(1) GM: What's your AC?
(13) Kibin: (34...)
(13) Kibin: (35 with dodge...)
(13) Kibin: (Against one target of my choosing.)
(1) GM: So they are only hitting on a nat-20, even if you could be flanked.
(13) Kibin: (Basically. Huh.)
(13) Kibin: (Anyway...
(1) GM: Unless they stop fighting in a two-weapon style.....
(13) Kibin: [1d20+13] -> [9,13] = (22)
(1) GM: [1d20+12] -> [20,12] = (32)
(13) Kibin: (Ouch. :P
(13) Kibin: (Anyway, last disarm would be targetted on him, then...)
(13) Kibin: (Since he already used AoO. :P)
(1) GM: And, as he attempts to counter-disarm your hand, he gets the attack roll on it... [1d20+12] -> [15,12] = (27)
(1) GM: Not that it matters.
(13) Kibin: (You can't disarm a hand! x.x)
(1) GM: Yeah. Tell that to the two-handed power attacker with the Falchion.
(13) Kibin: (Anyway...)
(13) Kibin: [1d20+8] -> [2,8] = (10)
(1) GM: Same one?
(13) Kibin: (That's for last disarm... which probally fails.)
(13) Kibin: (Yeah.)
(1) GM: [1d20+12] -> [11,12] = (23)
(1) GM: Counter-disarm: [1d20+12] -> [1,12] = (13)
(13) Kibin: (Yup, fails.)
(4) Elorin: (brb)
(13) Kibin: (And counter-disarm is still useless...)
(1) GM: And he DROPS his sword, as he hits your unusually tough hide wrong.
(13) Kibin: (Huh. O.o)
(1) GM: Ranger's turn.... one steps back and casts a spell......
(13) Kibin: (Wait...)
(13) Kibin (whispering): What was the natural armor bonus again?
(1) GM: Reflex saves, everyone who's on the ground.
whispering to Kibin, +1 racial.
(13) Kibin: [1d20+22] -> [1,22] = (23)
(12) Aaron: Reflex save: [1d20+12] -> [6,12] = (18)
(13) Kibin (whispering): Forgot to add that to calculations, me thinks.
(8) Kaylin: Reflex save: [1d20+11] -> [20,11] = (31)
(13) Kibin: (Huh....)
(8) Kaylin: (joy!)
(1) GM: Elorin - you don't need to roll for it.
(13) Kibin (whispering): Eh, cancels out size modifer anyway...)
(4) Elorin: (back)
(13) Kibin: (OH CRUD NATURAL 1 :P)
(1) GM: Nearby plants wrap around and attempt to entangle everyone; Kibin's the only one they actually manage to fully grab, though.
(1) GM: [5d20] -> [5,3,3,14,15] = (40)
(13) Kibin: (So...)
(1) GM: Although they do get three of the plant creatures.
(13) Kibin: (Can I at least try to wiggle out of the initial attempt?)
(13) Kibin: (With escape artist or grapple check...)
(4) Elorin: (escape artist or strength check to free yourself is a full round action)
(1) GM: Kibin - Entangled: The character is ensnared. Being entangled impedes movement, but does not entirely prevent it unless the bonds are anchored to an immobile object or tethered by an opposing force. An entangled creature moves at half speed, cannot run or charge, and takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity. An entangled character who attempts to cast a spell must make a Concentration check (DC 15 + the spell’s level) or lose the spell.
(13) Kibin: (Bah.)
(1) GM: As it's trees and vines that are entangling you, you can't move anywhere.
(13) Kibin: (Stupid natural 1s.)
(1) GM: The second surviving human sptpes back and casts a spell, causing a wall of wind to get in the way.
(1) GM: The third surviving human uses a full withdrawl action.
(1) GM: Rilyrr?
** (2) Rilyrr looks for the druid like thing **
(2) Rilyrr: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+27] -> [4,27] = (31)
** (13) Kibin gets temporarily distracted by the disarming attempt that he fails to notice the vines, which entangle him... **
(2) Rilyrr: Rilyrr casts Finger of Death ( level 7, "Instantly slays one creature" )
(13) Kibin: (...)
(1) GM: Rilyrr doesn't see anything new.
(2) Rilyrr: (ranger DC 28)
(13) Kibin: (*hopes for enemies to succeed on DC.)
(8) Kaylin: (why?)
(1) GM: [1d20+8] -> [1,8] = (9)
(13) Kibin: (So they won't die.)
(13) Kibin: (x.x)
(1) GM: Which ranger?
(8) Kaylin: (nice fort save)
(12) Aaron: (???)
(2) Rilyrr: (the one that cast the entangle)
(1) GM: And that one goes down.
(13) Kibin: (Do the plants go away?)
(1) GM: Pity there's nothing in the spell description that says the spell ends when the caster dies.
(13) Kibin: (Anyway...)
(1) GM: Halfling's turn.....
(1) GM: [1d100] -> [25] = (25)
(2) Rilyrr: (and now I must leave, I might be back in an hour or so)
(1) GM: You hear the sound of a last breath off in the bushes.
(2) Rilyrr: Disconnecting from server...
(2) Rilyrr (exit): 13:49
(13) Kibin: (*sniffs* poor halfling.)
(4) Elorin: (what, did I knock him down exactly to -9?)
(1) GM: (Yep)
(8) Kaylin: (don't you feel guilty now?)
(1) GM: Halflings: Look over there! [1d20+13] -> [4,13] = (17), [1d20+13] -> [15,13] = (28), [1d20+13] -> [15,13] = (28)
(1) GM: Sense motive checks?

(4) Elorin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+8] -> [1,8] = (9)
(4) Elorin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+8] -> [20,8] = (28)
(13) Kibin: [1d20+11] -> [9,11] = (20)
(8) Kaylin: (don't we get a bonus because they're hostile?)
(12) Aaron: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [3,3] = (6)
(8) Kaylin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [5,2] = (7)
(8) Kaylin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [7,2] = (9)
(8) Kaylin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [5,2] = (7)
(13) Kibin: (Probally it would be a -5 or -10 penalty)
(1) GM: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+5] -> [10,5] = (15)
(13) Kibin: (Since we're in combat, and probally wouldn't look...)
(8) Kaylin: (/me would currently believe a clown saying 1 + 1 = 1
(1) GM: "Creating a Diversion to Hide: You can use the Bluff skill to help you hide. A successful Bluff check gives you the momentary diversion you need to attempt a Hide check while people are aware of you. This usage does not provoke an attack of opportunity."
(13) Kibin: (Okay then...)
(13) Kibin: (Eh, I don't care. They're retreating anyway.)
(1) GM: Two of the halflings try to vanish from sight, but one is left just running.
(4) Elorin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [17,10] = (27)
(1) GM: [1d20+28] -> [3,28] = (31), [1d20+28] -> [7,28] = (35)
(1) GM: Two of the halflings vanish into the bushes.
(1) GM: Anyone want to take an AoO on the third as he runs?
(13) Kibin: (Not me.)
(12) Aaron: (Am I in range?)
(4) Elorin: (did that include the -10 for "having to move fast"?)
(1) GM: Ah, forgot about that... Elorin, you still see them.
(1) GM: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+13] -> [9,13] = (22)
(4) Elorin: (not that I threaten anything)
(1) GM: Jason sees one, but is out of reach.
(1) GM: Elorin?
(13) Kibin: [1d20+13] -> [2,13] = (15)
(13) Kibin: (My spot check, which sucks.)
(1) GM: Ooh, Ants!
(1) GM: Trying to escape the bindings??
(1) GM: Kibin?
(1) GM: Ping? Anyone online?
(4) Elorin (exit): 13:58
(1) GM: Ah, my conection's down. Grr.
(1) GM: At the router. Back in a minute....
(8) Kaylin (exit): 13:59
(12) Aaron (exit): 13:59
(13) Kibin (exit): 13:59
(14) Kibin (enter): 14:00
(14) Kibin: (O.o)
(14) Kibin: (Get the thingie about my spot check sucking?)
(15) Elorin (enter): 14:00
(1) GM: Yes.
(16) Aaron (enter): 14:01
(1) GM: Router crashed; had to reset it.
(1) GM: Kibin: You see ants crawling along the vines holding you in place. Attempting to escape from them?
(1) GM: Okay - that came out a little off... escape FROM THE VINES AND TREES!
(14) Kibin: (Ants?)
(14) Kibin: (Yes, I take the full round to escape from the vines.)
(14) Kibin: (The number in () is temporary health, btw.)
(1) GM: What is your Escape artist modifier?
(14) Kibin: (19. With the dexterity penalty.)
(14) Kibin: (Wait, ooops, 21.)
(1) GM: So you still make it on a roll of 1.
(14) Kibin: (Yeah.)
(14) Kibin: (Basically.)
(1) GM: Ah, Elorin's turn.
** (14) Kibin easily escapes from the vines. **
(15) Elorin: (halflings are now on the other side of the Wind Wall?)
(14) Kibin: (Probally. Hopefully.)
(1) GM: All those still alive, yes.
(14) Kibin: (Yay!)
** (15) Elorin looks around for anyone else, like the as yet unseen druid **
(15) Elorin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [13,10] = (23)
(1) GM: You don't see anyone.
(1) GM: And, as that's not a reactive spot, it's a standard action. Moving?
(15) Elorin: (no)
(1) GM: Sorry, Move, not standard. You can still fire an arrow off, if you like.
(17) Kaylin (enter): 14:08
(17) Kaylin: (bad disconnect....)
(14) Kibin: (Hehe.)
(1) GM: Router crashed, my end.
(17) Kaylin: (ah, wow... I got disconnected from the 'net at my end too :)
(17) Kaylin: (*blames GM's router*)
** (15) Elorin looks extra hard **
(18) Kibin (enter): 14:09
(15) Elorin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [7,10] = (17)
(1) GM: Well, just in time for your turn.
(18) Kibin: (You know, he would probally enclose the wind wall around us.)
(17) Kaylin: (who's left alive?)
(1) GM: Three halflings, two humans, that you can see.
(1) GM: Although you can't see two of the halflings.
(14) Kibin (exit): 14:10
(15) Elorin: (and 5 animated trees)
(1) GM: Right. And five animated trees.
(16) Aaron: (How far am I from the humans?)
(18) Kibin: Take care of the trees, please.
(1) GM: One is about 35 feet away, the other about 10.
** (16) Aaron doesn't fight trees..... **
(17) Kaylin: (How many things could I hit with a 60-foot cone? Prismatic Spray...)
(18) Kibin: (Including us?)
(16) Aaron: (oohhh, prismatic spray, good choice!)
(17) Kaylin: (not including you, except posibly .. anah :P)
(16) Aaron: (I had a character who was killed by prismatic spray wonce)
(17) Kaylin: (rolled high?)
(16) Aaron: (*once)
(18) Kibin: (I was turned to stone twice by a prismatic spray.)
(17) Kaylin: (no, that was a prismatic wall)
(18) Kibin: (A wall, and a sprayish kinda thing.)
(1) GM: Well, as it originates from your hand...... you could get both humans, and the visible halfling (also one of the hiding halflings). You could target the plant creatures, but then you'd have to get some of the party, as well.
(1) GM: Kibin gets stoned a lot, yes.
(18) Kibin: (*hopes that the enemies still live.*)
(17) Kaylin: (I think I'll do the first thing)
(17) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Prismatic Spray ( level 7, "Rays hit subjects with variety of effects." )
(18) Kibin: (*hopes for lucky dice*)
(1) GM: Concentration check for casting defensively?
(1) GM: [5d8] -> [4,4,5,1,6] = (20)
(17) Kaylin: (Do I need to cast defensively?)
(15) Elorin: (the animated plants are still here)
(18) Kibin: (Plant creatures. :P)
(1) GM: Under threat from animated trees.
(18) Kibin: (And possibly me.)
(17) Kaylin: (close enough?)
(15) Elorin: (they're large, they have reach)
(17) Kaylin: (how many could hit me if I didn't cast defensively?)
(1) GM: For a critter with a 10 foot reach, yes; oh, the two that aren't entangled at the moment.
(15) Elorin: (what's your concentration bonus?0
(18) Kibin: (When entangled ,you can still attack, you know.)
(1) GM: yes, but those two aren't quite in reach of Kaylin.
(1) GM: Those three, sorry.
(17) Kaylin: (conc. bonus is only +17)
(15) Elorin: (hmm, you still have Stoneskin on, and they don't do very much damage per attack...)
