Game connected!

Server Administrator-> You have connected to an OpenRPG server, version '1.6.1'. Welcome to Jack Simth's temporary server!
I put this up just for a short gaming session on Saturday, and stop it after.
I will likely not be able to participate today as I will be involved in some construction over at my church. However, as you can obviously see, I can leave the server running without any real trouble. If by some chance we finish before the session ends, I may join in later. Meanwhile, start without me.
Moving to room 'D&D'..

(5) Jacob: ooc: Skip the opening message; it seems I'm here today, for now at least.
(4) DM: Since I'm going to ad-lib, if you are being chased by Jimmy Two-Fingers and the KnifeHouse gang and want to duck into an alley, a DC 15 Spot check means you spot an alley.
(3) Baelhar Haruil: (awesome)
(4) DM: Hello
(5) Jacob: Baelhar - I take it you are Brianeyci?
(4) DM: What you missed: Ok, we will be running the session on the principle of 'it's reasonable that it would be there'
(5) Jacob: Or at least, your IP matches.
(3) Baelhar Haruil: (yes, reconnecting to see if I can fix something)
(4) DM: If you're in a warehouse and want to jump behind a crate, simply roll jump. There's probably crates. :)
(2) Stisnera: No more clich puns on Jake, Bards and Jack-of-all-trades. A shame. Hello Jacob.
(5) Jacob: Hello Stis.

History

: Jacob is a young Druid, just recently sent out of the forests on a walkabout to give him enough of a sample of outside life to judge if he wishes to be a part of that society. His mentors equipped him well, and he aquired a spellbook and an anklet from a bard that wanted to get as far away from them as possible...

(4) DM (whispering): Thanks, but could you just send me the node, please?
(2) Stisnera: On an unrelated topic: Tower Shields are said not to give any bonus in OpenRPG (they give +4 to AC in the PHB). Typo? Intentional? Or I don't get something?
(4) DM: I don't know. Just change the tower shield to 3.5
(6) Baelhar Haruil (enter): 11:30
(5) Jacob: * Well, the bonus from a tower shield depends on how it is used; it can be either used as a shield to get +4 AC, or it can be used for total cover.
(2) Stisnera: Done. There is another problem with Tower Shields, but it isn't quite important, so it will wait (on the thread).
(4) DM: And, since I do want to meet some minimal standard of roleplaying, after the begin, could Jacob explain why he's here and not Jake? :)
(2) Stisnera: Stisnera: I swear I didn't kill Jake.
(5) Jacob: * Using the shield as a shield produces a -2 to-hit penalty (that's if you are proficient with them
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (hrm)
(4) DM: Ok, everybody ready?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (how to I increase font size)
(5) Jacob: I think I can manage that.
** Sorry, don't understand what a /? is...
(2) Stisnera: (I use it as a shield Jacob, usually. I have given up using my crossbow or any "to hit" thing.)
** Sorry, don't understand what a /? is...

(4) DM: Ok,
whispering to Baelhar Haruil,
(4) DM: ----BEGIN----
(4) DM: Dieger: And who are you? *Pointing at Jacob*
(2) Stisnera: One of my admirers.
(5) Jacob: I am Jacob. I recently had the dubious pleasure of meeting a rather crazed bard.
(4) DM: Dieger: Seems far to intelligent for that.
(5) Jacob: He seemed to want to get rid of a few rather odd items.
(2) Stisnera: I sure think it is so. Didn't you see me at the latest pageantry?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Halt! Who art thou to disturb my rest?
(4) DM: Dieger: No, but the mind boggles at the thought.
(5) Jacob: ooc: Ooh, we need to go over our descriptions for each other, don't we?
(2) Stisnera: I thank you for your kind words, Dieger.
(4) DM: Dieger is a cynical, bitter looking man in his thirties.
(4) DM: Dieger: Any time.
(5) Jacob: Jacob is a young, dark-haired human in in a deep green dragonhide breastplate, holding a large dragonhide shield of the same color.
(2) Stisnera: Look, am I not a most enticing Tiefling, with a ravishing tail, delightful scars, the most beautiful scaly skin you had ever seen, and wits to match? And I failed to mention my deep black eyes, reflecting my inner beauty.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (Baelhar Haruil is a younger looking male humanoid with pointed ears, sleeping under a tree and eying the party warily)
(2) Stisnera: You there, feel free to stop spying on us, will you? Don't be afraid of joining us. We didn't kill anyone. Well, not exactly "anyone".
(5) Jacob: Yes, I must admit that is the most beautiful scaly skin I have ever seen.
(4) DM: Dieger: Well, you're not the ugliest person I've ever seen. But I'm pretty sure I ate the wrong mushrooms the last time.
(5) Jacob: I, for one, haven't killed anyone yet - unless you choose to count the dragon I'm wearing.
(2) Stisnera: I forgot my mirror in that room with the mushrooms Dieger. Would you be so kind as to go back there and find it? Please let the trap close on you.
(4) DM: OOC: No mushrooms in that room.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (eyes the party, lets out a breath, closes his eyes and returns to sleeping)
(4) DM: Dieger: Indeed? Killed a dragon? Why, let us rejoice, for surely your prowress will let us pass all hindrance!
(2) Stisnera: (Stisnera's selective memory)
(4) DM: Dieger: And for that matter, who art though, sleeping beneath the tree?
(5) Jacob: Granted, it wasn't a fair fight. A surprise attack from a balista will kill most anything.
(2) Stisnera: I will make the translation Dieger: that... person was there when a dragon was killed. Nothing more.
(4) DM: OOC: Ok, let's wrap this admittadly amusing part up.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (snort) what who... let me be.
(4) DM: Dieger: You know, I do beleive I like the way you think.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Who are you three?
(2) Stisnera: Don't like the glance you gave. Or your attitude. You seem almost as friendly as myself.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps. The road ahead is dangerous.
(4) DM: Dieger: I am Dieger, a man of resources, talent and intellect. Also, I kill things and take their stuff.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps I can travel with your party. You seem well armed (looks at Stisnera).
(2) Stisnera: A man of intellect? I hope you won't mind my sniggering.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: You kill? Many things kill, many deserve to live, many deserve to die.
(5) Jacob: Or well armored, at least. Just how much steel are you wearing there, Stis?
(4) DM: Dieger: Not at all. It would only be fair to allow you some amusement.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: And you creature, what art thou, some breed of orcish?
(2) Stisnera: I am the luckiest Tiefling to have walked on that land. See how well... escorted I am?
(4) DM: Dieger: Oh, I only kill what deserves to die.
(2) Stisnera: Dieger is quite human, I think. There are no other orcish creatures in our vicinity.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Despite your appearance, I sense no evil in your hearts. Let us not tarry.
(2) Stisnera: I have just witnessed many accidents myself. Never killed anyone.
(4) DM: OOC: No more help in battles, by the way. Four of us now.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: You talk of death as if it were some game Tiefling.
(2) Stisnera: Tiefling isn't my name you know. Call me Stisnera, that will do.
(5) Jacob: ooc: That's fine. Jacob is well armored, and has access to healing.
(2) Stisnera: A game? People die all the time, that's all. Nothing odd about that.
(5) Jacob: By the by, did any of you spy the posting in the tavern?
(4) DM: Dieger: Posting? I must admit, the sour ale and supposed 'food' kept my mind occupied.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: My apologies, Stisnera. Your appearance is quite... remarkable.
(2) Stisnera: Or simply the pretty maids at said tavern.
(4) DM: OOC: Still underground, unless anybody objects.
(2) Stisnera: You will grow used to it. Or you could become blind, whichever you prefer.
(4) DM: Dieger: You mean the one with the warts?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps we should move along. It would be well to go above ground.
(4) DM: Dieger: Or the one with the rotten teeth?
(4) DM: OOC: That could be a campaign goal...Leave the caverns?
(4) DM: Deiger: But enough of this. What posting?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I have been searching for an exit for several days humens and have seen nothing. Posting?
(5) Jacob: It seemed the mayor was having some slight gang issues. I didn't look to closely at it, as I was seeking Stis and Dieger to see if they had any information on this artifact that odd bard pushed on me.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: ooc : we are in some sort of underground cavern with a city in it?
(5) Jacob: ooc: have been so far.
(4) DM: Dieger: I did not even know we had it.
(2) Stisnera: (Perhaps a *big* cavern in fact)
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Yes. These underground dwellers are quite remarkable are they not. Yet they cannot deal with simple ruffians.
(2) Stisnera: What, you hadn't noticed all the dirt on your clothes Dieger? That was the artifact.
(4) DM: OOC: We would have to be in a different city, though. The last one had quite powerfull guardians.
(5) Jacob: I had it identified - or tried to, anyway. It frightened the wizard I hired.
(2) Stisnera: It was a wizard. Expected.
(5) Jacob: Here, I'll show you. (shows the anklet Jake had picked up)
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps we can make some coin by thwarting the bandits. At least, we may find an exit out of the cavern.
(5) Jacob: ooc: anklet with gems
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Where did you acquire this artifact (looks at Jacob).
(2) Stisnera: And save the world in the meantime, if there is anything worth saving.
(5) Jacob: As I said, an odd bard pushed it on me, with some story of wanting to get as far away from it as possible.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: And what of yourself Stisnera, are you worth saving?
(4) DM: Dieger: Certainly. I'm worth saving and I guess you are too. *Gestures magnimiously*
(2) Stisnera: We don't need to save ourselves, Dieger, though you could use some help.
(2) Stisnera: So, what do you know about that artifact? It sure seems pretty; maybe we could sell it.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: We should not be so rash (looks at Stisnera).
(5) Jacob: Very little. The Identify was inconclusive. It seems to stretch into other planes.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps the mage was incompetent.
(2) Stisnera: Seems like the definition of "mage" to me.
(5) Jacob: I doubt that. Identify is an easy spell for wizards, and he was able to decipher the spellbook I also got from that odd bard.
(4) DM: OOC: Raistlen and Elminster want to talk to you...:D j/k
(2) Stisnera: See? They just take an spell made by someone else, and cast it.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps the mage wished to decieve you. We are in an underground cavern.
(2) Stisnera: (A spell. *Greets the Typo Fairy*)
(5) Jacob: ooc: nooo.. they aren't typos - we can blame it all on transmission errors!
(6) Baelhar Haruil: ooc : lol speak for yourself
(6) Baelhar Haruil: ooc : I'll blame my dice rolls on typos
(6) Baelhar Haruil: ooc : =D
(2) Stisnera: I sure picture a mage trying to deceive people to fight over... what was it again? Some anklet? Next time, we will haggle for hours to buy some dirt.
(5) Jacob: Anyway, what is your preference? Shall we see the mayor about the gang, or should we see about following my footsteps back to the surface?
(2) Stisnera: But I think you said something about "that courageous bard wanting to get rid of it and giving it away" to me. Mind if I have a look?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Your companions certainly sound like they have had an eventful past.
(5) Jacob: Quite. I like to collect items that glow when looked at in the right manner.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I am out of coin, and my rations are nearly spent.
(5) Jacob: I can spare you a ration or two.
(5) Jacob: Hands Baelhar two rations
(4) DM: Dieger: I can spare you some coin for rations.
(4) DM: Dieger hands Baelhar 10gp.
