(1) GM: Morning.
(2) Kaylin: mornin'
(1) GM: Hmm. 10:00 and one has showed.....
(2) Kaylin: Douglas mentioned in another post that his connection has been weird
(1) GM: And NullAshton mentioned that he's going to be late - he never did answer what time zone he was reffering to with 6 or 6:30, and Narf has a habit of oversleeping on gaming days of late.
(1) GM: Yeah.
(3) Selvor (enter): 10:15
(3) Selvor: Disconnecting from server...
(3) Selvor (exit): 10:15
(1) GM: Blink.
(1) Jack Simth: Ah, there we go - NullAshton's on East Coast time - he notmally drops off at 10:30 his time, 7:30 mine.
(1) Jack Simth: So 6 for him is about 3 in the afternoon for me.
(2) Kaylin: all right
(1) Jack Simth: ... which still leaves 4:30 to 5 hours until he shows up "here".....
(2) Kaylin: Hmm, well, I don't mind waiting for the others to show up...
(4) Elorin (enter): 10:45
(4) Elorin: I see the unusually long lines in the dining hall haven't made me miss anything
(1) Jack Simth: Well, Kibin not in until later, Narf appears to be having a little difficulty waking up....
(4) Elorin: 2 isn't much of a group
(1) Jack Simth: True.
(1) Jack Simth: Well, it's been an hour.
(5) Larue (enter): 11:26
(5) Larue: Disconnecting from server...

(1) Jack Simth: Morning.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Sorry, I thought this was the skip week.)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Good nooning.)
(2) Kaylin: heya
(4) Elorin: Hugging Your Friends Lets You Move Faster, and how to propel quarterstaves at ridiculously high speeds using only level 1 commoners :P
(1) Jack Simth: Ha! It's morning for the next half hour, here.
(1) Jack Simth: Well, that's who we expect to show, so....
Moving to room 'D and D'..

Welcome to Jack Simth's temporary server!
I put this up just for a short gaming session on Saturday, and stop it after.

(2) Kaylin (enter): 11:32
(4) Elorin (enter): 11:32
(6) Eldon Quickfoot (enter): 11:33
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (...Ok, I don't get the staff-firing railgun.)
(1) GM: (1: 0 time to craft the staff; 2: Readied action to hand the staff to the next guy. Readied actions take place outside of time; all in the same turn, the staff gets passed X times, where X is the number of people you have lined up, with readied actions to pass it along to the next in line. As readied actions all take place outside of time, they all happen in the same 6 seconds.)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Ok, but that leaves it open for the GM to rule that since you're simply handing it off, it doesn't accelerate.)
(4) Elorin: (so you have a quarterstaff that didn't exist a moment ago travelling an arbitrary distance in 6 seconds)
(1) GM: When we last left our heroes, they had just been schooled by a Cleric, given a very valuable (and expensive) lesson.
(1) GM: Speaking of which - Elorin - you're down 25,000 gp in diamonds True Ressurecting Kibin.
(4) Elorin: (yes, I noticed. That leaves me with just 10k remaining, not enough for another True Res)
(1) GM: Ah. Still have Ressurection?
(4) Elorin: (and Raise Dead)
(1) GM: So the next person to drop maybe loses a level.
(4) Elorin: (unless we go shopping first)
(1) GM: Or waits until out of the area to get back up... or yes, another shopping trip would do, too.
(1) GM: It's quite the peaceful town, although you're out of the way at the moment, and there's not really much in the way of people about. The trees make for some nice shade.
(4) Elorin: Aside from Kibin dying, how'd it go?
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "We lost."
(2) Kaylin: He's strong.
(1) GM: Jason: Yeah. Throws magic around like it's water.
(4) Elorin: How much variation was there in his spellcasting?
** (4) Elorin is about to pull out a spell I don't think he's used yet :D **
(2) Kaylin: His casting? Not too much...
(1) GM: Jason: Oh, a few Slay Livings, an evil word, several spells that increase his power..... oh, and the one that killed Kibin; felt kinda nice.
(2) Kaylin: (brb, freezing in here)
(4) Elorin: So, Slay Living, Harm, and Blasphemy?
(1) GM: The last was a Mass Inflict spell... Light, I think. But yes, he did Harm Kibin. And he took it.
(4) Elorin: (haven't cast anything but the one True Res today, right?)
(1) GM: Your standard personal selection of buffs, Hero's Feast, and any that you lend to other party members - Greater Magic Weapon for Eldon's sword, for instance. Otherwise, not really.
(1) GM: Oh, and most everyone's kinda hurting at the moment.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (I don't show much damage, but I don't know how accurate that is - I don't always remember to save.)
(1) GM: (About the only actual damage that was dealt was to Kibin, with a Harm; everyone took some damage from a Mass Inflict Light Wounds, however.)
(4) Elorin: (so one Mass CLW should be enough?)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Light wounds would leave him about where he is now.)
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Mass Cure Light Wounds ( level 5, "Cures 1d8 damage +1/level for many creatures" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 5 Spell ( level 5, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(4) Elorin: [1d8+19] -> [7,19] = (26)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "So...Do we return to battle?"
(4) Elorin: So, if everyone's ready to go back, I think I can deal with many of his offensive spells quite handily. Death Ward all around, plus Greater Spell Immunity... :D
(2) Kaylin: We could return.
(4) Elorin: The only question is, what three spells to block other than Blasphemy...
(2) Kaylin: I personally would prefer to wait a day and prepare other spells. Either choice is acceptable for me.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "And I would perfer to attack before he has time to rest."
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (...Is it just me, or is everyone else an introvert, too?)
(1) GM: Jason: Well, I'm game. Push comes to shove, I'm dead either way, so.....
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (I think we need Ashton to move the conversation along, even if just with silly comments.)
(2) Kaylin: (haha)
(1) GM: You see the local shoppekeeper walk up to you.
(1) GM: Shoppekeeper: So... I take it it didn't go well?
(1) GM: He's wearing simple robes, nothing particularly fancy that you can see.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "We had...An intense difference of opinion."
(1) GM: Shoppekeeper: Ah, yes. So I take it you've mostly figured out what he's up to?
** (6) Eldon Quickfoot blinks. **
(2) Kaylin: You know about his actions?
(1) GM: Shoppekeeper: Some of it. Not the worst method of genocide I've ever seen. Still, not someone I've been willing to face off against. I'm sure you understand.
(2) Kaylin: ... Yes, I do understand. We were just about to try again, it seems.
(1) GM: Shoppekeeper: Ah. Of course, this time he's liable to have warning.....
(1) GM: Shoppekeeper: Still, can't have him finishing his "Work"... although there aren't any births due for a while, so there's no particular rush.
(1) GM: Shoppekeeper: Anything in particular that might make things a little easier? I'm thinking of having a 25% off sale.....
(1) GM: Shoppekeeper: Which puts things at my cost.
(2) Kaylin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [7,2] = (9)
(2) Kaylin: (is he up to something?)
(2) Kaylin: (not that I'd know, with that check)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: Sense Motive: [1d20+19] -> [16,19] = (35)
whispering to Kaylin, You're sure he's being perfectly straightforward and honest.
(4) Elorin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+11] -> [3,11] = (14)
whispering to Eldon Quickfoot, He's not joking. He does want the guy gone.
(4) Elorin: (might as well joing the bandwagon with that check :P)
whispering to Elorin, You're sure he's being perfectly straightforward and honest.
** (6) Eldon Quickfoot nods cheerfully. **
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (In the direction of the party.)
(4) Elorin: Hmm, there's nothing in particular I can think of that would help for me.
(4) Elorin: (brb)
(2) Kaylin: Elorin, you have a spell of Magic Circle against Evil, correct?
(1) GM: Jason: Doesn't everybody?
(2) Kaylin: I don't.
(1) GM: Jason: But it's such a useful spell....
(2) Kaylin: well, Elorin's always had it. Anyways, anything we need or shall we attempt again?
(1) GM: Jason: Well, I can't really think of much.... Eldon? Elorin? Anything either of you need at the moment?
(4) Elorin: Depending on just how tough he is, a Holy Word might paralyze him if I could borrow a Bead of Karma for a moment...
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "I do not think so."
(1) GM: Shoppekeeper: Yeah... just make sure to bring it back.....
(1) GM: The shoppekeeper hands over a simple strand of prayer beads.
(2) Kaylin: (pretty trusting, ins't he...)
(2) Kaylin: (well, I suppose we're doing a Good Deed here.)
(1) GM: (Is he?)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (He probably did a sense motive on us - With some insanely high number.)
** (4) Elorin activates the Bead, hands it back, and starts casting protective spells **
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Magic Circle against Evil ( level 3, "As protection spells, but 10-ft. radius and 10 min./level" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 3 Spell ( level 3, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Death Ward ( level 4, "Grants immunity to death spells and negative energy effects" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 4 Spell ( level 4, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Death Ward ( level 4, "Grants immunity to death spells and negative energy effects" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 4 Spell ( level 4, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Death Ward ( level 4, "Grants immunity to death spells and negative energy effects" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 4 Spell ( level 4, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Greater Spell Immunity ( level 8, "As spell immunity, but up to 8th-level spells" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 8 Spell ( level 8, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Greater Spell Immunity ( level 8, "As spell immunity, but up to 8th-level spells" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 8 Spell ( level 8, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Greater Spell Immunity ( level 8, "As spell immunity, but up to 8th-level spells" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 8 Spell ( level 8, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(1) GM: So... selected spells?
(4) Elorin: (Immunity to Blasphemy, Dictum, Word of Chaos, and Plane Shift unless Kaylin suggests something else)
(1) GM: Shoppekeeper: Well, good luck.
** (2) Kaylin is getting impatient for revenge **
(2) Kaylin: (can't think of anything else)
(2) Kaylin: Thank you.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "Thank you."
(4) Elorin: Thank you.
(4) Elorin: (So, teleporting back in?)
(1) GM: Jason: So... do we want to try the front door again, or what?
(2) Kaylin: It might be more advantageous for us to fight in a larger space, such as the main area of the temple.
(1) GM: Jason: He did make very skilled use of his "office" didn't he?
(2) Kaylin: I see no reason to continue letting him do that.
(1) GM: Jason: Well, we're only about a thousand feet from the "church". I can't move all y'all that far.
(4) Elorin: I don't see how we have much choice if he just stays there. Speaking of which, we should check just where he is. Jason, an image please.
(1) GM: Silent Image, 1: Creates minor illusion of your design (will save)
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Greater Scrying ( level 7, "As scrying, but faster and longer." )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 7 Spell ( level 7, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(2) Kaylin: I'll start throwing Fireballs in. That should at least get him out.
(4) Elorin: (that makes it a DC 30 save)
(4) Elorin: (effectively)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "...And what if the townspeople notice?"
(1) GM: [1d20+22] -> [17,22] = (39)
(1) GM: You don't get anything.
(4) Elorin: (dammit)
(4) Elorin: Damn, guess we'll have to go looking
(1) GM: (Cleric - Good Will, high Wisdom, lots of abilities to improve such things.)
(4) Elorin: (figured he'd have a high save, but I had to try)
(2) Kaylin: (So let's see, his saves are +19, +22, and +14...)
(1) GM: (actually, I lost his character sheet, so they've changed.....)
(1) GM: (not that it matters too much)
(1) GM: Jason: So, everyone up for a short stroll?
(2) Kaylin: I think I'
(2) Kaylin: I''ll be able to survive
** (4) Elorin starts walking **
** (2) Kaylin trails along behind Elorin **
(1) GM: Jason goes with. Kibin sits around, contemplating the meaning of life and death in a world where one can die more than once on the same day.
