Server Administrator-> You have connected to an OpenRPG server, version '1.6.1'.
Welcome to Jack Simth's temporary server!
I put this up just for
a short gaming session on Saturday, and stop it after.
Session is schedualed for 10 AM Pacific Standard Time.
(2) Kibin (enter): 09:43
(1) GM: Morning.
(2) Kibin: Afternoon for me. Heh.
(1) GM: Details. So on workdays, we get up at about the same time.
(2) Kibin: Hmmm?
(2) Kibin: I wake up around 7:30 usually.
(1) GM: Oh, so I actually get up earlier; I start work at 5 am, local, which is 8 am, east coast; to do this, I'm getting up at 3:00 - 3:30, which is 6:00 to 6:30 east coast.....
(2) Kibin: I don't go to a regular school, I go to a homeschool kindof.
(3) No Name (enter): 09:47
(1) GM: Morning. Got a name?
(3) Kaylin: Yep
(1) GM: Cool.
(2) Kibin: Anyone know of a decent free DVD decoder?
(1) GM: It's always good to check Sourceforge first.
(2) Kibin: Ooo, thanks.
(2) Kibin: Today I shall watch the entire Matrix trilogy.
(1) GM: The First is great, the second is meh, the third isn't worth renting.
(2) Kibin: Back-to-back-to-back.
(2) Kibin: I have the collectors set that I got for my birthday.
(1) GM: Well happy birthday.
(2) Kibin: My birthday was in Feburary. Heh.
(1) GM: Oh, well, eventually, then.
(4) Prymja (enter): 09:53
(1) GM: Morning. Anyone we know?
(4) Prymja: Disconnecting from server...
(4) Prymja (exit): 09:55
(2) Kibin: Don't suppose you can find a DVD decoder plugin that'll work with Windows Media Player?
(3) Kaylin: it's possible but WMP is not a particularly good program
(2) Kibin: Interactual player doesn't reconize that decoder either. :P
(3) Kaylin: never heard of it
(3) Kaylin: have you tried VLC or MPlayer yet?
(2) Kibin: Ah... no.
(2) Kibin: I download about 200 times as fast from FRANCE, than USA.
(2) Kibin: O.o
(3) Kaylin: Could be France is their primary server, or significantly more people download from American servers
(2) Kibin: "You all saw it! That orphanage attacked me!"
(2) Kibin: Yay it works.
(2) Kibin: Yay it's not superquiet!
(1) GM: Ping...
(2) Kibin: Yay it crashed!
(3) Kaylin: I'm alive...
(1) GM: So what crashed?
(2) Kibin: The video gplayer.
(2) Kibin: http://www.thetangledweb.net/profiler/view.php?id=58
(2) Kibin: Fear my new sheets low low number of 58.
(5) Prymja (enter): 10:15
(5) Prymja (exit): 10:15
(5) Prymja (enter): 10:15
(2) Kibin: Huh, I just realized that the backdrop in the beginning scene on the roof is 2D.
(5) Prymja: Disconnecting from server...
(5) Prymja (exit): 10:16
(1) GM: Just now?
(2) Kibin: Yeah, when it didn't properly parallax or whatever.
(2) Kibin: "The Informant" hmmm...
(2) Kibin: Oh, that informant. x.x
(2) Kibin: Thanks for telling me about that VLC player by the way, Violist.
(3) Kaylin: It worked for you? :)
(2) Kibin: Yup.
(3) Kaylin: sweet
(2) Kibin: Better than WMP, actually. :P
(2) Kibin: And the interactual player.
(2) Kibin: Ironic when a freeware product is better than a commercial product.
(3) Kaylin: heh
(3) Kaylin: yeah, VLC is probably my favrite movie player
(2) Kibin: Waiting is fun. :P
(2) Kibin: Hey, VLC doesn't have the orange lip problem!
(3) Kaylin: orange lips? o.O
(2) Kibin: Yeah,
(2) Kibin: WMP and the interactual player has slightly off color balance or something, and on some of the scenes in the matrix, lips are orange.
(3) Kaylin: weirrrd
(2) Kibin: Do de do soon we shall meet the necromancer.
(3) Kaylin: well... I shall be right back, I'm going to get something to drink as long as we're waiting
(2) Kibin: ...since when did Kaylin get 113 HP....
(3) Kaylin: +6 amulet
(2) Kibin: Right. :P
(3) Kaylin: gives me 57 more HP
(2) Kibin: ...a prime number? O.o
(3) Kaylin: besides, 113 hp is pretty low right now ;)
(3) Kaylin: 19*3
(2) Kibin: Ah. Okay.
(2) Kibin: Yay you're level 19, I don't have to feel bad about being the first in epic levels.
(3) Kaylin: hehe
(2) Kibin: Lingering damage epic feat. Yaaaaay. :)
(2) Kibin: Not level 21 yet, but will be soon...
(2) Kibin: Then double sneak attack damage yay!
** (2) Kibin does happy dance. **
(1) GM: Well, half an hour past....
(2) Kibin: And if I'm lucky, 17 more HP.
(1) GM: Elorin listed as not showing.
(2) Kibin: Narf will be on soon. :P
(3) Kaylin: ow, group projects
(3) Kaylin: Yeah, finals weeks in colleges...
(2) Kibin: Yup, soon it shall be time for my final exam in english composition.
(2) Kibin: Maybe just NPC the missing people like usual?
(1) GM: I suppose. Well, shall we?
(2) Kibin: CHEESE1
(2) Kibin (exit): 10:39
(3) Kaylin (exit): 10:40

Server Administrator->
Welcome to Jack Simth's temporary server!
I put this up just for
a short gaming session on Saturday, and stop it after.
Session is schedualed for 10 AM Pacific Standard Time.
(2) Kibin (enter): 10:40
(3) Kaylin (enter): 10:40
(2) Kibin: (Nice syncronized join.)
(2) Kibin: (I give it a 10.)
(1) GM: When we last left our heros, they were on their way to excecute the Writ of the King on Chorin.
(3) Kaylin: (I feel lawful :( )
(3) Kaylin: (oh well, it's the right thing to do, I guess)
(2) Kibin: (*feels lawful too, but it's okay for him to feel lawful*)
** (2) Kibin proceeds on with the rest of the group to the necromancer... **
** (3) Kaylin tromp **
(1) GM: And you reach his shop. Where a man exhuberantly greets you, without touching you.
(1) GM: Kibin, make a spot check.
(2) Kibin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+18] -> [20,18] = (38)
(2) Kibin: (Mmm, natural 20s for the win.)
(1) GM: The place is very busy; you can see lots of people busily and noisily working away at various tasks, involved in making large moters. You can even see them dropping a coil of wire into a case.
whispering to Kibin, It's exactly the same as the last time you were by. It's the same polising cloth picking up the same stains. It's the same guy with the same pattern of sweat on his forehead handling the cloth. It's utterly, utterly the same from the last time you scouted the place. The only thing remotely different is Chorin himself. And he's not touching you.
(1) GM: Chorin greets you warmly.
(1) GM: Chorin: Welcome, Welcome! I take it you've heard of my wares, and have come to rent them?
(2) Kibin: (*pokes Kaylin which is better in social situations*)
(3) Kaylin: The king just said we're supposed to remove him from town, right?
(3) Kaylin: ()
(1) GM: Katsuro: At a minimum. All force is authorized, though.
(2) Kibin: (...Kaylin doesn't have that high of a wisdom score, does she.)
(1) GM: Chorin: Ah, so he finally sent me some entertainment, then? Welcome!
(3) Kaylin: Entertainment?
(1) GM: Chorin: A little something to get the blood flowing in my humdrum existence. So what's on the menu today?
** (3) Kaylin rankles a bit at that... **
(3) Kaylin: Well, we were thinking something along the lines of getting you to move shop somewhere else. Without killing anyone unless necessary. Sound acceptable?
(2) Kibin (whispering): Anything that my blindsense would tell me, or wouldn't tell me?
(1) GM: Chorin: Nah, this city is quite profitable.
whispering to Kibin, Curiously, everything reports that there's something there. Including Chorin.
(3) Kaylin: Is gold really worth lives to you?
** (2) Kibin comments to Kaylin, "Yeah, someone making a nice profit is just going to pack up and leave without a fight..." **
(1) GM: Chorin: I haven't killed anyone who didn't try to force their will on mine.
(1) GM: Chorin: Isn't that reasonable?
(3) Kaylin: Reasonable enough.
(3) Kaylin: Even so, if there's many people trying to remove you for your rather unorthodox methods...
(3) Kaylin: perhaps you should question them a little bit. And losing the favor of the king in your operations base can't be profitable, and will result in needless violence.
(1) GM: Chorin: Meh, details. They get results, and the city has never been more prosperous. A hostile king just keeps things interesting. Like you guys.
(2) Kibin: Kaylin, a word with you someplace else for a moment?
** (3) Kaylin nods. "Excuse me, I seem to be causing problems." **
(1) GM: Chorin: You wouldn't be here to entertain me if the King wasn't hostile, would you?
** (3) Kaylin steps back and talks to Kibin **
(1) GM: You find an out of the way corner of the area. Chorin smiles, but doesn't follow.
** (2) Kibin asks Kaylin, "Would it be possible with magic to disguise undead as something else? Like an illusion, but with something more material behind it?" **
(1) GM: Knoweledge(Arcana)?
(3) Kaylin: Knowledge: Arcana Skill Check: [1d20+32] -> [8,32] = (40)
whispering to Kaylin, With a bit of work, one could put a carefully programmed Disguise Self into an item an undead could wear, yes.
(3) Kaylin: (Hmm.... I think I forgot to update openRPG for 19th level, it's not matching TTW...)
(3) Kaylin: "It'd be possible, yes."
(3) Kaylin: "You'd have to work at it but you could make something an undead could don."
(2) Kibin: Okay... well, everyone here 'working' on stuff is doing the exact same thing. Over and over. Since yesterday.
(3) Kaylin: "Hmm..."
(2) Kibin: Even has the exact same pattern of sweat on them.
(3) Kaylin: "Definitely an illusion, then."
(3) Kaylin: "Feel like poking one of them?"
(2) Kibin: Why?
(3) Kaylin: "To see if you can disrupt the illusion magic... they're fragile spells, a lot of the time."
(3) Kaylin: "If nothing else, to see how Chorin reacts. I'd rather not fight someone willing to talk civilly."
(2) Kibin: And start conflict immediately?
(2) Kibin: Ah, fine, I'll try to do it subtly...
(3) Kaylin: "You think he might attack if we did that?"
(2) Kibin: Perhaps, not sure... eh, lets try that anyway. If stuff goes bad, Elorin can take care of them if they're undead...
(2) Kibin (whispering): I'm starting to think that he doesn't have the leadership feat after all...
(3) Kaylin: "I always wonder why gods continue to allow undead even though they're so opposed... perhaps dietific power balances evenly..."
(2) Kibin: That's... basically it, I think.
(3) Kaylin: "Another option might be for me to try to magically discern the forces acting upon these workers..."
(2) Kibin: Which takes time, and is not something easily disguised...
(3) Kaylin: "Bah, people do tend to notice casting spells, don't they..."
(2) Kibin: You go back to talking with him?
(3) Kaylin: "I suppose I could... but that conversation seemed to be going nowhere particularly useful."
(2) Kibin: How about I rephrase that. You go back to stalling him?
(3) Kaylin: "Absolutely acceptable."
** (3) Kaylin wanders back to Chorin **
(1) GM: Chorin: Ah, so how did the conversation go? Private enough for the two of you, I hope.
** (2) Kibin wanders... off. And tries to subtly brush up against one of the 'workers' without making it look like he's meaning to. **
(3) Kaylin: "It went decently. Basically, though, we're still going to need to request that you move operations to another city."
(1) GM: Chorin: Ah. Well, I'm afraid that while I'm willing to open a branch office elsewhere, I like my current headquarters.
(3) Kaylin: "Have you investigated other locations much? There could be hidden benefits."
(2) Kibin: Bluff Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [14,23] = (37)
(1) GM: Chorin: So you see, I'm not going anywhere.
(1) GM: Sense Motive: [1d20+10] -> [12,10] = (22)
(1) GM: Chorin: I'm rather... dug in... as it is. It would take something rediculously perferfect for a move to be worthwhile.
** (3) Kaylin sighs **
(3) Kaylin: "I suppose legal routes aren't going to be sufficient to force a change in location?"
(1) GM: Chorin: Not particularly, no.
(2) Kibin: (...okay, NOW Kaylin is acting lawful.)
(3) Kaylin: (Legal == not violent)
(2) Kibin: (Not legal == can also be not violent.)
(2) Kibin: (Legal == very violent, especially as the supreme ruler of the region gave us permission to use force.)
(1) GM: So, Kibin, what are you attempting under everyone's nose?
(2) Kibin: (Brushing up against one of the 'workers' to attempt to disrupt whatever illusion magic there is, if any.)
whispering to Kibin, The worker offers resistence to physically brushing up against him. Oh, and make a will save.
(2) Kibin: Will save: [1d20+18] -> [13,18] = (31)
whispering to Kibin, The illusion fades, somewhat.... it's actually a black baloon-looking thing in the rough shape of a person, going through the motions.
(1) GM: Chorin tilts his head slightly, as though he heard a sound.
(3) Kaylin: "Something the matter?"
(1) GM: Chorin: Do leave the workers to their tasks, they're quite busy.
whispering to Kibin, The shape completely ignores the fact that you brushed against it.
(1) GM: Chorin: Although as you're here, I imagine you already have a reasonable idea as to what's up. So I suppose it doesn't matter overly much.
** (3) Kaylin shakes her arms a little bit, anticipating imminent casting. **
** (2) Kibin comes back to Kaylin, saying, "Let's just leave him alone for now, and not bother him..." **
(1) GM: Chorin: Ah, I see you're getting frightened, now. Scaredy little adventurers, eh? Pity. I was hoping for something worthwhile.
(1) GM: Chorin: Ah well, no matter.
(1) GM: Chorin: Expected more out of a dragon. Sheesh. Such courage.
(1) GM: Chorin rolls his eyes.
(1) GM: Chorin: Well, if you find your backbone, I'll be waiting in my office.
(3) Kaylin: "Well, if this is the level we have to worry about, I think you're right, Kibin."
** (3) Kaylin wanders off and waves casually to Chorin. **
(1) GM: Chorin: Take care.
(3) Kaylin: "You too."
(1) GM: Chorin turns his back on you, heads into the back of the building, opens a door, walks through, and closes it behind him.
** (2) Kibin walks outside too, following Kaylin. **
(3) Kaylin: "Well, that was productive... I really don't want to have to start an open fight, bystanders might get hurt, but I think we're losing options here."
** (2) Kibin asks Kaylin, "The workers don't have an illusion exactly... I think... or undead... they're just black balloony thingies." **
(3) Kaylin: "Black balloons?"
whispering to Kaylin, Spellcraft check?
(3) Kaylin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+38] -> [8,38] = (46)
whispering to Kaylin, It sounds like someone adapted a Shadow spell to fake up people.....
(3) Kaylin: "Well, sure. That'd be possible. I'm surprised not too many people have noticed, though."
(2) Kibin: There's a force repulsing people away from them, or something.
(3) Kaylin: "That'd account for it nicely."
(3) Kaylin: "So, any ideas for stopping this operation aside from hitting Chorin until he stops resisting?"
(2) Kibin: One possibility would be to show the people of the city what's really in those motors.
(2) Kibin: Then he'll have to move in order to stay in buisness. Run out of town most likely too.
(3) Kaylin: "Perhaps."
(3) Kaylin: (Didn't we agree last session that that wasn't a good idea?)
(2) Kibin: (Before talking to the king, yeah.)
(2) Kibin: (But... I don't remember what the king quite said about the existing motors...)
(3) Kaylin: (He seemed to think that informing people at large of the motor source was a bad idea)
(2) Kibin: (Not that then. Hmmm.)
(2) Kibin: We of course could just kill him... or at least immobilize him so that the proper authorities can put him in jail or whatever.
(3) Kaylin: "Jails... are prone to being broken out of."
(1) GM: Katsuro: The king's Writ didn't list confinement as an option. Well, if it's outside the city, maybe, but otherwise....
(2) Kibin: Hmmm, right.
(2) Kibin: We could theoretically stick him on another plane, though that's kind of hard.
(2) Kibin: Or we COULD just beat him to a pulp until he gives up and travels to another city.
(3) Kaylin: "That's certainly the simplest option."
(2) Kibin: Yes, it is.
(3) Kaylin: "He seemed anxious to fight as well."
(2) Kibin: Probably because he expects to easily defeat us or something?
(3) Kaylin: "Most likely."
(2) Kibin: Get some magical protections against necromancy, then go in there and talk to him in his office?
(3) Kaylin: "I know Elorin has some useful spells to protect against necromancer's magic."
(1) GM: Elorin: I can stop negative energy, and a few choice spells, yes.
(2) Kibin: Want to go in right now?