(2) Stisnera: Start eating dirt. Oh, I would rather see what that gang is up to. With our luck, they will be a bunch of incompetent green soldiers having fled from home.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Not needed. My desire is to see the Mayor. Perhaps his task is simple, and we may gain lodging and gold.
(4) DM: [1d6] -> [6] = (6)
(5) Jacob: To the mayor's it is.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (returns Jacob his rations and returns Dieger his gold)
(2) Stisnera: And I badly wanted to have a night stroll with Dieger. We have much to share, and love declarations to make. Among other things. Right Dieger?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: The construction is remarkable is it not? Somehow I always thought of dusty dwarves and caverns.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: But somehow underground, in this cavern, life thrives.
(4) DM: Dieger: Absolutly. *With a nearly perfectly straight face*
(4) DM: Dieger: Life tends to do that. Even when you're left to die...
(5) Jacob: It's simple enough for life to thrive underground pulls out a dagger with Continual Flame on the handle - all it takes is light to grow crops by, and magic can supply that fairly readily.
(2) Stisnera: *Whispers to Dieger* I meant looking at valuable goods to steal, once we are done with the town. Just curiosity really.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Your mannerisms of speech are awkward. You two are bethrothed?
(2) Stisnera: Sure we are. And you are growing horns.
(4) DM: Dieger: *Whispers to Stisnera* There certainly seems to be no shortage of rich people just waiting for someone to help their burden of material possesions.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: What, you will unleash magic on me?
(5) Jacob: Only if you are already injured. I know the healing arts.
(2) Stisnera: I merely meant you are about as likely to have horns as I am to allow Dieger to court me.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: magic is not renewable. There must be powerful mages in this cavern maintaining the ecosystem.
(4) DM: Dieger: Or I to court her.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Ah. A... humen figure of speech.
(4) DM: Dieger: Not really. Continual flame lasts nearly indefinatly.
(2) Stisnera: You don't know what you're missing.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Still, what keeps the walls from collasping onto themselves? What of the animals, do they not grow weary underground?
(5) Jacob: Let's see... where's town hall?
(5) Jacob: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+8] -> [1,8] = (9)
(2) Stisnera: I might wish to make you think you have horns though. Or something of the like. Wouldn't you just love it?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: And have you encountered goblins? I have been expecting them but have been fortunate so far.
(2) Stisnera: Seems like more... that way to me Jacob.
(2) Stisnera: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+1] -> [6,1] = (7)
(5) Jacob: ooc: dude, he's blind!
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Wisdom Check : [1d20 +2] -> [15,2] = (17)
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I believe... I remember the Town Hall is in this direction.
(4) DM: OOC: No racial alignments in this world, so goblins can be friendly.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: ooc friendly goblins what's next lol
(2) Stisnera: We could just make a run to the city hall. We follow the path that strikes our fancy, pay a visit to a tavern or three, stroll around town, and meet up at the hall.
(5) Jacob: ooc: note that "can be" and "are" are entierly different things.
(4) DM: OOC: If you've been there, you can probably find it again. Checks are for things where you don't know where it is or you're lost.
(2) Stisnera: (Good-mannered Tieflings. No, there are actually some. Stis is just in a bad mood today)
(5) Jacob: ooc: and every day. At least until she gets her Charisma up
(4) DM: OOC: Beat me too it.
(2) Stisnera: (Not quite. She is usually even more charming than that)
(4) DM: Dieger: So this is a town hall. I think I was drunk the last time I saw it, for it seems it does not, in fact, lean sideways.
(4) DM: OOC: the town hall
(2) Stisnera: Because you are sober now? Wonder.
(4) DM: OOC: The typo fairy strikes again!
(4) DM: Dieger: That seems a reasonable assumption.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: So (looks at Jacob). What is thy name?
(5) Jacob: Call me Jacob.
(5) Jacob: And thou?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I am Baelhar Haruil of Maernghymn. These two jest much. Are they always like this?
(4) DM: Dieger strolls into the town hall and takes a look around. Purely for aethestic(sp?) purposes.
(2) Stisnera: (Aesthetic, I think.)
(5) Jacob: I just recently made their aquaintence, at about the same time you did.
(4) DM: OOC: Thanks.
(5) Jacob: ooc: but yes.
(2) Stisnera: When we want to annoy wanderers, we do.
(4) DM: Dieger: Or we want to annoy each other.
(2) Stisnera: As if you could make me lose my temper.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Indeed. They seem... disturbed somewhat. I am unfamiliar with their mannerisms or speech. Although I spend little time with humens.
(4) DM: The town hall is large, for something carved underground. Several desks litter the reception area, along with various decorations.
(2) Stisnera: Again, you don't know what you're missing. Humans are so interesting, if you don't hang aroung for more than a very short while.
(4) DM: A clerk looks up. "Adventurers?"
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I have much to learn then Stisnera
(5) Jacob: Yes, we are seeking out the mayor in regards to his posting at the tavern.
(2) Stisnera: Hopeless romaers would be much more fitting.
(2) Stisnera: (Roamers)
(4) DM: Fussy clerk "The mayor? You will have to fill out these forms and come tommorrow!" Other clerk "Ignore him. Right this way, please." Fussy clerk "This is against protocal!"
(4) DM: Other clerk *snort*
(5) Jacob: Ignores fussy clerk.
(2) Stisnera: See what you aren't used to, Most Honourable Elf.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (steps up) You are quite fair mi'lady.
(4) DM: The mayors office is trimmed in gold, with an old desk actually made from a tree.
(2) Stisnera: And you are quite blind, my vassal.
(4) DM: Other clerk: "Adventurers, sir."
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (talking to a clerk) My companions and I have heard that there is a task to be completed.
(5) Jacob: ooc: got to go for a while. Might be back.
(4) DM: The (quite fat) mayor: "Oh, that's nice. Be with you in a second."
(4) DM: OOC: Ok.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Charisma Check : [1d20 - 1] -> [6,-1] = (5)
(2) Stisnera: I wouldn't speak in my name, if I were you. A friendly warning really. *Shrugs*
(4) DM: Clerk in a nassaly voice "See the mayor about that, please."
(6) Baelhar Haruil: What? Have you antogonized the city officials in some way Sitisner...
(4) DM: OOC: Ok, I'll wait for everybody to get caught up. Guess I was going to fast.
(2) Stisnera: Stisnera. If that's too difficult to say, call me "Most Exalted Empress beneath the Jade Sky". I didn't cross these officials, not yet, but speaking for me... might anger me. *Smirks*
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Anger thou? I have not done anything to offend thee, I believe. Your title is extravagant. Did you purchase it or was it hereditary?
(2) Stisnera: *To clerk* I will speak slowly. Where. Is. The. Mayor, and What. Is. He. Doing?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (looks on)
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (closes his eyes and tries to recall something)
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Intelligence Check [1d20 + 2] -> [12,2] = (14)
(4) DM: OOC: The non-fussy clerk already led the way to the mayor's office.
(4) DM: OOC: While you two stayed and argued. :D
(2) Stisnera: I should like you to avoid being too informal as well. Merely use the pronoun "you", more formal than these "thees" and "thous". That is, if you give any importance to proper manners, unlike me.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Informal? I was taught High Common, it is difficult to change habits Stisnera. I cannot promise.
(4) DM: Fussy clerk "Oh, just head that way already. Nobody understands the importance of proper protocol anymore. Nobody!"
(2) Stisnera: Clerk, not bringing us to the mayor yourself was quite improper. We hoped you to make amends, but you did not.
(4) DM: FC grumbles and leads you to the mayor.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: My companion and I may lodge a complaint.
(2) Stisnera: Will.
(2) Stisnera: *Follows the clerk, and takes her time*
(4) DM: OOC: So, uh, when do you get here?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) No small wonder that the city cannot deal with bandits. If the city hall is so undisciplined, the city guard must be idling as well.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: opens the door. "After you mi'lady."
(2) Stisnera: (Just a bit more slowly than what it would normally take. Enough to irritate a bit, but not half the afternoon)
(4) DM: The mayor looks up. "There's more of you?"
(4) DM: He blinks several times.
(2) Stisnera: *Goes in, and represses the urge of slamming the door shut*
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) It appears we are not the first to attempt the endeavour. The task may be difficult.
(2) Stisnera: There are four of us. Four, as in between three and five. Any problem?
(4) DM: Mayor "No, not at all. Your reasoning is quite sound."
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) Is it wise to antogonize the first citizen such?
(4) DM: Dieger: *whispers* No, but she antagonizes everybody.
(2) Stisnera: It shows our resolve to tackle any problem whatsoever.
(5) Jacob: So, what information do you have that we can start with? It might be handy to know how to recognize the local gang members, or to have an idea where they hang out.
(2) Stisnera: So, what's the catch? Is it just a few bandits to dispatch?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Pardon my question First Citizen. I am Baelhar Haruil of Maernghymn at your service. We have heard you have a task at hand and require bondsmen.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps we should speak one at a time.
(5) Jacob: bows slightly your lead.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (looks at Stisnera)
(4) DM: Mayor "Gang members?" He mumbles a bit more and shuffles through his desk, then comes up with a sheaf of reports. "Oh, yes. Some of the merchants are complaining of ruffians. Personally, I think they are overeacting. Surely a few guards would see these ruffians off."
(4) DM: OOC: The mayor looks like he has no idea what a real gang looks like.
(4) DM: OOC: Or violence.
(4) DM: OOC: Or reality.
(2) Stisnera: Then why are you are hiring adventurers? Looks very odd to say the least.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (whispers to Stisnera) ask the First Citizen of the other adventurers... how did they meet their demise?
(5) Jacob: ooc: I'm guessing it's the clercs...
(5) Jacob: ooc: who really run things - including hiring us.
(4) DM: Mayor "Oh, one of my clerks recommended him. Ambitious man, if a bit prone to overreacting. Anyway, he's sometimes right, so, um, if the merchants stop complaining, I'll give you some gold. Now, off with you."
(2) Stisnera: Speak for yourself, Elven Vassal. Death seems so unlikely in such a magnificent place.
(5) Jacob: Steps out of the office.
(2) Stisnera: In other words, you literally know nothing about the matter. Who was that clerk?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Sense Motive : [1d20 + 2 + 4] -> [5,2,4] = (11)
(2) Stisnera: A trained paper-pusher, or someone with common sense?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (whispers to Stisnera) I really do think you should settle your wits. We do not want to be out-haggled, and we desire a fair price for our services.
(5) Jacob: ooc: checking for the mayor, a clerk, or a party member? Sense motive is opposed.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: ooc : oppose Mayor
(4) DM: OOC: I'll roll the mayors common sense.
(4) DM: [1d20-8] -> [15,-8] = (7)
(5) Jacob: ooc: so nice to be able to see the modifiers...
(4) DM: OOC: Guess what? He has no ulterior motive and probably wouldn't know what it was.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: ooc : yeah isn't there a way to hide it lol
(4) DM: OOC: Time to open presents, apparently.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (whispers to Stisnera) It seems this man is a... simpleton. We should take the task.
(2) Stisnera: It isn't as if any clerk here would understand us, except perhaps that bright clerk.
(4) DM: OOC: Have to go.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: (whipsers to Stisnera) from his mannerisms and speech, he does not seem to have an agenda.
(2) Stisnera: (Do you expect to come back later? Should we wait for you? Should we be silly?)