(17) Kaylin: (yeah..)
(18) Kibin: (*secretly hopes for Kaylin to fail concentration check*)
(15) Elorin: (I'd say just ignore the plants)
(18) Kibin: (And concentrate on the people who are running away? x.x)
(17) Kaylin: (yeah, 25% chance of failure isn't my thing....)
(17) Kaylin: (not casting defensively)
(1) GM: [1d20+5] -> [16,5] = (21), [1d20+5] -> [19,5] = (24) for [1d8+4] -> [7,4] = (11) and [1d8+4] -> [1,4] = (5)
(1) GM: AC?
(17) Kaylin: (AC 24)
(17) Kaylin: (DR 10/adamantine)
(1) GM: One misses, the other hits, and eats up 5 poins of the damage buffer on your stoneskin.
(18) Kibin: (So 1 point of damage got through. YAY!)
(17) Kaylin: (wrong roll, Kibby..)
(18) Kibin: (Oh wait. Aw. :(
(15) Elorin: (even if 1 point had gone through, that's only a DC 18 check I think, which she makes automatically)
(17) Kaylin: SR penetrations: [1d20 + 21] -> [1,21] = (22), [1d20 + 21] -> [17,21] = (38), [1d20 + 21] -> [3,21] = (24)
(1) GM: 4, 4, 5, 1, 6; so that's three Fort saves, one reflex, and a Will.... [5d20] -> [9,6,9,14,14] = (52)
(18) Kibin: (Poor bandits.)
(17) Kaylin: (hope they enjoy poison.)
(1) GM: What's your DC?
(16) Aaron: (who's side are you one Kibin?)
(17) Kaylin: (25)
(18) Kibin: (The peaceful side?)
(17) Kaylin: (kibin's going to get my next fireball...)
(18) Kibin: (Happily I'm not vulnerable to fire any more.)
(16) Aaron: (If I don't lob his head off first)
(18) Kibin: (And it's easy to suceed on reflex save. :P)
(17) Kaylin: (Well, ok. Feeblemind then... no, wait that wouldn't make any difference :P)
(18) Kibin: (...)
(1) GM: A halfling drops dead, one turns to stone, a human gets burned (and drops dead), and one of the humans drops dead.
(18) Kibin: (Still a bit of a chance of suceeding the save.)
(17) Kaylin: (sweet!)
(1) GM: One halfling unaccounted for.
(17) Kaylin: (that's why you don't throw rocks at wizards)
(1) GM: A large whirlwind appears a little ways above the party, and a column of lighning striks at Kaylin.
(1) GM: Make a reflex save.
(17) Kaylin: (ow.)
(17) Kaylin: Reflex save: [1d20+11] -> [14,11] = (25)
(17) Kaylin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+31] -> [12,31] = (43)

(1) GM: DC 19 - success; take 25 points of electricity damage.
(16) Aaron: ((HP: 158 / 158))
whispering to Elorin, Call Lightning Storm; you missed the casting, but see the effect.
(17) Kaylin: (sweet. 1 HP)
(18) Kibin: (That would mean she's unconscious, I think.)
(18) Kibin: (Or 1 HP. O.o)
(15) Elorin: (well, I know what I'm doing next round)
whispering to Aaron, Call Lightning Storm; you missed the casting, but see the effect; it's been Maximized.
** (17) Kaylin falls over and pretends to be dead **
(16) Aaron (whispering): wrong person
(17) Kaylin: (or is that something I have to do on my turn...)
(18) Kibin: (Which requires a bluff roll... :)
whispering to Kaylin, Call Lightning Storm; you missed the casting, but see the effect; it's been Maximized.
whispering to Kaylin, Also, that's a Large Air Elemental in Whirlwind form above you.
(16) Aaron: (hello?)
(18) Kibin: (Ping.)
(18) Kibin: (Yup, me stilll here.)
(1) GM: Kaylin - Bluff check?
whispering to GM, [1d20+4] -> [14,4] = (18)

(15) Elorin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+8] -> [19,8] = (27)
(1) GM: Jason's turn.....
(1) GM: Mage's Private Sanctum, 5th: Prevents anyone from viewing or scrying an area for 24 hours
(1) GM: Jason covers the area with a sight-poof fog. Not that anyone on the inside can see.... carefully shaping the area so that it doesn't include anything that would provide cover or concealment.
(1) GM: Jason: In the fog, if you can still see the fog!
(1) GM: Jason: Then spread out!
(1) GM: Aaron?
(16) Aaron: (Is anything other then the animated trees still alive?)
(1) GM: There's a halfling you can't see, and the animated trees that you can, and an unknown assailent that nobody's spotted yet.
** (16) Aaron reaches into his belt pouch and pulls out Iron Bands of Billaro **
(16) Aaron: Can anyone cast true seeing?
(1) GM: Jason realizes that anyone outside the "fog" wouldn't be able to hear him.... oh well.
(1) GM: Where are those from?
(18) Kibin: (Don't you mean BINDING?)
(16) Aaron: DMG
(16) Aaron: (page 261)
(15) Elorin: (Iron Band of Binding are in the SRD)
(1) GM: SRD has generic names, DMG has people's names. Same item.
(1) GM: So, anyone answering Aaron's question?
(1) GM: Jason: not I.
(17) Kaylin: I cannot
(15) Elorin: not me
(1) GM: Jason: Hey, this guy is using a lot of magic, right?
(16) Aaron: Yes, and?
(18) Kibin: (Jason is still in the fog...)
(1) GM: Jason: Anyone got a fast way to locate and identify magical auras?
(18) Kibin: (Unless people are in the fog.)
(18) Kibin: (Who's in the fog?)
(18) Kibin: (And who's not?)
(1) GM: Oh, he sculpted it so most everyone was inside. Except those running away. He just doesn't always think before he talks.
(15) Elorin: Arcane Sight would do it, but that's a wizard's spell
(17) Kaylin: I have ARcane Sight prepared
(15) Elorin: Fastest I've got is Detect Magic
(1) GM: Aaron - doing anything?
(18) Kibin: Please don't kill the spellcaster...
** (17) Kaylin mumbles a rude word about the spellcaster in Elvish **
(15) Elorin: (we do still have 5 animated plants attacking us)
** (16) Aaron readies an action **
** (18) Kibin glares at Kaylin. **
(15) Elorin: Why not?
(16) Aaron: (I will throw the iron bands at the caster once he becomes visible)
(1) GM: Plants' turn.....
(1) GM: Three attempt to escape the vines and trees holding them [1d20+3] -> [10,3] = (13), [1d20+3] -> [11,3] = (14), [1d20+3] -> [11,3] = (14)
(1) GM: All remain entangled.
(1) GM: Two attempt to swat Kaylin.
(15) Elorin: ("Each round on your turn, the plants once again attempt to entangle all creatures that have avoided or escaped entanglement.")
(17) Kaylin: (dang, they weren't fooled by the 'dead' act)
(18) Kibin: (The plants do try and keep us entangled, you know.)
(18) Kibin: (The spells. :P)
(18) Kibin: (Yeah.)
(15) Elorin: (the other two need to make reflex saves again)
(1) GM: [1d20+5] -> [15,5] = (20), [1d20+5] -> [15,5] = (20), [1d8+4] -> [8,4] = (12), [1d8+4] -> [7,4] = (11)
(15) Elorin: (not that either of them hit anyway)
(1) GM: There's two different plant spells up and running - the Entangle hasn't gotten back around to the dead ranger's turn yet.
(17) Kaylin: (they have to roll a 19 or a 20 to hit me...)
(1) GM: Kibin?
(18) Kibin: (Just a second, looking up something.)
(18) Kibin: (How large are the plants?)
(1) GM: Animated plants are Large. They aren't particularly difficult to kill.
(1) GM: Rilyrr animated them, your opposition took them over.
(18) Kibin: (I see.)
(1) GM: The Entangle was cast by one of the now-deceased Humans.
** (18) Kibin takes out his short sword, and slashes at one of the plants attacking Kaylin. **
(1) GM: Attack roll?
(18) Kibin: [1d20+22] -> [13,22] = (35)
(1) GM: hit; Damage? Sneak Attack does not apply.
(18) Kibin: (What would the damage be for the shortsword? 1d6?)
(1) GM: Jason: You know, that could probably just be dispelled.
(1) GM: Yep.
(18) Kibin: [1d6+2+4] -> [6,2,4] = (12)
(18) Kibin: Let's focus on the plants now, bandits later.
(1) GM: And you successfully do 12 damage to one of the plant critters.
(16) Aaron: Can anyone cast dispell magic?
(18) Kibin: Elorin and Kaylin, if memory serves.
(15) Elorin: Yes, but I think healing Kaylin is a bit more urgent
(1) GM: Reflex saves, everyone, vs. the Entangle. DC 12.
(16) Aaron: Dispell the magic animating the trees
(17) Kaylin: I'm with Elorin on that
(17) Kaylin: Reflex save: [1d20+11] -> [6,11] = (17)
(16) Aaron: Reflex save: [1d20+12] -> [19,12] = (31)
(1) GM: Mobile plants: [1d20+1] -> [19,1] = (20), [1d20+1] -> [2,1] = (3)
(18) Kibin: [1d20+17] -> [16,17] = (33)
(18) Kibin: (Easy. x.x
(1) GM: One of the plant creatures is grabbed and held by the vines and other trees.
(18) Kibin: (So is the free one the one I damaged?)
(1) GM: Sure.
(18) Kibin: (Yay.)
(1) GM: It took a serious hit or two earlier, and is in quite bad shape.
(1) GM: Rilyrr slaps his forehead, and casts a regular Dispel Magic. On his own Animated Plants. And makes it, automatically.
(1) GM: The plants take root in the middle of the road.
(18) Kibin: Thank you.
(1) GM: Rilyrr: Should have thought of that earlier.....
(1) GM: Elorin?
** (15) Elorin heals Kaylin **
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Heal ( level 6, "Cures 10 points/level of damage, all diseases and mental conditions" )
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 6 Spell ( level 6, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(1) GM: Kaylin feels much, much better.
** (17) Kaylin is all healthy and stuff **
(1) GM: Kaylin?
(18) Kibin: Tell me, what are we trying to accomplish here again?
(17) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Arcane Sight ( level 3, "You can see all magical auras within 120 feet." )
(15) Elorin: (I think Aaron's the only character in this whole party that isn't automatically at full hp after a Heal)
** (17) Kaylin looks around for that caster **
(1) GM: You see a couple of blobs of magic in sight, but can't see what it's on to make out the schools.
** (17) Kaylin points them out (if there's time in the round) **
(1) GM: Three blobs of magic, fairly widely spread, in addition to the blobs of magic on the dead and stoned opponents.
(1) GM: Yeah, there's time. They are back in the bushes a ways.
whispering to Elorin, One's the halfling you killed in it's hiding spot
(15) Elorin: It's not that one
** (15) Elorin points **
whispering to Kaylin, The other two are just barely in your range.
(17) Kaylin: There's two that are pretty far out....
(1) GM: You hear a chirp, as from a small bird.
whispering to GM, [1d20+15] -> [9,15] = (24)
(15) Elorin: (direction?)
(15) Elorin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [13,10] = (23)
** (16) Aaron looks for the bird **
** (18) Kibin tries to listen to see where this bird is. **
(18) Kibin: [1d20+18] -> [6,18] = (24)
(17) Kaylin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [6,4] = (10)
(16) Aaron: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [3,3] = (6)
(1) GM: You can't pinpoint the bird; it's too far away.
(1) GM: And very well hidden.
(15) Elorin: (and Rilyrr's +27?)
(16) Aaron: Fireball the area of the bird!
** (18) Kibin sighs. "Again, what are we trying to accomplish here?" **
(1) GM: At -12 for the range, vs. the hide check, not much.
(16) Aaron: Do you not get that we are being assailed here kibin?
(18) Kibin: I get that we were being attacked, and the attackers have since retreated.
(15) Elorin: (can we at least figure out which of the two blobs of magic it is?)
whispering to Kaylin, when the bird chirped, Jason's Sanctum went down.....
(17) Kaylin: Kibin, it may have escaped your notice, but there's a lightning storm and an air elemental above us...
(17) Kaylin: And that bird chirp took down the Sanctum...
(18) Kibin: Really?
(1) GM: The air elemental just kinda hovers in place, not doing anything, just flying there.
(1) GM: Jason: Well, easy down, easy up.
