Klingon Empire |
The Klingon Empire is a race of proud warriors that hold personal and family honour above all else. Klingons are aggressive by nature and excel at all forms of combat, but lack the scientific and industrial capabilities of other cultures. General Environment:
Oxygen and Rock Cultural Modifiers
Biology Klingons are dark-skinned humanoids with distinct bony ridges on their foreheads. They prefer rocky, oxygen-based planets with temperate climates. Klingons are generally 2 meters in height with an approximate mass of 150 kilograms. Their internal physiology is highly redundant and allows them to recover from considerable injuries. Klingons are physically strong with an impressive tolerance for pain. The average Klingon lifespan is about 150-200 years. Society The Klingon Empire is ruled by a Chancellor and the High Council. The position of a Chancellor is decided by an Arbiter of Succession and may be challenged by a rival in a fight to the death. Klingons are a proud, tradition bound culture who value personal and family honor above all else. Klingons are rather aggressive and notoriously fierce in battle. A Klingon warrior is highly respected by society. Klingons are spiritual and believe in destiny and the afterlife. The Klingon's aggressive nature has taken its toll on scientific and economic endeavors, which at times have hampered the Empire. Brief History The Klingon Empire was unified over 1,500 years by Kahless when he defeated the tyrant, Molar. Since then, the Empire has expanded into space with the conquest of many worlds. After many years of open conflict with the United Federation of Planets, the Klingons were forced to make peace after the Praxis disaster in 2293. The brief Klingon civil war in 2368 and later wars with the Cardassian's and Dominion, have left the Klingon forces in disrepair and the economy in chaos. The succession of Martok as the Chancellor of the Empire is seen as the beginning of a new era for the Klingons.