(2) Stisnera: You are too kind. Just say he has a lot of empty space between his two ears.
(4) DM: OOC: Expect to come back. Not sure how fast, shouldn't be long, I wouldn't think. By all means, be silly.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: ============================================================================
(6) Baelhar Haruil: PC CHARACTER RUMBLE!
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Attack: Ranged Sling Attack : [1d20+3] -> [7,3] = (10)
(5) Jacob: Attacking who?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: You
(2) Stisnera: Himself, perhaps. You know how these Elves are.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I don't think I can take Stisnera yet lol
(5) Jacob: Flat footed, Jacob's got an AC of 17. You miss.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: well this is all ooc
(6) Baelhar Haruil: 17 AC holy cow
(2) Stisnera: AC of 21 here.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: flat-footed?
(6) Baelhar Haruil: what level are you guys?
(2) Stisnera: Jacob? What part of armour is removed when flat-footed?
(2) Stisnera: (21 is Tower Shield and Half-Plate)
(5) Jacob: Flat-footed = by surprise (no dex bonus). Most of it is from armor. With dex bonus, AC = 19.
(5) Jacob: Scimitar (base): [1d20-1] -> [20,-1] = (19) ===> Damage: [1d6+0] -> [6,0] = (6)
(5) Jacob: Critical hit? [1d20-1] -> [8,-1] = (7) ===> Damage: [2d6+0] -> [3,6,0] = (9)
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I have a puny 15 ac and can't wear any armor
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I'm dead
(6) Baelhar Haruil: lol
(2) Stisnera: My turn then. Mind Thrust!
(2) Stisnera: Roll Will.
(2) Stisnera: Damage roll [1d10] -> [10] = (10)
(5) Jacob: Will save: [1d20+6] -> [6,6] = (12)
(2) Stisnera: You needed 16.
(5) Jacob: Well, I'm down.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: lol
(2) Stisnera: I targetted Brian Jacob.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: what kind of enemies is Narf throwing at you
(2) Stisnera: Erh... Jacob, I was targetting Brian.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I was dead from Jacob's first hit
(5) Jacob: He was already dead.
(2) Stisnera: Does that prevent me from killing him?
(5) Jacob: Not here.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: how come first and second level guys can afford full plate armor and tower shield
(6) Baelhar Haruil: are you armored knights lol
(5) Jacob: First time GM.
(2) Stisnera: Half-plate, not full plate. ;) (I will have full plate once I get the money)
(2) Stisnera: Narf gave us money in the first adventures. Quite a lot.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: yeah well
(2) Stisnera: (Well, quite a lot by your standards of 13 starting gold coins)
(2) Stisnera: I have a Light Crossbow and bolts if you want. Sell them, that will give you some coin. Not a lot, but Stis is a miser.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: time to bust out Bruce Lee.
(5) Jacob: Seriously though, Jacob traded in Jake's Mithril Chain shirt (roughly 1150 value) for Dragonhide - which costs double masterwork. A breastplate and a large shield come out to about 900 for Dragon
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Weapon Attack: Laser Pistol : [1d20 + 10 + 2] -> [11,10,2] = (23) Damage : [2d10] -> [10,8] = (18)
(5) Jacob: That's dragonhide.
(5) Jacob: Who you shooting at?
(2) Stisnera: At the Tarrasque nearby.
(5) Jacob: I'm not flat-footed this time, after all.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: You. lol. this is a 12th level character.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I have 17 armor on this guy naked lol
Jake casts Produce Flame ( level 1, "Produces a bright flame for 1 min/level for both light and attacking" )
Jake can cast Produce Flame 0 more times
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Captivate: (target a flat-footed opponent, DC 15) Charisma Check : [1d20 + 4 + 4] -> [3,4,4] = (11) (target makes will saving throw DC10)
(2) Stisnera: Your character has just been arrested for exhibitionism. Roll [3d6] -> [1,2,2] = (5) for the amount of months you spend in prison.

(2) Stisnera: [6d10] -> [1,7,1,4,3,4] = (20)
(5) Jacob: A cow falls out of the sky and lands on the Laser-wielding guy's head, killing him fatally.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Bluff : [1d20 + 16 + 4 + 2] -> [9,16,4,2] = (31)
(5) Jacob: After all, lasers are a complete non-sequiter here.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Yeah well you would like my mecha then. Lol.
(5) Jacob: Just requires something a little bigger.
(5) Jacob: A small moon, maybe.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: I'll use Alyenan
(2) Stisnera: There is no such person as Alyenan. You have just used your last chance: please now proceed to meet your death.
(5) Jacob: Beware - I hold the mighty power of the Kick.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Oh yeah
(5) Jacob: yeah.
(5) Jacob: kick 6
(2) Stisnera: Hide Skill Check: [1d20+5-17] -> [17,5,-17] = (5) (includes Armor Penalty of -17)
(6) Baelhar Haruil: Commanding Presence (Weaken): (attack action, target is shaken, -2 to attack and saving throws, DC = targets level) Intimidate Check : [1d20 + 16 + 4 + 0] -> [18,16,4,0] = (38) Duration : [1d6 + 4 + 4] -> [5,4,4] = (13) rounds.
(6) Baelhar Haruil: HAHA you are weakened for 13 rounds.
Server Administrator-> Kicking '(6) Baelhar Haruil' from server... Annoyance.
(6) Baelhar Haruil (exit): 12:46
(2) Stisnera: Even with half a forge on my back, I can still roll a decent Hide check.
(7) Baelhar Haruil (enter): 12:46
(2) Stisnera: Remind me to drop the armour before hiding next time.
(5) Jacob: As I said, beware.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: so you cower beind your admin powers
(5) Jacob: Welcome back.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: lol
(2) Stisnera: %s Tried to cast %s but has used all of them for today,Please rest so I can cast more. % ( charNameL, name )
(2) Stisnera: Stisnera casts Raise Dead ( level 5, "Restores life to subject who died up to 1 day/level ago" )
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Anyway
(2) Stisnera: You have been brought back to life, Elven Vassal.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: so how hard are the encounters.
(2) Stisnera: Please grow wiser now, for I will not be always here to help you.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: vassal? I am of higher birth than thou, and shalt forever be mortal!
(5) Jacob: Hard to say. I've only been available for a handful.
(2) Stisnera: You shall forever be a mortal, that part is true.
(2) Stisnera: The encounters have mostly depended on our luck actually. We did plan to use strategy, but either it turned out to be unneeded, or we dropped the strategy once fighting.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Mortal, and able to harm thee. Hast thou not thought of that mere Tiefling?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: luck eh
(7) Baelhar Haruil: damn
(2) Stisnera: One of the strategies included cross-dressing, wherein an Elf would have acted the part of an Elven lady. It was dropped due to a shortage in the number of Elves around.
(5) Jacob: However, where luck allows preparations, preparations allow non-luck.
(2) Stisnera: (In our latest fight, all our attacks succeeded and did more damage than on average. The Dwarf wizard also critically failed his initiative roll, and lost one turn. He didn't get any)
(5) Jacob: Jake was a half-elf. Granted, he probably had the charisma and bluff skills to pull it off, but he didn't have any disguise (which whould have been required)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Munchkining aside
(2) Stisnera: We had the clothes of that lady, so it would have worked out fairly well, I think.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: rp going good
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ur funny alyenan lol
(5) Jacob: Oh, by the way - don't try to fake a roll unless you are assigned GM. It's blatantly obvious - to everyone else.
(2) Stisnera: I barely succeeded in my own bluff rolls during the last session. How mean of Narf to make *me* roll Charisma skills.
(5) Jacob: Mean, maybe - appropriet, definately.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: when did I fake a roll lol
(5) Jacob: you didn't.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Narf could hide his rolls
(7) Baelhar Haruil: do you guys use the minature grid?
(2) Stisnera: We would revolt if he did.
(5) Jacob: Yes, he could - that's one of the requirements of GM.
(2) Stisnera: Usually we do.
(5) Jacob: YOU wouldn't be able to tell. The flag doesn't go off if someone assigned the role of GM fakes a roll.
(2) Stisnera: Grumble Skill Check [1d20+4] -> [17,4] = (21)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: let's RP.
(5) Jacob: You mean, inroduce ourselves to each other.
(5) Jacob: ?
(2) Stisnera: Glower Skill Check [1d20+8] -> [15,8] = (23) (At both of you)
(4) DM: OOOC: Back
(7) Baelhar Haruil: good
(7) Baelhar Haruil: lets roll
(5) Jacob: ==========================================================================================
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (gets in character)
(2) Stisnera: So, dear mayor, who was that bright clerk you spoke of? Seems like we should see her instead.
(5) Jacob: ooc: oh, narf, could you assign Baelhar back to player? I told him I had the power of the Mighty Kick and he didn't believe me.
(4) DM: Mayor "Clerk?" Blinks. "Well, if you want one of them, just yell. Their all over."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) I really do not think it is wise to anger him. He may be a simpleton but he can obviously tell when you insult him.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) or perhaps not.
(5) Jacob: gets info from clerk - gang location, identifying features, et cetera
(2) Stisnera: I was going to say that.
(4) DM: Mayor "Clerk!"
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) May I try?
(2) Stisnera: Well, we thank you dear mayor. You were so helpful.
(4) DM: A clerk scurries in. "Yes?"
(2) Stisnera: It is too easy to mock him, but be my guest.
(4) DM: Mayor "They want to know where these ruffians are."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (steps forward) First Citizen, we have accepted your mission. May we inquire into the details of our task?
(4) DM: Clerk "Well, let's see..." *Hands you a stack of papers.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Most importantly, how much coin are we to be reimbursed?
(5) Jacob: ooc: someone worried about money would not become a monk....
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc we need food
(2) Stisnera: (He is just keeping the interests of Stis in mind. And Dieger probably)
(4) DM: Mayor "Money? Albert usually takes care of that. Clerk, show them too Albert."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc I'm an exiled monk, I'm going to multi into cleric
(4) DM: Dieger certianly. Dieger is a 'rogue'.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: First Citizen... if we may trouble you for an advance on your payment.
(4) DM: The clerk shows you to a small corner office, behind which a small dwarf sits.
(2) Stisnera: Half the money.
(4) DM: OOC: Uh, did we leave you two behind again?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Greetings. The First Citize... Mayor directed us here. I am Baelhar Haruil.
(5) Jacob: follows party
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (we catch up fast lol)
(4) DM: Dwarf "Yes, most people come here sooner or later. You can go." That last too the clerk.
(2) Stisnera: *Follow because she does not trust the rest of them*
(4) DM: Albert the Dwarf "I take it you are here about the gang problem?"
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) A dwarf, and an arrogant one at that.
(2) Stisnera: (FollowS. *Grumbles*)
(5) Jacob: That would be so.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Sense Motive [1d20 + 2] -> [14,2] = (16)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc target Dwarf
(2) Stisnera: *Mumbles* That seems the hallmark of dwarves.
(4) DM: OOC: I'll roll the dwarf's bluff.
(4) DM: [1d20+4] -> [16,4] = (20)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc oh wait
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc I have 4 ranks in the skill (even though I haven't done my skill sheet yet)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc so its tied lol
(5) Jacob: ooc: which means you get no info - but know that you don't.
(5) Jacob: ooc: if I remember right, that is.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc come again?
