Thanks for the history of the game, it sounds like an interesting game so far =))

I've also taken the opportunity to set the timer to 10 days, here is how it works.

This current turn was due for the 23, since torin might have some trouble i've extended it already.
When this turn is done (i guess around the 24) next turn will be due 10 days later, so likely the 3th of january.

quickhost is still on so if u manage to play a few more turns is even better =)

Someplace from the 3-7 january the timer will be setted back at 26 hours

The jab was not required. We are all newbies here, and hindsight is always 20/20. I focussed initial research on Wind Guide, which I DID get, and used to good effect. Had R'lyeh chosen to expand in say, Pangea's realm first, I'd still be in this game, and have Thunder Strike well before the need to attack R'lyeh came about. As it happened, my expansion was blocked on the north and east by nations I had NAP's with, and so my only expansion option was to hit R'lyeh (which was going to happen anyhow, sooner or later).

Your smart-@$$ed comment was definitely not appreciated. Luck DOES play into this game, and I don't think I made any seriously bad moves. I was simply over matched by a Uber-nation well before I had opportunity to research the spells I needed to defang them.

That wasn't my point.
I had no intention to attack you, I only took 3 indi provinces (near my capital) and my pretender was already back in my capital when you attacked me.
But all your posts sound like I'm the bad aggressor.

You attacked with a small force while not ready with your research and got beaten. Thats all, no "Uber-nation" or something like that.

Utgård declares war on R'lyeh. The madness shall be pushed back into the sea http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

You attack me (and everyone else) with your domain, and your expansion that close to my capital really left me no choice. Besides, with R'lyeh, the longer I wait, the worse it ends up for me. Say whatever you want, R'lyeh IS an Uber-nation, and my only option was to attack while you were small enough that there was at least a snowball's chance of making an advance.

Oh, and that "Small force" consisted of pretty much everything I was able to produce from turn 1. I didn't lose much to anything else. That many mages is only considered small at that point in the game when you are going against R'lyeh or Ermor.

Does anyone have any spare air or astral gems? I'm willing to sell water, earth, death and nature gems.

(I presume Torin is correcting Kadelake's "shall".) Really? I always thought either were okay but had subtly different meanings, the subtlety being one I'm not sure of.