(2) Kibin: (What about spell immunity?)
(1) GM: Elorin: Any are there any particular spells you're averse to getting hit by?
(3) Kaylin: "Anything that requires being physically resilient. Flesh to Stone, Disintegrate..."
(1) GM: Elorin: That's two. Do you have a third prefference?
(2) Kibin: Harm?

(2) Kibin: (It's negative energy.)
(3) Kaylin: (oh, so it is...)
(2) Kibin: (Ah well, not that important.)
(3) Kaylin: (Punch-up!)
(1) GM: So harm's Doubly covered, in case of a Dispel Magic....
** (3) Kaylin goes over and opens the door to his office **
(1) GM: You see Chorin sitting behind his desk, looking over some papers.
(1) GM: Chorin: Ah, found your backbone, have you? Do come in.
** (3) Kaylin holds the door open for the others to come in.... **
(1) GM: Who steps through first?
** (2) Kibin glances over to Elorin. **
(1) GM: The office is quite cluttered, although there is a lot of clear space on the floor; everything seems to be up against one wall or another on at least one side.
(1) GM: Chorin slides his chair back and stands.
(2) Kibin: (Elorin has some of the best saves, so...)
(1) GM: Chorin: What? Not actually brave enough even to step into my office?
(3) Kaylin: "It's only polite to let others in... although nobody seems to want to..."
(1) GM: Chorin: Unbelieveable.
(1) GM: Jason steps through the door, seemingly suffering no ill effect.
** (3) Kaylin shrugs and walks on in. **
(1) GM: Chorin: There, see? That wasn't so hard.
(1) GM: Reflex save?
(3) Kaylin: Reflex save: [1d20+13] -> [3,13] = (16)
(1) GM: You hear a ripping sound as the paper floor rips under your weight.
(1) GM: And you fall.
(2) Kibin: (Reflex save to pull Kaylin back?)
(1) GM: Dex and Strength check.
(3) Kaylin: Dex check: [1d20+2] -> [12,2] = (14)
(3) Kaylin: Str check: [1d20-1] -> [6,-1] = (5)

(2) Kibin: Str check: [1d20+1] -> [13,1] = (14)
(3) Kaylin: (oh)
(2) Kibin: (Wait, dex should be +4...)
(1) GM: You can't quite grab Kaylin in time.
(2) Kibin: (wait, +3. :P)
** (3) Kaylin thinks "wheee" **
(1) GM: So, got Slowfalling?
(3) Kaylin: (ring of feather fall)
(1) GM: That's how many feet per round?
(3) Kaylin: (60)
(2) Kibin: (10 feet a second. Which is actually pretty fast.)
whispering to Kaylin, After a full half-minute, you land gently on some spikes with an icky goo on them.
(2) Kibin: (Technically it would be double the speed of a walk though... hmmm.)
whispering to Kaylin, It's completely dark.
(1) GM: Kaylin drifts quickly down into the darkness.
** (3) Kaylin concentrates... **
(1) GM: Chorin: So, is anyone else going to come into my office, or do I face the lady alone?
(3) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Wish ( level 9, "Alter reality by speaking a word." )
(3) Kaylin: (crap, not wish.)
(3) Kaylin: (Shapechange, wrong click)
(3) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Shapechange (sp) ( level 9, "Spell-Like Ability: Shapechange 2/day (Free action polymorph for 10 min/level" )
(1) GM: Okay.
(1) GM: And what do you become?
(3) Kaylin: (Let's go with a Planetar, if it seems that I could fit without hurting self.)
(1) GM: Yeah, the pit is big enough for that.
(1) GM: And that gives you darkvision, among other things.
** (2) Kibin sighs, and flies into the office, hovering in midair above the pit. **
whispering to Kaylin, Within the range of your darkvision, the pit just goes straight up and down. About 200 feet up, however, you find a closed door, with no ledge.
** (3) Kaylin starts flying vertically **
(3) Kaylin (whispering): (I'm going to be heading to the top of the pit at first)
whispering to Kaylin, Do note that 200 feet above where you started flying is still 100 feet below the top of the pit.
(1) GM: Chorin: Hmm... should have invested in a gelatinous cube, instead. No matter.
(1) GM: Chorin: Well, is anyone else coming, or do I deal with the lovely winged elf all by myself?
(3) Kaylin (whispering): (on noticing the rather slow fly speed, go Dread Wraith next round and start climbing up through the wall of the pit)
** (2) Kibin is in the office as well... **
(1) GM: Let's see... Kibin hovering above the pit.
whispering to Kaylin, Kaylin in the pit wall at the top....
(1) GM: Jason just standing in the middle of the air.
(1) GM: And Elorin and Katsuro just outside the door.
(1) GM: Chorin is still just smiling.
(1) GM: Kibin - Spot check?
(2) Kibin: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+18] -> [9,18] = (27)
whispering to Kibin, You notice the floor underneath Chorin, the desk, and everything else in the room dropped a little when Kaylin fell through the floor... but all the stuff in the office (including Chorin) didn't go down at all.
(1) GM: Chorin: So, how long are you going to keep me waiting?
** (2) Kibin hmmmms, and flies down further into the pit. **
whispering to Kibin, About a hundred feet down, you see a door in the wall, with no ledge. The pit continues down another 200 feet, ending in spikes with some kind of goo smeared on them.
whispering to Kibin, Pit is 300 feet deep, total.
** (2) Kibin hmmms. "Ah, that's your office." **
(2) Kibin (whispering): Can I identify the goo?
whispering to Kibin, Appraise check?
(2) Kibin: Appraise Skill Check: [1d20+6] -> [2,6] = (8)
(3) Kaylin (whispering): If I reach the top and Chorin is still there, it'd be time to try to touch him.
(2) Kibin (whispering): Guess not.
whispering to Kaylin, And you touch him. Make a will save.
(3) Kaylin: Will save: [1d20+22] -> [15,22] = (37)
whispering to Kaylin, The features on "Chorin" fade, leaving a black baloony-thing in the approximate shape of Chorin.
(3) Kaylin (whispering): Does that not trigger Lifesense?
(1) GM: Chorin: So, are you done playing around, and ready to meet me in my office?
** (2) Kibin says to the people up there, "Hey you people. Come down here already if you can fly." **
whispering to Kaylin, Strangely, it does detect as a living thing in good health.
(3) Kaylin (whispering): Time to go back to the door 100 feet down, then...
(1) GM: Elorin flies down at Kibin's call, and Katsuro successfully climbs down the rough stone.
(1) GM: Jason just walks downwards.
Elorin casts Light ( level 0, "Object shines like a torch" )
Elorin can cast Light 98 more times
Elorin casts Level 0 Spell ( level 0, "Spell slot tracking device" )
Elorin can cast Level 0 Spell 5 more times
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [8,23] = (31)
(1) GM: Elorin lights up his bow, and you can see the door.
** (2) Kibin searches for traps first on the door... can't be too careful. **
whispering to Kibin, And you find one. A Glyph, you think.
(2) Kibin: Disable Device Skill Check: [1d20+27] -> [13,27] = (40)
** (2) Kibin gets to work disabling something on the door with his tools. **
whispering to Kibin, And you think you short-circut the magical tracings.
** (2) Kibin tries opening the door then. **
(1) GM: Kibin tugs on the handle to no effect.
** (2) Kibin sets to work unlocking the door... **
(2) Kibin: Open Lock Skill Check: [1d20+21] -> [18,21] = (39)
(1) GM: And kibin successfully saws through the bar on the far side, though a very thin, carefully angled gap in between the door and the doorframe.
(1) GM: Fortunately, the saw was rediculously flexible....
** (2) Kibin then opens the door. **
(1) GM: The door opens onto the pit, without incident.
(2) Kibin: (Beyond the door?)
(1) GM: A tunnel, which ends in yet another door.
** (3) Kaylin crawls along the ceiling of the tunnel **
** (2) Kibin lands in the tunnel, walking along while searching for traps in the tunnel and on the door. **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [1,23] = (24)
(2) Kibin: (Mmm, natural ones.)
(1) GM: Let's see... what's everyone's alignment?
(2) Kibin: (Lawful good for me...)
(1) GM: Okay, Will saves, everyone.
(3) Kaylin: (CG, but right now I'm in an LE body)
(3) Kaylin: Will save: [1d20+22] -> [18,22] = (40)
(1) GM: Kaylin: Success, take [78/2] -> 39 damage.
(1) GM: Kibin?
(2) Kibin: Will save: [1d20+18] -> [20,18] = (38)
(1) GM: Likewise.
(2) Kibin: (Whoooooo natural 20.)
(1) GM: Will save: [1d20+28] -> [19,28] = (47)
(1) GM: Will save: [1d20+19] -> [11,19] = (30)
(1) GM: Will save: [1d20+8] -> [17,8] = (25)
(1) GM: Incorporeal Miss; 50 or less, no damage: [1d100] -> [10] = (10)
(1) GM: Everyone saves except Jason, for whom it doesn't matter this time around.
(1) GM: So everyone takes 39 damage.
** (2) Kibin winces and comments, "Oookay, I might have missed one back there." **
(1) GM: Elorin: It would appear so.
Elorin casts Mass Cure Light Wounds ( level 5, "Cures 1d8 damage +1/level for many creatures" )
Elorin can cast Mass Cure Light Wounds 98 more times
** (2) Kibin searches for traps a little more carefully on the door... **
Elorin casts Mass Cure Light Wounds ( level 5, "Cures 1d8 damage +1/level for many creatures" )

Elorin casts Mass Cure Light Wounds ( level 5, "Cures 1d8 damage +1/level for many creatures" )

(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [4,23] = (27)
(3) Kaylin: (no CLW for me, and I doubt I'm visible anyways)
(1) GM: [3d8+58] -> [8,8,8,58] = (82)
(1) GM: Ah, yes - and you're incorporeal at the moment: 50 or less misses [1d100] -> [85] = (85)
Elorin casts Level 5 Spell ( level 5, "Spell slot tracking device" )
Elorin can cast Level 5 Spell 3 more times

Elorin casts Level 5 Spell ( level 5, "Spell slot tracking device" )
Elorin can cast Level 5 Spell 1 more time
(3) Kaylin: (incorporeal and in the ceiling)
(1) GM: And Elorin heals everyone up.
(1) GM: Yep. You manage to avoid getting hurt.
(3) Kaylin: (yay :)
(1) GM: Due to a lack of line of effect.
(1) GM: You reach the far door otherwise uneventfully.
** (3) Kaylin says to the group as a whole "It's Kaylin, I'm in the ceiling above you..." **
(2) Kibin: (I find anything with that 4?)
(1) GM: All clear.
** (3) Kaylin floats down some distance behind the group and resumes being elven. **
** (2) Kibin checks the door a few more times to be sure... **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [12,23] = (35)
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [13,23] = (36)
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [11,23] = (34)
(1) GM: You still don't find anything.
** (2) Kibin tries opening the door then. **
(1) GM: Listen checks?
(2) Kibin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+21] -> [6,21] = (27)
(3) Kaylin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [13,4] = (17)
whispering to Kibin, You can hear the sound of voices giving orders, axes and saws grinding away, and hammers pounding. The orders seem rather uncessesarily explicit, to the point of saying exactly how to move the hammer/saw/ et cetera.
whispering to Kaylin, You faintly hear something on the other side of the door.
(2) Kibin: Elorin, out of curiosity, do you have a few of those mass heal thingies ready?
(1) GM: Elorin: Yes. Expecting to be very, very hurt soon?
(2) Kibin: Not particually.
** (2) Kibin tries opening the door, and if that doesn't work tries unlocking the door first. **
whispering to GM, [123+19*4] -> 199
(2) Kibin: Open Lock Skill Check: [1d20+21] -> [2,21] = (23)
(1) GM: Kibin successfully locks the unlocked door.
(1) GM: And then unlocks it again, just to show off.
** (2) Kibin opens the door, then. "Hello!" **
(1) GM: Inside, you see a mass of skeletons working under the direction of various dwarves. They're all wearing a particular green hat.
(1) GM: Roll for initiative.
(3) Kaylin: Dex check: [1d20+2] -> [9,2] = (11)
(1) GM: [1d20+5] -> [16,5] = (21) [1d20+5] -> [11,5] = (16) [1d20+5] -> [16,5] = (21) [1d20+5] -> [10,5] = (15) [1d20+5] -> [11,5] = (16)
(2) Kibin: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [16,3] = (19)
(2) Kibin: (*hopes Elorin will pick up on the hint and do some skeleton obliterating*)
(3) Kaylin: (what kind of skeletons?)
(1) GM: Various. But the ones that just dropped what they were doing look like dragons.
(1) GM: Dex check: [1d20+5] -> [11,5] = (16)
(1) GM: Dex check: [1d20+5] -> [20,5] = (25)

(1) GM: Dex check: [1d20+6] -> [1,6] = (7)
(2) Kibin: (Why not just roll one check for all of them to make things simpler?)
(1) GM: Yeah, I suppose. Jason, Elorin, Kibin, Katsuro, Skeletons, Kaylin
(1) GM: Jason Tries to hold one down.
(1) GM: Ghost Telekenesis: Manuvers: Standard Action, Concentration: Combat Manuvers (Disarm, Trip, Grapple (Pin), Bull Rush) 14 rounds; +14 for Base Attack, +Cha Mod (11) for dex/str due to method), Wait: [1d4] -> [2] = (2)
(2) Kibin: (A dwarf?)
(1) GM: Touch: [1d20+25] -> [2,25] = (27), Hold: [1d20+25] -> [13,25] = (38), Opposed: [1d20+27] -> [5,27] = (32)
(1) GM: A skeleton. Which is tangled up in Jason's force of will.
(1) GM: Elorin takes the hint.... but with the size and spread, can only catch two:
Elorin casts Mass Heal ( level 9, "As heal, but with several subjects" )
Elorin can cast Mass Heal 98 more times
Elorin casts Level 9 Spell ( level 9, "Spell slot tracking device" )
Elorin can cast Level 9 Spell 2 more times
(8) Katsuro (enter): 12:35
(1) GM: Morning.
(1) GM: Inside, you see a mass of skeletons working under the direction of various dwarves. They're all wearing a particular green hat.
(8) Katsuro: (Sorry I'm late. I woke up, closed my eyes for a few minutes and it was twelve.)
(1) GM: Various types of skeletons, But the ones that just dropped what they were doing look like dragons.
(1) GM: Jason, Elorin, Kibin, Katsuro, Skeletons, Kaylin
(2) Kibin: (No more non-lethal force for him. :P)
(1) GM: Five skeletons trying to kill you at the moment, Jason holding one down; Elorin just cast a spell, and the two skeletons he cought in it's range try vainly to resist: [1d20+8] -> [4,8] = (12), [1d20+8] -> [9,8] = (17)
(1) GM: Neither succeeds... and both remain standing.
(1) GM: Kibin?
(2) Kibin: (Hmm?)
(2) Kibin: (Ah, right, my turn.)
** (2) Kibin charges at one of the dwarves controlling the skeletons, and bites him in a weak spot. **
(1) GM: Attack and damage rolls?
(2) Kibin: [1d20+25] -> [12,25] = (37)
(1) GM: That's a hit.
(2) Kibin: [1d6+6+9d6] -> [4,6,4,3,1,5,4,5,3,2,1] = (38)
(1) GM: And the dwarf drops dead as kibin's sword goes stright through it's eyeball into it's brain, and walks around a little.
(2) Kibin: (Bite, not sword? O.o)
(1) GM: Or claw. Or tooth. Or whatever you used.
whispering to Kibin, He tastes slightly rotten.
(1) GM: Several of the human skeletons continue sawing away, even though they've already gotten through what they were cutting.
(1) GM: Katsuro?
(8) Katsuro: (Aiming at the skeletons, Bane Undead.)
** (2) Kibin says to the rest of the people, "Kill the dwarves first!" **
(8) Katsuro: Imbued Longbow, composite +5, Holy, Strong, Bane Arrows Attack Roll: [1d20+27] -> [13,27] = (40) ===> Damage: [1d8+2+5+2d6+7+2d6+0] -> [3,2,5,6,3,7,6,5,0] = (37)