(2) Stisnera: (You know you have failed, and get nothing from the attempt)
(4) DM: Albert "Well, it's quite simple, really. Due to certain...circumstances, the guard force is not as...motivated or trained as it should be. So, certain members of the public have taken it upon themselves to offer 'protection', as well as various services, which are normally frowned upon."
(5) Jacob: ooc: whereas, if you had failed badly, you would get false info, and not know about it.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) I cannot read dwarves well. Their beards get in the way of their mouths.
(4) DM: OOC: Are you wispering?
(2) Stisnera: (If you had failed quite "well", you would have been unaware of your failure. Say, if you had been looking for traps, a failure would mean you actually thought there was no trap. Dieger failed such rolls before)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc we're so close it would be hard not to hear lol
(4) DM: OOC: Many times. And search checks.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol
(2) Stisnera: Speak a bit louder Elven roamer; no need to be ashamed of your opinions.
(4) DM: Albert "And you beardless folk are so easy to read. Now, can we get on with this?"
(2) Stisnera: Sure we can. How much?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) I was merely avoiding a possible confrontation. (steps up) Yes we may. We ask for payment in advance, half.
(4) DM: Sense motive on all of you.
(4) DM: [1d20+8] -> [1,8] = (9)
(5) Jacob: Bluff Skill Check: [1d20+0] -> [6,0] = (6)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: As well, we ask that a writ of payment be given to us, signed and stamped.
(2) Stisnera: Bluff Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [11,3] = (14)
(4) DM: OOC: And the curse of bad NPC rolls strikes again.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc is bluff a class skill for a monk lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc okay I'll just roll for now
(5) Jacob: ooc: don't know, but it should be useable untrained.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+2] -> [6,2] = (8)
(4) DM: Albert "Perhaps it would be best if I finished explaining the situation first?"
(5) Jacob: T'would be useful.
(4) DM: OOC: Ok, Jacob and Baelhar...What's your motive.
(2) Stisnera: Perhaps. *I* am willing to hear you.
(2) Stisnera: (Bluff isn't Brian, not in the SDR)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc my motive is to try and weasel as much money out of the dwarf as possible. I also want to get in a brawl with him.
(5) Jacob: Looking to try out doing a good turn, and get some cash while I'm at it
(5) Jacob: Looking to try out doing a good turn, and get some cash while I'm at it
(5) Jacob: ooc: missed a closing /
(2) Stisnera: (In a less cryptic form: Bluff isn't a class skill for monks according to the SDR)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc you can tell that from the way I'm standing. Elves stand uh a certain way when they're itching for a fight. lol.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc that's so lame oh well
(4) DM: OOC: Bluff is usable untrained.
(4) DM: OOC: Cross-class for monks.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc forget it then I have no ranks lol
(4) DM: Albert "The city guard is not, perhaps, as well-compensated as it should be. Thus, certain individuals within it have taken it upon themselves to increase their economic standing."
(5) Jacob: So you're saying perhaps some of the city gaurd are the "ruffians"?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: You accuse us of something Dwarf? Your ilk are all alike. You must feel quite at home in this dirthole.
(2) Stisnera: They are guards after all.
(2) Stisnera: And they say I am the one being rude.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Quiet you, I want to hear the dwarf.
(2) Stisnera: *Pushes the Elf nearer to the dwarf, or at least shakes him a bit*
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20 + 1] -> [13,1] = (14)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc opposed strength check
(4) DM: Albert "And I had heard that elves were so polite. Why, I have even spoken civily with some of them."
(2) Stisnera: Str check: [1d20+2] -> [16,2] = (18)
(4) DM: Albert "Now, be silent."
(2) Stisnera: Some Elves are. Some of them are worse than Tieflings in a bad mood.
(5) Jacob: Hard to believe, that.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (restrained in corner) I recognize you. You are Albert the Deciever!
(2) Stisnera: Even with a perfect example under your eyes, Jacob?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: We should not trust him. We will finish the mission, come to him for our payment, and he will deny it.
(4) DM: Albert "Gee, how many dwarves are named Albert? Well, twelve cousins, second cousins and assorted relatives of mine."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: My kin have had dealings with Albert the Deciever.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Do not lie Dwarf, I can see your neck markings.
(2) Stisnera: I pity you. Aren't relatives irksome at least? I would hate having so many of them.
(5) Jacob: ooc: Sigh. Should have purchased Diplomacy....
(4) DM: OOC: Baelhar, roll spot.
(2) Stisnera: Elven Vassal, please have a walk round town, and drink in my name.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20 + 4 + 2] -> [8,4,2] = (14)
(4) DM: OOC: Eh. I like the idea, so we'll go with it anyway.
(4) DM: Albert gives a cry and runs for a dresser. Roll Init.
(2) Stisnera: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [19,3] = (22)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc dex is modifier for init?
(5) Jacob: Dex check: [1d20+2] -> [15,2] = (17)
(4) DM: OOC: Dex is basically Init.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20 +3] -> [13,3] = (16)
(4) DM: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [16,3] = (19)
(4) DM: OOC: Ok, Stis, you go first. You also move fast enough to catch Albert the Deciever, if you want to.
(5) Jacob: ooc: so that's Stis, Dieger, Jacob, Baelhar. Where's the dwarf fit into the sequence?
(4) DM: OOC: I think I'm going to make ATD the evil twin. :D
(2) Stisnera: *Lets the dwarf run. Running would be so tiring with so much steel on her back* *Mind Thrust on Dwarf*
(4) DM: OOC: He acted first.
(4) DM: OOC: His action started it.
(2) Stisnera: Damage roll [1d10] -> [5] = (5)
(5) Jacob: ooc: thanks.
(4) DM: ATD stumbles, but still hits something on the dresser. A secret passage opens and he rolls inside.
(4) DM: Dieger runs after him. (Will roll Dex next turn to see if he catches him)
(5) Jacob: follows
(7) Baelhar Haruil: pulls out his quarterstaff and slides into the hole.
(4) DM: OOC: Ok, Dex from everyone who's running.
(5) Jacob: Dex check: [1d20+2] -> [1,2] = (3)
(4) DM: [1d20+2] -> [5,2] = (7)
(4) DM: ATD:
(4) DM: Dieger:
(4) DM: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [8,3] = (11)
(5) Jacob: ooc: fortunately, dwarves have a base move of 20; perfectly matched by a human in medium armor, outpaced by a human in light.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+3] -> [12,3] = (15)
(5) Jacob: ooc: visitors - got to go.
(4) DM: OOC: Ok.
(4) DM: Baelhar catches ATD, with Dieger right behind.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: So Albert, we meet again. Do you not remember me? The one from Q'thalos?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc grapple?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+1] -> [6,1] = (7)
(4) DM: ATD "You!" Fear shows in his eyes. "I should have killed you when I had the chance."
(4) DM: OOC: Str check.
(4) DM: [1d20+2] -> [14,2] = (16)
(4) DM: OOC: For ATD, anyway.
(4) DM: Str check: [1d20+2] -> [11,2] = (13)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (tries to grab the dwarf but slips)
(4) DM: ATD breaks away and pulls out a dagger that glows redly.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc is sist still here
(4) DM: [1d20+3] -> [15,3] = (18)
(4) DM: [1d4+2] -> [4,2] = (6)
(4) DM: Baelhar: AC?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: me? well I'm at 0 hp.
(4) DM: Dieger, attack roll:
(4) DM: Masterwork Rapier Attack Roll: [1d20+4] -> [10,4] = (14)===> DMG: [1d6+2] -> [4,2] = (6)
(4) DM: ATD drops, clutching his chest.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (staggers back as the dagger slashes him in the torso and falls down).
(4) DM: OOC: You're not dead yet; dead is -10. We'll pause and wait for Jack to come back with the healing spells.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc heh heh knew that
(4) DM: OOC: Most dangerous combat round yet. :D
(2) Stisnera: (Would potions work?)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc I need to get more ac for my monk. problem is I don't wear armor.
(4) DM: OOC: Yep.
Jake casts Cure Light Wounds ( level 1, "Target recovers 1d8 health +1 per caster level (max +5)." )
Jake can cast Cure Light Wounds 0 more times
(2) Stisnera: (I have some then)
(5) Jacob: [1d8+1] -> [5,1] = (6)
(4) DM: Dieger "We may want to question him." *Points at ATD*
(2) Stisnera: *Goes down with the rest of them* Seems like you had some fun.
(5) Jacob: ooc: just stopping by - can't stay.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (stands up). Magic never ceases to amaze me.
(4) DM: Dieger goes back to the office to look for some rope.
(4) DM: And bandages.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (takes red glowing dagger from Dwarf)
(4) DM: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+0] -> [2,0] = (2)
(2) Stisnera: Now, Elven fool, you might not wish to run so blindly. What if it had been an ambush? There would be one less Elf now.
(4) DM: Dieger: "Oh well."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: If you had moved yourself Tiefling rather than rely on your magiks, the Dwarf would have been captured upstairs.
(4) DM: Dieger hears some banging sounds from a closet. Opening it, he finds a dwarf who looks exactly like Albert.
(2) Stisnera: If you had been an archmage, you would have stopped the flow of time, and if...
(7) Baelhar Haruil: And I would not have been stabbed.
(4) DM: Dieger "Uh, guys? You had better look at this."
(4) DM: OOC: And of course, every evil twin has...A good twin! :D
(2) Stisnera: Guys? *Frowns at Dieger*
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol
(4) DM: Dieger "And gal."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Another one... this must be the real clerk.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Or perhaps another brother in arms. Check his neck.
(2) Stisnera: That's better. And don't even think of calling me "walking half-plate".
(4) DM: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+0] -> [2,0] = (2)
(4) DM: Dieger "Don't see anything."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+4] -> [18,4] = (22)
(2) Stisnera: The usual question: is the other dwarf truly dead?
(4) DM: OOC: In this case, the roll doesn't matter...No marks.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc yo I figured out how to roll dice with the button. lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc I was typing it in before lol
(4) DM: Dieger unties this dwarf and ties up the one with marks.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc does baelhar see the neck marks?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc ok nm
(4) DM: ATG "He said he wanted what I had! I don't know why, I'm just a clerk!"
(2) Stisnera: Don't worry, you will get even with him.
(4) DM: ATG "He said I was always more successfull! Why would he do this? I'm just a clerk!"
(7) Baelhar Haruil: The Mayor said you are the treasurer... or at least the man who pays adventurers.
(2) Stisnera: And rescuers by the way.
(4) DM: ATG looks betrayed and disoriented.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (looks around) This is the treasury? Where is the gold?
(4) DM: ATG "Oh, no. This is the treasury office. We don't keep large sums here; those go in the vaults."
(4) DM: He looks releived to have something he understands to talk about.
(2) Stisnera: And, let me guess, the vaults are at the end of that hallway below.
(4) DM: ATG "Well, yes."
(2) Stisnera: I seem to have spotted someone down there. Is that expected?
(4) DM: OOC: ATG...Just like ATD, only not crafty and not evil.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I know what you are thinking. And it is dishonorable.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Robbing a city vault would be theft.
(4) DM: ATG "Besides...Besides...My...brother?"
(2) Stisnera: That thought never crossed my mind. It would be too easy.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: We should inform the sentry upstairs immediately.
(2) Stisnera: Besides your brother indeed. *Hides a smirk*
(7) Baelhar Haruil: What do you plan then Stisnera? I see no reason for us to be lurking here.