(18) Kibin: Apparently, the air elemental isn't attacking.
(1) GM: Mage's Private Sanctum, 5th: Prevents anyone from viewing or scrying an area for 24 hours
(17) Kaylin: its presence is enough to increase the damage from the bolts, though.
(1) GM: Aaron?
** (16) Aaron walks 15 feet in the directions of the chirps **
(18) Kibin: (Ping.)
(1) GM: Can't tell where it's coming from.
(16) Aaron: Kaylin, can you dispell magic in a zone around the chirping noises?
(18) Kibin: Good, except that we don't know where the chirping noises are coming from.
(17) Kaylin: I suppose I could.
(16) Aaron: (wait, we can't even tell waht direction it is coming from?)
(18) Kibin: (Ping.)
(17) Kaylin: (Kibin, why do you keep going 'Ping'?)
(1) GM: Filtered through over 120 feet of vegitation? It's remarkably lound that you can hear it at all.
(16) Aaron: Never mind then
(20) Kibin (enter): 15:00
(20) Kibin: (Don't mind my pings.)
** (16) Aaron just stands there **
(1) GM: Kibin?
(18) Kibin (exit): 15:01
(1) GM: Doing anything?
** (20) Kibin places his sword back on his waist, stands there, and crosses his arms while tapping his foot. **
(1) GM: Elorin?
** (15) Elorin attempts to locate the chirping sound **
(15) Elorin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [19,10] = (29)
(1) GM: Seems to be off to the east, somewhere, as is only one of the auras that wasn't accounted for.....
(15) Elorin: That way!
** (15) Elorin moves in that direction **
(1) GM: Out of the cover of Jason's Private Sanctum?
(16) Aaron: Wait
** (15) Elorin waits a moment **
(1) GM: Kaylin?
** (17) Kaylin heads to the edge of the Sanctum in the Elorin-indicated direction **
(16) Aaron: Can we cast a spell that might hold it still temporarily?
(20) Kibin: You know, I think that they would like talking a lot more now that they know what we're capable of...
(1) GM: Of course, the only one that's still active on his own is running, others are dead, save the one that's stoned.
(17) Kaylin: Want to go outside and suggest it to them?
(16) Aaron: Kibin, have they tried talking?
(1) GM: And, of course, the one nobody has seen.
(20) Kibin: They've tried running. Which you interrupted without a second thought.
(17) Kaylin: Well... at least one can be revived...
(16) Aaron: Kibin: They tried to kill us, without provocation
(16) Aaron: They are not friendly
whispering to Kaylin, Having been given a direction to the chirp, you now know exactly which square to target, although you can't really use anything Targetted.
(15) Elorin: The druid out there doesn't seem ready to quit
(16) Aaron: We need to deal with that chirping, I have a feeling that whatever is making that noise is the source of all this trouble
(20) Kibin: Not friendly because they thought that we were easy to defeat, like most people who do walk through these woods.
(20) Kibin: They know otherwise now.
(16) Aaron: Kibin: If they prey upon us because they suspected we were weak, then they are nothing worth consorting with....
(17) Kaylin (whispering): An Area dispel would work then, right?
(1) GM: Jason: Well, they did have some slight provocation - they stopped and tried to rob us, actually asked for our stuff. For that matter, they didn't even draw weapons until after Rilyrr raised some "help".
(16) Aaron: Now, back to that chirping
whispering to Kaylin, Could.
(17) Kaylin: How about we try to beat them without killing hwhoever remains?
(20) Kibin: So we know that they have morals against killing.
(17) Kaylin: Really.
(16) Aaron: We need a way to easily identify, and potentially disable that chirping creature out there
(20) Kibin: (My turn yet?)
(17) Kaylin: Fascinating viewpoint, which I would love to discuss with you later....
(15) Elorin: No, they'd just prefer to avoid the hard work of a fight
(16) Aaron: Let us focus on the task at hand
(16) Aaron: This is not a time for moral quandries
(1) GM: The air elemental just kinda wanders off.
(16) Aaron: Has anyone spoted the chirping creature?
whispering to Kaylin, And the magic auras wander out of range.
(17) Kaylin: (poor thing probably got bored listening to adventurers argue :P)
(17) Kaylin: Well. Wonderful. The magic auras just went out of range.
(16) Aaron: So we follow them!
(20) Kibin: Why?
(20) Kibin: Did they take something from ours?
(20) Kibin: (of ours*)
(1) GM: ("from us" or "of ours", either way)
(17) Kaylin: besides doing their best to kill us? I don't think so...
(1) GM: Jason surveys the bodies.
(16) Aaron: Lets follow the human that ran off, can anyone find his tracks?
(1) GM: Jason: Their best wasn't very good.
(20) Kibin: Let's unstone that one person, then...
(17) Kaylin: I would say they were bandits... no more.
(17) Kaylin: He'll keep.
(16) Aaron: I think the poor sods we laid waste to were nothing more then mere bandits, but I feel like they may have been in league with something more
(17) Kaylin: Indeed.
(20) Kibin: Well, then, let's ask that bandit we stoned then.
(17) Kaylin: After we're sure he can't escape...
(20) Kibin: If you wish.
(16) Aaron: The trail is going to grow cold the longer we wait
(17) Kaylin: Let us be off in pursuit then.
(1) GM: Jason: Might we want to do some looting first?
(21) Aaron (enter): 15:18
(20) Kibin: Sure...
(16) Aaron (exit): 15:19
(1) GM: Jason: I mean really, if we are facing of against a druid, there won't be any of his tracks to follow. Besides, do any of us really know how to track, even for those bandits that did run?
(20) Kibin: I used to know, but not any more.
(17) Kaylin: I certainly am not adept in the ways of the wilderness.
(1) GM: Looking around, you find things, counting the stuff on the statue.
(1) GM: Aquamarine (Greenish-Blue color)
(1) GM: Andesine (Red-Orange color)
(1) GM: Smoky Quartz (Light Brown color)
(1) GM: Three Small Masterwork Chain Shirts
(1) GM: Three Cloaks
(1) GM: Three Slings + stones
(1) GM: Six Masterwork Small Daggers
(1) GM: 7 Medium Masterwork Shortswords
(1) GM: 3 Medium Masterwork Chain Shirts
(1) GM: 1584 gold pieces
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Detect Magic ( level 0, "Detects spells and magic items within 60 ft." )
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 0 Spell ( level 0, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(17) Kaylin: (I still have Arcane Sight up)
(20) Kibin: Can you unstone the bandit now?
(17) Kaylin: Just a second, let me identify these items first.
(15) Elorin: Should we tie him up first?
(20) Kibin: Elorin could do it a lot safer than you, Kaylin.
(17) Kaylin: Identify things?
(20) Kibin: There's six of us, one of him. He's not going anywhere.
** (21) Aaron grabs the statue **
(17) Kaylin: What if he has minor casting ability?
(20) Kibin: Then one of us will have a minor inconvienence.
(17) Kaylin: I would feel safer if any somatic movemtns were interfered with.
(20) Kibin: Nothing we can't handle.
(21) Aaron: I will keep hold of him
** (17) Kaylin looks at Aaron **
(15) Elorin: (is this one of the halflings or humans?)
(1) GM: Jason: You do that.
(17) Kaylin: That would certainly stop me from trying anything...
(1) GM: Human got stoned. Everyone else is either dead or fled.
(20) Kibin: (Or permantly insane.)
(17) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Analyze Dweomer ( level 6, "Reveals magical aspects of subject." )
(1) GM: Yeah. He fled.
(1) GM: You've got 19 items to ID. Which ones?
(17) Kaylin: (doesn't sound too insane to me :D)
(17) Kaylin: (not 4 of the swords.)
(1) GM: (I miscounted the number of opponents affected; the Insanity ray didn't hit anyone.)
(22) Kibin (enter): 15:25
(22) Kibin: (Poor person. :(
(20) Kibin (exit): 15:25
(22) Kibin: (What happened after that line?)
(1) GM: (Which line?)
(21) Aaron (exit): 15:26
(15) Elorin: (Poor person? we never got that line)
(23) Aaron (enter): 15:26
(22) Kibin: (The one I repeated.)
(22) Kibin: (Okay, the "Year. He fled." line.)
(22) Kibin: (yeah*)
(1) GM: Just a little item ID.
(22) Kibin: (If there's a treenode, I'd like it.)
(1) GM: Kaylin's got it, and hasn't shared yet.
(22) Kibin: (Okay then...)
** (22) Kibin asks Elorin, "Can you break that stoning enchantment now?" **
(17) Kaylin: Well... that's interesting...
(23) Aaron: What is?
(15) Elorin: Oh?
(17) Kaylin: they were well-outfitted fo common bandits.
** (17) Kaylin gets a comb out and starts combing hair while talking about the loot **
** (22) Kibin says, "They've been raiding caravans, probally full of magic items to the Archmages tower, for a while. What do you expect?" **
(23) Aaron: Either very successful bandits, or bandits who are being outfitted by someone else
(17) Kaylin: The archmages had rather poor guards then...
(1) GM: Jason: I'm guessing something other than standard issue-equipment.....
(17) Kaylin: Ick. Dirt all over me.
(17) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Prestiditation ( level 0, "Performs minor tricks." )
(23) Aaron: These items are a little too plentiful and too specific for caravan raids
(15) Elorin: (4 shortswords appear to have vanished from the list, and the remaining 3 don't have their magic ID'd)
(22) Kibin: Now can we get on with this?
(22) Kibin: (ping)
(15) Elorin: (there appears to have been a mixup with ID'ing stuff. see 4 lines up)
(1) GM: She didn't have the time to ID everything, and wanted to skip the swords - but yeah, there should have been four swords finished IDing.... here....
(23) Aaron: So, how do we wish to proceed?
(17) Kaylin: (oh, with the non-IDd swords, I'm going to use the determine the school ofmagic... [4d20] -> [16,2,15,11] = (44) at +31 each)
whispering to Kaylin, No specific school.
(1) GM: Jason: Oh, I imagine we break the stoning, and ask the young man very politely to tell us everything he knows about the raids and the Druid who was supporing him.
(23) Aaron: I like that plan
(22) Kibin: Yes.
(17) Kaylin: And I'll glare at him with blue eyes
(15) Elorin: Be ready to snatch his swords out of his hands the instant he changes back, too.
(1) GM: Jason: Oh, and take his stuff.
(1) GM: Jason: Dpm
(1) GM: Jason: We can't let him run around equipped for banditry, now can we?
** (23) Aaron grabs the statue **
(22) Kibin: Bah, all he can do is scratch me.
(22) Kibin: No, we can't.
(23) Aaron: Whenever you are ready to turn him back to flesh
(15) Elorin: this'll take a minute
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Break Enchantment ( level 5, "Frees subjects from enchantments, alterations, curses, and petrification" )
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 5 Spell ( level 5, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(15) Elorin: [1d20+15] -> [18,15] = (33)
(1) GM: Caster level check?
(15) Elorin: (already done)
(1) GM: And with that roll, I do believe you actually manage to break Kaylin's spell.
(17) Kaylin: (nice)
(1) GM: And the bandit tries to move....
** (23) Aaron holds tight **
(1) GM: Grapple check, not that it much matters [1d20+10+3] -> [7,10,3] = (20)
(1) GM: Aaron - opposed check?
** (22) Kibin makes sure he's on the other side of Aaron, for flanking(if possible) **
(23) Aaron: [1d20+26] -> [10,26] = (36)
(1) GM: Not possible in a grapple, although being in the grapple, he's denied his dex bonus to anyone outside it.....
(1) GM: And the bandits stays put.
(1) GM: Bandit: Wait a minute... how'd all y'all get over here so fast?
(23) Aaron: (I think kibin was more worried about if the bandit brok free)
(15) Elorin: You spent a few minutes as a statue
(22) Kibin: You got hit by a prismatic spray, and was turned to stone.
(22) Kibin: You were lucky that you didn't get killed.
(1) GM: Bandit: Not that I'm complaining, mind, but perchance is there a reason I'm not quite dead yet?
(23) Aaron: Now we have some questions to ask you
(15) Elorin: Yeah, we want to ask you a few questions
(15) Elorin: Kinda hard to ask them of a corpse
(17) Kaylin: And Kibin is really squeamish sometimes.
(1) GM: Bandit: Ah, I see, and then when I'm done answering, I'm dead. Such a better deal.
(22) Kibin: (There goes any chance of intimidation checks if needed...)