(4) Elorin: (has he actually done that yet?)
** (6) Eldon Quickfoot starts walking. **
(1) GM: The town is just as happy-go-lucky as you remember. Everyone is all smiles and good cheer, and the church's main door stands open. It's a rather heavy wooden thing.
(2) Kaylin: This smiling is beginning to grate on my nerves... it looks like they're up to something.
whispering to GM, [1d20+25+40] -> [4,25,40] = (69)
(1) GM: A four-year old in grey acrolite robes walks up to you, and hands Kaylin a note.
(2) Kaylin: Hmm?
** (2) Kaylin reads **
(1) GM: She has blond hair, and a serence smile on her face. She seems to be waiting for a response, but she says nothing.
whispering to Kaylin, Note: So, ready to apologize?
** (2) Kaylin snorts and hands the note to Eldon **
** (6) Eldon Quickfoot reads it - Carefully. **
whispering to Eldon Quickfoot, Note: So, ready to apologize?
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "It seems he is waiting for us."
** (6) Eldon Quickfoot hands the note back to Kaylin. **
(4) Elorin: What does it say?
(2) Kaylin: "Ready to apologise?"
(1) GM: The little girl seems to be waiting for a response.
(1) GM: You notice she's the youngest person you've seen in town.
(1) GM: Nobody appears to have any toddlers following them, nor babies in arms, although there are a few women who look pregnant.
(2) Kaylin: I'm surprised she's still alive - I don't feel safe sending her back with a message.
(4) Elorin: Could you tell us where he is, little girl? We'd like to give our response in person.
(1) GM: She shakes her head no.
(2) Kaylin: How were you going to give him our response?
(1) GM: She pulls a notepad out of a belt pouch, and starts scribbling on it. After a moment, she rips off a sheet, and hands it to Kaylin.
** (2) Kaylin reads again **
whispering to Kaylin, The handwriting is surprisingly clear for one so young: "Write it down, and drop it into the lock-box."
** (2) Kaylin tries a Spellcraft check to see if something's weird with this girl **
(2) Kaylin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+36] -> [12,36] = (48)
whispering to Kaylin, She hasn't given any evidence of any spells you're familiar with.
(2) Kaylin: All right. Thanks for the information.
(2) Kaylin: Seems we're supposed to write a response and leave it in the lock-box.
(1) GM: She curtsies slightly, and stands waiting.
(1) GM: Jason concentrates for a few seconds.....
(1) GM: Then slowly looks around.
(1) GM: Spending about twenty seconds looking in any particular direction.
(1) GM: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+22] -> [10,22] = (32)
(1) GM: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+22] -> [17,22] = (39)
(1) GM: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+22] -> [6,22] = (28)
(1) GM: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+22] -> [11,22] = (33)
(1) GM: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+22] -> [1,22] = (23)
(1) GM: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+22] -> [16,22] = (38)
(2) Kaylin: Uhm, Jason?
(1) GM: Jason: Odd....
(1) GM: Jason: She's the only one nearby without any meaningful magic on her..... It all seems to be Evocation, too...
(1) GM: Jason: Which just doesn't fit.
(1) GM: Jason: So it would appear she isn't enchanted... but that just about everyone else is.
(1) GM: Jason: Sorry, what Kaylin?
(2) Kaylin: Oh, nothing. Was the shopkeeper enchanted? I didn't think to check.
(1) GM: Jason: Neither did I... but he stayed behind, so....
(1) GM: Jason: Anyway... Hmm... Where is he, anyway? You still no how to find people properly?
(1) GM: Jason: I remember you were quite good at Discerning where people were Located at one point....
(1) GM: (to Elorin)
(4) Elorin: Yes, but that takes a good 10 minutes
(1) GM: Jason: At which point, the bead will have worn off. Of course.
(4) Elorin: (speaking of time, are you tracking spell duration as real time passed, or by how long our actions would take?)
(2) Kaylin: Perhaps we should just check his office? He can't have gone too far.
(1) GM: Jason: Kaylin - he's setting up to read a note.... do you have any surprises for him? Perhaps something that could blow up in his face, that we could listen for?
(1) GM: (For now, how long the actions would take, for the most part)
(1) GM: A nearby merchant asks if you would like to buy some apples.
(4) Elorin: (by actions, I think we've spent about 4 minutes walking and detecting magic. I think the conversation would have taken another 2 or 3, approximately, so we have 3-4 minutes by my guess before the bead wears off)
(1) GM: They look delicious.
(4) Elorin: (hmm, does Miracle's spell duplication application change its standard action casting time?)
(2) Kaylin: Jason, sorry, I dont have anything of that sort prepared for today.
(1) GM: (Nope)
(1) GM: Jason: Pity.....
(4) Elorin: (Miracle to emulate Discern Location...)
(2) Kaylin: I could use a Greater Shadow Evocation, but that seems a bit of a waste.
(2) Kaylin: Don't you have Shadow Evocation?
(2) Kaylin: (Scratch that)
(4) Elorin: Hold on a moment about that location thing...
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Miracle ( level 9, "Requests a deity's intercession" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 9 Spell ( level 9, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(2) Kaylin: (Forgot it was Abjuration)
(4) Elorin: (Hey Ehlonna, I'm trying to track down this evil priest to kill him, could you tell me where he is? :P)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Uh, we seem to be spending way too many spells...)
whispering to Elorin, Ehlonna: Under the church, about fifty feet down, stranger.
(4) Elorin: (Stranger? I've been her favored soul for quite a while now, and this isn't my first Miracle...)
(4) Elorin: He's about 50 feet down
whispering to Elorin, I never did get a reply....
(4) Elorin (whispering): sorry, I've been forgetting about it. I will reply by the end of today, though.
(1) GM: Jason: Ah. Hmm... I suppose that makes me the scout, doesn't it?
(2) Kaylin: Pretty much, yes.
(1) GM: Jason: Well, back in a minute or two...
(1) GM: Jason fades from view.
(1) GM: Two minutes later, he returns.
(1) GM: Jason: There's nothing but rock down there.
(1) GM: Jason: It's all dark, and no matter which way I look, there's something in the way. Although.....
(1) GM: Jason: It sounded wrong.....
(1) GM: Jason: Hmm....
(1) GM: Jason: Hey, Kaylin - it's never happened to me before.... but tell me, what should happen if I went through an illusion I couldn't interact with of solid rock?
(2) Kaylin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+36] -> [14,36] = (50)
whispering to Kaylin, There wouldn't be any inconsistencies to notice, and it would block sight quite well.
(2) Kaylin: It would just seem like rock to you.
(1) GM: Jason: Ah. So we need to find his door, whatever it is.
(2) Kaylin: That sounds like an illusion. Clever person.
(1) GM: Jason: Or.... we know how deep, right? Anyone up for a blind teleport?
(4) Elorin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+21] -> [4,21] = (25)
(4) Elorin: Might hurt a little if we're off, but not by too much.
(2) Kaylin: Yeah. Seems to be the easiest way.
(4) Elorin: (1d6 damage is a minor bruise at this level)
(4) Elorin: Go ahead
(1) GM: Jason: Winddancer!
(1) GM: Winddancer comes down, and lands on Kaylin's shoulder.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "Sure."
(1) GM: Jason stands right next to Kaylin.
(1) GM: Jason: If you would all join hands....
(1) GM: Jason: Oh, you said 50 feet down... did you say where?
(1) GM: Jason: I'd rather be as little off as possible; don't want anyone hurt too badly.
** (6) Eldon Quickfoot joins hands. **
(2) Kaylin: Elorin? Just 50 feet vertically down?
(4) Elorin: "below the church"
(1) GM: Jason: Okay, that helps....
(1) GM: Everyone ready?
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "yes."
(1) GM: Dimension Door, Level 4: Teleports you short distance
(1) GM: A moment later, everyone appears in utter blackness. With no floor.
(1) GM: Everyone falls a bit... except Jason, of course.
(1) GM: Falling damage; Eldon: [3d6] -> [6,3,1] = (10), Kaylin: [3d6] -> [1,2,2] = (5); Elorin: [3d6] -> [6,3,4] = (13)
(1) GM: Elorin - Reflex save, as you have wings.
(1) GM: [1d20+6] -> [4,6] = (10)
(1) GM: [3d6] -> [2,6,3] = (11)
(1) GM: Wnddancer squaks.
(1) GM: The place is quite dark, in addition to being coated in an illusion... but bing inside an illusion of solid rock, you know, immediately, it's fake.
(1) GM: Who all has darkvision?
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Eldon. And See Invisibility.)
(1) GM: Kaylin, Elroin? Darkvision?
(2) Kaylin: (I don't think I have Darkvision at the moment)
whispering to Eldon Quickfoot, You're standing on a small island in the middle of an underground lake. There's a pole with a metal plate at the top, making somewhere to stand fifteen feet over your heads. There's a small dock, with no boat, in view.
(1) GM: The place has a coppery smell.
(4) Elorin: Reflex save: [1d20+22] -> [12,22] = (34)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "We are on a small island in the middle of the underground lake. There's a fifteen-foot pole with a metal plate at the top and a small dock without a boat."
(2) Kaylin: Anyone mind if I cast Light?
(4) Elorin: (Darkvision 60' from goggles)
(1) GM: Jason: Go for it.
(2) Kaylin: Watch the eyes.
(2) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Light ( level 0, "Object shines like a torch." )
(1) GM: Casting?
(1) GM: What are you making glow?
** (2) Kaylin casts on her dagger **
(1) GM: The place lights up.
(1) GM: You're standing on a small island in the middle of an underground lake... but the water is red. There's an iron pole with a metal plate at the top, making somewhere to stand fifteen feet over your heads. There's a small brown wooden dock, with no boat, in view.
(1) GM: The cieling is about thirty feet over your heads, and the lake continues beyond where your light does.
(2) Kaylin: Red water? That can't be a good sign.
(1) GM: So what's everyone doing?
(1) GM: Meh, nevermind.
(1) GM: A fireball streaks in and detonates in the midst of you.
(1) GM: Reflex saves.....
(2) Kaylin: Reflex save: [1d20+12] -> [4,12] = (16)
(1) GM: Winddancer: [1d20+6] -> [13,6] = (19), Jason: [1d20+14] -> [4,14] = (18)
(1) GM: Incorporeal Miss Chance: [1d100] -> [63] = (63)
(1) GM: DC 21. Jason's unaffected.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: [1d20+14] -> [16,14] = (30)
(1) GM: Half damage for Eldon. Elorin?
(1) GM: [10d6] -> [1,1,2,1,5,3,6,6,5,4] = (34)
(1) GM: Kaylin - 34 damage, failed save.
(4) Elorin: Reflex save: [1d20+22] -> [4,22] = (26)
(1) GM: Jason Casts a spell and vanishes.... as does the injured Winddancer.
(1) GM: DC 21 - success; still have that Ring of Evasion?
(4) Elorin: (yes)
(1) GM: So Kayllin takes 34 damage, Eldon 17.
(1) GM: The fireball seemed to have come from the direction the dock points.
(1) GM: A few seconds later, Jason returns....
(1) GM: And another Fireball stikes the area from the darkness.....
(1) GM: Reflex Saves....
(1) GM: Reflex save: [1d20+14] -> [2,14] = (16)
(2) Kaylin: Reflex save: [1d20+12] -> [12,12] = (24)
(1) GM: [1d100] -> [31] = (31)
(1) GM: [10d6] -> [5,6,3,1,4,4,6,2,6,1] = (38)
(2) Kaylin: (no initiative yet?)
(1) GM: If you like....