(8) Katsuro: (Just a second too late.)
(2) Kibin: (Kill the dwarves first so they, you know, can't order ALL of the skeletons to kill us?)
(2) Kibin: (Bah. :P)
(1) GM: Flat-footed AC 11; no nat-1's, so all three hit.
(1) GM: Are you targetting the skeletons that Elorin caught in a Mass Heal, or focosing on a "healthy" one?
(8) Katsuro: (How tough do they look?)
(1) GM: They are fifteen foot tall mounds of bone.
(1) GM: With claws and teeth.
(8) Katsuro: (The ones caught in the mass heal.)
(1) GM: Both of those two shatter under the impact of your bow; the third arrow hits a healthy one, that doesn't react.
(1) GM: Skeleton's turn.....
(1) GM: The three surviving skeletons all focus on Kibin, as he was the first into the room.
(1) GM: Pity Kibin charged into reach....
(1) GM: Bite [1d20+19] -> [8,19] = (27) melee [2d8+10] -> [1,1,10] = (12) and 2 claws [1d20+14] -> [16,14] = (30) melee [2d6+5] -> [1,2,5] = (8) and [1d20+14] -> [6,14] = (20) for [2d6+5] -> [4,2,5] = (11) and 2 wings [1d20+14] -> [2,14] = (16) melee [1d8+5] -> [7,5] = (12) and [1d20+14] -> [3,14] = (17) melee [1d8+5] -> [8,5] = (13) and tail slap [1d20+14] -> [5,14] = (19) melee [2d6+15] -> [6,4,15] = (25)

(1) GM: Not that, you know, they can hit worth a dime....
(2) Kibin: (One bite got a nautral 20... so 13 damage.)
(1) GM: Don't forget the (5%) crit chance: [1d20] -> [5] = (5)
(2) Kibin: (Not that I care about such a small piddly amount of damage. :P)
(1) GM: And it's Kaylin's turn.
** (3) Kaylin targets one of the remaining dragons and tries to hit it with a green ray... **
(3) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Disintegrate, Empowered ( level 8, "Makes one creature or object vanish." )
(1) GM: Turning back into an elf first?
(3) Kaylin: (Already did)
(3) Kaylin: (back before we opened the door)
(1) GM: Fort [1d20+8] -> [19,8] = (27) - not that it's liable to do much...
(3) Kaylin: Ranged Touch Attack Roll: [1d20+11] -> [15,11] = (26) ===> Damage: [0+0] -> 0
(3) Kaylin: Ranged Touch Attack Roll: [1d20+6] -> [9,6] = (15) ===> Damage: [0+0] -> 0
(1) GM: Touch attack hits. What's your Save DC on a 6th level spell?
(3) Kaylin: (28 with Spell Focus (Transmutation)
(1) GM: Roll damage.
(3) Kaylin: [40d6] -> [3,6,1,6,1,4,3,2,5,6,2,5,1,1,4,1,1,5,3,4,2,5,6,6,1,5,4,6,4,2,1,4,2,6,1,1,3,1,3,2] = (129)
(3) Kaylin: (times 1.5...)
(1) GM: And do you hit an untouched one, or a healthy one?
(3) Kaylin: (untouched)
(1) GM: [129*1.5] -> 193.5
(2) Kibin: (...aren't the untouched ones by default healthy?)
(1) GM: Much of it's structure vanishes into black dust, but it remains standing.
(1) GM: They're undead, so they're unhealthy.
(1) GM: It wasn't a typo. Really....
(3) Kaylin: (done)
(1) GM: ... Honest....
(1) GM: So we've got two damaged, two dead.
(2) Kibin: (... and I don't suppose that Kaylin followed my advice. Meh.)
(2) Kibin: (How many more dwarves?)
(1) GM: Lots, but they're running into the assorted doors around the hall, abandoning their work as they notice the dragon skeletons aren't doing so hot.
(1) GM: Anyway....
(1) GM: Jason grapples again....
(1) GM: Touch: [1d20+25] -> [14,25] = (39), Hold: [1d20+25] -> [11,25] = (36), Opposed: [1d20+27] -> [15,27] = (42)
(1) GM: But can't keep a firm grip.
(1) GM: Elorin, seeing that they all clustered around Kibin, goes for another Mass Heal.
Elorin casts Mass Heal ( level 9, "As heal, but with several subjects" )
Elorin can cast Mass Heal 97 more times
Elorin casts Summon Monster VIII ( level 8, "Calls extraplanar creature to fight for you." )
Elorin can cast Summon Monster VIII 98 more times
Elorin casts Level 9 Spell ( level 9, "Spell slot tracking device" )
Elorin can cast Level 9 Spell 1 more time
(1) GM: [1d20+10] -> [10,10] = (20), [1d20+10] -> [12,10] = (22), [1d20+10] -> [12,10] = (22)
(1) GM: The two damaged ones explode in a shower of light, and the third shudders briefly.
(1) GM: Kibin's back up to full health.
(1) GM: Kibin?
(2) Kibin: (How many of the dwarves can I catch in a cone?)
(1) GM: None are in range. They started running when the Red Dragons started going down.
(1) GM: Skeletons. Dragon Skeletons.
(2) Kibin: (Assuming I move to get as many into range as I can?)
(1) GM: What's your move?
(1) GM: They scattered - they're familiar with area effects, it would seem.
(1) GM: You can catch maybe one.
(1) GM: If you can make 120 feet and still use your breath weapon.
(1) GM: Action?
(1) GM: Okay, my router is working....
(1) GM: I can definately see the net....
(8) Katsuro: (I'm on.)
(3) Kaylin: (I'm alive)
(1) GM: Seems Kibin's delaying for a bit.
(1) GM: Katsuro?
(8) Katsuro: (Are any of the dwarves staying and fighting or controlling undead?)
(1) GM: No, they're all running, leaving the skeletons to follow their last orders. Which is usually pretty harmless, save for the lone dragon skeleton that's still standing having been ordered to kill you.
(8) Katsuro: Imbued Longbow, composite +5, Holy, Strong, Bane Arrows Attack Roll: [1d20+27] -> [12,27] = (39) ===> Damage: [1d8+2+5+2d6+7+2d6+0] -> [5,2,5,1,4,7,5,3,0] = (32)

(8) Katsuro: (Is it still standing?)
(1) GM: Not after that first arrow, no.
(1) GM: The skeleton collapses around Kibin in a pile of shattered bones.
(8) Katsuro: (Does that mean I can save the second two?)
(1) GM: Yep.
(8) Katsuro: (No sense wasting arrows on skeletons that are just standing around.)
(1) GM: Oh, they're all engaged in some task or another - mostly involving sawing, hammering, et cetera on something that no longer needs it.
(8) Katsuro: (Those with meelee weapons should probably smash them.)
(1) GM: (What, you don't have a backup?)
(1) GM: Elorin goes around systemically cutting skeletons to ribbons - they don't defend themselves meaningfully.
(1) GM: Masterwork Longsword (attack 1) Attack Roll: [1d20+27] -> [17,27] = (44)===> DMG: [1d8+12+2] -> [5,12,2] = (19)

(1) GM: After about an hour, they're all gone (there were a lot of them)
(3) Kaylin: (brb)
(8) Katsuro: (Meelee weapon or Manual of Dexterity...Meelee weapon or Manual of Dexterity...)
(1) GM: So, you're in a workshop with lots of wood, steel, cheap tools, and shattered skeletons.
(1) GM: There's also a dead dwarf lying on the floor.
(1) GM: The cieling is quite tall.
(8) Katsuro: (I read that as skattered sheletons.)
(8) Katsuro: (Presumably there's doors?)
(1) GM: The place is completley unlit.
(2) Kibin: (Back, sorry...)
(1) GM: There seems to be doors about ever fifteen feet along the walls. The dwarves scattered through them, for the most part.
(1) GM: The doors seem to be fairly cheap, intended more for privacy and to keep sound out than anything else.
(8) Katsuro: (For the most part?)
(1) GM: What's the range on your darkvision?
(2) Kibin: (120 feet for me.)
(1) GM: They all seem to be of the same manufacture. And it's a very large, basically round, room.
(8) Katsuro: (Not sure I have any.)
(1) GM: Then you're limited to the normal light put off by Elorin's light spell - 20 normal, 40 shadowy.
(8) Katsuro: (Can I retro-actively buy Goggles of Night for this?)
(1) GM: Which means technically you should have been rolling a 20% miss chance, but oh well.
(1) GM: Yeah, sure.
(8) Katsuro: (Thanks.)
whispering to Kibin, You see all the walls from the middle of the room - barely - and all the doors are basically identical. There's three like the one you came through, and a largeish hatch in the cieling. Otherwise, though, the room is just a mess.
** (3) Kaylin changes form into a planetar. **
(3) Kaylin: "Any preference on which door?"
(2) Kibin (whispering): The ceiling in this room?
(8) Katsuro: (Which way did we come in from?)
whispering to Kibin, Is about 80 feet up at it's highest, and is vaulted. About 10 feet at the edges, and the hatch in the cieling is at the middle, the highest point.
** (2) Kibin looks up, asking, "How about the ceiling?" **
(1) GM: Back in a bit.
(1) GM: Make that about half an hour or so.
(2) Kibin: (Oookay.)
(3) Kaylin: (all right)
(1) GM: Or not. Back.
(2) Kibin: (Oookay.)
(1) GM: Those with low light-vision can just barely see something that might be a door at the edge of their vision, in the cieling.
(1) GM: So of course everyone took a walk when I went to help out, and found out I was only needed for some short-term heavy lifting. Of course. Well, water's good.
(2) Kibin: (Ginger ale is good too.)
(1) GM: So who's doing what?
** (2) Kibin goes and fly up to the ceiling, hovering, and searching for traps on the door. **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [8,23] = (31)
whispering to Kibin, You just barely manage to notice some etched runes....
** (3) Kaylin looks up at the ceiling **
(2) Kibin: Disable Device Skill Check: [1d20+27] -> [15,27] = (42)
** (2) Kibin gets to work short-ciucuiting the trap... **
(1) GM: And you think you cut the right runes.....
** (2) Kibin flies down, saying, "Traps gone. I hope." **
** (3) Kaylin flies up to the door **
(1) GM: Elorin follows, bringing his light source with him.
(1) GM: Jason: katsuro, can you fly?
** (2) Kibin follows back up again... "You're a lot easier to follow when you can't fly..." **
(8) Katsuro: (No.)
(8) Katsuro: "No."
(1) GM: Jason: Ah. Well, I can give you a lift for a time.... but I can't support your weight indefinately. A minute and a half, tops.
(3) Kaylin: "I might be able to carry you in this form."
** (2) Kibin asks Kaylin, "Do you have a spell or something to let him fly?" **
(1) GM: Jason: Can you ride?
** (3) Kaylin flies down to Katsuro and tries picking him up. **
(3) Kaylin: Strength: [1d20+7] -> [15,7] = (22)
(2) Kibin: (What form is Kaylin in?)
(3) Kaylin: (Planetar)
(1) GM: Planetar; Large, Str 25, light load is [266*2] -> 532
(2) Kibin: (ah.)
(1) GM: Katsuro, between you and your equipment, how much do you weigh?
(3) Kaylin: (hopefully not that much :)
(1) GM: Probably not.
(1) GM: Unless he's walking around in adamantium fullplate or something....
(8) Katsuro: (Er, not that much. No armor, no shield.)
(1) GM: Okay. So up and away the knight goes in the princess's arms.
** (3) Kaylin flaps her wings a little harder with the extra weight but manages to carry Katsuro. **
(1) GM: You're not even under a light load. No encumbrance at all.
(2) Kibin (whispering): *just realized how that Princess eats Dragon plotline could actually work with your dice-based plot system...*
(3) Kaylin: "So, open the door, someone?"
(2) Kibin: Oh. Right.
** (2) Kibin opens the door. **
(1) GM: What's your maximum lift while flying?
(2) Kibin: (50 or so.)
(1) GM: The thing isn't locked, but it is oak, and reasonably thick - looks like it might double as a floor. Unfortunately, it opens up, not down.
** (2) Kibin asks Jason, "A little help here?" **
(1) GM: Ghost Telekenesis: Lift Opponent: Standard Action, Concentration: Off Ground 14 rounds (if under 300 lbs, Will save DC 28), Wait: [1d4] -> [1] = (1)
(1) GM: Jason: Ah, right....
(1) GM: Jason pushes open the door, which empties into a room 20 feet wide, 20 feet tall, and very long. It's done as a tunnel, and is taller in the middle than on the sided.
(1) GM: It seems made of stone.
(1) GM: Seems to go back the direction you came from, over the hallway you came in, for the most part. Not quite as long, though.
** (2) Kibin lands on the floor, hmming. **
(1) GM: And fails to search for traps, first. One goes off.
** (3) Kaylin deposits Katsuro on the ground **
(1) GM: And the cieling turns to mud.
(1) GM: Reflex saves, everyone who's corporeal.
(2) Kibin: Reflex save: [1d20+24] -> [11,24] = (35)
(8) Katsuro: Reflex save: [1d20+11] -> [12,11] = (23)
(3) Kaylin: Reflex: [1d20+13] -> [1,13] = (14)
(1) GM: Lunch, back in a minute. Katsuro and Kaylin both pinned, and take [8d6] -> [6,5,4,5,3,1,4,3] = (31) damage. Kibin gets out of the way.
(2) Kibin: (My bad. :P)
(1) GM: Well, back in a half an hour or so....
(2) Kibin: (Bye. Again.)
(3) Kaylin: (*quickly prepares a light lunch*)
(2) Kibin: (Yay bunch of smiths!)
(1) GM: Back.
(1) GM: And a moment after the roof turns to mud, a second glyph goes off, and the mud turns back into rock.....
(2) Kibin: Ooops...
(1) GM: In it's new shape, completely burying Kaylin and Katsuro.
** (3) Kaylin shifts into a dread wraith and floats out of the rock **
** (3) Kaylin then shifts into a Beholder and zaps some rock with a Disintegrate **
(1) GM: The rocks gives way (being mundane) leaving Katsuro untouched.... other than being lightly covered in a fine black dust.
(2) Kibin: Sorry about that...
** (3) Kaylin back to Planetar, then. **
(3) Kaylin: "No problem. It's a little uncomfortable being encased, but not that difficult to escape from."
(8) Katsuro: "For a shapeshifter..."
(2) Kibin: I'm pretty sure from those traps we've been facing that whoever the necromancer is can fly somehow...
(3) Kaylin: "Well, yes. Are you all right, Katsuro?"
(8) Katsuro: "I'm well enough."
** (2) Kibin goes on down the tunnel towards where the pit was, searching CAREFULLY for traps. **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [1,23] = (24)
(2) Kibin: (The dice hate me.)
(1) GM: And you run straight into a Maximized Forbiddence. Make a Will save.
(3) Kaylin: (ow)
(2) Kibin: Will save: [1d20+18] -> [6,18] = (24)
(1) GM: Take [12*6] -> 72 damage.
** (8) Katsuro winces. **
(1) GM: Everyone else sees it blast Kibin, however, and hang back.
** (2) Kibin steps back, asking Elorin, "Healing would be nice, please..." **
Elorin casts Heal ( level 6, "Cures 10 points/level of damage, all diseases and mental conditions" )
Elorin can cast Heal 98 more times
Elorin casts Level 5 Spell ( level 5, "Spell slot tracking device" )
Elorin can cast Level 5 Spell 0 more times
** (2) Kibin hmmms, wondering out loud, "Wonder if that can be disabled like those runes..." **
(1) GM: Qualifies as a magic trap, yest
(2) Kibin: Disable Device Skill Check: [1d20+27] -> [14,27] = (41)
** (2) Kibin gets to work disabling it then. **
(1) GM: And Kibin successfully disables the Forbiddence.
** (3) Kaylin continues walking along. **
** (2) Kibin follows, searching. **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [12,23] = (35)
(1) GM: And you come back to a similar door in the cieling.
whispering to Kibin, And you don't find any traps on it.
** (2) Kibin pokes the door carefully. **
(1) GM: It is also a heavy door.
(1) GM: It doesn't respond to the poke.
(2) Kibin: Jason, if you would do the honors again of opening the door?
(1) GM: Ghost Telekenesis: Lift Opponent: Standard Action, Concentration: Off Ground 14 rounds (if under 300 lbs, Will save DC 28), Wait: [1d4] -> [1] = (1)
(1) GM: Jason pushes it open with brute force of will.
(1) GM: Above, you see the workshop.... with those half-illusory workers busily working away.
(1) GM: You can hear some panic outside; apparently, a segment of the street collapsed under a wagon.....
(2) Kibin: Oooops... didn't the tunnel lead in another direction?
(3) Kaylin: "I think we went the wrong way..."
(3) Kaylin: "Sounds like there was an incident with the tunnel collapsing."
** (3) Kaylin flies up and turns back into an elf, then investigates the street collapse. **
** (2) Kibin waits in the tunnel for Kaylin to return. **
(1) GM: It looks like the ground fell about ten feet or so before stabilizing when the supporting ground underneath it suddenly turned to mud. The wagon's ruined, and there's a few broken bones, but nobody seems to have been killed.
** (3) Kaylin walks back to the hole. **
(3) Kaylin: "Nobody died. If you feel like a random act of charity, Elorin, there's a few broken bones, but otherwise we should find the real office."
Elorin casts Mass Cure Light Wounds ( level 5, "Cures 1d8 damage +1/level for many creatures" )
Elorin can cast Mass Cure Light Wounds 95 more times
%s Tried to cast %s but has used all of them for today,Please rest so I can cast more. % ( charNameL, name )
** (2) Kibin walks along the tunnel again, then, searching carefully for traps again... **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [18,23] = (41)
Elorin casts Level 6 Spell ( level 6, "Spell slot tracking device" )
Elorin can cast Level 6 Spell 5 more times
whispering to Kibin, You don't find any traps.
** (2) Kibin continues walking over the door, and the other direction of the tunnel if there is one... **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [16,23] = (39)
(1) GM: No, it ends where you came in... although there is some rubble to climb over.
** (2) Kibin flies back down the door then into that room. Then searches all the identical doors for traps. **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [9,23] = (32)
(1) GM: And you find one.
(1) GM: On the first of the stronger doors, like the one you'd originally come into the workshop through.
(2) Kibin: (On just one door?)
(2) Kibin: (Ah, okay.)
** (2) Kibin gets ti work disarming it... **
(1) GM: You only made the one search check....
(2) Kibin: Disable Device Skill Check: [1d20+27] -> [4,27] = (31)
whispering to Kibin, And you successfully cut a critical rune. Or so you think....
** (2) Kibin opens the door then.. **
(1) GM: It opens; seems it's unlocked. You find yourself facing a long hallway again, going further from the shop. It's a largish hallway, about ten feet tall, and ten feet wide. Looking back, you see where the wall the door was in could be pushed up to get a wagon or something through.
(1) GM: Kaylin, spellcraft check?
(3) Kaylin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+38] -> [5,38] = (43)
whispering to Kaylin, The walls in this section look to be the result of a Wall of Stone spell after something tunneled through.
(3) Kaylin: "Hmmm, this looks like magically created stone. Something must have dug through here."
(2) Kibin: No, I thought that these tunnels were just natural!
(1) GM: Knoweledge (Dungeoneering)?
(3) Kaylin: Knowledge: Dungeoneering Skill Check: [1d20+16] -> [6,16] = (22)
whispering to Kaylin, Probably done as a cheap construction method. Sommon Monster III can get you a Dire Badger to make the inital tunnels, Wall of Stone to secure the tunnel after.....
(3) Kaylin: "Magically digging tunnels is quick and efficient. It would not take long to dig a hole, go through the wall, and then seal the gap behind oneself."
(2) Kibin: ...so?
** (3) Kaylin shapechanges into an Elder Xorn and starts gliding around the walls looking for a passageway **
** (2) Kibin walks along the hallway, searching for traps... **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [18,23] = (41)
(3) Kaylin: (Only in the area that seems magically created to me, though)
whispering to Kibin, Traps are conspicuously absent....
** (8) Katsuro follows Kibin...Twenty feet behind. **
whispering to Kaylin, The entire length of this hallway. Actually, I was mostly mentioning it as a flavor element - one of the ways a dungeon could be built in fairly short order......
(3) Kaylin (whispering): Ah, well, guess I won't find anything then :)
** (3) Kaylin eventually goes back into the passageway and resumes being Planetarial. **
(2) Kibin: (And... Kaylin tells us something?)
(3) Kaylin: "Well, didn't find anything particularly interesting."
(1) GM: The tunnel is very long, and curves around different things. After about an hour of a snail's pace (takes a full-round action to search a five-foot square.....) you fgure you must have wandered outside town by now.
(1) GM: And still the tunnel meanders along.
** (2) Kibin hmmms. "Want to follow this and see where it goes?" **
whispering to Kibin, Although you do find some footprints every now and again while you're searching. Seem recent, even.
(8) Katsuro: "I find myself curious."
** (2) Kibin shrugs, stops searching, and walks along the path. **
(1) GM: After an hour of full-speed walking, you find a door, sized to the tunnel.
** (2) Kibin searches for traps on that door... **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [13,23] = (36)
whispering to Kibin, The door is suspiciously untrapped.
(2) Kibin: Hmmmm...
** (2) Kibin opens the door? **
(1) GM: The door opens with no trouble, to a large, empty, room.
** (3) Kaylin winds up as an elf by the time we hit the door **
(1) GM: You do see two other doors, however.
(8) Katsuro: "Hmm...Any tracks?"
** (2) Kibin sighs. "Maybe we should stop and ask someone for directions..." Kibin checks the floor for tracks. **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [5,23] = (28)
(1) GM: Triangle door is the one you came in.
(1) GM: You do find tracks, but it looks like someone deliberately and systemically went everywhere in the room.
(1) GM: While searching for tracks, though, you trip a simple alarm spell, which rings noisily.
** (2) Kibin picks a random door, goes to it, and searches for traps. **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [18,23] = (41)
(12) Elorin (enter): 14:34
(1) GM: Afternoon. How'd it go?
(1) GM: So far, NPC Elorin has burned through two 9th, all 4th and 5th level spell slots, as well as four 8th.
(1) GM: But he started the session well rested.
(12) Elorin: (Well, no one set any specific time to meet, one person just set he'd be working both afternoon and evening, and no one was there when I went to our usual meeting place. I waited a little while then came back and figured the research I think needs to be done can just as easily be done from my computer instead of the lab and I can at least pay some attention to this at the same time.)
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 9 Spell ( level 9, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 9 Spell ( level 9, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 4 Spell ( level 4, "Spell slot tracking device" )