(22) Kibin: You have my word that I will not kill you.
(1) GM: The bandit rolls his eyes...
(17) Kaylin: Do I look like someone who'd kill in cold blood? *stares with glowing blue eyes*
(1) GM: Bandit: Yes. Well, as I don't have too much I can say about it.....
(23) Aaron: You can help us, and we will release you in good time
(17) Kaylin: Hmmph. {He doesn't trust me...}
(23) Aaron: But not before we have what we need
** (17) Kaylin stomps off a ways, out of peripheral vision **
(23) Aaron: And certainly not before you have been properly disarmed
** (22) Kibin goes to disarm him. **
(23) Aaron: Diplomacy Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [15,4] = (19)
(1) GM: The man looks around a bit, and decides that playing along is probably the best for now.
(17) Kaylin: (what choice has he got? :P)
(22) Kibin: (So do you want me to make rolls?)
(17) Kaylin: (there's a mountain holding on to him...)
(1) GM: Nah, he lets you take the stuff.
** (22) Kibin places the stuff down about 10 feet away from him. **
(23) Aaron: Ok, lets have a nice talk about your friends and what exactly you are all up to
(22) Kibin: (By him, I mean the bandit.)
(1) GM: Not that he has much, mind; a pair of shortswords and the armor on his back. Also his clothes, but I doubt you want that filthy and torn finery.
(23) Aaron: We know you aren't into simple banditry, and we know you are in league with a druid, care to expunge on this knowledge?
(1) GM: The bandit looks genuinely confused
(22) Kibin: [1d20+11] -> [5,11] = (16)
(23) Aaron: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [6,3] = (9)
(22) Kibin: (Sense motive in case it matters.)
(1) GM: Bandit: Druid? What druid? Sally came back from her trip to the city, and had some nice stuff for us.
whispering to Kibin, you don't notice anything out of place in his mannerisms.
(23) Aaron: Who is sally?
(22) Kibin: (Ping.)
(1) GM: Bandit: Oh, the only lady that would truck with us. Kept things right clean, she did. Fixed meals, too.
** (17) Kaylin refrains from commenting **
(23) Aaron: Wash she the one casting those spells during the battle?
(23) Aaron: Was*
(1) GM: Bandit: She was very nice. Brought back all this nifty equipment from her trip to the city. Don't know who she stoll it from.
(1) GM: Bandit: Spells? Only people to cast spells was you, well, and Fred and me, but those didn't turn out to well.
(22) Kibin: (I think you mean stole.)
(1) GM: (he's not exactly edumacated)
(22) Kibin: Did you turn the plants against us?
(1) GM: Bandit: Well, no, Fred turned the vines against ye. Only got that strange man who's not shivering, but that was Fred.
(1) GM: Bandit: Well, he got those odd plant-things of yer's, too....
(1) GM: Bandit: Some of 'em, anyway.
(23) Aaron: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [6,3] = (9)
(17) Kaylin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [3,2] = (5)
(22) Kibin: Can Fred or you cast a spell to change the weather?
(22) Kibin: [1d20+11] -> [6,11] = (17)
** (17) Kaylin looks at the bandit **
(17) Kaylin: (how strong of an aura is there?)
(1) Bandit: Change the weather? Whatever are you talking about?
(22) Kibin: Such as create a tornado.
whispering to Kaylin, He's got some slight Divine spellcasting ability, but no active effects.
(23) Aaron: Kibin, it is obvious he either doesn't know to what you are reffering, or refuses to admit if he does
(17) Kaylin: I don't think he couldn't have done it.
(1) Bandit: Bandit: Bah! Can't be done.
(17) Kaylin: Oh, it's easy.
whispering to Kibin, He believes he is telling the truth.
(23) Aaron: I think it would be best if we allowed our bandit friend here to take us to his camp
(22) Kibin: We do have something more important than a band of bandits, you know...
(17) Kaylin: Such as?
(15) Elorin: I rather think this "Sally" has either been fooling you all along or got replaced by someone else during her last trip to the city.
(22) Kibin: Such as why we came here in the first place?
(17) Kaylin: I suppose. But we could afford a little diversion.
(1) Bandit: Bandit: Nah, she's the same ole sally. Right good, seen 'er all over. No different.
(17) Kaylin: That sounds quite dreadful. *prim*
(22) Kibin: I really don't think this bandit knows anything.
(15) Elorin: There are ways to duplicate another person's appearance so that you'd never know the difference.
(22) Kibin: And it's pointless to chase after this,.
(23) Aaron: Kibin: Obviously something is afoul here, simple banditrs don't go around animating the plant life and calling powerfull storms
(1) Bandit: Bandit: Oh, this is a forest. Them
(1) Bandit: Them's lot o birds about.
(22) Kibin: And we can investigate that later.
(22) Kibin: When did any of us talk about birds?
(1) Bandit: The guy what's holden me mentioned 'em.
(22) Kibin: You mean afoul?
** (23) Aaron sighs **
(17) Kaylin: (gotta disappear for a little bit)
(1) Bandit: Yeah! That's what he said. He said something is a fowl here. Of course there's birds about. This is a forest, after all.
** (23) Aaron shakes the bandit a little **
(1) Bandit: Hey! What's that for?
(23) Aaron: What do you know about the birds?
(1) Bandit: They're everywhere. Bluejays, Eagles, Hawks ... they all eat different things, sometimes each other. Really fun to sneak up on them for a meal.
(22) Kibin: Can we stone him again, and come back for him later?
(23) Aaron: We need him to lead us to his camp
(15) Elorin: Forget about it, I think it's just a case of mistaken vocabulary.
(22) Kibin: That can still wait.
(23) Aaron: No it can't
(15) Elorin: Why not?
(22) Kibin: Those bandits aren't threatening much of anyone right now.
(15) Elorin: We did have some rather urgent business to take care of before we came here.
(15) Elorin: And we have what we need to do so now.
(22) Kibin: They're just doing a bit of petty theft, that's all.
(22) Kibin: We shouldn't keep that ghost waiting...
(23) Aaron: Oh no? They have destroyed my fort, nearly killed my men, and have been practicing banditry with absurd success
(22) Kibin: Yes, but your fort is only a fort of fewer than 20 men.
(1) Bandit: Jason: Yeah, some crazy gnome was transmorigying people into furniture. Killing him didn't work. Of course, it will probably still take a few days for that cscroll to be finished.
(15) Elorin: And the ghost we're after is a serious threat to many more than 20 people
(15) Elorin: I thought Kaylin said it was done
whispering to Aaron, Mostly an outpost for refilling caravans' food supplies, and sheltering from storms.
(22) Kibin: The scroll is done?
(22) Kibin: (Pin.g)
(1) Bandit: Jason: Nah, that's not what she said; she said she convinced the old man to make it.
(22) Kibin: The old man is making it?
(22) Kibin: Huh.
(22) Kibin: I wonder if he'd be done by now...
whispering to Bandit, [7*13*25] -> 2275
whispering to Kaylin, not quite yet; another day, probably.
(22) Kibin: (ping)
(15) Elorin: How long is that going to take?
(22) Kibin: Maybe we could go check on him?
(22) Kibin: That was a day or so ago, you know...
** (23) Aaron tells the bandit to stand **
(1) GM: Jason: Probably another day or so; it's only been a day or two, and scrolls of that magnitude can easily take three.
** (1) Bandit stands **
(22) Kibin: Hmmmmmmph.
(23) Aaron: Allright, you are going to take us to your camp
(1) Bandit: Oookay.....
** (22) Kibin sighs. "I hope this doesn't take too long..." **
(1) Bandit: The bandit starts walking into the woods.
(1) Bandit: Nice and slow.
** (22) Kibin follows. **
(1) Bandit: After a few minutes of walking.....
** (23) Aaron prods the bandit **
(23) Aaron: Don't try anything now
(1) Bandit: So, what do you expect to find at the camp?
(23) Aaron: Keep moving
(1) Bandit: Okay, okay.... sheesh, we're almost there, anyway.
(22) Kibin: Answers would be nice.
(23) Aaron: Then keep it down
(23) Aaron: Kibin, can you scout ahead?
(22) Kibin: Not so good at scouting now that I can't fly, but I'll try.
** (22) Kibin goes ahead, trying to vanish into the bushes. **
whispering to Kibin, You come across a crude camp, set into a small mountain cave. A virtually smokeless fire that looks like it was recently attended burns under a cookpot, nobody is around. A few things lie nearby.
(22) Kibin (whispering): I go look at these things, then.
whispering to Kibin, pots, pans, a little rope, some canvas, a few spare sets of clean women's clothing. Nothing of particular interest.
(22) Kibin (whispering): I go back to everyone else, then.
** (22) Kibin goes back to the group after a while. **
(23) Aaron: What did you find?
(22) Kibin: The camp is there.
(1) GM: Jason: Anything interesting?
(24) Kibin (enter): 16:15
(23) Aaron: Better yet, what is the layout, and what is the best way to approach undedected
(15) Elorin: Is there even anyone there?
(24) Kibin: Well, the easiest way to approach undetected is to walk.
(22) Kibin (exit): 16:16
(24) Kibin: Nope, noone there.
(23) Aaron: Signs of a quick exit?
(24) Kibin: There's a few pots and pans and stuff, a bit of rope that might be useful. Nothing much, though.
(23) Aaron: I wasn't asking if there was anything useful
(23) Aaron: I was asking if it looked like the inhabitants of the camp had made a hasty retreat
(24) Kibin: Look for yourself...
** (23) Aaron jostles the bandit **
(23) Aaron: Where would they go?
(1) Bandit: Go? Here. Scatter, maybe, if we though trouble was seekin' us out.
(24) Kibin: Well, lets see. Probally somewhere away from here?
(23) Aaron: Did you have a place you would go to regroup if the camp wasn't an option?
(17) Kaylin: (back)
(1) Bandit: Oh, not really. If camp's not an option, and we've been scattered, being all in one spot's bad juju.
(23) Aaron: (recap, we have gone to the bandit camp, it is empty, kibin has been annoying)
** (23) Aaron jostles the bandit **
(17) Kaylin: (lol)
(1) Bandit: What?
(23) Aaron: You must have a place you would go to regroup if you become seperated
(24) Kibin: (No, I just think this has been pointless. :P)
(1) Bandit: Yeah. Here. Normally we ain't captured, and just hide out somewhere, maybe do a little scoutin, 'till there ain't nuttin on the shore.
(23) Aaron: Hmmm
(23) Aaron: Any ideas?
(24) Kibin: Leave it alone?
(1) Bandit: (although we aren't in the bandit camp; Kibin's the only one who went to look)
(24) Kibin: I mean, unless you want to go through the entire forest searching...
(23) Aaron: Something doesn't add up here
(24) Kibin: (Ping again.)
** (23) Aaron reaches one hand into his pocket and pulls out his iron bands of billarro **
(1) Bandit: What don't add up? You killed Fred, Barney, Joe, Sam, an Charlie, and stoned me. What's left to add?
** (23) Aaron uses iron bands of billaro on the bandit **
(17) Kaylin: Who was messing around with the weather, then?
(24) Kibin: Sally.
(23) Aaron: Actually, the bandit denied it was sally
(24) Kibin: She decieved the bandits, didn't tell them that she was a powerful druid.
** (23) Aaron sets bandit on the ground **
(17) Kaylin: Oh, I'm sorry. I must have stopped paying attention at some point a while ago..
(1) Bandit: Wha'ch you talkin' bout? This here's storm country. Storms happen. Sure, it was Sally what found out the fort was smashed, and would be good to loot,
(24) Kibin: For her own reasons, she attacked the fort, and helped these bandits raid caravans headed towards the arch mages tower.
(23) Aaron: Kibin, any particular reason you are so againts anyone harming these bandits
(23) Aaron: or pursuin them in any manner
** (23) Aaron draws falchion **
(1) Bandit: but cause a storm? Hain't never seen no one do nutin like that.
(1) Bandit: Ah, man, and here I was hopin I wouldn't get kilt.
(17) Kaylin: Hey, now, nobody's going to be killed just yet...
(1) Bandit: Yeah, um, so what's with the big sword, then?
(24) Kibin: Because killing them when they're not going to hurt us anyway is pointless? I would rather people be missing a few items, than be dead.
(17) Kaylin: Boyish high spirits.
(15) Elorin: See him? (pointing at Rilyrr) He can do it. He can also end storms, and he had trouble doing so with the one that smashed the fort. The only thing that could give him trouble is if someone else were magically causing the storm.
