Concrete molecules, as they lean on each other, share the stresses, and so more than just the spot that gets hit fractures - the stress is pushed out in all directions; as concrete is hard, it fractures, and so takes more damage.

They don't fit through the hallways, but have enough skill with their swords to smash through the rock, and widen the hall way.....