(4) DM: ATG "Well, nobody should been down there without the express permission of the mayor and my keys!"
(4) DM: OOC: have been
(4) DM: OOC: And the mayors keys.
(2) Stisnera: *Mutters* Merely wanted to scare him a bit, until he recalled to thank us profusely.
(4) DM: OOC: Type fairy and incoherency fairy.
(4) DM: ATG looks disoriented.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: What is thy name? We shall not harm thee.
(4) DM: ATG "Thank you for finding me."
(2) Stisnera: That might have been a trick of light then, as your brother's assault on us was.
(4) DM: ATG "Albert."
(2) Stisnera: Still, I wonder what he was seeking below.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: The dwarf did tell at least one truth.
(4) DM: ATG "He attacked you?"
(2) Stisnera: He tried to.
(4) DM: ATG "He's always had a bad temper. But not like this!"
(4) DM: ATG is in de-nile.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: So... is it true? Are there many of your brothers?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Are all thy brothers this ill-tempered?
(4) DM: ATG "No. We were all our family had."
(4) DM: ATG "In fact, we have very few relatives."
(2) Stisnera: Dieger, you are so sneaky... Why don't you check below? I have a nasty feeling about all of this.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Your brother said there were many more. Many more Alberts.
(4) DM: ATG looks a bit recovered.
(4) DM: ATG "I didn't thank you!" He pumps everybodies hand. "Thank you!"
(2) Stisnera: Just look for an host of dwarves below, in case there was an ambush somewhere. I don't see why he made a run for the vaults. Don't smell right.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (hesitates, and mimics the handshake awkwardly). Farewell then. Shall we accompany you upstairs? And what of your brother?
(4) DM: ATG "He always wanted a lot of brothers. He always said I was all he had." He looks like he thinks ATD was complimenting him.
(4) DM: Dieger takes a look below.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (mutters to himself)... Many Alberts...
(4) DM: Dieger "Guys and gals?"
(2) Stisnera: How many of them Dieger?
(4) DM: Dieger "Those gang members? They are here!"
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Are they all dwarves?
(4) DM: Dieger "Assorted. Lot's. Coming this way."
(4) DM: Sounds of clashing steel.
(4) DM: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [5,3] = (8)
(2) Stisnera: Close the closet. Now.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: We should take the chokepoint, they will only be able to come one by one!
(4) DM: Dieger retreats into the room, bleeding from his side and fighting profusely.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Stisnera, I would be much obliged! (points to the hole)
(4) DM: Facing him is a male elf with a wicked lightning-bolt scar on the side of his face.
(4) DM: The same symbol is on all the faces.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc uh
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc roll knowledge elven lore
(4) DM: OOC: Who?
(2) Stisnera: Retreat. I will think of something. Dieger, break from the melee.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+6] -> [19,6] = (25)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: if knowledge is a class skill for monk
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc rather
(4) DM: OOC: The lightning bolt symbolizes a wide-spread mafia, with ties to a wide spread of above ground cities and apparently below ground too.
(9) No Name (enter): 13:43
(4) DM: OOC: Cross-class.
(9) No Name (exit): 13:43
(9) No Name (enter): 13:43
(4) DM: Hello, no-name.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc okay forget the +4 then
(4) DM: OOC: Still good enough.
(9) No Name: Yup. Nameless, and that's how I'll stay :D
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (screams out loud) They are members of a cult, we should withdraw!
** (4) DM checks for gloves...one white, one black. And a mirror. **
(4) DM: ATG opens the door to the hallway and yells "Guards! Guards! Bandits with a lightning bolt scar!"
(2) Stisnera: (Any specifics on how to get Dieger out of the melee?)
(4) DM: OOC: Assisted Dex check?
(4) DM: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [15,3] = (18)
(9) No Name: ...
(4) DM: OOC: Well, good enough anyway.
(4) DM: Dieger slips from the meelee.
(2) Stisnera: Dieger, break free. We will have to make a run.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+3] -> [17,3] = (20)
(4) DM: OOC: Dex checks (DC 15) to get out of the room.
(2) Stisnera: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [19,3] = (22)
(4) DM: OOC: ATG must beat DC 10, because he's already at the door.
(4) DM: [1d20+2] -> [12,2] = (14)
(4) DM: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [8,3] = (11)
(4) DM: Deiger slams into the doorframe.
(5) Jacob: ooc: who's mister. no name?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (shouts) The door, help me brace it!
(4) DM: OOC: No idea.
(5) Jacob: ooc: shall I throw him out?
(9) No Name: ...I haven't played in forever and already I have forgotten how to do anything on OpenRPG.
(2) Stisnera: Think we can hold them at the door?
(4) DM: OOC: Not unless he's a nuisense.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc is the door at the bottom or at the top
(5) Jacob: ooc: We're in the middle of a session - try the lobby of one of the public servers.
(4) DM: OOC: About ten of them.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc the closet door rather
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc obviously it won't last, but hopefully the guards will come by then
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc is everybody through the closet door?
(4) DM: OOC: The secret door is behind the dresser, we are going out the hallway door, ATG was in the closet.
(9) No Name: Disconnecting from server...
(9) No Name (exit): 13:48
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc okay lol
(4) DM: OOC: Dieger hasn't quite made it. Str check to pull him out?
(2) Stisnera: (Any hope of holding a door with a tower shield and a defensive posture of some sort?)
(2) Stisnera: Str check: [1d20+2] -> [7,2] = (9)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+1] -> [3,1] = (4)
(4) DM: OOC: Yeah, a little confusing.
(4) DM: OOC: The door is pretty narrow, but the hallway is a little wider. Two could squeese side-by-side.
(4) DM: [1d20-1] -> [17,-1] = (16)
(4) DM: Jacob pulls Dieger into the hallway. OOC: (Hope Jack doesn't mind when he comes back...)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (stands at the door) Go ahead call the guards, I will hold them off!
(2) Stisnera: Sure you won't.
(4) DM: ATG continues yelling.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+3] -> [9,3] = (12)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc initiative
(4) DM: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [13,3] = (16)
(2) Stisnera: Dex check: [1d20+3] -> [7,3] = (10)
(4) DM: Cult/Mafia:
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc I hope this guy isn't as strong as albert lol
(4) DM: Mmm...Call it 13 on average.
(2) Stisnera: (These guys. There are... ten of them?)
(4) DM: OOC: The two Alberts have only a +2 strength modifier.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc yeah but aren't they coming one by one through the door
(4) DM: OOC: Ten.
(4) DM: OOC: Yep.
(4) DM: OOC: Should we wait for Jack?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc okay.
(4) DM: OOC: How long?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) Mi'lady, I'd be much obliged if you take the point! (pulls out sling)
(2) Stisnera: (Well, couldn't you play for him? It will be needed, however, especially for healing)
(4) DM: OOC: I could, but he never said I could and if we get his character killed, he will be most annoyed. However, if I give Jacob a nice DM shield...
(4) DM: OOC: Jacob is now un-attackable. :)
(2) Stisnera: (Well, he doesn't have to be at the door. Does he have some ranged weapon? I doubt three of us could fight at the door without killing one another)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc come again, what is your sword especially long?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc we could do the legion thing and stay really close together at the door
(4) DM: OOC: No long range. Guess he just stays back.
(4) DM: Dieger moves up beside Stis.
(4) DM: Masterwork Rapier Attack Roll: [1d20+4] -> [10,4] = (14)===> DMG: [1d6+2] -> [6,2] = (8)
(4) DM: OOC: AC...Call it 14, on average.
(4) DM: The lean Elf in the fore is now dying.
(4) DM: Second C/M...Half-Orc. One attack on Stis...
(4) DM: [1d20+3] -> [1,3] = (4)
(4) DM: OOC: Misses.
(2) Stisnera: (AC is 21)
(4) DM: OOC: BH, your turn.
(4) DM: Dieger, Bandits, Stis, BH.
(2) Stisnera: (BH and Stis rather)
(4) DM: Dieger, Bandits, BH, Stis. :)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Attack: Ranged Sling Attack : [1d20+3] -> [12,3] = (15)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: shoots a pebble at a bandit's head.
(4) DM: Damage?
(2) Stisnera: (1d4 I think)
(2) Stisnera: (From what I have on OpenRPG at any rate)
(4) DM: OOC: Yep, 1d4.
(4) DM: OOC: BH, you there?
(4) DM: OOC: Gotta BRB
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc sorry back
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Damage: [1d4+1] -> [4,1] = (5)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (+1 strength mod right.)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (what a lucky roll lol)
(4) DM: OOC: Back.
(4) DM: The Half-Orc staggers.
(4) DM: Stis?
(2) Stisnera: *Mind Thrust, as she is wont to do* (On the closest foe)
(2) Stisnera: Damage [1d10] -> [4] = (4)
(2) Stisnera: (Grr.)
(4) DM: OOC: Coming through the doorway one at a time, so...
(4) DM: The half-orc falls.
(2) Stisnera: (Incidentally, is it possible to use an item (potion or the like) and attack, or is using these items a full action?)
(4) DM: OOC: Don't you need a concentration roll?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (steps into the doorway)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: : Defensive Posture (+5 AC) : [1d20+1-5] -> [20,1,-5] = (16)
(4) DM: OOC: Potions are a free action.
(4) DM: OOC: Uh...Only two people at a time. And Dieger and Stis are already there.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc damn
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc okay nm
(4) DM: Third bandit, gnome.
(4) DM: This one is actually well-armed, and has one and a half lightning-bolt scars on his face.
(4) DM: [1d20+4] -> [18,4] = (22)
(4) DM: Attacking Dieger.
(2) Stisnera: (Did Dieger act this turn?)
(4) DM: Woop. I was going to have Dieger ready an action to attack the next bandit.
(4) DM: Guess he attacks after.
(2) Stisnera: (Looks like I forgot to roll Concentration. I missed your message.)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: this is confusing, who's turn is it
(2) Stisnera: Concentration Skill Check: [1d20+6] -> [20,6] = (26)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc rather
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol
(4) DM: Bandits turn.
(4) DM: [1d6+0] -> [3,0] = (3)
(4) DM: Dieger grunts.
(4) DM: Masterwork Rapier Attack Roll: [1d20+4] -> [3,4] = (7)===> DMG: [1d6+2] -> [2,2] = (4)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc ohh one and a half scars
(4) DM: Dieger misses.
(4) DM: OOC: You recognize the mark of a 'sargeant'.
(4) DM: OOC: Knowledge roll still somewhat in effect.
(4) DM: OOC: sergeant, rather, I think. (sp)
(2) Stisnera: (Does the same work for Concentration rolls? *Smirks*)
(4) DM: OOC: Nope.
(2) Stisnera: (Not even on critical successes?)
(4) DM: Ok, BH.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Attack: Ranged Sling Attack : [1d20+3] -> [16,3] = (19)
(4) DM: OOC: No critical successes for skills.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: aims his sling with elven precision and looses one at the bandit's chest.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Damage: [1d4+1] -> [4,1] = (5)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: LOL
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc really I didn't cheat lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Damage: [1d4+1] -> [3,1] = (4)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Damage: [1d4+1] -> [4,1] = (5)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Damage: [1d4+1] -> [2,1] = (3)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Damage: [1d4+1] -> [1,1] = (2)
(4) DM: The bandit staggers somewhat.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc I need a bow soon lol
(4) DM: OOC: Or cult/mafia member. Close enough. :)
(2) Stisnera: *Tries to target the bandit behind the gnome* (Is it possible?)