(17) Kaylin: That was a skilled caster. A druid. Had their own version of the spell too, better than I could cast it...
(23) Aaron: Kibin, you got about five seconds to convince me you aren't in league with these bandits
(1) Bandit: No kidden? You can make it rain?
(17) Kaylin: Aaron, put the sword away.
(17) Kaylin: Kibin has been with us for ages.
(24) Kibin: Well, I'm not stealing from anyone, am I?
(1) GM: Rilyrr: Yeah, sure; give me a few minutes.....
(1) GM: Rilyrr concentrates for a bit....
(17) Kaylin: He'll be a while...
(1) GM: Rilyrr: There, now in about ten minutes, we should have a nice, warm, spring rain.
(24) Kibin: Is there something wrong with trying to avoid someones death?
(17) Kaylin: Argh, more mud.
(23) Aaron: Tell me something kibin, if I walk into that camp am I going to find it deserted?
(1) GM: Jason: Really, death isn't pretty.
(23) Aaron: Or am I going to find it crawling with this bandints friends?
(24) Kibin: You should if noone came in it after I got there.
** (23) Aaron starts walking towards the camp **
(24) Kibin: You could have let those bandits simply run away, and spared them.
whispering to Aaron, You come across a crude camp, set into a small mountain cave. A virtually smokeless fire that looks like it was recently attended burns under a cookpot, nobody is around. A few things lie nearby.
(17) Kaylin: I probably should have.
(1) GM: Jason: Sometimes needed, though....
(17) Kaylin: Who was it that was talking at us?
(24) Kibin: When it's needed, that's okay.
(23) Aaron: I refuse to let bandits run wild over the landscape
(17) Kaylin: At the beginning?
** (23) Aaron goes back to the bound bandit **
(1) Bandit: Uhh... that was Fred. Not me. Nope. I'm not the one what demanded all your stuff.
** (1) Bandit Very Poor liar **
** (17) Kaylin walks over to the bandit **
** (23) Aaron grabs the bandit and takes back the iron bands of billaro **
(24) Kibin: Then we can take him to the authorities.
(17) Kaylin: what possibly made you think you could rob us?
(23) Aaron: And the magic user that was assisting him?
(24) Kibin: (ping)
(1) Bandit: Well, you the only real magic users we've seen. Sure, we could do a few little tricks, some minor healings, but nuttin like what you guys showed. We weren't spectin any magic. Most caravans were willin to let stuff go without too much of a hassle, and those what weren't ... well, they usually were, after a few minor tricks.
(17) Kaylin: I see...
(24) Kibin: Reasonable.
(24) Kibin: (ping)
(1) Bandit: So, umm ... can I go now?
(17) Kaylin: Go where?
(1) Bandit: Away from the really strong guy holding my arm? The smart lady that flattened four of my buddies with a wave of her hand?
(1) Bandit: And me?
(23) Aaron: I think we should wait for your friends
** (1) Bandit looks at Jason **
(1) Bandit: And away from the dead guy?
(24) Kibin: If we're there, they won't come...
(1) Bandit: He makes me nervous......
(17) Kaylin: Well. I personally support trying to get them honest...
(17) Kaylin: You're aware that if we so desired we could scry on you at any time? Especially, say, if you started stealing again...
(24) Kibin: All they have to do is hide from a distance, and we'll never know they're there.
(23) Aaron: Or we could hide outside their camp, and wait for them to return
(1) Bandit: What friends? Sally won't likely be returnin after this, and Jamal ... well, that little halfling's got legs, I'll give 'im that.
(24) Kibin: Not everyone is as good at hiding as me and those bandists.
(1) Bandit: A gentle, warm spring rain starts to fall.
(24) Kibin: (bandits*)
(1) Bandit: Well I'll be...... you can change the weather. Huh. Learn sumptin' new ery day.
(24) Kibin: Probally hard to do, though.
(17) Kaylin: Takes a while to learn, certainly.
(1) GM: Rilyrr: Oh, takes some effort, yes..... but now that the demonstration is over....
(24) Kibin: Okay, so we know that none of the bandits probally know who Sally is, and that Sally probally will not be returning.
(1) GM: Rilyrr concentrates for a bit, and the rain dribbles off.
(24) Kibin: (Actually...)
(24) Kibin: (It's not dispellable. :P)
(24) Kibin: (You can take a standard action to gradually change the weather...)
(24) Kibin: (Anyway...)
(1) GM: (he simply changed it again....)
(24) Kibin: (Yeah. :P_
(24) Kibin: (Did you know it lasts twice as long for druids?)
(1) GM: (Yep)
(24) Kibin: So... Do you still want to wait for these bandits, which will probally result in nothing?
(24) Kibin: Or can we go back and wait for the scroll to be ready?
(17) Kaylin: Well. We need to figure out what to do with this bloke here...
(1) That Bloke: I'm all for letting me go......
(24) Kibin: Stone him so he won't run away, and bring him to authorities of some type.
** (23) Aaron jostles that bloke **
(17) Kaylin: How come you're in a bandit group, anyways?
(24) Kibin: Aaron, stop jostling him.
(1) Bandit: What?
(24) Kibin: Kaylin, I believe you have a flesh to stone spell?
(17) Kaylin: Not prepared, and that'd make him really heavy.
(17) Kaylin: Besides, I'm inclined to distrust most 'authorities'...
(1) Bandit: Oh, just sorta happened. Got desprate for cash and, well, merchants come through here all the time... they got lots....
(24) Kibin: I doubt Aaron here would like just letting him go.
(17) Kaylin: And I really see little point in sticking someone in a cage for 15 years.
(17) Kaylin: Perhaps we could work out a compromise?
** (23) Aaron lets go of the bandit **
(23) Aaron: We aren't getting anywhere
** (1) Bandit carefully starts inching away..... **
** (23) Aaron grabs the bandit **
(17) Kaylin: Where were you planning on going?
(1) Bandit: Away from the big guy with the sword who looks like he'd rather cut me head off.
(24) Kibin: (I think Rilyrr would fall asleep soon.)
(17) Kaylin: (he probably already has)
(17) Kaylin: I personally like the idea of releasing him into normal society... well, normal human 'society'... on probation.
(24) Kibin: (Ping)
(24) Kibin: So release him, check up on him every now and then?
(17) Kaylin: Exactly.
(23) Aaron: (uhh, ya'll do realize this is medieval society right?)
(24) Kibin: Sounds good.
(17) Kaylin: (So elves are a little bit more cultured...)
(24) Kibin: (Yeah. Your point?)
(23) Aaron: (probation wasn't exactly a part of medieval society)
(24) Kibin: (We can add it in. :P)
(17) Kaylin: (Good point...)
(17) Kaylin: (What's the GM think?)
(1) Bandit: It's a Romanticized medieval society. Lots of the nitty-gritty gets glossed over/removed/ignored
(17) Kaylin: ('cause nobody really likes all the icky stuff :D)
(24) Kibin: (Now then...)
(1) GM: (You've already convinced him you can do what you say, beteween the blast of light that killed three of his buddies and stoned him, and changing the weather)
(24) Kibin: (Oh. And there's me, who can disarm people fairly easily, and kind of hard to cut. :P)
(17) Kaylin: (never mess with adventurers)
(1) GM: Bandit: Ah, yes.... that sounds like a good compormise.... check up on me every now and again .... I'm sure you have a mirror for that...
(17) Kaylin: Aaron, were you planning on going to any particular place or were you just going to join us?
(24) Kibin: Actually, we don't need a mirror, I think.
(1) GM: (Specially when, as a group, you're an appropriet level CR challenge.....)
(17) Kaylin: I don't, Elorin doesn't. Mirrors are for younger people.
(1) GM: Bandit: You look so young.....
(24) Kibin: Aaron, if you would kindly let him go?
** (23) Aaron lets him go again **
(17) Kaylin: We should probably catch up with the people from your fort, too...
(1) GM: This time, he tries a full Withdrawl, back into the forest.
(17) Kaylin: Have fun living as a hermit
** (24) Kibin sighs. "That was unnessecary..." **
(17) Kaylin: Well, that's one problem less to worry about...
(24) Kibin: Let's go rest now.
(23) Aaron: I hope your right Kaylin
(17) Kaylin: He will probably be back, if he really thinks about what he's doing.
(23) Aaron: I hope the decision to let him go doesn't come back to get us
(17) Kaylin: I believe he's aware of the dangers of approaching us while hostile.
(24) Kibin: We should be going to a place 50 miles or so away from here, he won't bother us there.
(24) Kibin: Kaylin, would you be kind and teleport us back to the carriage and wagon?
(17) Kaylin: Hmmm. Just a second...
** (17) Kaylin shouts out "Last chance... we're teleporting away soon..." **
(1) GM: Bandit: Have fun! I'm getting away from the mean guy!
(17) Kaylin: "We can control him for a while..." Can we?
(1) GM: You don't hear a reply from the bandit as he vanishes into the forest.
(17) Kaylin: Oh well. Let's go, then.
(1) GM: Jason calls Winddancer over, walks into her, and then lands on Kaylin's shoulder.
** (17) Kaylin strokes the bird's back **
(17) Kaylin: Ready everyone?
** (24) Kibin touches Kaylin's hand to teleport. **
(1) GM: Winddancer chirps.
(17) Kaylin: Aaron, have you been teleported before?
(23) Aaron: Yes
(17) Kaylin: (are the wagon/carriage by the old man's plac?)
(1) GM: Yep.
(24) Kibin: I'm ready.
(17) Kaylin: (how well do I know the place by now?)
(1) GM: Studied Carefully.
(24) Kibin: (Well enough, probally.)
(24) Kibin: (After all, you can teleport us again if we fail.)
(17) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Teleport ( level 5, "Instantly transports you anywhere." )
(17) Kaylin: (*foof* cue swirly graphics)
(1) GM: [1d100] -> [88] = (88)
(17) Kaylin: (that was no coincidence :P)
(1) GM: And you arrive, on target.
(24) Kibin: (SWIRLY!)
(24) Kibin: (Anything interesting here?)
(1) GM: Lots of snow, some light, calm weather......
(24) Kibin: (I assume we're inside the cave.)
(1) GM: No, it's teleport blocked.....
(24) Kibin: (Okay, so we're outside, and we walk in. :P)
(1) Old Man: Not quite done yet.
** (23) Aaron follows them in **
(24) Kibin: Okay, then...
** (24) Kibin sits down in the wagon. **
(1) Old Man: You see an old man, working busilly on some leather.
(24) Kibin: What's the leather for?
(1) Old Man: In a cave. He doesn't seem dressed for the chill in the room, but doens't seem to be bothered by it at all.
(1) Old Man: What do you think scrolls are on?
(24) Kibin: Paper?
(1) Old Man: This one's a little too valuable to put on something so flimsy.
(24) Kibin: Ah, okay.
(24) Kibin: Maybe I can convince the ghost to use the scroll on me...
(1) Old Man: Oh, as long as you're here, woulld you mind going on a little trip to fetch something for me?
(24) Kibin: Sure, what do you need?
(17) Kaylin: Sure, I wasn't planning on doing anything.
(1) Old Man: Well, there's a few old bones under a mountain I'd like back. Used to belong to a friend of mine; owe her a favor. I'd appreciate it if you could bring them back to me.
(23) Aaron: So, that is why you were so obsessed with getting back to the cave
(23) Aaron: Selfishness
** (17) Kaylin stares at Aaron **
(17) Kaylin: er... what?
(23) Aaron: Kibin
(1) Old Man: Don't need all of them, just a few chips would do; I can Call for the full Ressurection, but don't know quite enough about her to just dictate who she was.
(23) Aaron: Why he wanted so badly to forget about the bandits
(24) Kibin: No...
(17) Kaylin: Possible, but I somehow doubt it.
(24) Kibin: Well, I would like to be back in my old form.
(17) Kaylin: I'll see what I can do, Teacher. Where is the mountain?
(17) Kaylin: which old form is that, Kibin?
(24) Kibin: The one I had before I died the second time.
(1) Old Man: Oh, not too far, by Teleport. Already have a circle ready, figured you'd be willing. Just walk on through.
(17) Kaylin: You know me too well.
(1) Old Man: The old man absently gestures, and a rug is removed, revealing a chalk circle on the floor.
(24) Kibin: By any chance, would there be any surprises waiting for us?
** (17) Kaylin heads on over **
(1) Old Man: Meanwhile, I'll finish this.
