Special Border Jaegers*
*
The Special Border Jaegers or SBJs (Erikoisrajajaakari) are the newest addition to Finnish special forces, with training started in 2007. They are under the command of Border Guard during peace-time, and training is given in Immola, Imatra. Just like the paratroopers, the SBJs are trained from conscripts, that are chose after thorough physical and mental tests.*

The SBJs are specialized in the most demanding border guard duties offered, including counter-terrorist and counter special force -missions. The SBJs receive training to special recce and combat missions in the border area, from the heavily wooded terrain, to built up areas. This training includes a lot of survival skills to allow the men to be effective even for very long times behind enemy lines, and also advanced training with mines and explosives. Weapons, gear and tactics used depend on the mission.*