(4) DM: Stis.
(4) DM: OOC: Don't think a gnome would block LOS.
(2) Stisnera: *Then does so* *Mind Thrust!*
(4) DM: Hmmm...Human C/M. One scar.
(2) Stisnera: [1d10] -> [9] = (9)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d4+4] -> [1,4] = (5)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc whops sorry
(4) DM: The fourth bandit falls.
(4) DM: Dieger.
(4) DM: Masterwork Rapier Attack Roll: [1d20+4] -> [8,4] = (12)===> DMG: [1d6+2] -> [2,2] = (4)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (shouts) Albert where the hell are those guards!
(4) DM: Misses.
(4) DM: You hear some running sounds behind you.
(2) Stisnera: We are doing fine here, don't worry.
(4) DM: OOC: Their scheduled in. :)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc and will arrive in the nik of time no doubt
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc or after the fireworks
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol
(2) Stisnera: *Yells* We urge you to flee at once. Reinforcements are coming, and we are more than a match for you. Flee, lest your minds are blasted, as two of your... colleagues can testify.
(4) DM: And the tenth bandit squeezes into the room, ducking to avoid hitting his head on the cieling. Two lightning-bolt scars...And he's an ogre.
(4) DM: OOC: Yep, nick of time.
(2) Stisnera: (Do we *see* the Ogre? I will target him then)
(2) Stisnera: (Or her)
(4) DM: OOC: Easily.
(4) DM: [1d20+4] -> [16,4] = (20)
(4) DM: [1d6+0] -> [4,0] = (4)
(4) DM: Dieger staggers.
(2) Stisnera: Elven folk, you might wish to replace Dieger on the front. He doesn't seem able to hold them.
(4) DM: Dieger staggers backward and waves BH forward.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (pulls out his staff and runs up to Dieger)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: : Defensive Posture (+5 AC) : [1d20+1-5] -> [4,1,-5] = (0)
(4) DM: Ok, BH.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol
(2) Stisnera: (Was that a full action? I will assume so)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (well running up was a move action)
(2) Stisnera: *Mind Thrust the closest foe this time. There is still plenty of time to deal with the Ogre*
(2) Stisnera: [1d10] -> [7] = (7)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (okay if you want to nitpick I can't pull that off this turn lol)
(4) DM: Third C/M falls. The other C/M move backwards and begin pulling out range weapons.
(4) DM: And the guards arrive.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (goes prone to avoid being hit)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (and pulls out his sling)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: shouts, "The bandits!"
(4) DM: The nick of time arrives...
(2) Stisnera: *Sees who's next in line*
(4) DM: With lot's of guards, most fit for duty, with the fussy clerk puffing behind them.
(4) DM: Dieger pulls BH into the hallway.
(4) DM: Str check: [1d20+2] -> [17,2] = (19)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+1] -> [3,1] = (4)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc can't I forgo the roll if I want him to pull me?
(4) DM: Ok, Ogre. Charges.
(4) DM: OOC: Yep. You're pulled.
(2) Stisnera: (Whose turn is it?)
(4) DM: BH's, from a prone position.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Attack: Ranged Sling Attack : [1d20+3] -> [19,3] = (22)
(4) DM: Fussy clerk "Guards, attack the ones with the lightning bolt scars."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Damage: [1d4+1] -> [2,1] = (3)
(4) DM: OOC: -4 on the attack with a sling from a prone position. (DM ruling) Still hits.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Baelhar looses another pebble, and mumbles something to himself about arrows.
(2) Stisnera: Don't kill the weaklings though. We need them to block the passage.
(4) DM: The ogre laughs.
(4) DM: OOC: Guards will act next round. Ranged, I suppose.
(4) DM: Stis.
(2) Stisnera: *Uses a psychic stone (dull gray, +1 psychic point), and Mind Thrusts the Ogre*
(2) Stisnera: [1d10] -> [8] = (8)
(4) DM: The ogre growls "Think you can hurt ME?"
(4) DM: Dieger.
(2) Stisnera: Think you can hurt me through seven inches of steel or so? *Spits on the closest bandit*
(4) DM: Masterwork Rapier Attack Roll: [1d20+4] -> [2,4] = (6)===> DMG: [1d6+2] -> [1,2] = (3)
(4) DM: Dieger misses. Bad roll fairy?
(2) Stisnera: (Dieger was born to fail rolls.)
(4) DM: Bandits...
(4) DM: [1d20] -> [12] = (12)
(2) Stisnera: Fire away at them, but let them hinder one another, and take that ogre down.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc bandits get the -4 too lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc if they are still using ranged
(4) DM: [1d20] -> [9] = (9)
(4) DM: OOC: Yeah, so one less.
(4) DM: OOC: Yep.
(4) DM: [1d20-1] -> [9,-1] = (8)
(4) DM: [1d20-1] -> [6,-1] = (5)
(4) DM: [1d20-1] -> [3,-1] = (2)
(4) DM: OOC: Those bandits are sucking...
(4) DM: Several arrows fly at the ogre over your heads.
(4) DM: OOC: What's the penalty for firing into meelee?
(2) Stisnera: (DM ruling I guess)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc uh -4 unless you hae precise shot feat
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc I think
(2) Stisnera: (On the other hand, there are so many of them an arrow is more likely to hit someone. Or is it?)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc that ogre is blocking their way more than helping lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc it better not have 30 strength though lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc naw, the arrows still have plenty of room to go wide, the ogre is blocking their way, and the people they are shooting at are prone (me)
(4) DM: OOC: Ok, one less than the bandits, for being out of shape.
(2) Stisnera: (Well, I am hoping it will be delayed for a while. If it has a nice attack roll... I will have some trouble.)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc and stis has her shield
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol out of shape ogre
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc even an out of shape ogre has a... +4 racial bonus to strength?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: oof lets get fighting
(4) DM (exit): 14:33
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc ooof
(7) Baelhar Haruil: damn
(7) Baelhar Haruil: oh well. let's talk space empires. lol.
(2) Stisnera: He should get back. I think.
(2) Stisnera: What did you say about psions being weak incidentally?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I want to open a warp point and go through it on the same turn
(7) Baelhar Haruil: yeah you managed to twink the psion alright lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I should have played by 20 strength half-orc lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: with so much money to go around I wouldn't have to worry about AC lol
(2) Stisnera: I will want to increase my AC by the way... And there is a nice power allowing me to do that. (+1 AC/Saving Throws for now, can increase by one every three power points. Nice.)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: lol
(2) Stisnera: You can open a wormhole and warp on the same turn.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: well if Narf gave some more stat points
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I would have gone 18 dex 18 wis
(10) DM (enter): 14:35
(7) Baelhar Haruil: yes, how do I do so
(10) DM: Sorry, my internet cord came loose.
(2) Stisnera: (Welcome back. Last message was: OOC: Ok, one less than the bandits...)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc okay game is on
(10) DM: OOC: Then I said the doorway wasn't that high. The guards all missed, too. Don't ask me how. :)
(10) DM: Ogre...
(10) DM: [1d20+3] -> [18,3] = (21)
(10) DM: OOC: And attacking...
(10) DM: [1d2] -> [1] = (1)
(10) DM: Stis.
(10) DM: OOC: AC?
(2) Stisnera: *Psychic stone and Mind Thrust on the Ogre*
(2) Stisnera: [1d10] -> [3] = (3)
(2) Stisnera: (21)
(10) DM: OOC: Not your turn. You're being attacked.
(10) DM: OOC: That's a hit, then.
(2) Stisnera: (My mistake)
(10) DM: [1d8+2] -> [2,2] = (4)
(10) DM: OOC: Whoops. 2d8. 8HP damage.
(2) Stisnera: (Hmm, that would be annoying. I hope Jacob is around with his healing spells...)
(10) DM: A whistle sounds from up the hidden passage. The ogre throws something to the ground and smoke billows out. Reflex check.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+3] -> [18,3] = (21)
(2) Stisnera: (I have exactly 8 HP)
(10) DM: BH Does not breath the smoke. However, he still can't see past five feet. He does, however, see the ogre leave his range of vision.
(10) DM: Dieger pours one of Stis's healing potions down her throat.
(10) DM: Reflex save: [1d20+6] -> [2,6] = (8)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc sure I can I have low-light vision
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol unless the smoke is really thick
(2) Stisnera: Reflex save: [1d20+3] -> [7,3] = (10)
(10) DM: OOC: Or, um, Dieger starts coughing.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc is that really a reflex save or more like a fort save lol
(10) DM: OOC: Well, ten feet. Any other bandits you can see are also leaving.
(10) DM: OOC: It's not really damaging, so...
(2) Stisnera: (You mean I got badly hurt on their very last attack because of two narrow rolls? *Glowers*)
(2) Stisnera: (That was my luck)
(10) DM: OOC: Stis is not breathing much and isn't really affected.
(10) DM: You hear the hidden door close.
(10) DM: Dieger shuts the door to the room and pulls Stis back some, then pours one of her healing potions down her throat.
(10) DM: [1d8+0] -> [8,0] = (8)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (shouts) They're getting away!
(2) Stisnera: That Ogre sure hurt. Thanks Dieger.
(10) DM: OOC: And Stis's earlier lack of luck is entirely made up.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol I'm growing more and more unelfish all the time
(2) Stisnera: (Ironically, my other question was about whether I could get one more AC point. It looks like it was more important than I thought.)
(2) Stisnera: About time you showed up, the guard.
(2) Stisnera: Now, if someone would help me remove my darn armour? My arm feels hurt. That Ogre didn't kid when it hit me.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (moves through the smoke looking for survivors)
(10) DM: OOC: Just a moment, getting my thoughts together.
(10) DM: OOC: No survivers, no dead.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (shouts) Hurry Stisnera, perhaps we can go after the beast!
(10) DM: OOC: Ok, together.
(10) DM: Fussy clerk "This is most irregular! Most irregular! Yes, we must pursue them at once!"
(2) Stisnera: *You* will.
(2) Stisnera: I stay here. Tired. Hurt.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (looks back) Yes, you are wise. Perhaps it is best to let the heavily armed guard go after the Ogre.
(10) DM: Dieger leans against a wall.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Where is Jacob? His healing magik would be useful.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I am sorry friends, this is the best I can do.
(10) DM: The guards pull masks over their faces and pursue the M/C.
(10) DM: Jacob heals Dieger.
(10) DM: [1d8+0] -> [2,0] = (2)
(10) DM: Slightly.
(10) DM: OOC: Forgot about him.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+3] -> [13,3] = (16)
(2) Stisnera: Did you see the dead?
(10) DM: The fussy clerk puffs after them, robe held over his face.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: attempts to perform first aid.
(2) Stisnera: A few of'em got killed.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: No. They are no dead, or at least they do not leave their dead behind. When the smoke clears we may examine the area more closely perhaps.
(10) DM: ATG says "I fear it will be futile. They could only have been robbing the treasury, somehow."
(10) DM: OOC: In regards to the pursuit.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: They may simply have been and pulled out by their comrades.
(10) DM: ATG looks composed now, although sorrowfull.
(10) DM: OOC: Huh?
(2) Stisnera: There will be fewer of them anyway.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc isn't there a lot of smoke. lol.