(1) Old Man: If there weren't, I'd go myself. So much easier for the young to deal with such things, though.
(24) Kibin: Hmmmph.
(24) Kibin: I just hope I don't die again...
(24) Kibin: (And I hope we can finish up the ghost plot in the next two hours. :P
(1) Old Man: Old Man: Oh, and that leads to the only room where teleportation really works; do be careful.
(17) Kaylin: We'll try, though some of us might want to walk into a wall or two again.
(17) Kaylin: Who wants to go?
(24) Kibin: I'll go.
(1) Old Man: Jason steps out of Winddancer.
** (23) Aaron grumbles **
(1) GM: Jason: I'm game.
(23) Aaron: Thought my adventuring days were over
(23) Aaron: I'll go
(17) Kaylin: Out of curiosity, what are we likely to encounter there?
(15) Elorin: I'll go
** (24) Kibin wonders what color his blood is now. Hmmm. **
(1) GM: Old Man: Not really sure .... scrying's blocked, too; whatever it was was capable of killing a grown dragon, though. You'll also run into whatever of her defensese are left standing, so tread carefully.
(17) Kaylin: Perhaps this would be better approached after a night of rest and preparation?
(17) Kaylin: I've come too close to death today to feel entirely comfortable about walking into a probable trap.
(24) Kibin: Who is your friend, anyway?
(1) GM: Old Man: The grown dragon.
(24) Kibin: Ah.
** (24) Kibin wonders what exactly he's been DOING while we've been gone... **
(17) Kaylin: (flirting, apparently...)
(17) Kaylin: So. Should we tackle this today or tomorrow?
(17) Kaylin: I'd prefer tomorrow.
(15) Elorin: Whichever
(24) Kibin: Tomorrow is good, too.
(23) Aaron: Rest may be a good idea
(1) GM: Old Man: Silver, you'll like her. I suppose it can wait; bones, after all.
** (23) Aaron finds a comfortable spot near the cave wall **
** (17) Kaylin goes and sits on a cushion in the carriage **
(1) GM: The old man rolls his eyes. Here.....
(1) GM: The old man casts, and a door appears on the wall.
(1) GM: There, go rest up in a Mansion.
(24) Kibin: Cool.
(15) Elorin: Thank you
** (24) Kibin goes on in. **
(17) Kaylin: Mind if I stay here?
(1) GM: Old Man: Yeah, just be careful with anything extradimensional.....
(24) Kibin: Well, in that case, I'll go stay with Kaylin.
** (23) Aaron stays put **
(1) GM: Old Man: If you like. Probably a little cold in here for you, though.
(24) Kibin: Not for me.
(1) GM: The next day......
(1) GM: Old Man: Well, ready to go?
(1) GM: Dinner....
(24) Kibin: Is teleporting blocked throughout that entire cave?
(15) Elorin: (Kibin, whichever sword you're using is +5 today)
(24) Kibin: Or most of it, anyway...
(24) Kibin: (YAY! :P)
(24) Kibin: (aw. :(
(17) Kaylin: (guess I'll step out for a bit then... about time to prepare my own food)
(24) Kibin: (Okay then...
(24) Kibin: (You people need to speed up combat. :P)
(24) Kibin: (*must resolve ghost conflict this week!!!*)
(24) Kibin: (MUST!)
(24) Kibin: (What are you whispering about. :P)
(17) Kaylin: (PBW game)
(15) Elorin: (Kyth's Adamant Roleplay #2)
(15) Elorin: (Violist is playing a Nomad race, I'm playing a normal race, we met each other early, and we're discussing me buying super-low-maintenance ships)
(24) Kibin: (Interesting.)
(24) Kibin: (Ping.)
(24) Kibin: (Ping.)
(15) Elorin: (pong)
(24) Kibin: (Ping.)
(24) Kibin: (Just making sure I don't disconnect.)
(24) Kibin: (Ping.)
(23) Aaron: (stop it!)
(24) Kibin: (Why?)
(23) Aaron: (no reason, it is just annoying)
(1) GM: Cause it padds the log?
(24) Kibin: (Ah.)
(24) Kibin: (Well, me prone to disconnects for some reason.)
(15) Elorin: (plus, I think just doing something that makes your status change is enough to make it check for a disconnect)
** (1) Monster found the F7 macro key **
(24) Kibin: (Hmmmm.)
(24) Kibin: (Hehe. O.o)
(24) Kibin: (Anyway... On with the plot?)
(15) Elorin: (Kaylin doesn't seem to be back yet)
(24) Kibin: (Meh.)
** (1) GM found the F7 macro key **
** (1) GM found the F8 macro key **
(24) Kibin: (Congraduations! :P)
** (24) Kibin draws in the snow while waiting for Kaylin to prepare her spells. **
** (24) Kibin tries to make a little house. **
(1) Jack Simth: Kibin makes a little image of a house in the snow.
** (24) Kibin then makes more little images of houses, making a village. **
** (24) Kibin populates the village with little stick people. **
(1) Jack Simth: The old man grins, wiggles his fingers a little, and the little stick people start farming.
** (24) Kibin watches the little stick people in the snow move. Huh. **
** (24) Kibin adds a forest, and a few mountains. **
(17) Kaylin: (back)
(17) Kaylin: (biked down to the new house and got lost on the way back :P)
(17) Kaylin: (stupid small roads)
(24) Kibin: (Don't ask about the village. :P)
(1) Jack Simth: So we have Kibin, Kaylin, and Elorin - is Aaron in?
(23) Aaron: (east side!)
(1) Jack Simth: That's a full party, then.
** (24) Kibin adds a few stick horses, sheep, and wolves near the forest. **
(1) Jack Simth: The next day, after a hero's feast and some spell preparation ... everyone goes through the old man's teleportatino circle?
(1) Jack Simth: And the little stick wolves eat the horses, sheep, and stick townspeople.
** (24) Kibin frowns. Poor stick people. **
(1) Jack Simth: Old Man: Well, you ready?
(24) Kibin: Yeah.
(17) Kaylin: Certainly.
** (24) Kibin goes over to the party and follows them through the teleportation circle. **
** (23) Aaron follows **
(1) Jack Simth: As does Jason, leaving Winddancer back where it's realatively safe.
** (17) Kaylin lets someone else lead **
(1) Jack Simth: You find yourselves in a dark room, with no light whatsoever.
(1) Jack Simth: Who all has darkvision?
(17) Kaylin: (me)
(24) Kibin: Ah great. Just great.
** (23) Aaron is wearing goggles of darkness **
(23) Aaron: googles of night*
(23) Aaron: (60ft darkvision)
(24) Kibin: (Not me. :(
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Daylight ( level 3, "60-ft. radius of bright light" )
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 3 Spell ( level 3, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(24) Kibin: Thank you.
(17) Kaylin: Agh, light.
(1) Jack Simth: Elorin illuminates the room; it's a basic stone-walled receiveing room, with a couch on one wall, and a few tapestries. Everything has a thick coating of dust. There is exactly one door in the room.
(1) Jack Simth: It's heavy wood. There's no other entrance.
(17) Kaylin: Well... I think there are few doubts about which way we should go...
(17) Kaylin: Anyone care to look for secret doors?
(17) Kaylin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [5,10] = (15)
(15) Elorin: And check for traps, too
(24) Kibin: Sure...
(15) Elorin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [1,2] = (3)
(23) Aaron: Search Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [10,2] = (12)
** (15) Elorin finds nothing **
** (24) Kibin searches the room and door for traps and secret doors. **
** (15) Elorin loses track of his bow for a moment :P **
(1) Jack Simth: Search Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [14,10] = (24)
(24) Kibin: [1d20+19] -> [4,19] = (23)
whispering to Kibin, There's a mechanism connected to the door; and a switch under the couch that seems to be related.
** (24) Kibin fiddles under the couch for a moment. **
(24) Kibin (whispering): And I foolishly use the switch.
(1) GM: Nothing appears to happen.
** (24) Kibin then tries opening the door. **
(24) Kibin: (*is scared*)
(1) GM: It opens with no problems, to a vast chamber, and a small balcony, which extends about ten feet from the door, with a railing.
(24) Kibin: Hey, it worked.
** (23) Aaron passes through the door **
(1) GM: Aaron arrives safely on the other side of the door.
** (17) Kaylin cautiously goes through **
(24) Kibin: (Stop being anti-climatic. :P
** (24) Kibin follows. **
(1) GM: Let's see... how much weight is on that balcony, now?
(17) Kaylin: (so much for anticlimatic)
(24) Kibin: (Grrr. :P)
(1) GM: Four full-sized people, with armor......
(23) Aaron: (About 250 for Aaron and all his equipment)
(17) Kaylin: (with all my kit and stuff I'm about 105 pounds)
(24) Kibin: (I have no armor. :P)
(1) GM: The balcony creaks.
(24) Kibin: (I have...1.75 pounds of stuff on me.)
** (17) Kaylin jumps back off it **
** (23) Aaron looks over the edge **
(24) Kibin: How about I go ahead?
(1) GM: It's quite dark, and the pit extends past your darkvision.
(24) Kibin: Hmmmm.
(24) Kibin: On second thought, I can't see.
(23) Aaron: (can I see the other sides of the room?)
(17) Kaylin: (yeah, that's what I was getting)
(1) GM: No. It's a very big room.
(17) Kaylin: (so for you that's.. 8 and 13ish?)
(24) Kibin: Okay, then...
(1) GM: Kaylin, do you happen to have a couple featherfalls handy?
(17) Kaylin: (oops, forgot to whisper. Sorry)
(24) Kibin: There's probally something in here that killed a dragon, so we should be careful.
(17) Kaylin: (I have 1 featherfall, plus my own Ring of Feather falling)
(23) Aaron: Only one way to find out
** (23) Aaron leaps over the ledge **
(15) Elorin: (the Daylight I cast moves with me)
(1) GM: Any equipment that might stop your fall?
(23) Aaron: Featherfall ring
(1) GM: After a long, long time, you hit the ground.
(24) Kibin: Hmmmm.
(23) Aaron: (what do I see?)
(1) GM: A very big chamber, with a tiled floor. Lacking color vision, you can't tell if there are any patterns to it.
(24) Kibin: Okay, now, anyone else want to jump over?
(1) GM: Jason: Yeah, sure.
(1) GM: Jason steps over the edge and doesn't fall.
(24) Kibin: Hmmm.
(1) GM: Jason: Well, I'll go see if he lives.
(1) GM: Jason walks down.
(15) Elorin: Jump? No. Wind Walk? Sure. Who else wants to Wind Walk down?
(24) Kibin: Okay then.
(17) Kaylin: That sounds good to me.
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Wind Walk ( level 6, "You and your allies turn vaporous and travel fast" )
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 6 Spell ( level 6, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(24) Kibin: Actually, wind walk would be perfect.
** (24) Kibin zooms down there with Elorin, then. **
(1) GM: Down at the floor, the chamber is rather warm.
(1) GM: It's quite a distance.
(24) Kibin: That's odd.
(1) GM: And, when Elorin gets down with the light, you can clearly see some intricate patterns on the tiled floor. They seem to extend a long ways off.
(24) Kibin: Hmmmmm...
(24) Kibin: Who wants to be impulsive and follow these patterns?
(17) Kaylin: How about the light man?
(1) GM: The wall appears to be cut and dressed stone.... with blocks roughly 10 feet tall.
(17) Kaylin: Looks like someone spent a lot of magic to get this room built.
(23) Aaron: Or alot of manpower
(17) Kaylin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+31] -> [7,31] = (38)
(24) Kibin: Eh, dragons have a lot of time on their hands. Or claws.
(23) Aaron: Or monster power as the case maybe
whispering to Kaylin, not magicaly shaped stone.
(23) Aaron: Knowledge: Arcana Skill Check: [1d20+19] -> [12,19] = (31)
(23) Aaron: Knowledge: History Skill Check: [1d20+19] -> [12,19] = (31)
(23) Aaron: (Arcane and history, to see if I know anything about this place)
(24) Kibin: Or feet. Hmmm.
(17) Kaylin: (You have better Knowledge(History) rolls than I do... wow.)
** (24) Kibin wonders again what the correct term would be. **
whispering to Unknown!, The patterns look similar to those the emporor of Rohim once commisioned; it was said he saw them in a dream.
13 Unknown!
whispering to Aaron, The patterns look similar to those the emporor of Rohim once commisioned; it was said he saw them in a dream.