(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 8 Spell ( level 8, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 8 Spell ( level 8, "Spell slot tracking device" )
** (2) Kibin continues searching for traps on the door... **
(12) Elorin: (I take it we're in a dungeon crawl as suggested last time?)
(1) GM: Summery: Following Chorin (business necromancer) into his lair. The "office" at the shop was a trap - paper floor, 300 foot pit. Was also a concealed entrance to the real shop. Party took care of the guardians handily, (they were only CR 8) and starting looking around. Ran into a few traps, found a very long tunnel..... and just now found a room at the end.
whispering to Kibin, The door is untrapped, however....
(1) GM: The ground rumbles beneath your feet...
(1) GM: Roll for initiative.
(12) Elorin: Dex check: [1d20+6] -> [10,6] = (16)
(2) Kibin: Reflex save: [1d20+24] -> [6,24] = (30)
(2) Kibin: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [6,3] = (9)
(2) Kibin: (Failed my reflex save in finding the dexterity roller. :P)
(1) GM: [1d20+4] -> [2,4] = (6)
(3) Kaylin: Dex check: [1d20+2] -> [12,2] = (14)
(8) Katsuro: Dex check: [1d20+5] -> [17,5] = (22)
(1) GM: Dex check: [1d20+5] -> [1,5] = (6)
(1) GM: Dex check: [1d20+5] -> [5,5] = (10)
(1) GM: [1d20+4] -> [9,4] = (13)
(1) GM: Katsuro, Elorin, Kaylin, Kibin, Critters, Jason
(1) GM: The ground is rumbling slightly.
(1) GM: Katsuro?
** (8) Katsuro gets out of the room - Back the way we came, about thirty feet. **
(8) Katsuro: (Also, Power Surge.)
(1) GM: Elorin?
(3) Kaylin: (What do these critters look like?)
(1) GM: Not visible as of yet.
** (12) Elorin delays **
(1) GM: Kibin?
(12) Elorin: (just curious, what did I spend all those 4th and 5th level spell slots on? Death Ward for the whole party?)
** (3) Kaylin steps back into the corridor. **
(3) Kaylin: (Yes, lots of Death Ward :)
** (2) Kibin follows Katsuro in getting out of there. **
(1) GM: Yep. Followed by several hours of no need for the spell, when the party found out that the villian was elsewhere.
(12) Elorin: (hope we finish up quickly (in game) then, that only lasts 20 minutes)
(12) Elorin: (already gone, then)
(2) Kibin: (Wait. Wouldn't that techncially mean we completed the king's request, since the necromancer is not in the city most likely?)
(1) GM: A little misdirection on the part of a villian looking for entertainment....
(3) Kaylin: (You want to go back and tell him that he was probably never in town?)
(1) GM: He requested "for good" you see.....
(12) Elorin: (and the 8th levels were Greater Spell Immunity, I'm guessing)
(1) GM: Yep.
(2) Kibin: (...maybe the KING is the necromancer. O.o)
(3) Kaylin: (he'd have less hp...)
(12) Elorin: (necromancers tend to not have so much hp that Heal isn't automatic full health)
(3) Kaylin: (The guy wasn't healed fully by what, 200 HP?)
(1) GM: Let's see... how high of a Con bonus do you need at these levels to soak over 150?
(2) Kibin: (He could have a cohort that makes the oils for him.)
(2) Kibin: (And...yeah, I'm probally gripping on straws here.)
(1) GM: Assuming average rolls and a Wizard-20, you've got 50 from levels, so you just need 100+ from Con. At 20th, that's only +5 or so. A Con of 22 would do it. For a Wizard.
(1) GM: You've already been told this guy is clerical.....
(2) Kibin: (Or not. :P)
(3) Kaylin: (he casts cleric-only spells)
(1) GM: It's just a possibility.
(1) GM: Anyway....
(1) GM: Kaylin's turn.
** (3) Kaylin steps back into the corridor with Katsuro **
(1) GM: Kibin wanted to step out...
(1) GM: And everyone's in a nice, tight bundle. Fun.
(1) GM: Two heads poke out of the ground. Looks like a long, gray, worm, only much, much larger than any you'd expect.
** (12) Elorin is still wherever he was standing in the room **
(3) Kaylin: (And a Wail of the Banshee later...)
(1) GM: A double-blast of cold hits Kibin, Kaylin, and Katsuro - two reflex saves each, please.
(3) Kaylin: Reflex save: [1d20+13] -> [8,13] = (21)
(2) Kibin: Reflex save: [1d20+24] -> [19,24] = (43)
(3) Kaylin: Reflex save: [1d20+13] -> [5,13] = (18)
(8) Katsuro: Reflex save: [1d20+11] -> [2,11] = (13)
(2) Kibin: Reflex save: [1d20+24] -> [9,24] = (33)
(8) Katsuro: Reflex save: [1d20+11] -> [10,11] = (21)
(2) Kibin: (But if it's a blast of cold, do I really need to dodge? O.o)
(12) Elorin: (Katsuro, remember Withstand)
(2) Kibin: (Katsuro needs a ring of evasion. Then he's immune to anything needing a reflex save 95% of the time...)
(1) GM: DC 19; Kaylin fails one but not the other, and takes [10d6+0.5*10d6] -> [5,1,4,5,6,5,5,3,6,3,19.5] = (62.5) cold damage.
(8) Katsuro: (Whoop. Ok, I use Concentration.)
(1) GM: Kibin isn't bothered.
(8) Katsuro: Concentration Skill Check: [1d20+21] -> [2,21] = (23)
(8) Katsuro: Concentration Skill Check: [1d20+21] -> [1,21] = (22)
(3) Kaylin: (I have Evasion too.)
(8) Katsuro: (And...It isn't very helpfull...)
(12) Elorin: (arguably, since Withstand converts it to a skill check, that also removes the auto-fail on 1 rule)
(2) Kibin: (O.o)
(1) GM: No, just, no.....
(1) GM: So Kaylin Evades, and takes only 43 damage.
(12) Elorin: (I won't argue if Jack rules otherwise, though)
(1) GM: (Potentially house-ruled if need be....)
(1) GM: And that's one success. Got Evasion?
(1) GM: If so, that's [10d6] -> [3,4,2,4,5,4,2,5,1,2] = (32), or with an extra [10d6/2] -> 20.0 without.
(8) Katsuro: (Katsuro? No, don't think so.)
(2) Kibin: [10d6/2] -> 20.5
(2) Kibin: (Hmmm.)
(2) Kibin: [10d6/10] -> 3.7
(1) GM: One of them concentrates.... [1d20+32] -> [16,32] = (48)
(1) GM: Will saves, everyone.
(2) Kibin: Will save: [1d20+18] -> [9,18] = (27)
(8) Katsuro: Will save: [1d20+9] -> [9,9] = (18)
(8) Katsuro: Will save: [1d20+9] -> [2,9] = (11)
(3) Kaylin: Will save: [1d20+22] -> [5,22] = (27)
(8) Katsuro: (Man, I'm rolling low...)
(12) Elorin: Will save: [1d20+28] -> [15,28] = (43)
(1) GM: Katsuro, You're Held by Hold Monster.
(1) GM: It's a full-round action to attempt to break free the next time your turn comes up.
(1) GM: Jason's immune to mind-effecting stuff.
(2) Kibin: (Yay, another thing I'm utterly immune to. :P)
(1) GM: The other burrows through the floor and swallows the now-helpless Katsuro,
(1) GM: Magic Circle Against Evil, 3rd: As protection spells, but 10-ft. radius and 10 min./level.
(8) Katsuro: (...I may be playing that Minatuar Barbarin Kensai sooner than I thought...)
(1) GM: Jason casts a spell on himself, and gets it around the party.
(8) Katsuro: (Hmm...What do you guys think of converting the game to the Hero System?)
(1) GM: Katsuro? Trying to break the paralysis?
(3) Kaylin: (As opposed to.. d20?)
(8) Katsuro: Will save: [1d20+9] -> [5,9] = (14)
(2) Kibin: (Considering I don't have any HERO system books and would mean I'd have to learn another system? No thank you.)
(8) Katsuro: (Will, I suppose?)
(1) GM: Failure.
(1) GM: Correct.
** (12) Elorin takes his delayed action to cast Heal on the one that swallowed Katsuro **
(3) Kaylin: (I have no familiarity with the hero system)
(12) Elorin: (defensively, of course)
(8) Katsuro: (Just musing.)
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Heal ( level 6, "Cures 10 points/level of damage, all diseases and mental conditions" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 6 Spell ( level 6, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(2) Kibin: (Elorin, why not try casting MASS HEAL.)
(1) GM: Concentration check?
(2) Kibin: (You know, heal the party AND damage them at the same time?)
(12) Elorin: (can't fail)
(8) Katsuro: (It's a generic, system-heavy game. However, it's relatively intuitive.)
(12) Elorin: (I only have 2 of those left, and I'm not sure it's needed yet)
(1) GM: SR Penetration?
(12) Elorin: [1d20+20)
(8) Katsuro: (You can make pretty much anything with it.)
(12) Elorin: [1d20+20] -> [8,20] = (28)
(1) GM: The spell fizzles.
(2) Kibin: (I actually know how the HERO system works, but I only know 4th edition, and even that took me about several months to learn. :P)
(12) Elorin: (touch attack: [1d20+23] -> [19,23] = (42))
(3) Kaylin: (What kind of knowledge roll would be appropriate for these things? Religion?)
(1) GM: Correct.
(3) Kaylin: Knowledge: Religion Skill Check: [1d20+16] -> [7,16] = (23)
whispering to Kaylin, You think you've seen them before, but that time, you only saw one of the undead worms....
whispering to Kaylin, Can't remember anything about them in the heat of battle, though.
(1) GM: Kibin?
(8) Katsuro: (Didn't take me that long...At least, for the player-only stuff. And I didn't try to memorize everything.)
(2) Kibin: (Are those the same things that we fought in that one cavern, the undead worms?)
(8) Katsuro: (No harder than remembering all those D20 feats, skills and class features.)
(12) Elorin: (just looked up swallow whole, and I think the creature has to wait to this round to do it)
(1) GM: Cinematics for swallowing a completely helpless opponent (Katsuro was paralized at the time)
(2) Kibin: (Elorin. Would you rather that Katsuro get Coup De Graced this round?)
(1) GM: Much easier to swallow something that doesn't move.....
(2) Kibin: (Instead of simply swallowed whole?)
(1) GM: Anyway....
(1) GM: Kibin's turn.
(1) GM: Well, he could have been Coup De Graced that round, technically.... but the worms are hungry.
(1) GM: And as these things have power attack, that automatic hit would have been nat-20 territory on the Fort save.
(2) Kibin: (Are those things the same as that undead worm we found in that cavern a while back?)
(1) GM: (Yep)
(2) Kibin: (Hmmm. It was not sneak attackable, so...)
(12) Elorin: (undead are never sneak attackable, and their status as undead tends to be rather obvious I think)
** (2) Kibin hmms. He thinks those don't have vital areas that are easy to hit, and he doesn't do all that much damage without hitting those areas, so... Kibin flies down the tunnel getting out of danger. **
(1) GM: Kaylin?
(8) Katsuro: (And the Hero Designer makes the system much, much easier.)
** (3) Kaylin tries to zap the worm that engulfed Katsuro with a few fiery rays, then steps back down the corridor. **
(3) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Scorching Ray, Empowered Maximized ( level 7, "Ranged touch attack: 3 rays, each deals 24 + .5(4d6) fire damage, range 25 ft. + 5/2 levels" )
(3) Kaylin: Ranged Touch Attack Roll: [1d20+11] -> [10,11] = (21) ===> Damage: [0+0] -> 0
(3) Kaylin: Ranged Touch Attack Roll: [1d20+6] -> [6,6] = (12) ===> Damage: [0+0] -> 0
(1) GM: SR penetration?
(3) Kaylin: SR penetration: [1d20+26] -> [1,26] = (27)
(12) Elorin: (why the different bonuses on the rolls?)
(1) GM: The beast is completely unaffected by the spell.
(3) Kaylin: (BAB +9)
(1) GM: They're fired at the same bonus. All THREE
(12) Elorin: (all rays from one cast get the same bonus - they aren't treated as iterative attacks)
(1) GM: Although only the first would get sneak attack damage on it.... not that it matters much.
(3) Kaylin: (Hrm. three rolls, might need to make a new category.)
(1) GM: Taking a move action?
(3) Kaylin: (only one SR check, though?)
(12) Elorin: (only one spell)
(3) Kaylin: (yeah, 30 feet away down corridor)
(1) GM: Critter's turn. And about the only things they can reach easily are elorin and Jason. And Elorin seems the bigger threat.
(1) GM: Bite [1d20+29] -> [15,29] = (44) and Sting [1d20+24] -> [20,24] = (44)
(1) GM: Bite [1d20+29] -> [11,29] = (40) and Sting [1d20+24] -> [14,24] = (38)
(1) GM: Elorin, what's your AC?
(12) Elorin: (41)
(1) GM: So two hits; [4d6+21] -> [6,5,6,5,21] = (43) and [2d8+11] -> [6,6,11] = (23)
(1) GM: And an utter failure to grapple.
(1) GM: Oh, and Katsuro - take a negative level.
(1) GM: Jason attempts to possess the one that swallowed Katsuro.
(1) GM: Ghost Malevolence: Will Save DC 26 (15 + Ghost's Cha modifier) or possess subject
** (12) Elorin thinks maybe the rest of the party should get rings of freedom of movement too) **
(1) GM: Will save: [1d20+25] -> [18,25] = (43)
(2) Kibin: (Don't need one, immune to paralysis anyway. :P)
(1) GM: And Jason is violently tossed back out.
(1) GM: Katsuro - Will save? Do remember you've got a negative level giving you a -1
(12) Elorin: (aren't undead immune to that anyway?)
(1) GM: Intelligent undead are not. You see, it's not mind-affecting, it's necromancy......
(1) GM: Unintelligent things don't have a soul to replace, and are immune.
(8) Katsuro: Will save: [1d20+9] -> [17,9] = (26)
(8) Katsuro: (25)
(1) GM: And that's a success (DC 23)
(1) GM: You'll get to attempt tunneling out of the beast next round....
(1) GM: Elorin?
** (12) Elorin 5-foot steps towards the door and casts **
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Mass Heal ( level 9, "As heal, but with several subjects" )
(12) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 9 Spell ( level 9, "Spell slot tracking device" )
(12) Elorin: SR: [1d20+20] -> [7,20] = (27)
(12) Elorin: SR: [1d20+20] -> [9,20] = (29)
(12) Elorin: (failed on both, probably)
(12) Elorin: (oh well, still healed everyone I could reach)
(12) Elorin: (except Jason)
(1) GM: SR 31, yes. You had exactly a 50% chance.
(1) GM: Kibin? Staying away or joining the fray?
(2) Kibin: (Staying away. :P)
(1) GM: Kaylin?
(8) Katsuro: (Kibin needs an undead-slaying weapon.)
(3) Kaylin: (how far away is the worm?)
(1) GM: You moved 30 feet. They haven't gone anywhere. They are about 40 feet from you.
(2) Kibin: (Kaylin, don't forget you should still have shapechange active and don't have to waste spells...)
(3) Kaylin: (Actually, it's been 3 hours if I accounted correctly)
(2) Kibin: (Ah.)
(2) Kibin: (That would explain how Katsuro got negative levels, no death ward. x.x)
(3) Kaylin: (Spent a long time in the corridor and hacking skeletons)
(1) GM: Which is the full 180 minutes of her duration. With a bit of extra time for things like wakling through doors.....
(1) GM: So, doing anything?
** (3) Kaylin tries again with a scorching ray on the worm, and steps back another 30 feet. **
(3) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Scorching Ray, Empowered Maximized ( level 7, "Ranged touch attack: 3 rays, each deals 24 + .5(4d6) fire damage, range 25 ft. + 5/2 levels" )
(1) GM: SR penetration?
(3) Kaylin: SR: [1d20+26] -> [3,26] = (29)
(3) Kaylin: (AARGH)
(1) GM: The dice are not with us.
(1) GM: [100d20] -> [20,18,2,5,18,5,9,9,14,19,18,1,10,4,3,3,9,7,13,9,2,10,8,17,1,14,11,5,3,20,2,10,9,1,12,9,12,10,19,13,20,8,13,20,7,17,4,16,17,18,14,2,20,8,7,11,6,12,13,1,5,7,3,15,2,12,5,12,12,13,3,13,8,12,11,9,1,14,14,8,13,14,17,14,19,7,17,18,17,16,8,7,14,16,1,6,17,2,20,8] = (1048)
(12) Elorin: (no kidding)
(3) Kaylin: (see, 2 below average :P)
(12) Elorin: (80% chance of success, and it fails)
(2) Kibin: (Huh. A tiiiiiny bit below average.)
(2) Kibin: (An easier way is this...)
(2) Kibin: [100d20/1050] -> 1.09238095238
(1) GM: And it's the critter's turn - Katsuro, take another negative level.
(2) Kibin: (That is 109% of average, for example...)
(1) GM: And they both blast Elorin with Cold, then full-attack.
(1) GM: Reflex saves?
(12) Elorin: Reflex save: [1d20+22] -> [20,22] = (42)
(12) Elorin: Reflex save: [1d20+22] -> [15,22] = (37)
(1) GM: Both successes. With your ring of evasion, no damage.