(1) GM: Dex check: [1d20+5] -> [3,5] = (8)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: [1d20+14] -> [17,14] = (31)
(2) Kaylin: Dex check: [1d20+2] -> [11,2] = (13)
(1) GM: [1d20+12] -> [9,12] = (21)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: [1d20+6] -> [13,6] = (19)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (I think Eldon would have at least shot back or something.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: * )
(1) GM: Dc still 21.... Kaylin takes half damage, 19 points; Eldon also.
(1) GM: At what?
(1) GM: When you lit up, he started firing... from outside the area of your light.
(1) GM: Even with elven low-light vision. Fireball has Long range.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (...The direction the fireballs are coming from? They are flaming arrows, they should illuminate something.)
(2) Kaylin: (if I ever get an action the dagger is getting sheathed)
(1) GM: Elorin? Initiative?
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (And I use the last round to make my shortbow flame.)
(4) Elorin: Dex check: [1d20+6] -> [15,6] = (21)
(1) GM: And yes, Kaylin, you can sheath it when your turn comes up.
(1) GM: Initiative tie between Elorin and the critter - re-roll [1d20+12] -> [12,12] = (24)
(4) Elorin: Dex check: [1d20+6] -> [7,6] = (13)
(2) Kaylin: (brb, phone call)
(1) GM: So critter, Elorin, Eldon, Kaylin, Jason
(4) Elorin (whispering): sent a reply to your pm
(1) GM: And the critter spent it's turn firing off the second fireball, so Elorin...
(4) Elorin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+13] -> [16,13] = (29)
(4) Elorin: (to see where the fireball came from)
(1) GM: You know the direction. Distance is rather iffy, though.
(1) GM: Well out of range. In total darkness.
** (4) Elorin flies in that direction at a run (I have darkvision) **
(1) GM: What's your flying run speed?
(4) Elorin: (using one turn of haste, 90 move speed, *4 for run. If I see it, I'll stop 30 feet away)
(1) GM: 240 /round?
(4) Elorin: (360)
(1) GM: So 360/round. Darkvision range?
(4) Elorin: (60 feet)
(1) GM: 30?
(1) GM: so 420.
(1) GM: You pass the cleric from before, slowly rowing a boat, obviously unconcerned. Stopping for him?
(4) Elorin: (yes)
(1) GM: At about the halfway point.
(1) GM: Eldon - Elorin has flown off into the darkness. And it's your turn.
(8) No Name (enter): 13:50
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: I fire arrows back along the track of the fireballs, trying to see what's out there.
(1) GM: Greetings. Got a name?
whispering to Kibin, getting curious, and Searching around the church after the party's left, you stumble through a Teleportatino Circle, and land....
whispering to Kibin, on a small island in the middle of an underground lake... but the water is red. There's an iron pole with a metal plate at the top, making somewhere to stand fifteen feet over your heads. There's a small brown wooden dock, with no boat, in view.
whispering to Kibin, the cieling is about 30 feet high, and the rest of the party is definately worried about something. Roll for initiative.
(8) Kibin (whispering): First, could you give me my character sheet please?
whispering to Kibin,

Draconic Training Ring: Draconic Training Ring

These rings are usually made by overprotective dragon parents of the weaker types (dragons that don't have a caster level fresh out of the shell); they permit freshly hatched dragons (or anyone else, but the freshly hatched dragons are the ones who they are built for) to cast spells as 1st level sorcerors, complete with verbal, somatic, material, and focus components as appropriet, with the corresponding Arcane Spell Failure and Attack of Oportunity mechanics, with a spell list decided at the time of creation of the ring and an effective Charisma score of 11 (2 first level spells, known, three first level spell slots, four 0th level spells known, five 0th level spell slots)
This particular ring contains:
0th: Resistance (abjouration), Detect Magic (divination), Ray of Frost (Evocation), Message (Transmutation)
1st: Mage Armor (Conjouration), Endure ELements

Faint multiple schools (those of the spells in the ring; in this case, Abjouration, Evocation, Transmutation, and Conjouration); CL 1st; Forge Ring, the spells to be made available (two 1st level spells, four 0th level spells, which must be from the Sorceror/Wizard spell list), creator must be a spontaneous arcane caster; 5,000 gp.

Equipment: Bracers of Armor +8
Ring of Protection +5
Amulet of Natural Armor +4

whispering to Kibin, Curious, but okay.
(1) GM: Picking distances?
(8) Kibin: Dex check: [1d20+7] -> [15,7] = (22)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: Mmm...One every hundred yards.
(8) Kibin: (Hmmm, wrong ability scores.)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: Shortbow, Flaming: [1d20+26] -> [14,26] = (40), [1d20+21] -> [12,21] = (33), [1d20+16] -> [4,16] = (20), [1d20+11] -> [20,11] = (31), Damage: [1d4+2d6+1d6+2+5] -> [1,2,2,4,2,5] = (16), [1d4+2d6+1d6+2+5] -> [3,6,3,2,2,5] = (21), [1d4+2d6+1d6+2+5] -> [4,4,5,1,2,5] = (21), [1d4+2d6+1d6+2+5] -> [3,3,6,6,2,5] = (25)
(1) GM: So 300 feet, 600 feet, 900 feet, 1200 feet?
(1) GM: What's the range on a shortbow....
(4) Elorin: (I think he meant feet)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Er, yeah. Feet.)
(8) Kibin: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [16,3] = (19)
(8) Kibin: (There.)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (x10 the range increment, isn't it?)
(1) GM: Ah, 60 foot range increment... max 600 feet.
(8) Kibin (whispering): Didn't I give you a more recent one?
whispering to Kibin, that's the one I saw in my game tree, although I may have lost one at a semi-recent crash.
(8) Kibin (whispering): Dang...
(8) Kibin: Appraise Skill Check: [1d20+6] -> [9,6] = (15)
(1) GM: So 100 feet, 200 feet, 300 feet, 400 feet?
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Yep.)
(8) Kibin: (Okay, it's updated to recent level... I hope.)
(1) GM: At the 200 foot mark, you manage to spot a man on a boat, rowing unconcernedly, dressed in robes. Could be the cleric. Elorin is 30 feet in the air away from him. The farthest one lands just short of shore, where you see a brief image of several boulders next to a wall, and a tunnel beyond.
(1) GM: Kibin?
(1) GM: As they land, the arrows his into the water wrong..... like it's not water.
(1) GM: The coppery smell of the place gets worse.
(8) Kibin (whispering): So... what check would it be to properly identify it as blood?
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "Methinks it's blood!"
whispering to Kibin, I think I've made it obvious enough... and you're kinda familiar with blood, having shed enough ... in both senses.
(1) GM: [1d20+2] -> [8,2] = (10)
** (8) Kibin looks around for now.(Still confused as to where we are?) **
(1) GM: Delaying, then?
(1) GM: Kaylin? Your turn.
(4) Elorin: (unless he's retconned in, Kibin is outside debating the meaning of life and death in a world where you can die multiple times in the same day :P)
** (2) Kaylin sheaths the dagger and scuttles off to one side of the island **
(2) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Fire Shield ( level 4, "A shield of fire protects you and damages attackers." )
(2) Kaylin: (Chill Shield)
(8) Kibin: (Wait, I died again?)
(1) GM: (he got bored and wanderd into the church... and fell into a teleportation circle, just this round.)
(1) GM: And sheathing your dagger?
(4) Elorin: (no, but it is theoretically possible to die again in the same die)
(2) Kaylin: (yeah)
(8) Kibin: (Like I'd let that happen. :P)
(8) Kibin: Fortitude save: [1d20+16] -> [14,16] = (30)
(8) Kibin: Reflex save: [1d20+22] -> [13,22] = (35)
(8) Kibin: Will save: [1d20+16] -> [1,16] = (17)
(1) GM: Ah, sorry, but you failed your save against the charm you accidentally cast against yourself. You are now your own best friend.
(8) Kibin: (Haha. *wishes he remembered to bring his nice HTML character sheet.*)
(4) Elorin: (can we retcon that I buffed Kibin along with the other living party members, or is he lacking Death Ward and immunity to Blasphemy?)
(1) GM: The cleric uncovers a bulls-eye lantern, and shines it on Elorin.
(1) GM: Yeah, sure... just expend the spell slots.
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Death Ward ( level 4, "Grants immunity to death spells and negative energy effects" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 4 Spell ( level 4, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Greater Spell Immunity ( level 8, "As spell immunity, but up to 8th-level spells" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 8 Spell ( level 8, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(1) GM: Jason shrugs, and casts a spell.....
(1) GM: Mage's Private Sanctum, 5th: Prevents anyone from viewing or scrying an area for 24 hours
(1) GM: Jason: There... that should give us a little time.
(8) Kibin: (If only we had a bard.)
(1) GM: Elroin - what's your touch AC when running?
(4) Elorin: (24 or 25, I think)
(1) GM: Rocks come streaking out of the darkness, at Elorin: [1d20+25] -> [13,25] = (38), [1d20+25] -> [4,25] = (29), [1d20+25] -> [14,25] = (39), [1d20+25] -> [3,25] = (28)
(8) Kibin: (Those are some painful rocks.)
(4) Elorin: (28, sorry)
(4) Elorin: (not that it matters)
(1) GM: Two foot diameter spheres; all four hit, and all explode....
(1) GM: Take [8d6] -> [3,4,6,5,6,2,1,3] = (30) Bludgeoning, and [24d6] -> [4,2,4,3,5,5,5,3,3,2,4,2,5,5,5,2,1,4,2,2,2,2,1,1] = (74) fire.
(8) Kibin (whispering): Do you remember what my HP was? 149, I think?
whispering to Kibin, I think so.
(4) Elorin: (10 fire resist, which I believe applies to each sphere separately)
(1) GM: It does - so 30 bludgeoning and 34 fire.
(4) Elorin: (Heroes' Feast: [1d8+10] -> [5,10] = (15))
(1) GM: The Cleric, in his boat, seems completley unbothered by the flames....
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "I think perhaps we are ill prepared for this confrontation."
(1) GM: Elorin?
(1) GM: The spheres did not come from the boat.....
(4) Elorin: (oh wait, I forgot the haste bonus for touch AC, so the last should have missed)
(1) GM: So you lose 4 from the bludgeoning, and none from your net fire damage (last sphere did exactly 10 points of fire damage)
(4) Elorin: (not that it makes much difference, only 4 damage from that one :()
(1) GM: And it's your turn.
(8) Kibin (whispering): Whats the saves on the two dragon hitdie again?
whispering to Kibin, As a monk-2. +3 Fort, Ref, and Will.
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Holy Word ( level 7, "Kills, paralyzes, blinds, or deafens nongood subjects." )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 7 Spell ( level 7, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(1) GM: Let's see... your current caster level is what, about 24?
** (4) Elorin flies to one side **
(4) Elorin: (23)
(1) GM: [1d4] -> [1] = (1), [2d4] -> [4,3] = (7)
(1) GM: The cleric blinks a few times.
(1) GM: Eldon?
(4) Elorin: (damn, not enough for the paralyzed effect :()
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Can I shoot at the cleric in the boat?)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (...Maybe even catch the boat on fire.)
(1) GM: You can try... but he's 200 feet away; you're at -6 from three range increments.
(1) GM: And you can't see him direcly, although you can see the lantern.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Yeah, but any misses have a good chance of hitting the boat.)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: Shortbow, Flaming: [1d20+26] -> [11,26] = (37), [1d20+21] -> [17,21] = (38), [1d20+16] -> [15,16] = (31), [1d20+11] -> [19,11] = (30), Damage: [1d4+2d6+1d6+2+5] -> [4,1,1,2,2,5] = (15), [1d4+2d6+1d6+2+5] -> [2,2,2,5,2,5] = (18), [1d4+2d6+1d6+2+5] -> [2,3,4,4,2,5] = (20), [1d4+2d6+1d6+2+5] -> [1,6,3,5,2,5] = (22)
(1) GM: Miss chances from total concealment: [4d100] -> [53,67,46,46] = (212)
(1) GM: Two hits, 42 damage.
