This is a test scenario for the SPWW2 Trains icon set. Unlike Winter Wolves I have tried to assign realistic values and conduct some rudimentary play testing.*

"The war may be over but the shooting hasn't stopped yet" thought Oberstleutnant Vater as another Soviet mortar shell crashed into the railyard. With the surrender of the German forces, his duty now was to get his men home and hopefully in one piece. Looking through the dust and smoke, Vater spotted a train steaming quietly while chaos crashed down around it.
*
"Sawodny" he yelled, "You're an ex-railway man, can that thing move?"
*
"Looks like it as long as the rails are good."
*
"Right, when the barrage lifts, grab all the men you can and let's see if we can get out of here."
*
Vater's random collection of engineers, train crew and other soldiers managed to get rolling and head west. A survey of the cars found one loaded with carboys of what appeared to be water but based on the waybill, it seemed to be something more - maybe something the Americans would trade for the safety of his men. The train rolled west through a devastated countryside lit by the pleasant Spring sunshine. The radio in the command car crackled - the lead car reported an obstruction on the line. The train squeeled to a halt and the engineers piled out to clear the line.
*
Over the hiss of steam, Vater heard the sound of heavy armour approaching....
