"Ok, how bad is it, Josif?" - you asked.
**
Kleszczak's voice was hard to hear through the static.
**
"Well, it seems that the UN brass is not happy about your actions. Peacekeepers engaged in full-scale battle, with hundreds of people killed - come on, this will be all over the world news."
**
"So what was I supposed to do? Arrest them all?"
**
"Don't ask me. I'd do the same thing. Safety of your men comes first. And if you weren't there, those guys would kill everybody, burn Assabe to the ground."
**
"Right. Tell that to the suits."
**
"You can do it yourself. They are sending an investigation team to your location. They will be flying from Addis Ababba tomorrow morning. Until then, your forces are to remain in Assabe."
**
"What about my wounded?"
**
"The helo will take them to the hospital in Addis Ababba."
**
"Well, at least that's good news. Wagner out." You turned the radio off and got out of your Humvee. The village chief approached you and started speaking. You haven't understood a thing - fortunately, your lieutenant was able totranslate. "Chief here wants us to come for a. . . umm. . . dinner of some sort. He wants to thank you for saving his people from those bandits."
**
"Great," you thought to yourself.

**
You saw the approaching Huey through your binoculars - a tiny silver spot on the vast blue sky.
**
"This is Lieutenant Stevenson," said the voice in your headphones. "We are five miles from you, over."
**
"Yes, I see you, lieutenant. There's a clear field east of the village - I suggest you land there. Over."
**
"Okay, we'll. . . Wait, there are some people in this compound to the north, they are. . . Oh, damn!"
**
Wispy lines of smoke shot from the hills to the helicopter. SAMs! An explosion sent the Huey spiralling downwards, leaving a trail of black smoke. The engine was out, but the pilot managed to perform an emergency landing on autorotation.
**
"Get everybody up!" you ordered your second in command. " I'm going over there, you're in command when I'm gone."
**
"Damn - the area must crawling with PFLO rebels," you thought to yourself, running to your car. The rest of the drivers were already starting their engines. Soldiers held their Beryl rifles, checking spare magazines and grenades. You ordered half of them to get to APCs, and told rest to take defensive positions around the village. Your forces were ready to go in less than ten minutes.
**
"Let's go!" you said to the humvee's driver. A private behind you reloaded the roof-mounted MG. Chambering a round, he shouted while pulling his gun around to the front. "We're ready to rock!"