(8) Kibin: (Is the cleric within charging distance?)
(1) GM: Your arrows streak through the darkness.... two impact the cleric, the other two impact the boat.
(1) GM: What's your move?
(8) Kibin: (100 feet flying.)
(1) GM: Barely, yes.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Does the boat catch on fire?)
(1) GM: You won't know until next round.
(8) Kibin: (Hmmm. Does the double damage on a dive count for sneak attack?)
(1) GM: No. They are extra dice, and don't get multiplied for things like criticals, either.
(1) GM: And where's that listed?
** (8) Kibin dives towards the cleric while flying, slashing at him. **
(8) Kibin: (Special abilities, fly.)
(8) Kibin: (Says a dive is just like a charge, except you must move a minimum of 30 feet, desend at least 10 feet, and can only attack with claws or talons.)
(1) GM: So yeah, dive bomb away.
(8) Kibin: (But those deal double damage.)
** (8) Kibin found the F12 macro key **
(8) Kibin: [1d20+22] -> [18,22] = (40)
(1) GM: That's a rather good hit, on a BLIND person.
(1) GM: Damage?
(1) GM: The silvery ball of claws flys into the darkness......
(8) Kibin: [2d4+2+9d6] -> [1,3,2,1,6,5,1,3,6,2,1,6] = (37)
(1) GM: And lays some serious injury on the cleric in the boat.
(1) GM: Kaylin?
(1) GM: ....
(2) Kaylin: (can I see the cleric?)
(1) GM: Only just. There's a little bit of light coming from Eldon's arrows still.
(2) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Finger of Death ( level 7, "Kills one subject." )
(8) Kibin: (Yay low-light vision?)
(1) GM: Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
(2) Kaylin: (When you say only just, that means... about... how many feett)
(8) Kibin: (Freezy sphere!)
(1) GM: 200. You can only see him at all because there's a dim light source right next to him.
(2) Kaylin: (hmm.. halfway.. ~200?)
(2) Kaylin: (ohhh)
(8) Kibin: (You don't even have to see where you're shooting!)
(1) GM: Yeah. But at caster level... 18? She can only reach [25+5*9] -> 70 feet.
(1) GM: With Finger of Death.
(2) Kaylin: (that's one short ranged finger...)
(8) Kibin: (Talking about with the freezing sphere. x.x)
(1) GM: Someone has to be nearby to feel the full effect of giving them the Finger.
(2) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Fireball ( level 3, "1d6 damage per level, 20-ft. radius." )
(1) GM: Make a Wisdom check.
(2) Kaylin: Wis check: [1d20+2] -> [13,2] = (15)
(8) Kibin: (*slaps Kaylin*)
(2) Kaylin: (sorry, Im not very wise :()
(1) GM: Save DC?
(1) GM: Kibin - roll vs. Reflex.
(8) Kibin: Reflex save: [1d20+24] -> [15,24] = (39)
(2) Kaylin: (24)
(8) Kibin: (I bless thee, oh glorious evasion.)
(1) GM: The Cleric is strangely unharmed by the flames.
** (8) Kibin thinks, "What the crud is Kaylin doing tossing fireballs at me?" **
(1) GM: However, being blind, deaf, and injured, he steps out of the boat, and sinks down into the opaque red "water".
(1) GM: He sinks like a stone.....
(4) Elorin: (brb)
(1) GM: Jason: Let's see whats at that far side.....
(1) GM: Dimension Door, Level 4: Teleports you short distance
(1) GM: Jason vanishes from view.
(8) Kibin (whispering): Hmmm. Does blood block line of effect?
(8) Kibin: (Now Kaylin, if you actually used a freezing sphere, you would have FROZEN the "water")
whispering to Kibin, One way to find out. Of course, you have no idea how deep he is, or where, exactly, he is.....
(8) Kibin (whispering): I was asking if he still showed up on the blindsense-o-meter.
(2) Kaylin: (that's more beneficial?)
whispering to Kibin, No, he doesn't.
(8) Kibin: (For one, he wouldn't be able to go through it.)
(1) GM: (boat stops, couldn't retreat, couldn't hurt Kibin.....)
(1) GM: But low wisdom, so....
(8) Kibin: (Actually, she rolled above average.)
(1) GM: There is a flash of light at the far end of the area, next to the cave enterence seen earlier....
(2) Kaylin: (couldn't hurt Kibin anyways)
(1) GM: Jason's at the center of it.
(1) GM: [1d100] -> [64] = (64)
(1) GM: And it doesn't seem to affect him at all.
(1) GM: Elorin?
(8) Kibin: (She has a wisdom score of about 14. And what if I rolled a 1? Then you'd be cleaning me off the boat...)
(4) Elorin: (back)
(2) Kaylin: (Well, then you'd get to die twice in a day ;)
(1) GM: Good timing.
(8) Kibin: (Mmm, kentucky fried dragon.)
(4) Elorin: Damn, guess we'll have to hunt him down later
(2) Kaylin: Why did he step out of the boat, anyways...
(1) GM: So... taking any actions, Elorin? The boat beneath you seems to have caught fire, and is illuminating you somewhat.
** (4) Elorin flies towards Jason, stopping 50 feet away **
(4) Elorin: (double move, using haste)
(8) Kibin: (How far away is Jason?)
(1) GM: You don't see anything that should be able to throw fireballs around... just a bunch of rock outcroppings on the shore, next to the wall, and a rocky, rough hewn tunnel in the wall.
(1) GM: Jason is on the far shore, 410 feet from the island, 210 from the boat.
(1) GM: Kibin?
(1) GM: Hmm... I'll need to be leaving soon, unfortunately.
** (8) Kibin flies over to Jason, not wanting to linger around the boat. And not wanting to follow the cleric down. **
(8) Kibin: (For how long?)
(1) GM: About another ten or twenty minutes.
(1) GM: Kaylin?
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "And for those of us who can't fly?..."
(4) Elorin: (and how long will you be gone? Is it end of session, or what?)
(1) GM: Several hours, yes.
(2) Kaylin: (who all is on the island?)
(1) GM: Kaylin and Eldon. Jason teleported, Elorin and Kibin flew.
(8) Kibin: (Meh, and I just got here. :(
(2) Kaylin: Eldon, ready to go across?
(8) Kibin: (Maybe we could start again at around 9:00 EST? :)
(2) Kaylin: (what, dinnertime for us west-coasters?)
(1) GM: Maybe. Depends on how long it goes.
(8) Kibin: (Meh. 9:30 then?)
(1) GM: Kaylin - doing anything?
(8) Kibin: (Comeon, the computer is in my room now...)
(1) GM: I won't know how long I'll be gone until I return.
(2) Kaylin: (Well, if Elorin needs teleporting across...)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: "Yes."
(2) Kaylin: (er, Eldon)
(1) GM: Delaying, then.
(1) GM: Jason just kind of looks around, examining the outcroppings closely.
(1) GM: Jason: Are those real?
(1) GM: Elorin?
(8) Kibin: (Okay, 9:30 EST then unless you don't post back on the forums?)
(1) GM: Will save: [1d20+19] -> [5,19] = (24)
(1) GM: Jason: That one isn't......
(8) Kibin (whispering): Does my blindsense go though the outcroppings or anything? Seeing as how it isn't sight based.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (I thought Kaylin was going to teleport us?)
(1) GM: Combat time still.
whispering to Kibin, Most of them. there's lots, though, some of which are beyond your blindsense.
(2) Kaylin: (yeah, that. I don't see anyone we're fighting though)
(1) GM: Where have those fireballs been coming from?
** (4) Elorin nukes the rock Jason pointed out **
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Flame Strike ( level 5, "Smite foes with divine fire (1d6/level damage)" )
(4) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 5 Spell ( level 5, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(4) Elorin: (I need to get True Seeing sometime)
(1) GM: The rock doesn't interrupt the flames... but you don't see or hear any results, either.
(8) Kibin: (Maybe this is the deities home plane? O.o)
(1) GM: Eldon?
** (8) Kibin says to Jason, "Most of them seem to be illusions, from what I can tell." **
(1) GM: Eldon? Your turn.
(1) GM: The one Elorin targetted fades from view.... and nothing is behind it.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Oh, right, sorry.)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Nothing much I can do, is there?)
(1) GM: Hold hands with Kaylin for the teleport?
(8) Kibin: (What do you mean by nothing? O.o)
** (6) Eldon Quickfoot holds hands with Kaylin for the teleport. **
(1) GM: Kibin?
(2) Kaylin: (say, about how wide is the surface on that side of the lake?)
(1) GM: There's about thirty feet or so of shore.
** (8) Kibin flies through a few of the rocks that is seethrough in a way for him. **
(1) GM: And you manage to vanish three of them.
(1) GM: There's qutie a few, though. Someone spent a lot of time on these.....
(1) GM: And we'll hold here. Interesting stopping point; lull in the battle. Kibin just finished his turn; then Kaylin, Cleric, Jason, Beast, Elorin, Eldon, and Kibin (so I maintain initiative at the end of the log)
(1) GM: Catch you later.
(8) Kibin: (And continue at 9:30 EST if you post back in the forums before then?)
(2) Kaylin: (have fun)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Bye for now.)
(1) GM: Leaving the server running, just in case one of you wants to DM.
(4) Elorin: Bye
(1) GM: Something else, that is.
(8) Kibin: (Hmmm.)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Nope. I need to BRB for a bit.)
(4) Elorin: (yeah, sure, I'll DM this campaign... "The cleric swims to the top of the lake, casts Daylight, and coup de grace's himself, while the unseen nuker dispels his own concealments..." :P)
(8) Kibin: (Supper soon. And video games!)
(8) Kibin: (I still say the unseen nuker is the deity him/herself.)
(8) Kibin: (Epic level, I say! Because sorcerers, wizards, and clerics tend not to have dexterity over 5.)
(8) Kibin: (Wait. Hmmm.)
(8) Kibin: (BAB doesn't increase in epic levels.)
(8) Kibin: (Okay... see you all again later, maybe?)
(2) Kaylin: (I'll just kinda idle here)
(8) Kibin: (9:30ish?)
** (8) Kibin sneaks quietly away, then... **
** (8) Kibin found the F4 macro key **
(8) Kibin: Disconnecting from server...
(8) Kibin (exit): 14:56
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Waffles!)
(10) Kibin (enter): 16:45
(10) Kibin: (You people are still here? O.o)
** (10) Kibin found the F4 macro key **
(10) Kibin: Disconnecting from server...
(10) Kibin (exit): 16:46
(4) Elorin (exit): 17:29
(11) Kibin (enter): 18:31
(11) Kibin: (*waves*)
(11) Kibin: (*hmmmms*)
(11) Kibin: (Woot, he's back?)
(1) GM: Yup. Till dinner, at least. Mmm... barbeque....
(2) Kaylin: (ooh, barbeque... Chinese take-out for me, pretty soon)
(11) Kibin: (Where's elorin?)
(1) GM: Apparently, he hit exit at about 5:30.
(11) Kibin: Ah.
(11) Kibin: Dinner, probally, then.
(11) Kibin: What time is it now, there?
(1) GM: Here? About 6:38.
(11) Kibin: Ah.
(11) Kibin: There was this feat on the OOTS forums that let you make a Perform(dance) check instead of hide or move silently checks.
(11) Kibin: And did you know that you move faster by hugging? :D
(11) Kibin: Hugging makes the world go round.
