Remnants of the PFLO forces retreated. You wiped sweat from your face. It was a hard fight. The guerillas were much more determined and agressive than anybody had thought. A perplexing question came to mind. Assabe was a big and wealthy village - but it was certainly not rich enough to risk losing an entire company, not to mention countless vehicles, in what seemed to be a suicidal attack.

Your forces managed to capture some prisoners. Quick interrogation revealed that their target was not the village, but UNIFE soldiers themselves. Unfortunately, none of the captured rebels knew the reasons behind this attack.
