*Hammer Strike*

Israel assault vs. Hezbollah+Allies Defense*
*
Southern Lebanon*
*
2010*
*
Scenario Background- Following infiltration of Syrian and Iranian "advisors" into southern Lebanon, Israel launched airstrikes against Hezbollah camps housing said "advisors". Hezbollah retaliated with a fierce 2 day rocket attack on Israeli towns and military bases. The Israeli north command has been ordered to invade southern Lebanon once again. The 188th "Barak" armored brigade has cross attached elements with the 1st "Golani" Infantry brigade. 74th Battalion, joined by "Golani" and armored engineers, is leading "Barak" towards the Litani river, where the brigade will act as the anvil to a hammer made by the 7th and 401st armored brigades as well as other units. 188th is attempting to penetrate in a very narrow breakthrough and then take positions on the Litani. It is massively supported by artillery and air elements.*
*
Goal- 188th Armored Brigade will breakthrough Hezbollah forces in its sector and reach the Litani(by H+48) river with sufficient forces to block the retreat of Hezbollah forces engaged by other elements of the division(By H+72)*
*
Mission- 74th battalion will secure "Tola'at" route and the grounds dominating it by H+4, in order to allow 188th Brigade to pass through safely and advance North East.*
*
Terrain- "Tola'at" runs along the path of Wadi Mishmish, with several routes breaking away to the north and south. The Wadi is dominated in fire and observation from the villages around it, and is in fact a killing zone. The terrain is mostly passable to all vehicles, although Hezbollah forces have mined it heavily and have erected barbed wire compounds in the villages.*
*
OPPOSING FORCE-*
The enemy force is estimated to be 2 companies of Hezbollah supported by Syrian and Iranian advisors, as well as a platoon of Lebanese army tanks. Most of the enemy build up is in the village of Ras A-Kabir, however Intel indicates enemy in the Wadi itself, as well as the villages to the north.*
The enemy is supported by artillery (rocket and tube) and is heavily armed for anti-tank operations (in the short, medium and long ranges).

*
74th BTF Order of Battle-*
2 Companies of Merkava Mk3, including 6 mineclearing tanks.*
1 Company of Armored Inf*
1 Re-enforced Armored engineer Plt*
2 AH-64 gunships*
Supporting Elements-*
1-3 Batteries of 155mm arty*
1-2 Batteries of MLRS*
2 F-16I*
2 UAVs*
*
*
Remarks- Movement should be calculated and mine clearing devices must be used. Pay attention to smoke screening and use arty wisely to counter the almost certain massive barrage of ATGMs and RPGs.*

Designer's note: this scenario is meant to be played with the human as Israelis, AI as Hezbollah.