(1) GM: Sort of like the pony express.... where the ponies all stand still. Yeah. There's notes in the DMG for ad-hock simultanaity for a reason.
(11) Kibin: Heh.
(11) Kibin: What about the 1,000 commoner quarterstaff railgun?
(1) GM: Ditto.
(11) Kibin: What about the 1,000 commoner quarterstaff time machine?
(1) GM: Missed that one, but same issue, most likely.
(11) Kibin: Basically, readied actions resolve before the action that triggers them.
(2) Kaylin: Dinnertime for me. Chow fun! back soonishly.
(11) Kibin: Thus, when you ready an action to hand off a staff that is handed to you, you hand off the staff BEFORE you actually recieve it.
(11) Kibin: Repeat about 10,000 times. Thus, the quarterstaff goes BACK through time.
(11) Kibin: Oh, and did you know that I found a way to produce free money with a level 8 spell slot? : )
(12) Elorin (enter): 18:56
(1) GM: Why bother? You make a profit of a simple Wall of Iron - Iron's a trade good, you see.....
(1) GM: Everyone here?
(1) GM: Ah, Kaylin at dinner.
(11) Kibin: The only problem with that? Break enchantment...
(1) GM: Conjouration(Creation) Instant. Not affected.
(11) Kibin: Oh, yeah.
(11) Kibin: Did you know that disintergrate can be affected by break enchantment?
(11) Kibin: It's a level 5 instant transmutation, so it can be reversed by break enchantment.
(1) GM: Destruction 7, Sor/Wiz 6; who's got it at 5th?
(11) Kibin: Huh.
(11) Kibin: You said it was a level 5 spell.
(1) GM: When? I'm far from perfect.
(11) Kibin: Battle with the cleric, where Kaylin got hit by a disintergrate, but barely saved on a 22.
(11) Kibin: That would give him a wisdom modifier of... +7. Nice.
(11) Kibin: Which, without magic items, is impossible, me thinks. Hmmm.
(1) GM: That wasn't a disintigrate. Sure, she was making Fort saves....
(11) Kibin: At least for a human.
(11) Kibin: Huh. What was it, then? I seem to remember a ranged touch roll.
(11) Kibin: Meh, stupid non-existient spellcraft modifier.
(11) Kibin: Must get some ranks in it next time I take a dragon hitdie. :P
(12) Elorin: Slay Living, I'd guess
(1) GM: Touch, with reach. Reach makes all the difference in the world....
(11) Kibin: Did you know break enchantment cannot remove the effects of flesh to stone?
(11) Kibin: Flesh to stone is a 6th level spell.
(1) GM: Yes, but shush. You don't want to be ret-conned into a statue, do you?
(11) Kibin: No, I'm happy being flesh and blood. :P
(11) Kibin: Anyway, my method of free money involves a metamagic feat in Complete Arcane, Repeat Spell.\
(11) Kibin: Takes a spell slot three levels higher, and the spell is basically cast again on the same area.
(1) GM: So.... what, Fabricate?
(11) Kibin: However, it says nothing about requiring double the material components.
(11) Kibin: Fabricate, a 5th level spell, requires material components to create an object with thhe same amount of materials as the material component.
(11) Kibin: Thus, 1,000 gold pieces can be Fabricated into 1,000 gold pieces.
(11) Kibin: Now, use the repeat metamagic feat. 8th level spell slot.
(11) Kibin: You cast the spell using 1,000 gold pieces, and it creates 1,000 gold pieces. Then the metamagic feat takes effect the next round, creating 1,000 gold pieces.
(11) Kibin: Not that any sane GM would allow that, mind you...
(12) Elorin: Hmm, looks to me like that actually works RAW.
(1) GM: Again, why bother, even with an insane GM? Wall of Iron is Conjouration(Creation) instant; the iron produced is perfectly mundane. Iron is listed as a trade good. The Wall of Iron spell lists the thickness and area of the spell. From that, you get the volume. Look up the density, multiply, and voila.
(12) Elorin: But that's only because some idiot decided to include the materials as a component rather than being only the target
(1) GM: Actually, if you want to get really technical, it's listed as both component and target.....
(11) Kibin: But a 15th(I think) level wizard could create 150 cubic feet of any material he or she wants with that metamagic feat. Per 8th level spell slot spent.
(11) Kibin: Yeah, if you want to get technical, it requires 300 pounds of gold to make 150 pounds of gold coins. o.o
(11) Kibin: But, yeah, wall of iron works.
(1) GM: And do note that for a mineral, the volume goes down considerably.
(11) Kibin: Another neat tibit. Casting a quickened harm and a regular power word kill instantly kills anyone with 175 hit points or lower, no save.
(1) GM: And watch out! Someone could Break the Enchantment on your gold, and it would all go away. You see, it was officially burned up as a material component, so there's nothing on it......
(1) GM: Hmmm... War domain... I haven't assigned him domains, yet.....
(11) Kibin: And don't you dare do that to spite us. :P
(11) Kibin: That would kill anyone except maybe the fighter.
(1) GM: Harm is negative energy based. You're safe for now.
(11) Kibin: :(
** (11) Kibin writes sticky note. Do NOT tell the DM ways to easily kill low HP player characters... **
(1) GM: Do note to add "he doesn't really need the help"
(12) Elorin: Wall of Iron works, but I think Kibin's trick would be a lot faster. According to my calculations, a 16th level caster gets a mere 43.7 gp of iron per casting.
(1) GM: How are you figuring that?
(12) Elorin: 5*5*16 area
(12) Elorin: 1/3 thickness
(12) Elorin: [5.0*5*16/3] -> 133.333333333 volume
(11) Kibin: Not to mention my trick doesn't require you to actually sell anything. :D
(1) GM: Do note, that's in cubic feet. Have you figured out how much it would weigh?
(12) Elorin: found an online calculator to calculate weight from that here
(12) Elorin: got 436.99536147021996 pounds
(12) Elorin: looked up the price in the SRD as 1 sp per pound
(11) Kibin: Oh, and why didn't Kaylin cast an antimagic field when we were in the cleric's office? O.o
(12) Elorin: Given the cost of the material component, he's actually losing money
(1) GM: Are you sure? I got 58120.383075539256 pounds.... using 133 cubic feet.
(1) GM: [58120.383075539256/10.0] -> 5812.03830755
(1) GM: Using the same webpage.
(11) Kibin: Cast antimagic field. The cleric is thus unable to do ANYTHING.
(11) Kibin: Except maybe bonk us on the head a few times.
(12) Elorin: Huh, that's wierd. It must have messed up from me not clearing the tables after calculating with just 1 cubic foot
(1) GM: Yeah.
(12) Elorin: Ah, it only recalculates for the table you edit.
(1) GM: Sorry, I used 133.3333333333 cubic feet.....
(11) Kibin: And the door behind us was locked. And a bunch of us could just stay in front of the door, preventing him from leaving while the melee types tear him apart.
(1) GM: Yeah, you have to hit calculate in order for the other side to refresh.
(12) Elorin: I did
(1) GM: Hmm.... you're right. Interesting.
(12) Elorin: You have to actually clear the table and then calculate to get the other side to change. That, or it's using a quirk of explorer that doesn't work in firefox
(1) GM: Well, I'm using Firefox, and getting the same results, so....
** (11) Kibin hmmms. **
(11) Kibin: If there was a freezing sphere used, then I think nearly the entire lake would be frozen over.
(1) GM: If the freezing sphere strikes a body of water or a liquid that is principally water (not including water-based creatures), it freezes the liquid to a depth of 6 inches over an area equal to 100 square feet (a 10- foot square) per caster level (maximum 1,500 square feet). This ice lasts for 1 round per caster level. Creatures that were swimming on the surface of frozen water become trapped in the ice. Attempting to break free is a full-round action. A trapped creature must make a DC 25 Strength check or a DC 25 Escape Artist check to do so.
(11) Kibin: Well, 1,500 square feet of it anyway.
(12) Elorin: Fabricate is still much more efficient. One repeat fabricate on a big block of gold creates [19277.738231714844*50] -> 963886.911586 gp
(1) GM: Do note that a 400 foot radius lake would have rougly [400*400*3.1415927] -> 502654.832 square feet.
(11) Kibin: O.O
(12) Elorin: that's with 16 cubic feet
(11) Kibin: How big is about 7,000 coins?
(12) Elorin: [7000/50] -> 140 pounds
(12) Elorin: 0.11619620378052731 cubic feet
(11) Kibin: I mean cubic feet wise.
(11) Kibin: Ah. Okay.
(11) Kibin: What about 70,000 coins?
(12) Elorin: [0.11619620378052731*10] -> 1.16196203781
(11) Kibin: Hmmm.
(1) GM: You're looking at it backwards. What you want to find out is how many coins fit in X cubic feet....
(12) Elorin: Of course, that assumes the coins fit together perfectly with no wasted space
(1) GM: Yeah, figure about half that due to stacking issues.
(11) Kibin: Don't you mean twice?
(1) GM: Half the number in the space, double the space for the number - equivalent.
(1) GM: You could also look up Craft (Coins).
(11) Kibin: No, I mean double the space?
(11) Kibin: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/minorCreation.htm holy...
(11) Kibin: Oh wait, it's only an hour per level. Aw.
** (11) Kibin thought he found an easier way than the fabricate. **
(1) GM: Well, you could also Planar Bind an Efritii, and force it to use it's wishes to make gold..... 25,000 gp, three times a day... per efreeti.
(1) GM: You'll need: Magic Circle Against Evil (3rd), Dimensional Anchor (4th or 5th, don't recall at the moment), a good spellcraft check, and Planar Binding (6th). Moment of Prescience (8th) helps.
(11) Kibin: You could also cast one of those with Shades, and tell them to either work for you, or you dispell the spell and they fade back into nothingness.
(1) GM: Wouldn't work. It's an Instant spell, you see....
(1) GM: Dinner - got to go. Hmm....
(11) Kibin: So? :P
(11) Kibin: Huh, objects automatically succeed on saves against it.
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (Oops...Wel, have to leave now.)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: (NPC Eldon.)
(6) Eldon Quickfoot: Disconnecting from server...
(6) Eldon Quickfoot (exit): 19:34
(11) Kibin: (*yawns*)
(11) Kibin: (*pokes Kaylin*)
(12) Elorin: I know this'll disappoint Kibin, but I think it's about time to just declare the session over for this week.
(11) Kibin: Grrr. :(
(2) Kaylin: (back)
(11) Kibin: But I can stay here for a lot longer now...
(1) GM: Back from dinner.
(11) Kibin: I can stay a lot longer today...
(1) GM: Well then, where were we... ah, yes... Kaylin's turn...
(2) Kaylin: (So... NPCd Eldon holding hands...)
(2) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Dimension Door ( level 4, "Short ranged infallible teleport." )
(2) Kaylin: (about 480 feet towards that tunnel)
(1) GM: Wait... 480 feet?
(2) Kaylin: (isn't that across the lake?)
(11) Kibin: (I've always wondered why people never teleport into solid objects.)
(1) GM: Yeah. About fifty feet too far, give or take.
(1) GM: If you arrive in a place that is already occupied by a solid body, you and each creature traveling with you take 1d6 points of damage and are shunted to a random open space on a suitable surface within 100 feet of the intended location.
(2) Kaylin: (because teleports push you aside if you're going into an object)
(1) GM: Well, take [1d6] -> [1] = (1) damage.
(2) Kaylin: (Well, if we're heading into the tunnel that shouldn't be a problem)
** (1) GM grins evilly **
(1) GM: And end up in a random spot within a hundred feet.... *grins
(1) GM: [1d6] -> [4] = (4)
(2) Kaylin: (crap? :P)
(1) GM: [1d100] -> [85] = (85)
(11) Kibin: (Nope. Not good at all.)
