"Captain, we are ready. The vehicles are repaired and refuelled, and we found that among other things, those guys brought a truckful of 125 mm ammo, wich should make our tankers happy. Doc Szczebielewicz says that most of our wounded will survive if we manage to get them to Kassala. We can leave at your order, sir," reported Lieutenant Markowski.
**
"Okay. Kassala is four hours away from here. We will take this old canyon road - now we can be sure that the main road is crawling with soldiers. "

---- 15th May 2013. 1240 hours. Old canyon road. ----
**
Red and weathered canyon walls passed by the window of your humvee.
**
"We will get out of the canyon about 25 klicks from Kassala- that should be enough to contact the Ukrainians on UHF," you said.
**
"If they are still alive, that is," muttered your lieutenant.
**
"They are there. Even if a total civil war broke out, Kleszczak's forces in Kassala are large enough to repell any attack. I know the man, he's tough as nails."
**
"I sure hope so."
**
A small flash of light in front of you caught your attention. Was it sun reflecting off binoculars? You cursed silently and checked your gun.
**
"Get everybody on the radio, and tell them that we may have a welcoming comittee up ahead."
