These rings are usually made by overprotective dragon parents of the weaker types (dragons that don't have a caster level fresh out of the shell); they permit freshly hatched dragons (or anyone else, but the freshly hatched dragons are the ones who they are built for) to cast spells as 1st level sorcerors, complete with verbal, somatic, material, and focus components as appropriet, with the corresponding Arcane Spell Failure and Attack of Oportunity mechanics, with a spell list decided at the time of creation of the ring and an effective Charisma score of 11 (2 first level spells, known, three first level spell slots, four 0th level spells known, five 0th level spell slots) This particular ring contains: 0th: Resistance (abjouration), Detect Magic (divination), Ray of Frost (Evocation), Message (Transmutation) 1st: Mage Armor (Conjouration), Endure ELements
Faint multiple schools (those of the spells in the ring; in this case, Abjouration, Evocation, Transmutation, and Conjouration); CL 1st; Forge Ring, the spells to be made available (two 1st level spells, four 0th level spells, which must be from the Sorceror/Wizard spell list), creator must be a spontaneous arcane caster; 5,000 gp.