(2) Kaylin: (Wait... that's an illusionary tunnel?)
(2) Kaylin: (bugger)
whispering to Kaylin, You end up in a dark area, that's quite silent.
whispering to Kibin, Elorin, Kaylin and Eldon vanish - not that you can see, what with them not having any light sources exposed.
(11) Kibin (whispering): But I have 120 foot dark vision?
(2) Kaylin: (erm, ok... *slaps self*)
whispering to Kibin, You didn't see them vanish (400 feet away) and you didn't see them appear.
whispering to Kaylin, At least the coppery smell is gone.....
(11) Kibin (whispering): Okay then.
(11) Kibin: (So... what now?)
(1) GM: Combat time done for now.
** (11) Kibin flies up the rock cliff and all the outcroppings, seeing what's on the top, and relying on his blindsense to not hit any illusions. **
** (2) Kaylin pulls out her dagger and looks around (light cast on it) **
whispering to Kibin, It's just a cave with a 30 foot cieling. Most the rock outcroppings are fake. There's basically just the one entry to the place; you can't even find a proper entrance....
(11) Kibin (whispering): So... it LOOKS like there's an exit at the top?
whispering to Kibin, Just the one exit from the cave, on the shore, where the fireballs had been coming from. No hole in the cieling - to sight or blindsense.
** (12) Elorin heals himself **
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Cure Critical Wounds ( level 4, "Cures 4d8 damage +1/level (max +20)" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 4 Spell ( level 4, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(12) Elorin: [4d8+20] -> [8,4,7,4,20] = (43)
whispering to Kaylin, The place is fairly empty, of rough stone; some of the cieling has collapsed, and there seems to be some kind of barrel in the room.
(11) Kibin (whispering): Oh, so there is an exit.
whispering to Kaylin, It's somewhat cramped, being a mere 25x25 feet. There are two doors, in the middle of opposite walls.
whispering to Kaylin, One wood, the other iron.
(11) Kibin: (Okay, what does the place that me and elorin is in look like again?)
(1) GM: Rough stone walls; big red lake. About 30 feet of shore around the lake, lake is roughly 400 feet in radius. 30 foot cieling, small island in the center of the lake, with an odd platform.
(1) GM: Lots of rock outcroppings on the shore, most of which have been demonstrated as illusiory.
(1) GM: Jason: So.... where'd Kaylin and Eldon go?
(11) Kibin: (Oh... so there's an island in the middle of a lake, with a shore around it, but the whole thing is in a cave.)
(2) Kaylin (whispering): Any idea which would be in the direction I came from? i.e. which was I was facing when arrived?
(1) GM: Basically. Place smells coppery.
whispering to Kaylin, You know it wasn't too rough a teleport - which puts you within a hundred feet of your intended (occupied) destination, but you don't know how far off of that you were.
whispering to Kaylin, Nor in what direction.
(11) Kibin: (And there's an exit from the cave, on the shore?)
(1) GM: It leaves the room. You don't see light beyond it, however.
** (11) Kibin walks over to the exit, then. **
(1) GM: Jason: Did you see Kaylin or Eldon?
(2) Kaylin (whispering): If I Shapechanged into a Shadow I would gain Incorporeal traits, right?
** (11) Kibin shakes his head at Jason, saying, "Not since I went towards the boat." **
(1) GM: Yes.....
whispering to Kaylin, Yep. Looking for anything specific?
(11) Kibin: (I think.)
(1) GM: Jason: Ah... shouldn't she have come over here by now?
(2) Kaylin (whispering): Well, trying to find a strongish Incorporeal monster to change into. Not familiar with MM though.
** (11) Kibin says, "Maybe." Kibin goes check out the apparent exit to the cave. **
whispering to Kibin, Blindsense reports it's not a wall. Goes mabye 20 feet or so in before hitting another wall, although it seems to open up.
** (11) Kibin walks inside the exit, looking around. **
(1) GM: And spies a few golems. Four of them. Iron. Roll for initiative.
(11) Kibin: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [5,3] = (8)
(11) Kibin: (Crud.)
(1) GM: [4d20] -> [9,14,4,12] = (39)
(11) Kibin: (Gah... must prevent metagaming... must not look up stats for iron golem...)
(1) GM: Dex check: [1d20+5] -> [10,5] = (15)
(1) GM: Elorin - initiative?
(1) GM: Oh, and Kibin - tied one of the golems; re-roll.
(1) GM: [1d20-1] -> [14,-1] = (13)
(11) Kibin: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [19,3] = (22)
(12) Elorin: Dex check: [1d20+6] -> [3,6] = (9)
(1) GM: Jason, Golem 2, Golem 4, Elorin, Kibin, Golem 1, Golem 3
(1) GM: Jason: Find some toys, did you?
(1) GM: Ghost Telekenesis: Manuvers: Standard Action, Concentration: Combat Manuvers (Disarm, Trip, Grapple (Pin), Bull Rush) 14 rounds; +14 for Base Attack, +Cha Mod (11) for dex/str due to method), Wait: [1d4] -> [3] = (3)
(1) GM: Touch: [1d20+14+11] -> [16,14,11] = (41); hold: [1d20+14+11] -> [18,14,11] = (43), opposed: [1d20+28] -> [18,28] = (46)
(1) GM: Jason: Okay, those are a tad annoying....
(1) GM: The golem just shrugs it off.
(1) GM: The golems charge.... the one who walked into the room first. Kibin.
(11) Kibin: (I thank the gods that gave rogues uncanny dodge.)
(1) GM: Charging Slam: [1d20+25] -> [20,25] = (45) for [2d10+11] -> [5,5,11] = (21)
(11) Kibin: (I now hope that I don't die horribly. Ow....)
(1) GM: Ouch, nat-20.
(1) GM: Charging Slam: [1d20+25] -> [9,25] = (34) for [2d10+11] -> [3,8,11] = (22)
(1) GM: Fortunately, not confirmed.
(1) GM: Take 21 damage, and it's Golem-4's turn....
(1) GM: Who also charges.
(1) GM: Charging Slam: [1d20+25] -> [13,25] = (38) for [2d10+11] -> [10,6,11] = (27)
(1) GM: And that hits your AC.
(1) GM: And it's Elorin's turn.
(11) Kibin: (:(
whispering to Kaylin, Make a listen check.
(2) Kaylin (whispering): At some point in all this I'd be casting Shapechange, going for Spectre, and trying to find everyone
(2) Kaylin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [4,4] = (8)

whispering to Kaylin, you hear some loud thunks from the other side of the iron door.
(12) Elorin: (Adamantine arrows. First one normal if you think I haven't had enough experience with such things to guess it immediately)
(1) GM: Oh, you've faced off against enough of them.....
(2) Kaylin (whispering): All right, floating through the door at
(11) Kibin: (Actually, we've never faced off against an iron golem, I believe.)
(11) Kibin: (Now, it doesn't take much brainpower to think "Adamantine pierces hard thing"...)
(1) GM: Unless there's a nat-1 in there, those all hit. And golems are immune to crits. More's the pity.
(12) Elorin: (yeah, I noticed)
(12) Elorin: (shooting at the first one that charged)
(1) GM: Holy doesn't apply, I think everything else does, though.... so [20+23+21+19] -> 83
(1) GM: And your arrows pierce it's body deeply..... but it keeps at it.
(1) GM: Kibin?
** (11) Kibin withdraws, very very fast, into the air beside Elorin if possible. **
(1) GM: Pity they have reach, and it's only the first square that doesn't count as threatened....
(1) GM: Slam: [1d20+23] -> [5,23] = (28) for [2d10+11] -> [7,5,11] = (23)
(12) Elorin: (they charged)
(1) GM: Slam: [1d20+23] -> [19,23] = (42) for [2d10+11] -> [1,5,11] = (17)
(12) Elorin: (so they stopped as soon as they were in reach)
(11) Kibin: (Actually, yeah, I think Elorin is right.)
(1) GM: From opposite sides. And he retreated back.
(12) Elorin: (oh)
(1) GM: And it's only one more hit, for 17.
(11) Kibin: (Not that it matters. 17 damage isn't much.
(1) GM: Oh - Kaylin - Initiative?
(2) Kaylin: Dex check: [1d20+2] -> [10,2] = (12)
(1) GM: And you successfully walk into the room with everyone else, having gone through a short hallway that curved a might....
(1) GM: And you still have a standard action left.
(2) Kaylin: (Close enough to attack w/touch?)
(12) Elorin: (if you really want to get in reach...)
(2) Kaylin: (oh, he forgot to metion. At the moment I'm a Spectre)
(1) GM: You're in a stone room, with lots of stuff in the center. Two doors, one one east, one north, and a jagged opening to the south. You can see Kibin retreating, as well as four iron golems; two right next to the opening to the south, two in corners near you.
(12) Elorin: (oh)
(1) GM: Yeah. A big, ghastly, undead apparition walks through the wall....
** (2) Kaylin attacks an iron golem to show friendliness **
(1) GM: What do you try?
(1) GM: Although it is recognizeably Kaylin, it's got obvious death wounds....
** (11) Kibin thinks, "What the crud?" **
(2) Kaylin: (Touch attack for the moment)
(1) GM: Against the golem? Make your attack roll.
(2) Kaylin: [1d20+6] -> [6,6] = (12)
(1) GM: And that's a hit. To no visible effect....
(1) GM: Golem 1's turn.... who swings at Kaylin....to no effect.
(1) GM: Followed by Golem 3, who charges Kaylin... to no effect.
(1) GM: Jason: You're dead already? Must have eaten your brain.... Golems aren't affected by such things. Pity, it was such a nice brain.
** (11) Kibin chuckles at the golems singlemindedness. hehe. **
(1) GM: Grappling: Touch: [1d20+14+11] -> [12,14,11] = (37), Hold: [1d20+14+11] -> [8,14,11] = (33).
(11) Kibin: (Out of curiosity, what's Jason's intelligence?)
(12) Elorin: (that int 0 really hurts on occasion :P)
(1) GM: Holding Kaylin down. Spectres, he can work with.
(1) GM: Respectable, but he hasn't quite thought about the Shapechange aspect yet.
(1) GM: Kaylin - Opposed roll?
(2) Kaylin: [1d20+7] -> [3,7] = (10)
(11) Kibin: (Hehe. That kind of sucks.)
(1) GM: As a spectre, you have strength --, so can't really grapple; all your equipment merged (can't carry anything, being incorporeal) so you're working with just your BAB - which, at 17th, should be +8/
(1) GM: So no matter what, no passing that grapple check.
(1) GM: Kaylin - you're grappled.
(11) Kibin: (And you know that not looking up the stats of the spectre OR the iron golem is kind of annoying? Stupid curioisity...)
(2) Kaylin: (how do you grapple something with no physical body? o.O)
(1) GM: Magic. Literally, in this case.
(1) GM: The two golems that had been targetting Kibin go to their new target - the only unknown in the room..... to no effect.
(1) GM: As Kaylin's incorporeal.
(1) GM: Elorin?
(11) Kibin: (Incorporeal opponents CANNOT be grappled.)
(11) Kibin: "Incorporeal creatures cannot make trip or grapple attacks, nor can they be tripped or grappled. In fact, they cannot take any physical action that would move or manipulate an opponent or its equipment, nor are they subject to such actions."