(24) Kibin: Anyway, shall we proceed already?
(23) Aaron: Hmmm
whispering to Aaron, He thought they would bring him luck. There was certainly one visitor who was impressed with them.
(23) Aaron: These patterns look similar to patterns once commisioned by the emporer of Rohim
(24) Kibin: And what is that?
whispering to Aaron, A tile picture, designed to be seen from far above. Pity the light doesn't reach far enough to get the whole picture.
(24) Kibin: I don't know much about history.
(23) Aaron: It was said he saw them in a dream, he thought they would bring him luck,
(24) Kibin: Interesting.
(1) Jason: Listen check?
(17) Kaylin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [4,4] = (8)
(24) Kibin: [1d20+18] -> [13,18] = (31)
(23) Aaron: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [3,3] = (6)
(15) Elorin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+10] -> [6,10] = (16)
(1) Jason: You hear a vast, echoing, nothingness.
(24) Kibin: (Wow, that was a waste of a perfectly good listen check.)
(24) Kibin: So, I ask again. What do we do now?
whispering to Kibin, You, however, manage to make out the ruslte of feathers .....
(23) Aaron: Walk, what else?
** (23) Aaron begins walking away from the entrance **
(24) Kibin: Hmmmm.
(24) Kibin: Jason, you left winddancer back at the cave, right?
(1) Jason: One of the segments of tile makes what appears to be a large, yellow ribbon.
(17) Kaylin: (noooo)
(17) Kaylin: (not the yellow tile ribbon)
(1) Jason: Jason: Right.
(24) Kibin: Follow the yellow brick road...
(24) Kibin: Just thought I heard a bird, or something.
** (23) Aaron walks to the yellow ribbon **
(17) Kaylin: Hey, I know...
(17) Kaylin: why don't we walk off the yellow path?
(1) Jason: Jason: Odd, what kind of a bird would like this place?
(24) Kibin: Why?
(17) Kaylin: It's a little too conspicuous for my taste.
(1) Jason: Jason: Oh, and don't forget to watch for traps.
(24) Kibin: Oh yeah. Right.
(24) Kibin: [1d20+19] -> [8,19] = (27)
(24) Kibin: (Have to go in an hour...)
** (17) Kaylin walks in the back and off the yellowness a bit **
(1) Jason: You hear a click.
(1) Jason: And the lights come on.
** (24) Kibin stops. **
(1) Jason: You can claearly see all the way across the room - over a mile.
(24) Kibin: There's lights?
(23) Aaron: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [20,3] = (23)
(24) Kibin: Whoa...
(17) Kaylin: Hmm. Big room.
(1) Jason: n the middle, there's a pillar, with a what looks like a nest on top.
(24) Kibin: Okay, that's probally where we'll find the bones.
(17) Kaylin: (Do dragons nest?)
(24) Kibin: I hope.
(23) Aaron: Jason. can you fly up and check out that nest?
(24) Kibin: (In piles of gold, yes.)
(1) Jason: The nest appears to be made of straw.
(1) Jason: Jason: Yeah, sure....
(1) Jason: Jason takes off at a run.
(1) Jason: And goes. And goes. And goes.
(1) Jason: You lose sight of him after about five minutes.
** (23) Aaron walks behind... slowly **
(1) Jason: After about twenty minutes, Jason returns.
(24) Kibin: Yup, dragons have way too much time on their hands.
(1) Jason: Jason: Oookay. That's not straw.
(24) Kibin: What is it?
(1) Jason: Those are tree trunks, stripped of bark.
(23) Aaron: Gold?
(24) Kibin: Huh.
(23) Aaron: Wow, and nesting in it?
(24) Kibin: Anything up there?
(1) GM: Jason: Yeah. Seems to have been disturbed a little by the light. A rather sizeable eagle.
(24) Kibin: Any bones?
** (24) Kibin thinks, "Please be easy, please be easy..." **
(1) GM: Jason: Yep. Using them to cleaning it's beak. That dragon femur looked positively small.
(24) Kibin: Okay then...
(17) Kaylin: That's a big eagle, certainly.
(24) Kibin: Think you could silently pilfer a bone, and we can get out of here?
(23) Aaron: Wait, are we sure those bones are that of a dragon?
(1) GM: Jason: I recognized the anatomy. Pretty sure it was a dragon bone.
(24) Kibin: Okay then. Please get a bone, or at least a chip of a bone, without the eagle noticing?
(1) GM: Jason: It's in the middle of using them. I don't think I could really evade it's notice.
(1) GM: Jason: Not and grab a piece.
(24) Kibin: Bah. What about taking control of it, or something?
(1) GM: Jason: Do you think you could distract it while I try?
(24) Kibin: Okay...
(24) Kibin: Of course, you could always distract it.
(24) Kibin: Since you're all... incorporeal and stuff.
(1) GM: Jason: Well, I suppose the worst it could do is kill me again.....
(24) Kibin: And we're fleshy.
(17) Kaylin: Who'd steal the bone then?
(23) Aaron: Or one of our mage friends could use an illusion to distract it
(17) Kaylin: I'm not really an illusionist.
(15) Elorin: What about having Rilyrr talk with it? Shouldn't a druid be able to convince an eagle to part with one bone?
(17) Kaylin: Worth a shot...
(1) GM: Jason: Did he come?
(15) Elorin: (guess not)
(24) Kibin: Hmmmph. Fine, we're distract him.
(24) Kibin: As long as Kaylin's ready to teleport us out on a moments notice, once we have the bone.
(23) Aaron: This place is supposed to block teleports right?
** (23) Aaron attempts to become psionicly focused **
(23) Aaron: Concentration Skill Check: [1d20+14] -> [16,14] = (30)
(24) Kibin: No, it's supposed to stop SCRYING.
(1) GM: Jason: That's what the man said.
(24) Kibin: Technically.
(24) Kibin: I think.
(23) Aaron: I believe he stated that teleportation would only work in the entry hall
(24) Kibin: Crud.
(24) Kibin: So we're going to have to be running for 10 minutes?!?
(23) Aaron: Which means whoever engages the bird is in it for the win
(23) Aaron: All right, does anyone have anything that can grant invisibility, or grant increased speed
(17) Kaylin: I can Haste you all.
(1) GM: Jason: For a time, I can make those close to me unseen.
(24) Kibin: Okay, let's do it.
(23) Aaron: That won't help
(24) Kibin: Let's go...
(23) Aaron: You need to get the bone
(24) Kibin: Can we please go already?
(24) Kibin: Doesn't seem like we have much of a choice..
(1) GM: I can also do so for another.... you'll probably want to get together and hold hands, to keep track of each other. Who gets the spell?
(24) Kibin: Hmmmm.
(24) Kibin: Unless you want to try scaring it away.
(1) GM: Jason: Only lasts a few minutes, though.....
(24) Kibin: Which is a valid possibility.
(24) Kibin: And it would help a bit in getting out of here, possibly...
(1) GM: We might want to get closer before we cast it, though.....
(1) GM: Jason: It's quite the walk.
(17) Kaylin: (walk to the roc... hey, it rhymes)
(24) Kibin: Hey, we can just distract it with wind walk...
(15) Elorin: Fly around its head as a bunch of clouds?
(24) Kibin: Possibly.
(17) Kaylin: That wouldn't really distract me...
(17) Kaylin: I doubt it'd distract a bird of that size.
(15) Elorin: Would it even bother to notice?
(24) Kibin: How would we walk up there?
(1) GM: Jason: Ah, Wind Walk, of course! Even helps with the timing.
(23) Aaron: Cast wind walk on me, I will draw off the bird and then jason can steal the bone
(24) Kibin: How about we all do. More targets.
(17) Kaylin: by yourself?
** (24) Kibin starts shifting to gaseous form... **
(24) Kibin: (Please hurry up. x.x)
(1) GM: Invisibility Sphere, Level 3: Makes everyone within 10 ft. invisible
(24) Kibin: (I want to get back to ghost today.)
(1) GM: Jason starts running off towards the nest.....
** (24) Kibin follows.. **
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Wind Walk ( level 6, "You and your allies turn vaporous and travel fast" )
(15) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 6 Spell ( level 6, "Spell slot tracking device" )
** (15) Elorin follows **
** (23) Aaron heads for the nest **
(1) GM: After a few minutes, even Wind Walking, you get there.
(1) GM: The "eagle" is a behemoth. Thirty feet long, even with it's wings closed, as it bicks on it's beak with a sizeable bone.
(1) GM: [1d20+41] -> [2,41] = (43)
(1) GM: It speaks.
(17) Kaylin: Knowledge: Nature Skill Check: [1d20+13] -> [6,13] = (19)
(1) GM: You know, it's really not polite to try and sneak up on someone invisibly.
whispering to Kaylin, Wrong knoweledge skill. Try The Planes.
(24) Kibin: Can we borrow a chip of the bones you're using as a toothpick, and be off, then?
(17) Kaylin: Knowledge: The Planes Skill Check: [1d20+15] -> [9,15] = (24)
(1) GM: Eagle: Nope. This dragon's the one what trapped me here. I'm not letting any of her get away.
(23) Aaron: Knowledge: Arcana Skill Check: [1d20+19] -> [15,19] = (34)
(24) Kibin: We could teleport you out?
whispering to Kaylin, Doesn't ring any bells.
(15) Elorin: Trapped?
(17) Kaylin: (why do I always roll so low on Knowledge rolls)
(1) GM: Eagle: Yep. Little things like you can maybe get out, but not me. Door's too small, even for teleporting.
(24) Kibin: We could polymorph you into something smaller.
(23) Aaron: Why were you trapped here?
(17) Kaylin: Little bit of work... we could get you out of here
(1) GM: Eagle: Heh. Like I trust you to change my form. Run along. Or better yet, stay for dinner.
(24) Kibin: What do you have to lose?
(1) GM: Eagle: The glory that is me.
** (23) Aaron starts changing back to normal form **
(15) Elorin: It would only be temporary
(24) Kibin: It would be a regular polymorph spell, not a baleful polymorph spell.
(23) Aaron: Why exactly have you been trapped here?
(24) Kibin: And besides, doesn't it get boring in here?
(1) GM: Eagle: Ahh, been a while since I saw one of your type. Aren't you a little small, though, for your markings?
(24) Kibin: Markings?
(23) Aaron: I am a half bread.....
(23) Aaron: However, about yourself, why did the dragon trap you here?
(1) GM: Eagle: I don't know much about spellcasters, but I do know they are a tricky bunch. I'd never be able to recognize the spell coming my way, and I know many mortals value my feathers.
(17) Kaylin: Hey! I'm perfectly trustworthy.
(24) Kibin: What can I do to convince you?
(17) Kaylin: I'd never rearrange the universe on a whim.
(17) Kaylin: Well, not too frequently.
(15) Elorin: (should I even bother with the sense motive on that? :P)
** (24) Kibin lands, if the eagle will let him, and shifts to normal. **
(1) GM: Eagle: I don't think she fully meant to get me.... but that's what happened. Tasty little tart.
(17) Kaylin: (we can talk in gaseous form?)
(24) Kibin: (Technically, no.)
(17) Kaylin: (oh well)
(24) Kibin: (But it doesn't specifically say you can't, just no verbal components.)
(17) Kaylin: (Cloud Sign Language then?)
(1) GM: (Not in the strong voice required for Verbal Components, but I will permit conversation)
(17) Kaylin: (ah)
(23) Aaron: We need those bones, there is no reason for you to withold them from us
(24) Kibin: If you will let us, we can get you out of here. We don't want your feathers...
(1) GM: Eagle: Sure there is. You want to raise my captor. I don't want that to happen.
(24) Kibin: In fact, until this very moment, I didn't know that the feathers were valueable. Hmmm.
(17) Kaylin: Then they can't be all that valuable.
(24) Kibin: If it was not intentional, then why hold a grudge?
(1) GM: Eagle: She wouldn't let me go. Even tried to put me in a smaller cage than this one.
(17) Kaylin: This is a cage?
(24) Kibin: More like a palace to me...
(24) Kibin: Anyway... We're giving you the means to get out of here. Do you want to take it?
(23) Aaron: What could we do to get you to release the bones to us?
(1) GM: Eagle: Yep. The trees I'm nesting in used to form more in the way of bars.
(24) Kibin: (Is jason doing anything behind the eagle?)
(1) GM: Eagle: You're claiming to do so. Yet you've yet to give me any reason to trust you.