(2) Kibin: (Hmmm. Either openRPG is incorrect, or that the dice are actually slightly above average.)
(12) Elorin: (one bite hit)
(1) GM: With AC 41, that's one hit, for 4d6+21]
(1) GM: With AC 41, that's one hit, for [4d6+21] -> [6,2,4,3,21] = (36)
(1) GM: And Jason attempts to go through the beast to posess Katsuro.....
(1) GM: Will save?
(2) Kibin: [100d20/1050] -> 0.93619047619
(2) Kibin: (Huh, 93.6% of average.)
(8) Katsuro: (Guess not.)
(1) GM: After 9 and 8 % above? Balances.
(2) Kibin: [Bad dice format] - [1000d20/10500]
(2) Kibin: (Aw.)

(2) Kibin: (YAY PINCUSIONS!)
(1) GM: AC 35; what material?
(12) Elorin: (material order: normal, cold iron, silver, adamantine if noticing DR, stay with what works when discovered)
(1) GM: Silver works.
(12) Elorin: (so first two deduct DR, last three get -1 damage for silver)
(1) GM: So [35+29+30+24+33-30-3] -> 118 (assuming you stay with Silver when it works... although alchemical silver weapons do one less point of damage than normal...)
(1) GM: And which one are you hitting? The Katsuro eater or the not Katsuro eater?
(12) Elorin: (-1 is a whole lot better than -15)
(12) Elorin: (one that swallowed Katsuro)
(1) GM: Kaylin? You are currently about 70 feet away. As the hallway twists a bit, you no longer have line of effect.

(3) Kaylin: (no, staying at 70')
(12) Elorin: (uh, need line of effect)
(2) Kibin: (Oh. Sonic.)
(2) Kibin: (Nevermind.)
(12) Elorin: (and that requires moving back)

(3) Kaylin: (pincushion)
(1) GM: It shudders as your sound rips into it's hide.
(1) GM: Kibin?
(1) GM: Sitting this one out?
(3) Kaylin: (brb)
(2) Kibin: (Yeah, since I probably can't break the DR.)
(1) GM: Critter's turn. Katsuro, take another negative level (last one for a while....)
(8) Katsuro: (Done.)
(1) GM: The one eating Katsuro is badly injured, and retreats underground to enjoy a meal in peae.
(1) GM: The other tries his last quick blast of cold, targets Elorin with a spell-like ability, and walks close enough that Elorin can't just five-foot out of range....
(1) GM: Elorin - Reflex and Fort saves?

(1) GM: Except for poor Elorin, the point man....

(1) GM: So it's the body that gets healed.
(2) Kibin: (What about a mass heal? Would it be possible to hit the ghost occupying the same space?)
(1) GM: Jason: The ghost is merged. You'd have to kill the host first.
(2) Kibin: (Um. Was that supposed to be OOC?)
(1) GM: Oh, wait... grr... typo. Yep.
(1) GM: Stupid keyboard.
(3) Kaylin: "Well, shall we press on?"
(2) Kibin: Considering that you and Elorin probably need to rest by now? You've used a lot of spells...

(8) Katsuro: "Is that why I feel dizzy?"
(12) Elorin: I've still got a fair amount left, and my supply of arrows is nowhere near gone