** (12) Elorin laughs at the simplemindedness of golems and decides he has time to plink away with his limitless supply of normal arrows rather than using expensive stuff **
(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 1+2) Attack Roll: [1d20+32] -> [15,32] = (47)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [6,5,4,16,0] = (31)
(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 1+2) Attack Roll: [1d20+32] -> [13,32] = (45)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [6,4,2,16,0] = (28)
(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 3) Attack Roll: [1d20+27] -> [12,27] = (39)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [1,1,4,16,0] = (22)
(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 4) Attack Roll: [1d20+22] -> [1,22] = (23)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [8,1,4,16,0] = (29)
(12) Elorin: (same golem as before)
(11) Kibin: (Ghosts can be grappled on the etheral plane, but not on the material plane since they are incorporeal on the material plane.)
(11) Kibin: (But as far as I know, spectres aren't in the etheral plane at all like a ghost, and thus cannot be grappled even by a ghost.)
(1) GM: Hmm... I suppose it's not technically a force effect... so no grappled Kaylin.
(11) Kibin: (Not even a force effect would grapple her.)
(11) Kibin: (Since there's nothing to grapple.)
(1) GM: Yet a Wall of Force would stop her, even though there's nothing to stop.....
(12) Elorin: [7+7+2] -> 16 damage
(11) Kibin: (Yes a wall of force would stop her. Incorporealness is more like being mist, or something?)
(11) Kibin: (A force cage too. But that's not being grappled.)
(1) GM: And it's Kibin's turn.
** (11) Kibin starts hovering near Elorin, facing the golems. **
(1) GM: Several arrows plunk into the golems; one misses, bounces off a rock, and heads towards Kaylin.
(1) GM: [1d20] -> [10] = (10)
(1) GM: And misses.
(11) Kibin: (O.o)
(1) GM: Kaylin?
** (2) Kaylin changes into a Dread Wraith **
** (2) Kaylin tries to touch the grappler golem **
(2) Kaylin: [1d20+16] -> [12,16] = (28)
(1) GM: Grappler golem?
(1) GM: And you touch it, to no apparent effect.
** (11) Kibin hmmms. "I suppose this would be the shapeshifting spell she picked up." **
(2) Kaylin: (hmmm, 2d6 is Su?)
(1) GM: Ah, looking at the wrong entry....
(1) GM: So that's a hit. For actual damage.
(2) Kaylin: [2d6] -> [3,3] = (6)
(1) GM: Just tacking it onto the one Elorin's been hitting.....
(1) GM: Golems continue to pound at Kaylin, uselessly.
(12) Elorin: (I was assuming it did nothing because of their DR)
(1) GM: Jason: Oh... so it was a spell. Okay. Not an issue with an eaten brain.
(11) Kibin: (Negative energy damage goes through damage resistance?)
(1) GM: Touch attacks bypass DR.
(11) Kibin: (Same as fire... same as cold... same as any type of energy damage, really.)
(11) Kibin: (And that. There's always that.)
(1) GM: And it's untyped damage.
(1) GM: Except for the Con drain, which doesn't apply to a construct.
(1) GM: Jason: Let's see.....
(1) GM: Acid Splash, level 0: Orb deals 1d3 acid damage [1d3] -> [1] = (1)
(11) Kibin: (Not metagaming is hard. o.o)
(1) GM: Touch Attack, for use with spells (base): [1d20+7] -> [1,7] = (8) ===> Damage: [Bad dice format] - [0d0+0]
(1) GM: Touch Attack, for use with spells (second): [1d20+2] -> [16,2] = (18) ===> Damage: [Bad dice format] - [0d0+0]
(1) GM: And Jason misses, hitting the wall. Which doesn't really notice.
(1) GM: The other two golems continue to pound on Kaylin... to no effect.
(1) GM: Elorin?
** (11) Kibin watches the pretty sploosh. **
(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 1+2) Attack Roll: [1d20+32] -> [9,32] = (41)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [2,4,6,16,0] = (28)
(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 1+2) Attack Roll: [1d20+32] -> [11,32] = (43)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [2,2,3,16,0] = (23)

(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 4) Attack Roll: [1d20+22] -> [11,22] = (33)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [8,4,2,16,0] = (30)
(12) Elorin: [3+3+6+9] -> 21
(1) GM: Kibin?
(1) GM: All four arrows pound into the target... scratching it mightily.
** (11) Kibin lands on the shore, away from the room, watching silently. **
(1) GM: Kaylin?
** (11) Kibin says to Kaylin, "If you leave the room, they probally won't attack." **
** (2) Kaylin continues to touch the golem **
(2) Kaylin: "Yes, but they might attack you."
(2) Kaylin: [1d20+16] -> [2,16] = (18)
(1) GM: Touch AC 8. You didn't roll a 1.
(2) Kaylin: [2d6] -> [6,5] = (11)
(11) Kibin: I meant attack anyone at all...
(1) GM: And the one Elorin had been plinking into goes down, crumbling to a loose pile of iron plating.
(2) Kaylin: "Eldon is behind a door further along this tunnel."
(11) Kibin: Seeing as how they seem to be programmed to attack anyone in that room?
(1) GM: Two of the golems continue to futily pound at Kaylin....
(1) GM: Jason: Well, as long as you're undead at the moment.....
(1) GM: Evervation, Level 4: 1d4 neagative levels, close ranged touch attack, no save, SR. nagative levels: [1d4] -> [2] = (2)
(1) GM: Empowered.
(1) GM: So that would be 15 temporary HP (1 hour) if it hits.
(1) GM: Touch Attack, for use with spells (base): [1d20+7] -> [19,7] = (26) ===> Damage: [Bad dice format] - [0d0+0]
(1) GM: Touch Attack, for use with spells (second): [1d20+2] -> [14,2] = (16) ===> Damage: [Bad dice format] - [0d0+0]
(11) Kibin: And by LEAVING the room, they do not have to attack anyone inside the room? Thus they will not attack?
(2) Kaylin: (AC 25)
(11) Kibin: I think that's what they're doing, at least.
(1) GM: And Kaylin picks up 15 temporary HP.
(1) GM: A golem flails uselessly at Kaylin....
(1) GM: And then it's Elorin's turn.
(2) Kaylin: Well, make up your minds about what you want to do. I can sit here for hours.
(11) Kibin: Try leaving the room by a few feet or so?
(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 1+2) Attack Roll: [1d20+32] -> [10,32] = (42)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [1,5,3,16,0] = (25)
(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 1+2) Attack Roll: [1d20+32] -> [7,32] = (39)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [2,1,1,16,0] = (20)
(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 3) Attack Roll: [1d20+27] -> [3,27] = (30)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [4,4,3,16,0] = (27)
(12) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (attack 4) Attack Roll: [1d20+22] -> [2,22] = (24)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+16+0] -> [6,6,3,16,0] = (31)
(12) Elorin: [2+3+5+7] -> 17
(1) GM: Or, as the golems are so much dead steel, do we want to fast-forward this? They're defenseless vs. Kaylin.
(12) Elorin: (is that golem dead yet?)
(2) Kaylin: (ffw is fine with me...)
(1) GM: The first is. The one you just started in on is barely scratched.
(11) Kibin: (Fine with me, I suppose.)
** (11) Kibin lays down on the shore while watching Kaylin and the golems. Then after a few seconds, looks down to see what the sand is made out of. **
(1) GM: After Kaylin pokes at them for about ten minutes or so, while Elorin plunks them from outsided their target range, they all die.
(1) GM: Sand seems to be bade out of a fine black powder....
** (2) Kaylin Shapechanges back into elven form **
(1) GM: Jason: Ah, good - you are still alive. That's always nice.
(2) Kaylin: Eldon's down this corridor. I misjudged the teleport.
(11) Kibin: Hmmm.
** (11) Kibin walks over to the room the golems were in, seeing if the sand is there as well. **
(12) Elorin: (22 average damage per round from me, 129 hp each, 6 rounds to kill, should take about 2 minutes for all three)
(2) Kaylin: (120 rounds... long combat ;)
(1) GM: There's a fine black powder over the floor, but not really much. There's also a stack of stuff.
** (11) Kibin lets Kaylin deal with the stack of the stuff, going over to the shore and seeing if the sand is under the "water" **
(12) Elorin: (what kind of stuff?)
(2) Kaylin: Kibin, want to lead the way along this passage to get to Eldon?
** (12) Elorin patches up Kibin when the golems are gone **
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Cure Serious Wounds ( level 3, "Cures 3d8 damage +1/level (max +15)" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 3 Spell ( level 3, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(12) Elorin: [3d8+15] -> [4,4,4,15] = (27)
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Cure Moderate Wounds ( level 2, "Cures 2d8 damage +1/level (max +10)" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 2 Spell ( level 2, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(12) Elorin: [2d8+10] -> [2,2,10] = (14)
(11) Kibin: (Uh... how much is that?0
(11) Kibin: (41? So... full HP.)
(12) Elorin: (assuming your status is accurate, enough for full)
** (11) Kibin shrugs, and goes along the passage to find Eldon like Kaylin instructed. **
(2) Kaylin: Anyone care to detect magical items in this pile?
(1) GM: You took three hits, and were out of temp HP for the day; 27, 21, and 17
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Detect Magic ( level 0, "Detects spells and magic items within 60 ft." )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 0 Spell ( level 0, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(1) GM: Detect Magic, level 0: Detects spells and magic items within 60 ft.
(11) Kibin: (Hmmm.)
(11) Kibin: (There. Now off to find Eldon.)
whispering to Kibin, Sticking your head into the "water"? It's utterly opaque.....
(11) Kibin (whispering): No, sticking a hand in there and taking sand out?
whispering to Kibin, And you get some... and make a Fort save.
(11) Kibin: (How much would it be to pay someone to cast a level 9 psychic power on you?)
(11) Kibin: Fortitude save: [1d20+18] -> [9,18] = (27)
(2) Kaylin: (brb)
(11) Kibin: (Nevermind.)
whispering to Kibin, You get a handful fof red-stained sand.
(11) Kibin (whispering): Hmmm, okay.
whispering to Kibin, And your hand has a thick, red liquid dripping from it.
(11) Kibin (whispering): I'm right now thinking that we all are VERY lucky that Kaylin didn't cast any fireballs.
** (11) Kibin goes search for Eldon in the passageway through the room? **
(2) Kaylin: (back)
(2) Kaylin: (so... any magic items?)
(1) GM: Slight problem... door's in the way, and doesn't open readily. It's a good, solid, wooden door.
(1) GM: Jason: Yeah.... the potions and stick were magic.
(1) GM: Jason: Rest of it? Not so much.
** (11) Kibin tries opening the door again. **
(1) GM: Strength check?
(11) Kibin: Str check: [1d20+1] -> [9,1] = (10)
(11) Kibin: (Grrr, hear me roar. x.x)
(2) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Analyze Dweomer ( level 6, "Reveals magical aspects of subject." )
(1) GM: It doesn't open.
(2) Kaylin: (potions and Stick then)
** (11) Kibin says to Kaylin, "I think you forgot to mention the problem of the stuck door." **
(2) Kaylin: "Stuck door? Hmm... sorry, I walked through it last time."
** (2) Kaylin heads on down the corridor **
(1) GM: In elf form, but the door hasn't been opened yet....
** (11) Kibin hmms, and uses alternate form to assume the shape of a black bear. Then tries to open the door again. **
(1) GM: Strength check?
(11) Kibin: [1d20+4] -> [9,4] = (13)
(2) Kaylin (whispering): Wood door or iron door?
(1) GM: Wood. Still doesn't open.
** (11) Kibin keeps at it, then... **
(11) Kibin: [1d20+4] -> [13,4] = (17)
(11) Kibin: [1d20+4] -> [16,4] = (20)
(2) Kaylin (whispering): I went through the iron though
whispering to Kaylin, There was a hallway, and another door. Glossed over it a bit, as it wasn't particularly important at the time.
