Local Infantry Company*
*
In early 2000 the decision was made to form voluntary provincial units to FDF, under the command of the areal (military province) commander. These units (called "Maakuntakomppania" in Finnish, translates "Provinvial Company") are formed from active and suitable reservists to be used in close vicinity of their homes during war time for mainly guard or defense duties. During peace-time they can be used to help the other authorities.*

Forming of the units started 2005 when recruitment started. The project entered second phase in 2008, when first units were ready and made active. Their organization is usually built around the basic Infantry/Torjunta Battalion/Company organization. Due to the fact that they are volunteers and active, they train during their free time and keep up soldier's skills, as opposed to few mandatory refresher exercises most reserve units go through. Also being located around their homes they know the terrain they fight in very well. Their equipment is not the newest new, but still better than in your average reserve Infantry unit.*

To represent this, the unit receives slight experience bonus and a bit bigger morale bonus vs. normal infantry.*
