Israel assault vs. Egypt defence*
*
Sinai*
*
October 2010*
*
Scenario Backround- After a few days of combat, Egyptian 1st rate forces were beated and destroyed in Sinai on route to the Israeli border. Unfortunatly Israel has suffered heavy casualties, espcially in tanks and other AFVs. In order to cause the Egyptian forces in Sinay to surrender, IDF Southern Command has decided to break-through and reach the Suez.Lacking in AFVs, the Israelis must use other units to allow the brekathrough. You command ATF "Kadesh"- and your orders are to break through with minimum losses*
*
Goal- 226th Armored Brigade will breakthrough Egyptian forces in its sector and reach the Suez Cannal with sufficient forces to encircle Eyptian forces behind it.*
*
Mission- ATF "Kadesh" will take the intersection of Sholef and Gome routes by H+5, in order to allow 226th Brigade to pass through safely and advance south-west.*
*
Terrain- The area is flat and the ground is completely passable for AFVs. The intersection of Sholef-Gome is in the small town of Dir El-Assad.Egyptian forces have built an arrey of small fortified compounds, AT trenches, and mines. *
*
OPPOSING FORCE- The intersection and fortifications around it are held by an Egyptian Re-enforced Bettalion sized force. This force includes at least 2 tank companies, a recon Co, and some other elements*
*
"Kadesh" Order of Battle- Kadesh is divided to two forces: 1-"Kadesh Heavy" is an Armored Team consisting of 1 downsized Tank Co, 1 Mech Co, and an Arm-Engineers Plt. "Kadesh Light" consists of 3 heavily armed Sayeret teams that have been helicoptered behind enemy lines. "Kadesh" is supported by 155mm tube artillery, 270mm MLRS, and a fflight of F16s*
*
Remarks- "Kadesh Light" must cause sufficient damage to the Egyptian defeces as to allow "Kadesh Heavy" to take the intersection with minimal losses to AFVs. Those AFVS are priceless right now, keep them safe...*
*
Designer's note: This scenario is meant to be a one-player scenario with the human playing the Israeli side*