(2) Kaylin (whispering): Gotcha.
(2) Kaylin: Hey, Kibin, we picked up a wand of Knock. That will probaly work easier.
(1) GM: And the door seems smug.
** (11) Kibin glares at Kaylin, and goes back to normal. "You could have mentioned that earlier?" **
(2) Kaylin: I just arrived here, give me a moment.
** (2) Kaylin points the wand at the door and activates **
(1) GM: And it opens, with a slight creak.
(2) Kaylin: Feel like checking for traps?
(11) Kibin: (Wait, the stuck DC for a door is 13. O.o)
(1) GM: Depends on the door.
(11) Kibin: (Oh, nevermind.)
(1) GM: That one was 23.
** (11) Kibin searches for traps in the doorway, and beyond the doorway. **
(1) GM: Roll?
(11) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [1,23] = (24)
whispering to Kibin, Seems perfectly clear.
(11) Kibin: (o.o)
** (11) Kibin says, "Seems safe." And walks through. **
(1) GM: What magical effects are currently up and running?
** (2) Kaylin being a fragile wizard goes back into Dread Wraith mode **
(11) Kibin: (Uh, any magic items, the death ward and spell immunity, and the spell that lets me stay a dragon. Which is locked into place by hitdie.)
(1) GM: So nothing to stop it. Cool. Anyone subject to mind-affecting effects, make a Will save, as an odd set of faint tracery in the doorframe flares to life....
(12) Elorin: Will save: [1d20+28] -> [5,28] = (33)
(11) Kibin: Will save: [1d20+18] -> [10,18] = (28)
(1) GM: Kaylin?
(11) Kibin: (Yay, a 10? O.o)
(2) Kaylin: Will save: [1d20+21] -> [14,21] = (35)
(1) GM: Sorry Kibin. You go insane now.
(2) Kaylin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+36] -> [20,36] = (56)
(11) Kibin: (Yay... :(
whispering to Kaylin, Symbol of Insanity.
(1) GM: [1d100] -> [45] = (45)
(1) GM: Kibin - babble incoherently for a while.
(12) Elorin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+21] -> [14,21] = (35)
(2) Kaylin (whispering): Not Permanent?
whispering to Elorin, Symbol of Insanity
(11) Kibin: (Yay babbly! But no clue what to babble about...)
(12) Elorin (whispering): is that high enough to know that Heal fixes it?
whispering to Kaylin, That aspect, you can't tell at this point. The effects on Kibin, however....
whispering to Elorin, Yep.
(11) Kibin: (Ahha! *looks up something*)
(2) Kaylin: Elorin, can you Heal Kibin? Don't want him hurting himself.
(1) GM: [1d100] -> [58] = (58)
(1) GM: Kibin - flee at top possible speed.
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Heal ( level 6, "Cures 10 points/level of damage, all diseases and mental conditions" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 6 Spell ( level 6, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(11) Kibin: (Dang it, you didn't give me a chance for my monty python babbling. :(
(2) Kaylin: (word association football)
(1) GM: So a full run, past Elorin, before he gets the Heal off..... at your move of 120, was it?
(1) GM: So 480 feet into the darkness.....
(11) Kibin: (Actually, with flying, it would be a full move of 400.)
(11) Kibin: (If in a straight line.)
(11) Kibin: (No, 400.)
(1) GM: Jason: Umm.....
(1) GM: Jason: That's not good.
(2) Kaylin: Hmm, he's insane.
(1) GM: Shadow Conjouration, Greater, 7th: As shadow conjuration, but up to 6th level and 60% real
(2) Kaylin: Guess I'd better remove that Symbol.
(1) GM: Jason: Care to ride? (Duplicating a Phantom Steed for Elorin)
(1) GM: Jason: It should be able to keep up, even with Kibin.
(1) GM: [1d100] -> [7] = (7)
(12) Elorin: Sure, but I can't see very far in the darkness
(2) Kaylin: (come to think of it, I can see it enough to target with a Dispel now, shouldn't I?)
(1) GM: Yeah.
(1) GM: Jason: Darkness, right.....
(2) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Greater Dispel Magic ( level 6, "1d20 + 20 dispel check to end spells." )
(1) GM: Kaylin - got any light sources for Elorin?
(1) GM: Dispel check?
(2) Kaylin: [1d20+18] -> [3,18] = (21)
(1) GM: Jason asking about light, of course.
** (2) Kaylin hands Elorin her dagger. **
(2) Kaylin: It's not much, but it's better than nothing.
(1) GM: Yeah, it stays right where it is, glowing merrily away.
(2) Kaylin: (I was talking about the dagger, but that too)
(11) Kibin: (I'll prepare what I'll say when I babble incoherently again.)
(12) Elorin: Thanks
** (12) Elorin flies off on the steed **
(1) GM: And, in just one round, finds Kibin.... [1d100] -> [26] = (26)
(11) Kibin: (Okay, it is prepared.)
(1) GM: Babbling incoherently in mid-air.
(11) Kibin: Witches burn... but what else burns? Wood burns... wood floats... ducks float! Witches are ducks...
** (12) Elorin casts Heal **
(2) Kaylin: (seems a little logical, somehow...)
(11) Kibin: (Hehe.)
(12) Elorin: (reminds me of the test for whether someone was a witch by throwing them in a lake - if she floats (like wood), she's a witch and must be burned (like wood))
(12) Elorin: (if she sinks, well, too late, she's drowned)
(1) GM: (if she sinks, she drowns, and is thus dead either way......)
(11) Kibin: (If I'm going to babble incoherently, then it shall at least be slightly humorous. The heal work?)
(12) Elorin: (should be automatic)
(1) GM: Well, you don't exactly tell the difference between friend and foe, and you aren't crippled.... Touch attack?
(12) Elorin: [1d20+22] -> [6,22] = (28)
(11) Kibin: (Excuse me while I get babbling incoherently number 2.)
(1) GM: Kibin - touch AC?
(11) Kibin: (Uh... hmmm.)
(1) GM: Oh, it's better than that: "Any confused character who is attacked automatically attacks its attackers on its next turn, as long as it is still confused when its turn comes"
(1) GM: As well-intentioned as it was, Elorin attacked you.....
(11) Kibin: (10+ring of protection+5?, plus 3 dexterity, plus 5 from monk belt...
(11) Kibin: (+1 from small size...)
(11) Kibin: (Uh... I think that's it.)
(1) GM: So a mere 24. Good, that's a success.
(11) Kibin: (So 24.)
(1) GM: And the Heal works - Kibin's all better.
(11) Kibin: Tuquiose bicycle sho... what just happened?
(12) Elorin: You succumbed to a Symbol of Insanity on that doorway
(11) Kibin: Oh.
** (11) Kibin flies back to the doorway, then, making sure to NOT go through it. **
(2) Kaylin: Feel like disarming that?
(12) Elorin: Could have been worse. You could have attacked us.
(1) GM: Slight problem... it's an emanation, and it's already active. Will save as you re-enter the area....
(1) GM: Ditto for Elorin.
(11) Kibin: Will save: [1d20+18] -> [6,18] = (24)
(12) Elorin: Will save: [1d20+28] -> [13,28] = (41)
(11) Kibin: (Yay! :(
(2) Kaylin: (erk :P)
(1) GM: [1d100] -> [74] = (74)
(11) Kibin: (Uh, can Kaylin stop me before I do that? x.x)
(1) GM: 74: Attack nearest creature..... which would be Elorin.
(1) GM: Elorin - success. Kibin: Not so much.
(11) Kibin: (Meh. Sneak attack or no sneak attack?)
(1) GM: Roll for initiative.
(12) Elorin: Dex check: [1d20+6] -> [20,6] = (26)
(11) Kibin: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [20,3] = (23)
(11) Kibin: (Lol..)
(12) Elorin: (wow)
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Heal ( level 6, "Cures 10 points/level of damage, all diseases and mental conditions" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 6 Spell ( level 6, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(1) GM: Touch attack?
(12) Elorin: Now, don't leave the area again until it's disarmed
(12) Elorin: [1d20+22] -> [8,22] = (30)
(1) GM: And Kibin's okay again.
(2) Kaylin: Elorin, do you have Greater Dispel Magic?
** (11) Kibin blinks again. "Okay... how about Jason just goes around it, and dimension doors Eldon out of there? **
(12) Elorin: Yes, though I've been using up more spells here than I like and we still haven't gotten that priest
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Greater Dispel Magic ( level 6, "As dispel magic, but up to +20 on check" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 6 Spell ( level 6, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(12) Elorin: [1d20+19] -> [3,19] = (22)
(2) Kaylin: (mmm, we're both sucking on checks.)
(1) GM: The thing continues to merrily glow.
(12) Elorin: (now if only that initiative roll had been for this...)
(11) Kibin: (Is Jason nearby?)
(1) GM: Yep.
(2) Kaylin: Let me try with an ordinary Dispel... can't hurt.
(1) GM: Jason: Yeah... going around does sound like a plan.
(2) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Dispel Magic ( level 3, "Cancels magical spells and effects." )
(2) Kaylin: [1d20+10] -> [8,10] = (18) Dispel
** (11) Kibin asks Jason, "Could you please go around the symbol, and simply teleport Eldon out?" **
(2) Kaylin: (bah! let me get an above average roll, dice!)
(1) GM: The symbol continues to merrily glow.
(1) GM: Jason: Umm.... wouldn't that put him in here? Now that it's not effecting you, how about you disarm it?
(2) Kaylin: Well, the symbol will deactivate in 10 minutes.
(2) Kaylin: I suppose he can sit still for a bit longer.
(1) GM: *per caster level*
(11) Kibin: And activate again?
(2) Kaylin: I don't know yet.
** (11) Kibin sighs, and gets to work disabling the symbol temporarily. **
(2) Kaylin: But it'll be fun to find out.
(12) Elorin: (and then reset and activate again, assuming it's permanent)
(2) Kaylin: (if it's like symbol of Death, isn't there a 10 minute downtime between activations?)
(1) GM: 10 minute down time, yes; theoretically, you could make two symbols, each of which has an activation of "when the other isn't on" Permanency them both, and then have a constant symbol effect over an area....
(2) Kaylin: (hey, that's a good idea....)
(11) Kibin: (I'm assuming the big glowy symbol is a sign of where it is, so...)
(11) Kibin: Disable Device Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [1,23] = (24)
(11) Kibin: (Huh.)
(1) GM: Keeps glowing.
(1) GM: Even though you're quite certain you disarmed it.
(11) Kibin: (Hmmm.)
(1) GM: Wisdom check?
(12) Elorin: (it's getting pretty late here (1 am) and we're about at a good stopping point. How about we stop when the Symbol is finally disarmed?)
(11) Kibin: (I should have gotten another save on the insanity effect a round later...)
(11) Kibin: Will save: [1d20+18] -> [5,18] = (23)
(11) Kibin: (Not that it would have mattered much.)
(11) Kibin: Disable Device Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [19,23] = (42)
(1) GM: That turns it off; you short-circut it's mystic runes successfully, and it burns itself out in a flash of plaid light.
(1) GM: Leaving faint scorch marks on the doorframe.
(2) Kaylin: Excellent...
(11) Kibin: Hmmm.
(2) Kaylin: Those things are so troublesome to remove.
(11) Kibin: (Or you could just cover it up. x.x)
(1) GM: Well, as it's rather late.....
(1) GM:

(1) GM: Hopefully "see" all y'all in two weeks.
(2) Kaylin: (that was fun... see you then and on the forums)
(11) Kibin: (Bye.)
(11) Kibin: (Wow, it is 1 AM.)