(24) Kibin: What would be reason enough?
(1) GM: Eagle: You even tried sneaking up on me. Silly. Eagle's have great eyesight.
(23) Aaron: [1d20+8] -> [10,8] = (18)
(24) Kibin: Sorry, but we thought you were just a giant eagle. Not a giant sentient eagle.
(1) GM: Jason: How do you see me?
(1) GM: Eagle: Easily. Even though you aren't all there, you do disturb the dust of the air. I can see where it isn't.
(23) Aaron: Power attack
(17) Kaylin: (er....)
(24) Kibin: (ON THE EAGLE? WHAT ARE YOU, INSANE?)
(1) GM: You're attempting to attack the eagle while it's conversing?
(17) Kaylin: (good thing I'm still gaseous..)
(23) Aaron: Yes
(17) Kaylin: (insanity plea, thy name is ZA)
(24) Kibin: (Can I get in the way of the attack?)_
(23) Aaron: It is being unreasonable, and threatening to eat us
(17) Kaylin: (it is?)
(23) Aaron: (yes yes it is)
(24) Kibin: (Still getting in the way of attack. :P)
** (17) Kaylin watches the happenings down below with a slack-clouded interest **
(1) GM: Unfortunately, you can't predict such actions.....
(1) GM: Although you can look horrified.
(1) GM: You manage to hit the eagle, as it was flat-footed. Roll for damage.
(24) Kibin: (Initiative checks?)
(17) Kaylin: (meeep)
(23) Aaron: [2d6+57] -> [5,5,57] = (67)
** (24) Kibin winces. Okay, that was stupid. **
(1) GM: Yes, initiative checks; for everyone except Aaron, as he started the conflict.
(1) GM: He goes last.
(23) Aaron: (I am guessing that doesn't kill it)
(1) GM: Nope.
(1) GM: [1d20+20] -> [19,20] = (39)
(24) Kibin: [1d20+5] -> [6,5] = (11)
(17) Kaylin: (+57? nice damage roll...)
(15) Elorin: Dex check: [1d20+6] -> [15,6] = (21)
(24) Kibin: (And I guess Aaron isn't flatfooted?)
(23) Aaron: And now I ask if it wan'ts to reconsider giving us the bones
(17) Kaylin: (I'm thinking I'll stay cloudy for a round...)
(17) Kaylin: Initiative: [1d20 + 6] -> [16,6] = (22)
(1) GM: Yeah, takes a while to convert....
(15) Elorin: (unless I dismiss it)
(1) GM: Dex check: [1d20+4] -> [13,4] = (17)
(24) Kibin: (Takes 5 rounds, actually. Me, the eagle, and Aaron are pretty much the only people that rcan react with any amount of speed)
(15) Elorin: (one standard action for me to dismiss the spell)
(24) Kibin: (Now excuse me as I pound the heck out of Aaron for doing that. x.x0
(1) GM: Eagle, Kaylin, Elorin, Jason, Kibin, Aaron (not flat-footed)
(17) Kaylin: (erm. Let's try talking first....)
(1) GM: The eagle attempts to grab Aaron.....
(1) GM: Touch: [1d20+25] -> [16,25] = (41), grapple: [1d20+44] -> [17,44] = (61)
(1) GM: I take it your Touch AC isn't that high? Opposing roll for the grapple?
(24) Kibin: (Heh. :P)
(17) Kaylin: (looks like he's grappled.)
(23) Aaron: [1d20+26] -> [15,26] = (41)
(24) Kibin: (Okay, I think this is "You're grappled. Deal with it." thing.
(17) Kaylin: (ack! I gotta run - duet practice with a cellist)
(17) Kaylin: (won't be back 'til later)
(24) Kibin: (Don't worry, I can pound the heck out of aaron without you.)
(17) Kaylin has sent you a tree node...
(17) Kaylin: (Try not to get Kaylin killed please :)
(1) GM: He's got a very slim chance of getting away when he tries....if the Eagle rolls a 1, and Aaron rolls a 20, that's 45 vs. 46.
(24) Kibin: (Thats a...)
(1) GM: The eagle takes an interative attack to try for a pin: [1d20+39] -> [14,39] = (53)
(24) Kibin: (1 in 400 chance.)
(17) Kaylin: (That there is a slim chance.)
(23) Aaron: [1d20+26] -> [3,26] = (29)
(1) GM: At the eagle's option, Aaron can't speak.
(24) Kibin: (Kaylin and elorin stay cloudy?)
(17) Kaylin: (I'm not getting into this unless necessary, like a life is at stake)
(1) GM: Eagle: Now, where were we? You were asking what you could do to make me trust you?
(17) Kaylin: (we just got owned by a bird's logic.)
(24) Kibin: Ah, yes, we were.
(24) Kibin: I guess I don't need to pound him into unconsciousness?
(1) GM: Oddly, the Eagle, after pinning Aaron, doesn't press the attack. Kaylin?
(24) Kibin: (Kaylin is gone.)
(1) GM: Ah, right; she delays.
(1) GM: Elorin?
(24) Kibin: (Please hurry. :P)
(15) Elorin: Aaron, would you mind explaining why you attacked without warning, without discussion, and while we were still trying to negotiate with it!?
** (15) Elorin starts turning solid **
(24) Kibin: Hehe, I don't think he can.
(15) Elorin: For starters, I could heal that wound
(1) GM: Eagle: Little more than a scratch. It will be gone in two or three days.
(24) Kibin: (My turn?)
(24) Kibin: (If so...)
(1) GM: Unless Elorin's doing something specific.
(24) Kibin: (I delay too, in an attempt to get out of combat time.)(
(24) Kibin: (He just materializing.)(
(1) GM: Jason also delays.
(1) GM: Aaron?
(15) Elorin: (move to a solid surface, and start materializing, and talk, that's all for me)
(1) GM: You're turn. You can attempt to break the pin, but that's about it.
(24) Kibin: (*tempted to strike Aaron in pressure point spot*)
(23) Aaron: [1d20+26] -> [5,26] = (31)
(1) GM: [1d20+44] -> [1,44] = (45)
(23) Aaron: Actually
(23) Aaron: No, I start to go gaseous again
(24) Kibin: (Doesn't break free. Hehe.
(1) GM: Still stuck.
(23) Aaron: In five turns I will be gaseous and free
(24) Kibin: (Okay then. Can I pound the poop out of him now?)
(24) Kibin: (grappled target...)
(1) GM: The eagle, noticing the escape attempt, first, renews the pin....
(24) Kibin: (No dexterity bonuses...)
(1) GM: [1d20+44] -> [13,44] = (57)
(24) Kibin: (Okay, I go pound the poop out of him now. :P)
(1) GM: And second, makes a grapple check to strike at his opponent with a natural weapon.
(24) Kibin: (And have to go in 3 minutes. x.x)
(1) GM: [1d20+39] -> [9,39] = (48) for [5d10+7] -> [1,3,4,10,1,7] = (26)
(1) GM: And again.
(1) GM: [1d20+34] -> [1,34] = (35) for [5d10+7] -> [7,3,3,1,3,7] = (24)
(1) GM: And again.
(1) GM: [1d20+29] -> [4,29] = (33) for [5d10+7] -> [10,6,10,1,10,7] = (44)
(1) GM: Eagle: Really, you shouldn't be trying to escape like that, after attacking me, and me just holding you down.
(24) Kibin: (Can I take my turn now?)
(1) GM: This time round, at the eagle's option, Aaron can speak.
(24) Kibin: (And three unarmed sneak attacks?)
(1) GM: If you like.
** (24) Kibin goes to knock Aaron out before he gets himself killed. **
(1) GM: Eagle: How have I not been reasonable?
(24) Kibin: [1d20+18] -> [10,18] = (28)
(24) Kibin: [1d20+13] -> [3,13] = (16)
(24) Kibin: [1d20+8] -> [13,8] = (21)
(24) Kibin: [1d6+2+8d6] -> [6,2,3,5,2,6,3,1,5,1] = (34)
(24) Kibin: [1d6+2+8d6] -> [5,2,2,1,6,2,2,3,2,1] = (26)
(24) Kibin: [1d6+2+8d6] -> [2,2,4,2,2,3,3,2,4,6] = (30)
(1) GM: Aaron - what's your AC before Dex?
(24) Kibin: (And -2 for each one that hit.)
(23) Aaron: 26
(23) Aaron: (And, you konw you can just coup de gras me right Kibn?)
(24) Kibin: (And if that didn't work, I get another for the eagle hitting him.)
(24) Kibin: (True, I could kill you...)
(1) GM: Actually, no, he can't.
(1) GM: Pinnend <> Helpless
(1) GM: he's got no dex bonus, and -4 to AC vs. people not in the grapple on top of that, but no CDG.
(15) Elorin: Kibin, I really don't think that's necessary
(1) GM: Ah, of course - can't use angle brackets....... Pinned != Helpless
(24) Kibin (exit): 19:38
(15) Elorin: (especially as that much damage might actually kill him)
(1) GM: Unarmed, nonlethal.
(15) Elorin: (oh, right)
(1) GM: So he is suffering from...... [26+24+44] -> 94 lethal and [34] -> 34 nonlethal.
(23) Aaron: Yep
(1) GM: What's your HP score, Aaron?
(23) Aaron: (Still concious)
(23) Aaron: 158
(1) GM: So just one or two more hits.....
(23) Aaron: (Yep)
(1) GM: Anyone else care to go before Aaron tries for round 2 of escape?
(1) GM: Is my connection working?
(23) Aaron: Yep
(1) GM: Okay, my connection is working.
(15) Elorin: (yes it's working, no I'm not doing anything except continue to materialize)
(1) GM: Aaron - your turn.
(23) Aaron: I wait
(1) GM: Eagle renews pin....
(1) GM: [1d20+44] -> [5,44] = (49)
(1) GM: Then gets to work on disarming the idiot. Starting with his armor.
(23) Aaron: [1d20+26] -> [7,26] = (33)
(1) GM: As you're pinned, no AoO....
(1) GM: [1d20+25] -> [9,25] = (34)
(1) GM: He's going for your armor, not your weapon; you don't get the enhancement bonus.
(1) GM: So Aaron's armor is stripped from him. The eagle casually tosses it over the side.
(1) GM: Then he tries for one of those nifty rings..... 1: Featherfall, 2: Protection [1d2] -> [1] = (1)
(1) GM: [1d20+25] -> [20,25] = (45)
(1) GM: Which also gets tossed over the side.
(1) GM: Eagle: So, how do you feel, without your shell?
(1) GM: Although you do get to oppose the roll, at +4 even, for a well secured object (but not a weapon attack rolll, so no enhancement bonus from your weapon, and no bonus for a two-hander)
(1) GM: Anyone taking actions before Round 3?
(15) Elorin: (nope)
(1) GM: Aaron? Round three of clouding, or trying to break pin?
(23) Aaron: Sure, I'll try and break the pin
(23) Aaron: [1d20+26] -> [2,26] = (28)
(1) GM: [1d20+44] -> [12,44] = (56)
(1) GM: And the eagle renews the pin.....
(1) GM: [1d20+44] -> [15,44] = (59)
(1) GM: Eagle: Oh, I tire of this game......
(1) GM: The eagle tosses Aaron over the side. Who falls 300 feet straight down. Without his ring of featherfallin.
(23) Aaron: So I'm dead?
(1) GM: Fortunately, the damage caps at 20d6; [20d6] -> [1,4,5,2,4,1,4,2,4,3,1,1,5,1,6,6,1,1,2,3] = (57)
(1) GM: Lethal: [94+57] -> 151
(23) Aaron: Well, I'm unconcious then
(1) GM: Eagle: Now then, what was it you said you wanted?
(15) Elorin: (wait, if it took us several minutes to get up here, he's got plenty of time to finish turning into a cloud before he hits)
(1) GM: (most the distance was horizontal)
(23) Aaron: (don't try and save me)
(23) Aaron: Disconnecting from server...
(23) Aaron (exit): 19:53
(1) GM: 300 feet is only one rounds worth of falling. He would have been on round four when he hit.
(15) Elorin: (hmm, just me still here)
(15) Elorin: (how about we break till next week)
(1) GM: Eagle: Well, you do seem opposed to the idiot.... oh, here. Take it.
(1) GM:

(1) GM: Sure, next week, then.
(15) Elorin: (ok, bye till then)
(15) Elorin: Disconnecting from server...
(15) Elorin (exit): 19:55