(2) Stisnera: Why would they bother to bring their dead with them, while running away? Looks fishy.
(10) DM: Dieger "Not really. A city this size would need more than a few too rob it's treasury.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I have heard of magiks that allow a mage to teleport his minions away from battle.
(10) DM: Startled yells come up the passageway.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: The lightning bolt is a mark of a powerful clan. This is not beyond their abilities.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc the mark rather
(2) Stisnera: I don't know about you, but I am getting out of here fast for now.
(10) DM: OOC: Ok, I think you've pulled enough out of that knowledge check. :)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol
(2) Stisnera: If you want to fight their ogre and half their throng, be my guest though.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: No, it is time to leave. What about the guard though?
(10) DM: No sounds of battle comes up the passegeway, although a guard does.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Look here comes one now.
(2) Stisnera: They are trained, paid and expected to do that sort of things.
(2) Stisnera: Stand on your guard. Could be a trap.
(10) DM: Guard "Clerk said to tell you you'd get 100gp each for anything you know about those guys."
(10) DM: OOC: The guard does not have any lightning-bolt scars.
(2) Stisnera: And nothing for having saved the clerk, and helped you, and...?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to guard) I recognized the mark on one of their faces. It is the mark of a powerful clan, or what you humens call "mafia". I know no more.
(10) DM: Guard "There's only 350gp left. fifty's coming out of his savings."
(2) Stisnera: Don't call on us to help you next time.
(10) DM: The guard hands BH 100gp.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to guard) as well, they seem highly organized, coordinated with purpose, and not mere bandits interested in gold.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to guard) We discovered a duplicate of Albert, one of his brothers, who was aiding the bandits in their misdeed.
(10) DM: Guard "Oh yeah." Hands you a letter of credit worth 800gp. "I'm afraid it's not worth much now, but the taxes will be in in a few months."
(10) DM: Guard "He told me to give you that, too."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to guard) What if we recover the stolen gold?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (takes letter)
(2) Stisnera: Just tell your craftsmen to offer us *something* of our choice worth that amount of gold.
(10) DM: OOC: Must collect thoughts.
(10) DM: Guard "All the valuable items were in the vault, too. Albert has a brother?"
(10) DM: Guard "There might be some stuff in store-rooms. Albert, you keep track of that, don't you?"
(2) Stisnera: *Nods to Dieger* Recall about our stroll?
(10) DM: ATG "Yes, we may be able to find something suitable."
(10) DM: Dieger "Yes"."
(2) Stisnera: Do you share my thought?
(10) DM: Dieger "Yes. Later, though."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to guard) Yes, there is a man who looks like Albert. We can all vouch for him, this is the true Albert the dwarf. You can tell by checking the marks on his neck... my apologies.
(2) Stisnera: Of course.
(10) DM: OOC: That would be lack of marks on neck.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to guard) The other Albert, the one with the neck marks, was responsible for aiding the bandits.
(2) Stisnera: Nothing tells you it is the true Dwarf. He could be a third one.
(10) DM: Guard "He said he'd been attacked by a dog."
(2) Stisnera: We know of *two* Alberts, but cannot say for sure he is the good one.
(2) Stisnera: (He is *a* good one, or the genuine one instead)
(10) DM: Guard "I don't know about that. I just do what I'm told."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: How about you follow us then?
(2) Stisnera: If I were you, I would keep a very close watch on this Alfred, and any other Alfred-Dwarf I can put my hands on.
(10) DM: OOC: Albert.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I know that you guards are not too well paid. If you follow us, we shall split the treasure when we recover it from the bandits.
(10) DM: The guard nods dubiously.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Give us ten men and supplies, and we shall chase the bandits down.
(10) DM: The fussy clerk puffs up the passage.
(2) Stisnera: You. You. And you. Speak for you Elf, or else.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (looks at Stisnera) But what about the coin Tiefling?
(2) Stisnera: (Albert indeed)
(10) DM: FS "Supplies? Men? Certainly. The treasury must be recovered at all costs. And I shall accompany you. Albert, you shall come too."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Of course... we will need to go heavily armed. And we shall need to see the town cleric to mend our wounds.
(10) DM: FS "One-eighth of the treasury shall be yours when we recover it."
(2) Stisnera: Forget it then.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps we can have a look at the town armory after we see the medicine-man.
(10) DM: FS "One-eighth is certainly more than you could ever spend."
(10) DM: OOC: FS is getting down to haggling.
(2) Stisnera: And how much is one eighth anyway?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Sense Motive.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [1d20+6] -> [8,6] = (14)
(2) Stisnera: (Well, the motive is quite clear: money, for both sides)
(10) DM: ATG"There was twenty thousand, five hundred and twenty-three gold in the treasure at last count."
(2) Stisnera: So that gives... Barely four thousand.
(10) DM: OOC: Yep. No hidden motives detected.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Two Thousand coin certainly sounds more than enough. Perhaps we could do this as a service to the town.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: For free.
(10) DM: OOC: 2,500.
(2) Stisnera: Of course, for free. What else?
(10) DM: FS "Oh, we must pay you something. Two thousand, five hundred is more than enough."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol 25 / 8 is around 4 lol guess elf boy is bad at math too
(2) Stisnera: (20, not 25. 20/8 is indeed 2.5)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: But why. We could parade ourselves around town. Why, we would be saviours.
(10) DM: OOC: twenty thousand, five hundred. Not 25,000.
(10) DM: Dieger "I have no use for a parade."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Stisnera could even run for the mayoralty after such a feat. Ridding the town of the scourge of the lightning men.
(2) Stisnera: If you call being in a coffin and headed for your mortuary to be a saviour, then sure.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: We would go door to door, telling the common folk how we were paid nothing to accomplish this deed!
(2) Stisnera: Ten thousand gold. Or five, and equipement.
(2) Stisnera: (Equipment)
(10) DM: FS "One sixth. And 300gp in equipment, for all of you.""
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Equipment would be little use to us once we are the town's heroes. Of course... if there was incentive... we could leave the town early.
(2) Stisnera: 300 gold? Are you kidding? I would barely afford a bow for that price, let alone decent armour.
(5) Jacob: ooc: What'd I miss?
(10) DM: FS "One seventh. And 500gp in equipment."
(2) Stisnera: See, I could take down five of them without breaking a sweat in inadequate armour. Had it been a true masterwork, I would have killed that Ogre too.
(10) DM: OOC: Lot's...Lightning-bolt mafia, evil Albert, good Albert...
(2) Stisnera: You know, you are supposed to improve your offer when haggling, not the other way around.
(2) Stisnera: One seventh is worse than one sixth, and 200 more gold pieces simply don't cut it.
(10) DM: FS "One seventh. And 400gp in equipment each."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps we should go to the Mayor.
(2) Stisnera: I have something better to offer. Our Elf doesn't want any gold. Is that fine with you?
(10) DM: FS "That is 1600 more in equipment."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: We would tell him about how incompetent the guards are.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Do not prejudge me Stisnera. I require lodging and rations the same as any other being.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps we should all reject the gold
(7) Baelhar Haruil: and do the task for free
(2) Stisnera: Fine. 100 gold then for you, the rest for us.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: and have the citizenry worship us.
(2) Stisnera: And fetch the moon.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Are you haggling with me or the guard Stisnera?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Yes, well they would love us. And you would not want that, would you Clerk?
(2) Stisnera: With the clerk, but I was checking if you did have no interest in money. You do.
(2) Stisnera: They would throw a party, and forget us two days later.
(10) DM: FS "One-seventh, 500gp in equiptment each."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps. Perhaps not. There are ways.
(2) Stisnera: I spent two hundred gold on miscelleanous equipment while defeating a mere handful of bandits. Do you think 500 gold will get me anywhere?
(10) DM: FS "Ok." *Shrugs*
(7) Baelhar Haruil: How about this Clerk. Spare us fifty men and horses, and we shall bring the bandits to you in charity.
(10) DM: FS "I guess you don't want to go."
(2) Stisnera: At the very least, more money before we go, and that might work.
(2) Stisnera: What use would be gold *after* we have defeated them?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Give us fifty men, and we shall join the fight for food and lodging.
(5) Jacob: Stis, has it occured to you that he might have limited funds available for hiring those such as ourselves?
(2) Stisnera: An army while you are at it.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: The less men you are able to spare, the less it will cost.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc the more it will cost rather
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol
(2) Stisnera: He has more than twenty thousand gold pieces stolen, so that isn't exactly "limited funds" to me.
(2) Stisnera: And craftsmen can always work for free.
(5) Jacob: ooc: I'm telling you - it's transmission error.
(10) DM: FS "Guards, give these the rest of this" Hands over a limp bag, all that's left of the treasury "And escort them out."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: And why not? This town is rather prosperous to have a treasury of twenty five thousand coin.
(10) DM: OOC: And the fussy clerk told you that there was only 350gp left.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Fine. Take us to the Mayor guard.
(10) DM: Guards "Come with us, please."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Perhaps we will tell him about your failure to guard the treasury.
(10) DM: You are lead to the mayors office.
(2) Stisnera: *Looks at the window, just in case*
(5) Jacob: follows to mayor's office
(10) DM: Guard in lead "These people claim we're incompotent."
(10) DM: Mayor "Well, throw them out, then."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Mayor, we need fifty men and horses to reclaim the town's fortune.
(10) DM: Guard "Ok."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: There were at least ten bandits that broke into the treasury along with an ogre.
(10) DM: Mayor "Rediculous. Why are these people still here?"
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Their base may have many, many more perils.
(2) Stisnera: *Leaves on her own*
(10) DM: OOC: You guys just want everything, don't you. :P
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc lol
(10) DM: Guards "Come with us, please."
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc if there's fifty bandits at the base...
(10) DM: The guards lead you outside.
(5) Jacob: Follows gaurd outside.
(10) DM: OOC: Oh, please. It would have required several adventure arcs.
(2) Stisnera: (How many guards?)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: (to Stisnera) We will recover the treasure on our own then friend.
(10) DM: OOC: Lots.
(2) Stisnera: Don't insult me.
(2) Stisnera: (Ah.)
(5) Jacob: Consider - If we take the gold from the bandits, we do the town a favor (as there are no more bandits) and can quietly keep the gold ourselves
(10) DM: OOC: Personally, I thought the offer was reasonable.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc I don't see why not. the town should be pissed.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc the entire town should be going out with torches to the bandit's lair right now, its their tax dollars stolen lol
(5) Jacob: After all, they didn't hire us to retrieve the gold.
(2) Stisnera: My thought Jacob.
(2) Stisnera: That was why I turned down their offer. And ther's more to it. But hush.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: We will not have the assistance of the guard however.
(5) Jacob: ooc: by the way - have we had a nights rest (so I can refresh Jacob's spells)
(10) DM: OOC: Not yet. And I have to go, so...
(2) Stisnera: Hush.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: We could have had at least a dozen men heavily armed with horses accompany us.
(10) DM: ----END----
(2) Stisnera: (Hmm, out of curiosity... Any future trouble with the guard?)
(10) DM: OOC: That depends.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc obviously. They will try and get gold themselves.
(5) Jacob: You can skip the () now, as Narf did the ---END--- thing.
