Well - I am going down. Thanks for all the support in trying to reopen the game. I think we can declare Marignon to be the winner http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Grats Nah ...

Peacekeeper March 6th, 2006 08:51 PM

Re: new turn

too early to declare him the winner, machaka is still looking strong.

and everyone could just gang up on him (hint hint)

Re: new turn

or you could just hope machaka and marignon have their epic battle soon, then let everyone else pick up the scraps (hoping they can beat whoever wins =)

shovah March 7th, 2006 12:50 PM

Re: new turn

no i would expect one of them to swiftly gain an upper hand and then be more powerful than before with little/no downtime

Re: new turn

See what this game needs is nukes. They're the great equalizer. That way, late game, a smaller nation can still take on a larger nation. And really who doesn't want to nuke everything in sight? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Morkilus March 7th, 2006 05:58 PM

Re: new turn

Even small nations can be a general nuisance to a large nation with a couple "paradrop" spells like Call of the Wild, or summoned SCs. And nukes are not the great equalizer... a small country may have a few nukes, but the large country has a few hundred. And I see you've never wished for Armageddon or cast Burden of Time...

shovah March 7th, 2006 07:11 PM

Re: new turn

17 player game, 1 or 2 super powers, 10 players wish for armageddon :p

that would be a sight to see

Re: new turn

I have never had much success with CoW(ind/ild). I seem to breed cowards. 3 PD is often enough to send my Canines and my birdbrainis packing.

great, getting ganged by vanhiem and marignon. Wonderful.

Re: new turn

NUKES! That's exactly what I wanted that game.

This is just a message to everyone left in the game: CAELUM WILL EAT YOUR BABIES AND THEN TAKE YOUR PROVINCES!

Peacekeeper March 9th, 2006 02:26 AM

Re: new turn

hey, Man officially died this turn! You arn't allowed to talk no more!!!

and stop spreading these lies....I only eat midgets, not babies.

Wish March 9th, 2006 03:42 AM

Re: new turn

It seems clear at this point, those that allie with marignon will likely fall to marignon.

god I hope I gave your dragon that lycanthope amulet, vanhiem. that would be funny.

OG_Gleep March 9th, 2006 06:23 AM

Re: new turn

Um just because you got attacked by Marignon does not make him my Ally.

I was going to wish you good luck, but now I'm thinking against it.

Wish March 9th, 2006 05:41 PM

Re: new turn

so he is an oppertunist. Anyone fighting marignon, build a thug with 100 fire resistance and you can hew threw his zealot horde. Also, a lot of archers would probably be sufficient to wipe them out before they get to your troops with their fire bless...

OG_Gleep March 9th, 2006 09:11 PM

Re: new turn

Twist of fate gives partial protection.

MAN!!! You got lucky. I was this || close to getting your VQ that turn. Hehe, funny how effective those vans can be at preaching =)

Well played turn.

Wish March 10th, 2006 03:43 AM

Re: new turn

You ripped appart my archer horde though :/

some heavy hits

shovah March 10th, 2006 05:24 AM

Re: new turn

a high protection fire resistant thug, try a banelord with red dragon armour, charcoal shield, and a fire resist weapon (dragon armour is only 75% prot right?)

Bluebird March 13th, 2006 06:28 AM

Re: new turn

Ok - was a nice game you folks - I am done. Now that Marignon seems to stall, you might have a chance. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

GG Bluebird.

Your Vampire Queen arrived just in time to hand me the deed to Tien Chi Wish =). Man I love the winds filled with blades.

Which VQ?

shovah March 14th, 2006 02:36 PM

Re: new turn

TC's vq i think

OG_Gleep March 14th, 2006 03:31 PM

Re: new turn

Yep. I had killed all the CM's so he was unprotected. A sage lost his life in a magic duel, but...1 sage for the cost of one VQ...think I came out ahead.

Wish March 15th, 2006 01:29 AM

Re: new turn

well, except that shes immortal and comes back every turn until you manage to change the dominion. Anyway I have no chance to survive, so whats left of TC will be played by AI.

OG_Gleep March 15th, 2006 05:54 PM

Re: new turn

Isn't she dead if you take the capitol?

Peacekeeper March 15th, 2006 06:22 PM

Re: new turn

nope, she just revives outside of the fort until you change the dominion and kill her there.

Re: new turn

This is turning out to be an interesting game for me. I went up against Marignon's god the last few turns, a baphomet, the first time I've encountered one. Learned a lot on what it can and can't do. And it can do a lot. Yet he fell to my mighty army... er, well, maybe not an "army", but a semi-decked out Thug/SC. I still lost a lot of chaffe in the process to him.

shovah March 16th, 2006 02:08 PM

Re: new turn

im guessing he just fire shielded+nuked your chaff? most of the immobiles are pretty tough.

Shmonk March 16th, 2006 02:14 PM

Re: new turn

Yep... fire storm I believe was the most damage.. though it killed more of his chaffe then mine in the bigger battles. It took a Troll King with fire dragon armor and boots of flying to get up to him right away and start dealing damage. But my other thug (banelord, decently equipped) he enslaved right away... I got lucky that my King was immune enough to kill him before it was too late for him as well (but he did get blinded, darn it). But, a priestess should fix him up nicely, and he'll be back in the fight shortly.

archaeolept March 16th, 2006 02:53 PM

Re: new turn

i like old flamey-head, but he does tend to die. The worst was once when I teleported him into some knights - a lucky lance hit feebleminded him, and he was lying drooling in the mud for half the game...

Another time, since flamey-head tend's to spam paralyze, he got killed as he couldn't retreat, and he had so heavily paralyzed the opponent that he couldn't retreat either, by the final battle turn limit...

shovah March 16th, 2006 03:33 PM

Re: new turn

lol, that feeblemindedness mustve hurt. all i can say is: he has misc slots, use them

archaeolept March 16th, 2006 07:08 PM

Re: new turn

ehh, i'm not sure how misc slots help him to drool...

other than, eventually, i forged the chalice http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

shovah March 16th, 2006 07:17 PM

Re: new turn

but a ring of regen/some form of defensive misc couldnt prevented it

Nah27 March 16th, 2006 09:07 PM

Re: new turn

Eh you really don't set up a flamey head to take a lot of a beating anyways, if you throw a barkskin ring on him, he winds up exhausting himself with his own heat aura, and you still only have 10 prot... baphomets are best when no one is hitting them.

OG_Gleep March 16th, 2006 11:14 PM

Re: new turn

Hrm about the VQ, it hasn't respawned at the capitol (laying siege to it as you said PK), and if she was going to show up, I'd figure it was at the province next door. Just took that one last turn and she wasn't there.

Are you sure she respawns if the Capitol is taken?

Peacekeeper March 18th, 2006 01:30 AM

Re: new turn

In light of what has happened to Ogs computer in this important part of the game, i suggest we put it on hold until he can get back online, anyone object?
