Charlie Exit (Fictional)*
2 miles inland from Omaha Beach, June 1944*
*
US Army assault vs Germany defence*
Scenario Size: Small*
*
After the longest of nights, Lt Colonel McGhee had gathered most of his paratroop company and set out for his first objective. After a short fight for Hill 101, McGhee settled into his make shift headquarters at Ortiffe Farm. His next assignment lay just yards away to the west; secure Charlie Exit. Charlie Exit was vital to funnel units inland from Omaha Beach two miles to the rear.*
*
McGhee was aware of a possible German gun emplacement on Hill 107 but other than that, his intel was a guess at best. At the briefing in England before the drop, he was told that most German units in this area were not at full strength. He hoped this was accurate. In order to clear Charlie Exit, McGhee knew he must clear the bocage that lay between him and the ironically named Calme Forest to the northwest. It would not be an easy task. Luckily, a battalion support mortar section had dropped far from their formation and McGhee quickly recruited them to help cover his attack. Their high explosive shells would be useful for the coming attack but their smoke ammo could play a more critical role.*
*
With B Platoon already assembled, D Platoon close by and C Platoon soon to join up from mopping up Hill 101, McGhee put his plan into action. Time was short as German armor was reported to be forming for a counter attack.*

Orders:*
As Lt Colonel McGhee, you are to secure Charlie Exit. Specifically you are to:*
1. Secure the bocage NW of Ortiffe Farm by controlling all of the victory hexes (ensure they remain under US control).*
2. Clear the suspected German gun emplacement on Hill 107 of all enemy units.*
3. Secure Charlie Exit from German armor counter attack by exiting a towed 57mm ATG off map through the Charlie Exit victory hex. A towed 57mm ATG arrives on turns 10 and 12.*
*
Victory Conditions:*
The importance of securing Charlie Exit requires all orders to be successfully carried out. Secondary importance is placed on reducing German opposition in the area. A Victory is attained if all three orders are completed. A Draw is attained if one or more orders are not completed but the US Player attains more victory points than the German Player. Failure to attain a Victory or Draw is a Defeat.*