(3) Kaylin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [12,4] = (16)
** (2) Kibin searches for traps leading up to and including the door... **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [20,23] = (43)
(2) Kibin (whispering): Trying to continue to try and listen in through the door.
whispering to Kibin, The door isn't trapped.
** (2) Kibin opens the door, then. **
(1) GM: The door opens into a very short hallway, with another door on the far side.
(3) Kaylin: (yay, doors!)
** (2) Kibin sighs, and walks around the hallway, searching for more traps... **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [16,23] = (39)
(1) GM: Again, the place is rough granite. You see lots of bones in this area, stained with blood. It looks like recently slaughtered riding dogs.
(1) GM: Where all are you searching?
** (3) Kaylin blechs **
(1) GM: The meat and guts aren't present, though.
** (2) Kibin searches in straight lines to both doors. **
(2) Kibin: Search Skill Check: [1d20+23] -> [2,23] = (25)
(1) GM: And doesn't find any traps on the doors.
** (2) Kibin opens a door, then.... the north one. **
(1) GM: And you find where all the flesh went. The place is full of smoke; a dwarf is tending to the fire, with an amulet. Seems they're setting up to preserve the meat.
(1) GM: The dwarf is dressed in leathers, and glances up at you only briefly before looking back into the fire.
(2) Kibin: (To kill the dwarf or not...)
(3) Kaylin: (how about not? :)
(8) Katsuro: (Not. He's not attacking.)
(8) Katsuro: (That would be Neutral, at most.)
(1) GM: Dwarf: You looking for a bite to eat? Won't be ready for a while.
(2) Kibin: No... we're looking for a necromancer, most likely your leader...
(3) Kaylin: "We're new around here."
(1) GM: Dwarf: Ah. Well, I don't keep tabs on his movements. Although he's probably in his office. Mentioned something about some entertainment coming this way.
** (2) Kibin sighs. "So much for talking to him being useful..." **
(3) Kaylin: "I don't suppose you could direct us to his office? He said he'd be there."
(1) GM: Dwarf: Oh, just west of here. Other side of that wall.
(3) Kaylin: "Thank you."
(2) Kibin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+16] -> [5,16] = (21)
(2) Kibin: (Curious if he's bluffing or not...)
(12) Elorin: Sense Motive Skill Check: [1d20+11] -> [17,11] = (28)
whispering to Kibin, Elorin, Neither of you detect a lie.
(2) Kibin: (There a door to the west?)
(1) GM: No.f
(1) GM: Just a rough hewn wall. Which is what he pointed to.
(1) GM: That wall.
** (2) Kibin says to Kaylin, "Maybe you could get that Shapechanging thingie up and blast through that wall to save us the trouble of finding another way to there?" **
(3) Kaylin: "Why don't we first check to see if we can get around through the room we just came from?"
(2) Kibin: And risk going through more traps?
(3) Kaylin: "Well, all right, who wants to blast through the wall aside from Kibin?"
(1) GM: Jason: I can't find a flaw in his reasoning.
(1) GM: Dwarf: Wait... you're going to get all this smoke in his office? Excuse me....
(1) GM: The dwarf gets up and goes to walk out of the room.
(1) GM: Anyone stopping him?
** (2) Kibin goes over to whack the dwarf unconscious. **
(1) GM: Attack and damage rolls?
(2) Kibin: [1d20+20] -> [18,20] = (38)
(2) Kibin: [1d8+1] -> [5,1] = (6)
(1) GM: That would be a hit. Damage? He's not expecting it, so sneak-attack applies. Oh, and are you going for nonlethal?
(2) Kibin: (And sneak attack damage too if it applies...)
(2) Kibin: [9d6] -> [2,6,3,5,6,4,3,5,5] = (39)
(2) Kibin: (And yeah, non-lethal.)
(1) GM: The dwarf slumps unconscious on the ground, with a doozy of a nerve-pinch.
(1) GM: Fortunately, he doesn't have far to fall.
** (3) Kaylin sighs as Kibin starts smacking the dwarf, but concentrates and activates Shapechange once again. **
(3) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Shapechange (sp) ( level 9, "Spell-Like Ability: Shapechange 2/day (Free action polymorph for 10 min/level" )
(1) GM: Listen check?
(3) Kaylin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [6,4] = (10)
(1) GM: Anyone else paying attention to sounds?
(2) Kibin: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+21] -> [8,21] = (29)
(1) GM: Okay. Nobody hears anything important.
(8) Katsuro: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+2] -> [11,2] = (13)
** (3) Kaylin turns herself into a Beholder and floats over to the indicated wall **
** (2) Kibin goes over to the wall to watch the pretty disintergration. **
** (3) Kaylin zaps the wall with a disintegrate eye ray. **
(1) GM: Smoke pours into the room... and you see it whipping around a figure you recognize... Chorin. He smiles.
(8) Katsuro: (I shoot him in the face the moment he starts a spell.)
(1) GM: Chorin: Ah, you've arrived! It's been fun watching you. I must say, I was worried there for a time. I didn't really want you to be worm food....
(3) Kaylin: (how far away is he?)
(1) GM: See the red dot? That's him.
(1) GM: The brown square is his desk.
(3) Kaylin: (big desk.)
(1) GM: The place is smoky, so you can't make out details too well; he has concealment.
(1) GM: (He's rich)
** (3) Kaylin focuses her antimagic eye cone on Chorin. **
(3) Kaylin: "Your concern is touching."
(1) GM: When you do, he fades from sight.
(1) GM: Oh, and miniatures?
(1) GM: Big red dot is the fire.
(1) GM: Where's everyone standing?
(2) Kibin: (Can you resize that tio fit please? :P)
(8) Katsuro: (No miniture.)
(1) GM: Okay, so it's a dwarf, not a human, but it was handy.
(2) Kibin: (Me close to watch the pretty disintergration. :P)
(12) Elorin: (kinda hard to tell what these minis are supposed to be anyway, with how shrunk they are)
(8) Katsuro: (Well, guess it works, thanks.)
(1) GM: Yeah, let's re-scale the map....
(2) Kibin: (On a side note, did you know that d20srd.org has pictures too?)
(12) Elorin: (can we break for supper now? I'm getting hungry)
(8) Katsuro: (My supper is coming up in a few minutes, too.)
(3) Kaylin: (Quick break before the battle? Sounds OK to me.)
(3) Kaylin: (well, quickish.)
(1) GM: Let's see.... Kibin close to watch the pretty disintigrate, Jason nearby, Kaylin in line for the Antimagic Cone, Elorin where?
(1) GM: But yeah, sure. Supper sounds reasonable.
(1) GM:
(15) Kaylin (enter): 17:10
(3) Kaylin (exit): 17:11
(8) Katsuro (exit): 17:11
(12) Elorin (exit): 17:11
(2) Kibin: (Whoa.)
(15) Kaylin: (Looks like many a disconnect)
(2) Kibin: (I stayed for whatever reason. :P)
(16) Katsuro (enter): 17:16
(16) Katsuro: (I'm back from supper.)
(2) Kibin (exit): 17:19
(17) Elorin (enter): 17:19
(18) Kibin (enter): 17:19
(18) Kibin: (Oookay. Maybe I didn't escape it.)
(17) Elorin: (anyone want to comment on the following comparison of weapon abilities?)
(17) Elorin: (Speed: 1 extra attack at highest attack bonus. Does not stack with similar effects, such as Haste)
(17) Elorin: (Splitting: Projectile weapons only. Doubles all your attacks. Stacks with everything. Requires user to have Precise Shot feat)
(17) Elorin: (same cost)
(17) Elorin: (Splitting is from Champions of Ruin)
(18) Kibin: (Arrows tend to be weaker than melee weapons...)
(15) Kaylin: (Seems that splitting would work better given you have Boots of Haste, don't you?)
(17) Elorin: +1 Holy Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (Rapid Shot) (Point Blank) (attack 1+2) Attack Roll: [1d20+34] -> [12,34] = (46)===> DMG: [1d8+2d6+17+0] -> [1,2,2,17,0] = (22)
(18) Kibin: (MOST arrows.)
(18) Kibin: (Now if you had a melee weapon, you could probably get a lot of damage by getting high strength.)
(18) Kibin: That, and vorpal weapons. Heh.
(18) Kibin: ()
(17) Elorin: (yes, arrows tend to be weaker than melee, but is it really reasonable for me to have an attack progression of +34/34/34/34/34/34/29/29/24/24?)
(17) Elorin: (bump those up by 1 for Haste)
(18) Kibin: (Not any more reasonable than 44 range attacks. :P)
(18) Kibin: (44 ranged TOUCH attacks. :D)
(17) Elorin: (how do you get that?)
(18) Kibin: (15 monk/5 master thrower.)
(18) Kibin: (Three abilities from master thrower to make thrown weapons a touch attack(but lose strength bonus), as well as palm shot for two attacks with small weapons, say shuriken, and another ability to allow you to hit two people with the same attack.)
(18) Kibin: (All two weapon fighting feats and rapid shot, which also stacks with those two abilities for 16 more attacks.)
(18) Kibin: (Haste, another four attacks.)
(18) Kibin: (Two extra attack at highest BAB while flurrying, for 8 from that.)
(18) Kibin: (Four attacks due to BAB, because master thrower has full BAB progression. This translates into 16 more attacks as well.)
(16) Katsuro: (Man, D&D is full of cheese.)
(18) Kibin: (For a grand total of 44 attacks, requiring 22 shuriken a round. :D)
(17) Elorin: (let's see, that's 4 base + 3 TWF + 2 Flurry + 1 Rapid Shot + 1 Haste, doubled twice)
(15) Kaylin: (What Katsuro said)
(17) Elorin: (yep, that's 44 touch attacks. Good luck doing much damage with no strength bonus and using expendable weapons)
(16) Katsuro: (I wonder if the GM would let me try that...)
(17) Elorin: (Every shuriken you throw is one you have to replace)
(18) Kibin: (Put enchantments on your shiruken.)
(16) Katsuro: (One single fire enchantment.)
(15) Kaylin: (Shuriken is d2, isn't it?)
(18) Kibin: (44d6 damage is still pretty nice, and +2 weapons are only 8000. 8000 for about 14 seconds of shuriken gatling guns.)
(18) Kibin: (But keep in mind that even with a single casting of magic weapon on ordinary shuriken, that's still +5. Per shuriken.)
(18) Kibin: (And 5 times 44 is 220.)
(15) Kaylin: (DR 10 means that you're only going to be taking damage from 1/6 of those 44d6)
(18) Kibin: (True, DR kills it.)
(17) Elorin: (Actually, DR 10 would completely negate this)
(15) Kaylin: (Anything above DR 10 and you're not taking any damage from +5 shuriken.)
(18) Kibin: (But for those particually tough opponents, get fully enchanted +5 shuriken.)
(16) Katsuro: (Yeah, but anything without DR is killed dead.)
(15) Kaylin: (At 20th level, not too much doesn't have DR of some form)
(15) Kaylin: (Aside from wizards :/)
(17) Elorin: (except most PCs)
(15) Kaylin: (hmm, PC killer build...)
(18) Kibin: (Well, +4 would be more effective, actually.)
(18) Kibin: (+1 base enchantment, along with fire ice and shcoking.)
(17) Elorin: (for some reason, WotC seems to have a major aversion to giving PCs significant DR on a permanent basis)
(15) Kaylin: (it'd help PCs a lot more than DR on monsters does)
(18) Kibin: (Anyway... 32,000 GP of arrows will last you two turns.)
(18) Kibin: (Shuriken*)
(15) Kaylin: (That's an expensive build)
(17) Elorin: (that's 32000 gp for every 50 shots, Kibin)
(17) Elorin: (can you really afford that much to use this trick all the time?0
(18) Kibin: (Yeah, but each shuriken thrown is hitting twice, on two different enemies.)
(15) Kaylin: (you'd have to use something else for your common attacks...)
(17) Elorin: (still, 5 rounds of combat and you're down 32k gold)
(16) Katsuro: (Vengeance NPC. 'No, I won't send the Tarresque after you. Just one NPC. You can handle one NPC, right?')
(15) Kaylin: (2 rounds of combat and everyone is dead...)
(18) Kibin: (Average of 17 damage a shuriken.)
(18) Kibin: (748 damage in a single round. :D)
(15) Kaylin: (Don't those abilities require command word activation?)
(18) Kibin: (Yeah, so you have to take three standard actions to activate them. *shrug*)
(17) Elorin: (works great for a one-shot, but I'm pretty sure it would be way too much of a drain on your resources over the course of a campaign unless the DM deliberately compensates for it by giving you extra treasure to replace what you spend)
(15) Kaylin: (so 3 rounds of doing nothing...)
(18) Kibin: (Reduce to +2 then. Still does 594 damage a round.)
(18) Kibin: (Then get boots of temporal accelleration.)
(18) Kibin: (Once a day, you can use the boots to gain two actions like in a timestop, enough to activate two abilities.)
(18) Kibin: (+3 I mean. x.x)
(15) Kaylin: (then you just have to find a DM willing to cope with the idea of someone throwing 7 shuriken a second...)
(18) Kibin: (Four, actually.)
(15) Kaylin: [44/6] -> 7
(18) Kibin: (Remember, you're only throwing 22 shuriken a round?)
(18) Kibin: (But each shuriken hits two enemies?)
(17) Elorin: (there's no reason why you can't have abilities like flaming active all the time except possibly stealth)
(15) Kaylin: (ah, right, 2 enemies...)
(15) Kaylin: (each taking 22d6...)
(18) Kibin: (Anyway, with regular shuriken, it's simply 5 GP for a single round of machinegunny action.)
(15) Kaylin: (plus whatever... hrm.)
(18) Kibin: (And you can simply get the caster to charge it up with +5 goodness.)
(17) Elorin: (but if you put any magic on them, it's a major drain no matter what)
(17) Elorin: (and by RAW, the shuriken description does not include Greater Magic Weapon in the things that treat it like ammunition)
(17) Elorin: (so you need another casting for each and every shuriken)
(18) Kibin: (True. Which is why you keep the magicky shuriken for taking down, say, the CR 26 great wyrm dragon in a single round. :D)
(18) Kibin: (Hmmm. Technically two rounds...)
(18) Kibin: (But... you know how much I can use Splitting to increase that damage? :D)
(18) Kibin: (88 attacks a round... Around 1,500 damage in a single round...)
(17) Elorin: (yeah, but whatever way you look at it, the master thrower trick uses up lots of resources permanently)
(17) Elorin: (Splitting is a continuous non-expended effect)
(17) Elorin: (I'm pretty sure splitting doesn't work on thrown weapons, only projectiles)
(17) Elorin: (I'll check)
(18) Kibin: (How does it use up resources if you're using non-magical shuriken?)
(18) Kibin: (You could probally get about 50,000 shuriken and put them in a portable hole...)
(15) Kaylin: (non-magical would then get dominated by DR)
(18) Kibin: (True...)
(15) Kaylin: [.5 * 24d6] -> 46.5
(17) Elorin: (bow, crossbow, arrow, or bolt only)
(18) Kibin: (Oh well.)
(17) Elorin: (non-magical gets you 1d2 damage per shuriken, which isn't very much even multiplied by 44)
(18) Kibin: (You could fit in a secondary source of damage, however.)
(18) Kibin: (You really only need to get to 11th level for Greater Flurry.)
(18) Kibin: (Get a secondary source of damage someplace else...four levels of rogue, and you get 2d6 sneak attack. A ring of blink, then...)
(17) Elorin: (Master Thrower is from what, Completer Warrior?)
(18) Kibin: (If you wanted to be cheap, rogue/ninja/assassin for 3d6 sneak attack damage.)
(18) Kibin: (Believe so.)
(18) Kibin: (So Monk 12/Rogue 1/Ninja 1/Assassin 1/Master Thrower 5...)
(18) Kibin: (With a ring of blink, and lets go with +5 shuriken to get 4d6 of damage... A ring of blink as well... 1d2+5+7d6 damage per shuriken. o.o)
(15) Kaylin: (limits your alignment to LE...)
(18) Kibin: (Heh, so? :D)
(18) Kibin: (Only 35.2 of those will get through on average because of blink...)
(18) Kibin: (Up to 31 damage per shuriken average. Cool.)
(18) Kibin: (1091.2 average damage split evenly among two enemies! WHOOOO!)
(15) Kaylin: (I think someone needs a flying cow dropped on his head...)
(18) Kibin: (Perhaps a fighter variant would be better... sacrifice two attacks from flurry... the variant that allows sneak attack instead...)
(18) Kibin: (Of feats that is...)
(17) Elorin: (and you never face an opponent who can't see invisible again...)
(18) Kibin: (You still incidentally get concealment then, and I can always put a single level of shadowdancer in for hide in plain sight.)
(18) Kibin: (Well... from attacks anyway. But hide in plain sight is a good idea anyway.)
(18) Kibin: (Four attacks, plus three from two weapon fighting, plus two from rapid shot and haste...)
(18) Kibin: (18 shuriken(or darts, now!) for 36 attacks...)
(17) Elorin: (anyway, there are ways to make this strategy completely worthless, and I imagine every major boss you ever went up against would have at least one of them if you actually built and played such a character)
(16) Katsuro: (See, this is why Hero System is better. It's harder to cheat.)
(18) Kibin: (Where's the sneak attack fighter again?)
(18) Kibin: (Katsuro, tell that to the area effect sticky use on others transform that turns everyone in the world into elvis impersonators...)
(18) Kibin: (Bleh, we'll just go with rogue instead.)
(16) Katsuro: (Huh?)
(18) Kibin: (Rogue 11/Assassin 1/Ninja 1/Shadowdancer 1/Master Thrower 5...)
(18) Kibin: (Without using hide in plain sight(after EACH AND EVERY SHURIKEN FIRED, for 18 hide checks in total...) we use ring of blink...)
(16) Katsuro: (What does that have to do with 'the area effect sticky use on others transform that turns everyone in the world into elvis impersonators'?)
(18) Kibin: (He was complaining about how 'non-broken' hero system is or whatever.)
