Tank Company*
*
After WW2 Finnish tank companies were equiped with light tanks (T-26, Vickers) or heavier tanks that were mainly captured from the enemy during WW2. There were enough T-34s to equip approximately 1-2 companies.*
*
For some time Finnish tank companies had 11 tanks, one for CO, three platoons of three and a tank for FO section. This FO tank was a Sturmi due to its very good radio equipment (at least compared to anything else Finns had in use). The company also received a Tank Infantry Platoon (Suojajoukkue) that was to provide the tanks with cover against enemy AT teams. As the Finnish SOP during that time was to attach the tank companies to jaeger battalions for fire support, now when the tank company came with its own infantry trained to work in close cooperation with the tanks the supported jaegers no longer needed to provide the tanks with men for close protection.*

Later the FO tank was removed from the tank company organization as the tactics started to favour the use of the tank company divided into jaeger companies, one platoon each. This combined with the fact that it was the jaeger commander leading the attack on foot with his own FO units, the FO tank simply became obsolete as the tank company would not call any indirect fires.*