(2) Stisnera: (Are they still with us?)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ooc yeah, and if they had 50 men they wouldn't need us. lol
(2) Stisnera: (It's an habit settling in Jacob, I think)
(10) DM: Some of them are watching you, the rest went inside.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: didn't we try and bribe the guard
(2) Stisnera: With your seven gold pieces?
(2) Stisnera: :)
(10) DM: Not that I noticed.
(2) Stisnera: Coins.
(10) DM: I was trying to get you guys into the plot. :/
(7) Baelhar Haruil: lets hrie a lot of meatshields for the next fight
(7) Baelhar Haruil: we'll go to the tavern, hire some musclemen, and rent horses and kick arse
(5) Jacob: Do you happen to know what competent muscle costs?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: no. how much?
(2) Stisnera: Hmm... where are the bandits on a sidenote?
(2) Stisnera: Side note.
(10) DM: You don't know yet.
(2) Stisnera: In other words, do we know it? I think we don't.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: we should have taken the guard's offer
(7) Baelhar Haruil: it would have been a piece of cake
(7) Baelhar Haruil: with a dozen NPC's following us
(2) Stisnera: Do you think any adventure would have been a piece of cake? Barring too much luck that is.
(10) DM: Have to look up the cohort section. In the meantime, must go.
(10) DM: Disconnecting from server...
(10) DM (exit): 15:23
(7) Baelhar Haruil: ok later
(7) Baelhar Haruil: well it all is a piece of cake
(2) Stisnera: Hmm, looks like the session lasted twice as long as usual.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: this is more casual than anything
(7) Baelhar Haruil: narf is never going to let us die
(2) Stisnera: (And I am supposed to have an unreliable connection and things)
(2) Stisnera: Don't best your life on it. ;)
(2) Stisnera: Don't bet.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: if Baelhar dies, I can make my 20 strength half-orc barbarian lol
(5) Jacob: Hey now, you almost did, Baelhar. In combat, you can't really hand someone else a potion.
(2) Stisnera: I almost did myself Jacob. Two unlucky rolls that barely made it.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: stis asked GM, GM ruling I guess.
(2) Stisnera: (Attack roll of 21 against my AC 21, and 8 damage point for my 8 hitpoints. Grr.)
(5) Jacob: Umm, Baelhar: What's your character's HP?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: 6.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: well look, a monk gets 8 hp max, -2 since I'm elfy.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I only have 15 ac
(5) Jacob: Is your constitution that low?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I wasn't expecting to have plate mail available at level 1 lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: yeah, 6 con.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I get floored with one lucky hit
(5) Jacob: Yikes.
(5) Jacob: Well, I suppose I ought to turn the server off now.
(2) Stisnera: Awful indeed.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I will just have to stay behind with a bow until I level
(2) Stisnera: Well, one last question: what do we do now? Hmm...
(5) Jacob: That's about what Jake did.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Tactical Mastery: (move action, +6 to attack or defense of allies, move action, DC = 15 + number of allies affected) Knowledge Tactics Check : [1d20 + 16 + 3 + 1] -> [14,16,3,1] = (34)
(5) Jacob: Well, storyline wise, we could ask around town and investigate where the bandits hole up.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Yes
(7) Baelhar Haruil: we also need
(7) Baelhar Haruil: to hire muscle
(7) Baelhar Haruil: even stupid muscle
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I have 6 hp, its just not going to cut it.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: how much gold do you guys have?
(2) Stisnera: Well, AC would be better here. If they don't hit you, you are fine. (I can give Concealment 20%)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: how the hell do you do that lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: invisibility?
(5) Jacob: He's a Psion. It's more of a blurr effect.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: where is the spell improved invisibility btw
(5) Jacob: Jacob has around 100 GP available.
(2) Stisnera: I haven't quite made up the maths, but a few hundred gold coins. I need a lot of these for potions/psionic stones though.
(2) Stisnera: It is the Darkness racial ability of Tieflings.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Well here's my plan.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: We go to the local tavern, start spreading rumors about how incompetent the mayor and guards are
(7) Baelhar Haruil: people start getting pissed off
(2) Stisnera: At us.
(5) Jacob: And then chase us to the bandits?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: then we go with the mob to town hall and run the mayor out of town
(7) Baelhar Haruil: and become lords of the land
(5) Jacob: Yeah, anyone have a good Charisma score? Bluff skill? Diplomacy?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: then we get our 100 level 1 guys in plate armor to chase after the bandits
(7) Baelhar Haruil: no maybe no
(2) Stisnera: Bluff and diplomacy here (trained, but poor Charisma).
(7) Baelhar Haruil: maybe I should make a sorcerer just for that
(7) Baelhar Haruil: lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: here's what we can do
(7) Baelhar Haruil: we can get rid of all the eternal flame spells in town
(2) Stisnera: Well, we could take the clerk's offer as well, if only to get information. If we are alone, nothing prevents us from not getting back there. Well, besides ethics and the like.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: then they won't have food and will have to come begging to use for our one torch
(2) Stisnera: (I wouldn't dare that scheme though)
(5) Jacob: True Neutral this time round.
(2) Stisnera: I have +2 on Bluff by the way (+3 in total).
(7) Baelhar Haruil: well bluff is wisdom right
(7) Baelhar Haruil: so I would have 4 + 3 bluff
(5) Jacob: Stealing all the light is a bad idea. Think about it - if we are the only ones with a long-term light source, we are the most visible, and obviously the culprits.
(2) Stisnera: Charisma.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: okay 4 - 1 (are you sure lol)
(2) Stisnera: Bluff Skill Check: [1d20+3] -> [14,3] = (17)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: okay one more half-baked plan
(7) Baelhar Haruil: we go macho ourselves hope narf's cave of bandits is full of pushovers and get 25k gold all to ourselves!
(2) Stisnera: I think getting their support might be better. You can always argue about hysteria from Stis.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: lets test out whether narf is willing to kill us
(5) Jacob: *sigh* better to find the place, then pick off the gaurds one night at a time in surprise attacks.
(2) Stisnera: A Tiefling going hysteric after having overloaded her mind, being nearly killed, and killed a few people would be fairly believable.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: sure, but how many can go like that? we could all use bows and shoot from high up positions
(5) Jacob: That is, if a bandit camp bothers to post gaurds. If not, sneak in and assasinate them one at a time.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: yes. we should do that.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: we're getting all 25k gold
(7) Baelhar Haruil: lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: after that we'll be able to hire all the muscle we want
(7) Baelhar Haruil: and put into place our master plan
(2) Stisnera: Don't forget about the rest of the guard, however. That, and we would be obvious culprits.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: we'll change our alignments to chaotic evil and enslave the town
(5) Jacob: Don't hire muscle - especially not lots of muscle. It's hard for the GM to manage 10 NPC's at a time.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: with 25k gold we'll be able to hire a ton of muscle and take over the town
(2) Stisnera: And I am the Tiefling arguing to respect the law. Odd.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: we could treat them as one entity.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: [100d20+6] -> [11,11,2,13,10,17,11,4,13,7,10,19,17,8,19,10,3,1,4,14,14,18,12,11,10,19,18,19,7,8,7,8,8,18,6,19,10,18,9,6,5,19,6,18,19,1,14,16,11,8,11,12,15,9,4,18,1,4,9,20,11,5,18,5,7,14,3,18,7,1,14,18,7,8,12,17,12,14,12,12,20,5,20,8,12,5,6,15,18,3,10,16,17,12,5,10,17,4,13,17,6] = (1123)
(5) Jacob: There's a catch to that - you can only hire what's available. And the GM sets availability.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: We'll hire disgruntled townsfolk who are mad that the town's leaders are so incompetent.
(5) Jacob: Which means there are probably less than 5 people willing to hire themselves out as soldiers. No taking over the town.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: half the town must be in an uproar.
(5) Jacob: Uproar and revolt are very different things.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: we'll try anyway and fight and die
(2) Stisnera: The guard seems competent. The mayor isn't.
(5) Jacob: Jacob is a little wiser than that. (18 wisdom) and would likely not go along with such a hairbrained scheme.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: so is Baelhar but hey
(5) Jacob: Which means you would be lacking a renewable source of healing.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: we got the glowing red dagger right?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: maybe it made us possessed by demon from the hell depths of the underworld
(5) Jacob: Would that be Jacob's?
(2) Stisnera: And the clerks could be up to something; we aren't rid of the guard either.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: anyway I'm not serious
(7) Baelhar Haruil: but I am serious about hiring a half-orc with 18 con.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: there has to be one around.
(5) Jacob: If so, it's a flaming dagger, from continual flame, in an area where such a spell is very, very common.
(2) Stisnera: (There are still some of us following us, and I think the guard would not like seeing us steal their treasure. Well, not technically steal)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: better yet, a dwarf with 20 con
(7) Baelhar Haruil: well lets turn around and try nad bribe them next time
(7) Baelhar Haruil: lol
(2) Stisnera: With your seven gold coins again?
(7) Baelhar Haruil: don't worry I won't do any of this in charater, that's not what lawful good characters do.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: its actually not seven
(7) Baelhar Haruil: its 0 gold 3 sp 1 cp
(2) Stisnera: Ah.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I thought that
(7) Baelhar Haruil: Albert's dagger was special
(7) Baelhar Haruil: was it just a dagger with continual flame cast on it?
(2) Stisnera: It was, I think. Not sure what sort of spell it is though.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: anyway
(5) Jacob: Jacob's was. Useful for lighting the way - put it into a belt shieth and have both hands free.
(2) Stisnera: (Probably nothing too dangerous given the good it did to him)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: so
(7) Baelhar Haruil: think about the 20 con dwarf
(5) Jacob: Jacob has a flame spell available - 1d6+1 ranged touch attack. However, it takes up one of the same slots as the Cure Light Wounds.
(5) Jacob: And it takes two turns - one to summon, one to throw.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: baelhar seems not cut out for the task. to get 20 ac I have to take -5 on my attack roll.
(2) Stisnera: *Boasts about the 1d10 spell, not requiring any hit roll, though negated by Will* (It can increase by 1d10 every level)
(7) Baelhar Haruil: I will have to either become a long range specialist, or get Baelhar killed and make a more reasonable char.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: automatic hit?
(5) Jacob: Actually, that's fine - stick out in front, dodging, and let those in the rear handle artilary.
(2) Stisnera: It is mental, so yes. The DC (Will) is 16 for now.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: that's a load of horse dung lol
(7) Baelhar Haruil: how high of a level do you need to get +6 will save bonus
(5) Jacob: Yeah, but if Stis gets hurt, she's in deep trouble, unless she wishes to spend good golds on temporary stuff.
(5) Jacob: Depends on class. With 18 wisdom, a cleric or Druid starts with +6 will save.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: avg roll would be 10
(5) Jacob: A dwarf gets an extra +1 (or was it +2) save to any spell or spell-like effect.
(2) Stisnera: Well, I am investing in AC for that purpose (currently 21, perhaps 22 with a change in armour, and 23 with the best armour money can buy. Then I will have to use that nice power to increase a bit more). She is not a fighter, however, and still vulnerable. A shame.
(5) Jacob: Welll, noones said anything, so I'm turning off the server.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: how can a fighter get more AC than what you guys are getting?
(2) Stisnera: Good... afternoon (I think) to you then.
(7) Baelhar Haruil: you guys are basically wearing all the equipment that a fighter would have... and then using magic to get even more AC lol
Game disconnected!