(18) Kibin: (Anyway... 8d6 sneak attack, applied on all attacks...)
(18) Kibin: (Plus 4d6 from abilities...)
(18) Kibin: (49.5 average damage an attack... wow...)
(16) Katsuro: (Yes. The only way that would work is with Megascale, which is for Superhero campaigns, not Standard Fantasy.)
(18) Kibin: (1425.6 average damage a round... WHOOOO!)
(18) Kibin: (And with only using 18 darts a round, instead of 22 shuriken a round!)
(15) Kaylin: (Hmm, against an Incorporeal foe...)
(16) Katsuro: (And you couldn't do that with Hero System.)
(15) Kaylin: (immune to sneak attacks, and a 50% miss chance...)
(18) Kibin: (Then half damage. x.x)
(18) Kibin: (Against an incorporeal foe that is.)
(15) Kaylin: (Don't forget to account for the lack of the +8d6 or whatever from sneak attack)
(15) Kaylin: (I'd agree with Elorin, suddenly a lot of bosses would show up who favored incoporeal forms or other things immune to sneak attacks...)
(18) Kibin: (1782 against people with horrible spot modifiers, after you use a bunch of hide-increasing items...)
(17) Elorin: (requires being within 30 feet)
(18) Kibin: (Use flame/bane(undead)/holy shuriken then...)
(15) Kaylin: (What kind of BAB would that be sporting?)
(18) Kibin: (Who cares with touch attacks?)
(17) Elorin: (need at least 16 to get full iterative attacks)
(18) Kibin: (Oh, right, forgot to see if the multiclassing affected the final number of attacks...)
(17) Elorin: (and I think that build has 14)
(15) Kaylin: (I don't think you'd get 16... rogue 11 is 8, assassin and shadowdancers both are 0 at 1st level...)
(18) Kibin: (...huh. You would probably want to go all the way to level 15 with rogue anyway.)
(18) Kibin: (Since the amount of sneak attack stays the same...)
(15) Kaylin: (What's the BAB progression on Master Thrower?)
(18) Kibin: (Full.)
(18) Kibin: (Remove 4 of those attacks then, ah well. 32, needing 16 shuriken.)
(18) Kibin: (Reduce final damage by about... 200.)
(16) Katsuro: (Plus, of course, transform has a big ol' STOP warning on it.)
(18) Kibin: (But mechanically it is possible...)
(18) Kibin: (Mechanically, THIS is possible too.)
(16) Katsuro: (Yes...But D&D specifically allows it. Hero System warns against it.)
(18) Kibin: (D&D rule 0. x.x)
(16) Katsuro: (Megascale also has a big ol' STOP warning.)
(16) Katsuro: (Yeah, but Hero System tells you exactly which ones to watch out for and which ones shouldn't be used in which power level.)
(18) Kibin: (Look... just because a cliff doesn't have a warning sign, doesn't mean you'll automatically walk over it.)
(16) Katsuro: (But the biggest thing is Hero Systems' cost system.)
(17) Elorin: (on another powergaming subject, any suggestions on optimizing this guy?)
(18) Kibin: (And I really don't want to switch to the HERO system, because I hate character generation there. x.x)
(18) Kibin: (Not so many classes? :P)
(17) Elorin: (he's for an arena combat tournament in The Town forum on giantitp)
(16) Katsuro: (Then you havn't tried the Hero Designer. Takes care of all the math, tells you what stuff is...Making stuff with it is fun.)
(16) Katsuro: (81 Active points on the transform - One too many for even a standard campaign. That's with a 5d6 Transform. 4d6 would come under, but wouldn't get as many people.)
(16) Katsuro: (Of course, if we add some limitations...)
(18) Kibin: (See? HERO system is as 'broken' as D&D.)
(16) Katsuro: (We add a whole year to the activation time and it only costs 11 Real Points.)
(18) Kibin: (See? :P)
(16) Katsuro: (A whole year to stop the world being overrun by Elvii...Whatever shall we do? :P :D )
(18) Kibin: (While he just walks around town like normal, doing no evil stuff.)
(17) Elorin: (no comments on my mega-blaster mage?)
(15) Kaylin: (...)
(15) Kaylin: (Elorin, where are the insane saves from? :)
(16) Katsuro: (Ok, I admit it, you got me there. -1.1/4 to cost for one extra round.)
(15) Kaylin: (those +13 misc mods are intriguing...)
(17) Elorin: (Hexblade gives +charisma to saves vs spells and spell-like abilities)
(15) Kaylin: (o.O That's insane)
(16) Katsuro: (Or -3/4 for one extra phase. Makes it available for a Standard Heroic game.)
(17) Elorin: (Paladin level 2 does the same, but to all saves)
(16) Katsuro: (Well, it'd be buyable. But the Active Points would still be 81, so only in a High-Powered Superhero game.)
(16) Katsuro: (Dr. Fate could probably do that, so it fits.)
(15) Kaylin: (Well, I sure can't think of any further optimisation on that guy :P)
(16) Katsuro: (My D&D knowledge skill isn't good enough.)
(16) Katsuro: (But seriously, try the Hero Designer v3 the next time you got spare money. It makes Hero simple.)
(18) Kibin: (Look, I'm not paying for any RPG. I don't have the money to spare.)
(18) Kibin: (D&D even I didn't pay any money for. :P)
(17) Elorin: (let's see, he can cast a Maximized Empowered Twinned Fire Substituted Fire Admixed Split Ray Searing Polar Ray with an 8th level spell slot :D)
(17) Elorin: (for 1550 average fire damage if all four rays hit IIRC)
(18) Kibin: (...hmmm, if I get multiple arms, I could get multiattack...)
(17) Elorin: (Quicken it for a 9th level slot)
(18) Kibin: (Elorin, my build does more damage, with just greater invisibility. :P)
(15) Kaylin: (And goes down to a See Invisible, a 2nd level spell...)
(17) Elorin: (not to mention True Seeing and Touchsight, both of which this character has)
(16) Katsuro: (If Fire is Substituted, what's the use of Fire Admixed?)
(17) Elorin: (doubles the damage dice)
(18) Kibin: (Just loses 288d6 or so, nothing bad...)
(16) Katsuro: (Yeah, but it's all the same damage type. Can't you do the same with two damage types?)
(16) Katsuro: (Wonder where Jack is...)
(17) Elorin: (Energy Admix requires Substitution as a prereq, and the non-fire damage wouldn't get the benefit of Searing Spell)
(17) Elorin: (Searing Spell makes it ignore fire resistance and still deal half damage to fire immune)
(16) Katsuro: (Ok.)
(17) Elorin: (I could still just not use Substitution while still applying Admix, but as far as I can tell that would just make it more vulnerable to resistance/immunity)
** (17) Elorin thinks Jack still hasn't noticed we got disconnected **
(18) Kibin: (I don't think he's noticed that we're still here...)
(18) Kibin: (Okay, yes he has.)
(1) GM:
(1) GM: That was yummy. Okay, let's see....
(1) GM: So Kaylin just found out that he's got more than one of the "not here" things.
(1) GM: Roll for initiative, everyone.
(1) GM: [1d20+5] -> [2,5] = (7)
(17) Elorin: Dex check: [1d20+6] -> [5,6] = (11)
(1) GM: Dex check: [1d20+5] -> [4,5] = (9)
(18) Kibin: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [8,3] = (11)
(16) Katsuro: (Looked in the rules again and it's actually a Major Transform and would have to cost 250 Active Points just to get over half the population of the world.)
(16) Katsuro: Dex check: [1d20+5] -> [5,5] = (10)
(18) Kibin: (You know, the king being the necromancer idea is looking more and more probable.)
(18) Kibin: (Heh. Which is why you use costume change instead. :D)
(1) GM: Kaylin? Initiative? Also, Elorin and Kibin - roll off.
(17) Elorin: Dex check: [1d20+6] -> [2,6] = (8)
(18) Kibin: (And yes, that character would qualify for the falling cow squad.)
(18) Kibin: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [12,3] = (15)
(18) Kibin: (Unless, of course, he shreds the cow into pieces before it ever hits him. :D)
(1) GM: Aaand Kaylin?
(16) Katsuro: (Yeah, cosmetic change would work, but it wouldn't really be that hard to undo.)
(1) GM: Hmmm... Well, I'll give him a surprise round for stepping out of the wrong wall.
(18) Kibin: (What about custome change into a strait-jacket? :P)
(16) Katsuro: (Major change would leave them thinking they always were Elvii.)
(16) Katsuro: (Scissors.)
(1) GM: And Chorin walks through a the rough-hewn wall, which breaks like paper, into the smoke filled room, and fires off a Greater Dispel Magic - targetted at Kaylin.
(1) GM: Shapechage: [1d20+20] -> [1,20] = (21)
(1) GM: Ah well.
(1) GM: Heroe's Feast: [1d20+20] -> [16,20] = (36)
(1) GM: One down, at least.
(16) Katsuro: (He fired off a spell...Do I get an attack of opportunity.)
(1) GM: What else does Kaylin have active.....
(16) Katsuro: (*?)
(17) Elorin: (do you threaten him with a melee weapon?)
(18) Kibin: (Attack of opportunity with a RANGED WEAPON over 25 feet at least? :P)
(1) GM: Bows doen't threaten, normally.... and you're on the other side of the room, so no.
(16) Katsuro: (Gotta BRB...Katsuro can just shoot at him.)
(16) Katsuro: (Er, I had held an action to shoot him when he started a spell. Might not work since it was at the illusion.)
(1) GM: Initiative hadn't been rolled - no readied actions outside of combat, sorry.
(1) GM: That, and you were looking the wrong way.
(1) GM: Kibin, Elorin, Jason, Katsuro, Chorin (Kaylin gets inserted when she rolls init)
(1) GM: Kibin?
(1) GM: Oh, and he also fired off a Quickened spell - Wind Wall.
(17) Elorin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+22] -> [5,22] = (27)
(17) Elorin: (I think that's high enough to know not to try arrows at the moment)
(1) GM: Yeah.
** (18) Kibin runs through the wind wall at Chorin, charging, aiming to trip him when he gets over there. **
(16) Katsuro: (BAck.)
(15) Kaylin: Dex check: [1d20+2] -> [13,2] = (15)
(1) GM: It's in the "automatic" range.
(15) Kaylin: (sorry, stepped out of the room for a moment)
(1) GM: What's your land move?
(18) Kibin: (40 feet a round.)
(17) Elorin: (brb)
(18) Kibin: (Wait.)
(18) Kibin: (I revise that if each square is 5 feet...)
(1) GM: Each square is five feet, yes.
** (18) Kibin runs over there, readying an action to attack Chorin if he is sneakattackable... **
(1) GM: So if he gets flanked or otherwise is denied his dex bonus?
(18) Kibin: (Yup.)
(1) GM: Oh, 15 - best initiative this combat! Kaylin next.
(18) Kibin: (Like, say, by certain ghosts with a quarterstaff that I rely on for sneak attacks a lot. :P)
(1) GM: She just delayed until after Kibin.
(17) Elorin: (back)
(1) GM: Kaylin? Your turn.
** (15) Kaylin floats over into line of sight of Chorin and directs an antimagic cone at him. **
(15) Kaylin: (That wouldn't happen to knock out the Wind Wall, would it?)
(18) Kibin: (Beep. No shapechange for you. Got dispelled..)
(1) GM: It would, actually, inside the cone, at least. Of course, none of those magical enhancements function in their either... just Elorin's strength and dex.
(17) Elorin: (no, that was the Heroes' Feast)
(1) GM: Actually, the shapechange survived. Pity. The Heroe's Feast went away.
(18) Kibin: (Oh.)
(18) Kibin: (Right.)
(1) GM: So, Kaylin - where do you put the antimagic cone?
(18) Kibin: (Forgot that low is good and high is bad, because dispel magic requires a caster level check from the CASTER of dispel magic...)
(18) Kibin: (Pssst. Don't shine it on the spot opposite me, so I can still flank. :P)
(15) Kaylin: (So that as much as possible is around Chorin... can I ready an action to keep the eye cone centered on him?
(1) GM: You could ready an action to move.
(17) Elorin: (kinda hard to do that without putting you in the cone, making all your items nonfunctional)
(17) Elorin: (unless she moves up right next to him)
(15) Kaylin: (Right, but Kibin with non-functional magic items is better than Chorin without magic, I'll bet)
(1) GM: So, where are you putting the cone?
(18) Kibin: (I was talking about the fact that Jason couldn't help me flank. :P)
(15) Kaylin: (let's get that directed so that he's caught in the edge and Kibin isn't affected by it)
(1) GM: So where are you putting your 90 degree arc cone?
(15) Kaylin: (if at all possible. I'm not sure of the sprea d rate of a cone)
(18) Kibin: (How about just the square OPPOSITE him isn't affected, so Jason can still flank? :P)
(15) Kaylin: (All right, no cone, just hit him with eye rays... 90 degrees, gotta remember that... let's try Disintegrate, Finger of Death, and Flesh to Stone...)
(1) GM: So three Fort saves?
(1) GM: [3d20] -> [14,4,1] = (19)
(15) Kaylin: (yeah, DC 17)
(18) Kibin: (...sometimes I wish I had Kaylin's intelligence OOCly. :P)
(1) GM: And he's a statue.
(17) Elorin: (that was quick)
(18) Kibin: That was anticlimatic.
(15) Kaylin: (90 degrees... that's a fast-expanding cone...)
(17) Elorin: (standard for D&D, actually)
(1) GM: Nat-1's do that. Was also the only way he was going to fail a save vs. one of those....
(16) Katsuro: (90 degrees total. 45 each side.)
(15) Kaylin: (I was hoping he'd make lots of save-or-die saves...)
(17) Elorin: That was easy.
(18) Kibin: Perhaps the king would like him in his castle?
** (15) Kaylin goes back into elven form **
(15) Kaylin: "Sure, now we have actual proof of success. And the king has a trophy of what happens to those who oppose him, and might be grateful."
(1) GM: Guess I should have started with Implosion.... oh well.
(15) Kaylin: (That's a nasty spell :( )
(18) Kibin: (It's a player friendly spell, though, which is why I like it.)
(17) Elorin: Kibin, you've got room for a statue in your portable hole, right?
(18) Kibin: Probably.
(16) Katsuro: (There's a business line! Statues of famous villians for your living room!)
(1) GM: And free action triple save or dies aren't?
(15) Kaylin: (Heh, good point...)
** (18) Kibin opens up the portable hole, and waits for someone a little stronger to carefully place the statue in the portable hole so it doesn't break. "Hmmm... did the king mention a reward..." **
** (15) Kaylin turns herself into a planetar and tries picking up the statue **
(1) GM: It puts you into a medium load.
(1) GM: But yes, as a Planetar, you can pick it up.
** (15) Kaylin lugs the statue over to the portable hole and puts it carefully ni. **
(15) Kaylin: *in
** (18) Kibin closes the portable hole afterward, then. "To the king? Preferably a quick method so we don't have to walk all the way back..." **
(15) Kaylin: "Teleport tends to be pretty quick... I doubt we could appear inside the castle without causing alarm, though."
(17) Elorin: If teleport even works in there
** (18) Kibin shrugs. "Teleport outside the castle, then. At least waiting inside the castle has something to look at while waiting." **
(15) Kaylin: "All right..."
** (15) Kaylin marshals the party and casts... **
(15) Kaylin: Kaylin casts Greater Teleport ( level 7, "Teleports without error." )
(1) GM: How close to the castle do you attempt to teleport?
(15) Kaylin: (Outside of the castle, in the place with the waiting queues...)
(1) GM: In the courtyard, then?
(15) Kaylin: (say 100'?)
(15) Kaylin: (Sure)
(17) Elorin: (some distance back from that line we waited in?)
(1) GM: Your teleport does not go as expected. You find yourselves momentarily looking at a series of strange and bizzare symbols on stone walls all around you, before you start to fall due to the lack of a floor.
(15) Kaylin: (joy...)
(1) GM: Natural fliers - Reflex saves.
(15) Kaylin: Spellcraft Skill Check: [1d20+38] -> [14,38] = (52)
(15) Kaylin: (to recognise what went weird)
(17) Elorin: (feather fall?)
(17) Elorin: Reflex save: [1d20+22] -> [12,22] = (34)
(18) Kibin: Reflex save: [1d20+24] -> [9,24] = (33)
(15) Kaylin: Reflex save: [1d20+13] -> [6,13] = (19)
(17) Elorin: (you don't have wings, Kaylin, no save for you)
(15) Kaylin: (I never changed back from Planetar, and they have wings...)
(17) Elorin: (unless you had some other means of flight active)
(16) Katsuro: (No wings for Katsuro, either.)
(1) GM: Elorin and Kibin manage to keep themselves from falling. Kaylin, however, falls into the antimagic field from the same type of stone that made up the guest rooms....
(17) Elorin: (oh, right)
(15) Kaylin: (ah...)
(1) GM: Over a full 200 foot shaft.
(1) GM: [20d6] -> [5,2,2,3,6,5,4,3,6,3,4,4,1,6,1,1,5,5,5,6] = (77)
(15) Kaylin: (All of that antimagic?)
(1) GM: Yep.
(15) Kaylin: (*wince*)
(1) GM: What's your HP without the magically enhanced portion of your constitution bonus?
(17) Elorin: (did you have feather fall prepared?)
(15) Kaylin: (pretty low.)
(15) Kaylin: (*splat*)
(15) Kaylin: (yeah, 53...)
(1) GM: Katsuro - the same fate.
(15) Kaylin: (:()
(1) GM: [20d6] -> [3,4,3,3,2,1,1,5,6,6,2,3,2,5,1,1,6,2,3,3] = (62) to Katsuro.
(15) Kaylin: (psst, kibin, now *that* was anticlimatic... survive the evil ncromancer, die by falling down a shaft....)
(18) Kibin: (Point taken.)
(1) GM: Katsuro - What's your HP without magical type enhancement bonuses?
(17) Elorin: (at least you have a friendly divine caster to True Res you)
(16) Katsuro: (!25. 63 left.)
(15) Kaylin: ('scuse me a sec, I need to go laugh my head off at the irony :)
(17) Elorin: (and I can even do it today, I still have a single 9th level spell slot left)
(1) GM: After the long fall with a splat and a thud at the bottom, you hear the sounds of people trudging down stairs. In full armor.
