Biological Description: The Kazon are a humanoid race with similar traits to humans. They stand about 1.6 meters tall, are olive completed, and are of average strength. They are somewhat less intelligent than most humanoid races however, what they lack in mental ability they make up for in their violent nature.

Society Description: The Kazon are a violent race who consider themselves to be great warriors. The Kazon were originally a slave species of the Trabe, but they overthrew their masters in a revolt some time ago. The Kazon have a relatively disorganized culture- after overthrowing the Trabe they splintered into several sects who have competed with one another ever since. Some of the sects are extremely weak, lacking the ability to provide even the basics of life properly. Others operate fleets of warships which they 'liberated' from the Trabe; although some of these are large and powerful, the Kazon are not great technicians and their ships tend to be relatively poorly maintained.

General History Description: Long ago, the Kazon were among the most culturally and technologically advanced people in that part of the galaxy. This ended when the Kazon were conquered by the Trabe, who encouraged the various Kazon sects to fight among themselves, making them easier to control. The Trabe oppression ended in 2346 when Jal Sankur united the Kazon people, overthrowing the Trabe. The departing Kazons stole the Trabe's spacecraft, returning the Kazon to the status of a spacefaring society. After gaining their freedom, the Kazon persecuted the Trabe, denying their former oppressors sanctuary on other planets. In 2372, Trabe leader Mabus conspired to assassinate a delegation of Kazon first majes brought together under the guise of a peace conference. The murderous plan failed, and the Kazon continued its revenge against the Trabe. Nevertheless, the Kazon people quickly returned to a society divided into warring sects, including the Kazon-Ogla and the Kazon-Nistrim. While possessing the Trabe interstellar space flight capabilities, The Kazon did not have transporter, replicator, or related technologies common to spacefaring groups in the Alpha Quadrant. The Kazon are very territorial, and borders between the sects change daily. Even the number of Kazon sects changes daily. There are currently approximately 18 sects.