(1) GM: The door opens, and a very tight formation of guards with crossbows point them into the room.
** (17) Elorin looks down and winces at the bloody stain around Kaylin **
(1) GM: Katsuro, how do you react? You're the one they're focusing in on...
** (17) Elorin flies slowly down, trying to appear nonthreatening **
(16) Katsuro: (I make sure I'm not holding any weapons.)
(1) GM: Sergant: All right! Who sent you?
** (18) Kibin waves to the guards, saying, "Hi there? Could we talk to your king? He sent us on a quest, but we didn't quite realize how sensitive your precautions are against people teleporting here, so that's why we're here, and could you not shoot us because those really hurt when they hit you?" **
(17) Elorin: We were just trying to take a short cut on the way back from an assignment from the king
(1) GM: Sergant: And the writ?
** (16) Katsuro finds the writ and presents it. **
(1) GM: The Sergant examines the seal, pulls it back a fair distance from the antimagic zone, pulls out a lens, and looks at it for qutie some time.
(1) GM: The sergant then looks over at Katsuro, and pulls a gem out of his pocket, and looks through that.
** (18) Kibin flies down to the floor. Which is surprisingly spike free. Huh. **
(1) GM: After intense scruitiny, the sergant nods, then says "Stand down"
(1) GM: The crossbowman raise their weapons, and stand aside.
(1) GM: Sergant: Didn't you notice The King is a little bit paranoid? He's got this trap set up for the entire area. If you're in range to shoot a bow at the castle, it'll catch you.
(1) GM: Sergant: Still, we have caught quite a few assasins this way, so.....
(18) Kibin: Well NOW we know that... after one fatality...
(17) Elorin: Yes, I did, but she didn't wait to discuss the particulars before deciding exactly where to teleport to
(15) Kaylin: (ever the impatient one with teleports :|)
(18) Kibin: (Bah. I may be impatient, but I'm at least careful.)
(1) GM: Sergant: He can't afford to broadcast the fact - there are counters, after all. For instance, the antimagic field can't cover the runes - if someone came in with an active fly effect, they could stay right there, and go through the wall, or destroy the runes.
(18) Kibin: (..usually.)
(18) Kibin: Or if someone came in that could fly...
(1) GM: Jason speaks up from behind the sergant: Or who could walk through walls anyway.
(1) GM: At that, the crossbowman all fire shots at the unexpected and unrecognized voice.
(1) GM: Twenty crossbows clatter on the stone behind Jason.
(17) Elorin: Anyway, if you'd kindly let us out of the antimagic field and wait a little while so I can fix her up before taking us to report...
(18) Kibin: Tip, you might want to ask your king to invest in ghost touch weaponry...
** (17) Elorin nods at Kaylin **
(1) GM: Jason: Don't encourage them. I mean really....
(1) GM: Sergant: Right, your ID checks out.
(16) Katsuro: (And the GMPC could maybe not get us all killed... :P )
** (18) Kibin shrugs, saying, "Eh, we probably won't be back here anyway..." **
(1) GM: The sergant gestures to his men, and they mop up what's left of Kaylin, depositing it in a bucket from the cleaning closet.
(15) Kaylin: (Somebody grab the staff and backpack?)
(15) Kaylin: (it was hopefully cushioned by me...)
** (17) Elorin picks up any of her equipment that didn't get put in the bucket **
(1) GM: It was attended; only the attendee took damage. Just like why a fighter in fullplate isn't in his birthday suit after a blast from dragon's breath.
(18) Kibin: (Yeah, D&D fantasy should preferably just be PG-13...)
(17) Elorin: (if he rolled a 1 on his save and got really unlucky, he might be)
(18) Kibin: (Hehe. Betcha that's a story he won't be too proud of.)
(1) GM: Ah, but even then, only one item is destroyed - that could be his Cloak, shield, and plate are the three most likely. He'd still have his mundane clothing underneath.
(18) Kibin: (Onward, since I have to leave soon?)
(1) GM: Sure.
(18) Kibin: (IN about 10 minutes...)
(1) GM: Sergant: So, you said you wanted to see The King?
(18) Kibin: (Make that 40 minutes yay.)
** (18) Kibin nods at the Sergant. **
(17) Elorin: After I deal with Kaylin's wounds.
(17) Elorin: Please bring her remains over here.
(18) Kibin: 'Wounds'?
** (17) Elorin walks to a spot outside the AMF **
(1) GM: Sergant: You call that wounded? Okay.
(17) Elorin: (yes :P)
(17) Elorin: This'll take about 10 minutes
(17) Elorin: Elorin casts True Resurrection ( level 9, "As resurrection, plus remains aren't needed" )
(17) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 9 Spell ( level 9, "Spell slot tracking device" )
** (18) Kibin gets some more sleep in those 10 minutes. **
(1) GM: And after ten minutes, an invisible choir sings, Kaylin's remains are bathed in radiance, and she is once more herself. The radiance lingers just long enough for her to put a few things on.
(17) Elorin: (hmm, I'm not completely sure the diamond total in my inventory is correct. How many did we buy with the silver?)
** (18) Kibin wakes up with the invisible choir. He asks Elorin, "Does that always happen when you finish with that spell?" **
(15) Kaylin: (100k worth, I thought)
(15) Kaylin: "Aaaaaagh that hurt."
(15) Kaylin: "Thanks for bringing me back, Elorin."
(17) Elorin: You're welcome
(1) GM: Sergant: You did get the whole "paranoia" aspect, correct? The King is pretty concerned about his personal safety. He doesn't like surprise guests.
(15) Kaylin: "So in the future, no more teleporting around paranoid places..."
(15) Kaylin: "I gathered that about half a second into the pit, yes."
(18) Kibin: What does he expect, an entire ARMY to teleport to his doorstep?
** (18) Kibin hmmms. "I wonder..." **
(1) GM: Sergant: Happened a decade ago.
** (18) Kibin uses the power of his cloak to turn etheral, looking around to see if there's any defenses against etheral entry... **
(1) GM: Sergant: We had to replace the entire cleaning staff.
whispering to Kibin, You don't immediately see anything.
whispering to Kibin, Staying in place, or attempting to go through a wall?
** (17) Elorin chuckles **
(1) GM: Sergant: Where'd the dragon go?
(17) Elorin: How did an entire army fit in there?
** (18) Kibin goes out of etheral mode, popping back in the exact same place. **
(18) Kibin: That would be interesting to know too...
(16) Katsuro: "...Maybe they didn't..."
(18) Kibin: Oh. Wait. Yeah.
(1) GM: Sergant: Badly. The place does drain, but bones and muscle do build up. The last several actually suffocated from the press of bodies......
(18) Kibin: On to the king?
(1) GM: Sergant: Of course, this way.
(1) GM: The sergant gestures for you to follow him. The soldiers wait around to follow you.
** (16) Katsuro follows **
(1) GM: The sergant begins a treck up 300 feet of stairs.....
(17) Elorin: Just a moment
(17) Elorin: (Katsuro)
** (15) Kaylin hobbles along enjoying the feeling of not being 1 inch thick. **
(17) Elorin: Elorin casts Heal ( level 6, "Cures 10 points/level of damage, all diseases and mental conditions" )
(17) Elorin: Elorin casts Level 6 Spell ( level 6, "Spell slot tracking device" )
** (17) Elorin follows **
(16) Katsuro: (On whom?)
(17) Elorin: (you)
(16) Katsuro: "Thank you."
(1) GM: After a very long climb, past quite a few holes in the walls that are obviously intended for unpleasant things to come out of, and past a few locations where it looks for all the world like there's a boulder suspended overhead, exactly the size of the stairwell, you come out at the top of a 100-foot tower.
(1) GM: That maintains a very large cauldron of boiling oil, poised over the stairwell.
(18) Kibin: So... why not just get a bunch of clerics to revive the king if he dies, and not be as paranoid?
** (17) Elorin resolves to be very very careful and cautious if he ever has to attack this place **
(1) GM: The Sergant then leads you down another hundred feet's worth of stairs to ground level. This trip considerably more pleasant.
(17) Elorin: Because that's expensive?
(17) Elorin: Even if they do it at cost.
(18) Kibin: (If I ever had to attack this place, I'd just hire several dozen neutral arch mages/ultimate maguses to cast a bunch of maximized Apocalyse from the Sky on here.)
(1) GM: Sergant: Because individuals can be subverted more readily than the half of an army needed to actually compromizse security around here.
(17) Elorin: (where are you going to get the several dozen artifacts required for that?)
(17) Elorin: (as I recall, AftS requires an artifact as a material component)
(18) Kibin: (Thought it was a focus, hmmm... can't they all use the same focus?)
(1) GM: Sergant: But he's got clerical buddies, too.
(18) Kibin: Ah, so he already does that, he's just still paranoid...
(16) Katsuro: "Is it paranio when they really are out to get you?"
(17) Elorin: (just checked, it's a component, not a focus)
(18) Kibin: I would personally get bored after a decade or so of this, and just let them kill me if they just wanted to...
(1) GM: The sergant leads you to the keep, and nods at the scribes collecting names. Three of them take a moment to look at the sergant through a gem, then they nod him through.
(18) Kibin: (Ah well. Technically it's just an artifact, it doesn't have to be a magical artifact, so just go by a museum...)
(17) Elorin: (which makes it an interesting way to circumvent the normal requirement of researching a specific way to destroy the artifact)
(1) GM: (Destroying artifacts still draws the attention of beings interested in said artifacts....)
(18) Kibin: (...technically the artifact has no price, and thus qualifies for eschew materials...)
(17) Elorin: (lol)
(1) GM: The sergant and following guards escort you into the audience chamber, and the sergant stands with you over the cracked portion of the floor.
(16) Katsuro: (BRB)
(18) Kibin: (Sometime in epic levels, I want to get epic leadership, and have a squad of level 20 mages capable of nuking anything I want with that.)
(1) GM: The image of the king, on his throne, speaks.
(1) GM: Ah, so you've returned. That's a good sign. How'd it go?
(17) Elorin: The necromancer has been taken care of.
** (18) Kibin hmmms. The king trusts Katsuro, but not his own sergant? **
(17) Elorin: On a side note, would you like a new statue for a museam? :P
(17) Elorin: *museum
(1) GM: The King: Well, I'm often interested in statuary. It's not a horse, is it?
(18) Kibin: No, it's the necromancer. Or what used to be him, anyway.
(1) GM: The King: Oh? Show me.
** (18) Kibin takes out the portable hole, places it in front of him... then gets someone else to lift it out of there again. **
(1) GM: The King: Oh, and Ralf? You can stand down. I've broken bread with these five. Well, okay, the one didn't eat, but that's mostly because he couldn't hold a knife.
(1) GM: The Sergant looks relieved.
(1) GM: Sergant: Thank you sir.
(1) GM: The sergant quickly gets out of the drop zone.
(18) Kibin: I can hold a knife just fine, it's just that I'm a bit paranoid like you...
(17) Elorin: I think he meant Jason
(16) Katsuro: (Back.)
(18) Kibin: He wasn't here at the time I thought...
(16) Katsuro: (All IC?)
(1) GM: The King: Very little escapes my notice in here. You should be careful - this place isn't as it seems on conterminuous planes.
(1) GM: The King: I've trained some rather nasty dogs... had to call them off twice today already.
(18) Kibin: Yeah, those are pretty nasty...
** (18) Kibin looks at Jason with the telekinesis and stuff. **
(1) GM: The King: What? It was clear enough that he was with you. You parted ways outside the gate, and he followed quietly.
(1) GM: Jason: Oh, the lifting.
(1) GM: Ghost Telekenesis: Lift Opponent: Standard Action, Concentration: Off Ground 14 rounds (if under 300 lbs, Will save DC 28), Wait: [1d4] -> [3] = (3)
(18) Kibin: Or I could just be remembering things incorrectly. hmmm.
(1) GM: Jason concentrates, and nothing happens.
(1) GM: Jason: I'm afraid he's a little heavy for me.
(18) Kibin: Uh... hmmm.
(1) GM: The King: Oh, allow me.
(1) GM: The king gets down off his throne, growls a bit, reaches down, and pulls the statue out.
(1) GM: He then places it on the floor in front of him.
(18) Kibin: (...wait, wasn't that just an image, immaterial to my blindsense? O.o)
** (15) Kaylin watches silently, although does pause to admire the life-like appearance of the statue. **
whispering to Kibin, On the first visit, yes. This visit, no.
(1) GM: As he turns around to head back to the throne, you notice the back of his clothing looks a little burnt.....
(17) Elorin: (I was about to suggest Katsuro do it. He did rip a door off its hinges, breaking some stone in the process, after all)
(1) GM: The King: Chilly in here, isn't it?
(18) Kibin: Um... okay... anyway, that's the necromancer.
(18) Kibin: Or at least, the stoned version of him.
(1) GM: The King: I recognize him. Yes, he will definatly go well in my garden.
(1) GM: The King: First though.....
** (18) Kibin is still of the impression that this king is insane... **
(15) Kaylin: "You... recognise him? Where from?"
(17) Elorin: He was a public figure, I believe.
(1) GM: Lightning fast, the king draws a greatclub from a pocket in his clothing much to small for it, swings it around, and knocks the head from the statue.
(16) Katsuro: (BRB)
(1) GM: The King: There. Technically, he's not dead..... but this will do quite nicely.
(1) GM: The King: He is out of my hair, after all.
(18) Kibin: Technically, he's not alive either.
(1) GM: The King: And yes, I am quite mad. But hey, isn't everyone who knowingly puts themselves in such a position?
(16) Katsuro: (Back.)
** (15) Kaylin wonders what the madness comment was for. **
** (18) Kibin thinks, "Also extremely annoy...paranoid." **
(16) Katsuro: (No, no, go with The Song That Never Ends. :D )
(1) GM: The King: Very, very little escapes my scruitiny in my demense, wizardess. And no, you're right; annoying fits. Just as long as you're not trying to cross me, we'll get along fine.
** (18) Kibin wonders how much a ring of mind shielding costs... **
(16) Katsuro: (In the throne room?)
(16) Katsuro: (/me whacks Kibin upside the head.)
(18) Kibin: (Ow.)
(1) GM: The King: Anyway... you were after this guys head, I just authorized it... but I did just break an expensive statue of yours. How does 25,000 in reparations sound?
(15) Kaylin: "I would be most grateful, for one."
(18) Kibin: (Oookay, and now I have to go.)
(1) GM: The King snaps his fingers.
(16) Katsuro: "I would also be gratefull/
(16) Katsuro: * "
(1) GM: The King: It's a deal, then; I keep the statue, you walk out of here slightly richer.
(1) GM: A courtier comes by, carrying five sacks, which he hands over.
(1) GM: Each sack is marked "5,000"
(18) Kibin: (*poofs*)
(18) Kibin: Ooo, pretty button...
(18) Kibin (exit): 20:02
(1) GM: Well, it's a decent place to stop, so....
** (17) Elorin accepts one sack **
(15) Kaylin: (Yay, side quest complete and lots of battle! :)
(1) GM: Jason: We should probably just spend it all replenishing your diamond supply....
(17) Elorin: True
(15) Kaylin: "That sounds like an excellent idea."
(15) Kaylin: "It's simply amazing when a diamond becomes useful."
(16) Katsuro: "To me too. Nearly getting eaten is not a nice sensation."
(17) Elorin: (just 4 more levels and we won't need them any more :) )
(1) GM: Jason: Oh, you got eaten. It was the "digested" portion that was "nearly".
(16) Katsuro: "Thank you. I was unfamiliar with the exact terminology one should use in such a situation."
(15) Kaylin: "Being eaten isn't something that happens every day, certainly. Any other business or can we leave the King to governing his city?"
(1) GM: Jason: I think we're done for the day. I, for one, could use some rest.
(16) Katsuro: (There's a funny idea...A D&D novel in which the characters display a knowledge of the rules.)
(15) Kaylin: (so a novel form of OOTS? :)
(16) Katsuro: ('He was swinging his sword clumsely but with great force, so I knew he had Power Attack as a feat...)
(16) Katsuro: (Yeah, basically, I guess.)
(1) GM: Oh, and Katsuro? A comic relavent to recent events...
(15) Kaylin: (OK, anyways, we wander off and find an inn to sleep in for the remainder of the day/night...)
(1) GM: Night; it's just getting on to evening.
(16) Katsuro: ('She was definitly a high-level fighter; she was swerving around the boxes as she charged...')
(16) Katsuro: (*Snerk*)
(16) Katsuro: (Seen that one, thanks.)
(1) GM: Ah, okay.
(16) Katsuro: ('Cast a spell to drain their wisdom - The're first-level commoners, they won't be able to hear a thing.')
(16) Katsuro: (Anyway, bye for now?)
(1) GM: Well, that's about the limit of my plans for this week - I was expecting that fight to last a little longer, honestly. Call it a night?
(16) Katsuro: (Sure.)
(1) GM:
(1) GM: "See" you all in two weeks.
