Is this Sunday Easter? If so, I can postpone host until Monday if anyone needs some time off for the holiday.

No Easter in China http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif so no need for me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

From Zeldor:
Could you postpone hosting for the game? Internet went down in the dormitory and they are a bit lazy here and I don't think they will repair it before monday. I am in cafe but I rather have no chance to make turn here [I can look for smth better on Monday if they do not repair Internet]. Thanks:)

I will delay the game until Monday morning because it is Easter Sunday. Requests for delays will be ignored without explanation if they are not posted on the game thread.

However, it is a 24 hour delay. It is not a delay until your dorm gets it internet fixed.

Zeldor March 22nd, 2008 11:04 AM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Ok, they repaired it, I will submit turn today.

Xietor March 22nd, 2008 11:07 AM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Turn will be due as scheduled then. I removed the bonus 24 hours from the host.

Maybe let's just declare game finished with what lead Arco has and let's start EH 3?

Xietor:

You want to make 100 Tartarians for a group photo before new patch comes out? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Arcos, is at best in 3rd place, and likely 5th.

Eriu even has 3 capitals now. Atlantis has the most research, gems, elemental royalty, tartarians, constr 8 artifacts, etc.

I think Shard would kill you if he came back from his trip and his sub had declared the 5th place player the winner. lol.

Xietor March 22nd, 2008 03:02 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Tichy,

Thanks for playing. Hopefully you have some thoughts on Tien Chi's Epic hero. Likely not so much on Eriu's Epic hero as baalz lost him to indies(:

BTW Baaltz, Cathbad had some fairly wicked dominion summons had he survived.

Zeldor March 22nd, 2008 03:05 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

How long are you trying to sell that 'fear evil Atlantis' story to people? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I must say it worked great, but against some weaker players, that were quite easy to manipulate.

You have at least 3x more tartarians than Atlantis does. And I wouldn't be surprised if it was 10x more. You have huge squads of mind hunters, soul slayers etc.

Atlantis lead in research won't matter in couple turns anyway. And we all know how huge quality difference is between mages of Arco and Atlantis or Caelum. There are simply weaker and stronger nations in that game.

Tichy March 22nd, 2008 04:23 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Baalz,

Thanks for the compliment. Declaring war on you was the only decision I could have made at the point in the game when I made it -- No other avenue of expansion except for through a friendly nation -- but it was the worst decision I could have made. Like declaring war against a brick wall. You throw yourself at it and it hurts. Throw yourself at it hard enough and it falls on you. Then you're underneath a brick wall, which is not nearly as fun as it sounds.

Xietor,
Thanks for inviting me. I liked Li Bo, though I was a bit timid with him. No armor slot made it difficult for me to think of him as a fighter against anything really tough, but he's a good raider stopper if he gets a good first shot -- and since he's immortal, bad luck isn't nearly as costly. In a larger battle I put reinvig. and penetration items on him, put him near the back and had him throw spells. Even there, though, I was really leery of taking him out of dominion because he's so fragile.

Tichy March 22nd, 2008 04:27 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

In conclusion: When EHIII rolls around, I think I'll play a nation that occasionally gets mages with 3 in something useful.

Baalz March 22nd, 2008 07:27 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Heh, I figure I'll put my money where my mouth is and give Ulm a turn. Maybe I'll even, you know, try keeping my hero alive.

Did I also say it is really annoying to see Lolomo around for yet another endgame(: Take that as a compliment.

My capital will never fall! Ten Thousand Wolves guard its Gates. Elephants are also seen in abundance. A Pride of Lions,
some bears, and a few other animals make my Capital the envy of the Free World.

BTW, if you visited my Capital, there is a charge to go to the Zoo. We will expect 10 s gems next turn.

I second the nomination that Arco is the next recipient of dogpile of the world. At this rate everybody will get a turn....

Xietor March 29th, 2008 04:28 PM

Is that a hostile act sufficient to void a NAP? heh.

Calling for a dog pile on a peace loving nation with a zoo?

shhhh... Caelum is trying to hunker down and keep quiet and unnoticed. Move along now, nothing to see here.

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Epic Heroes II is now at turn 70. Of the 18 starting races, only eight Nations remain, and only 6 are true contenders.

1. Atlantis(Shard/Zeldor)3 capitals, but clams galore, most gem income, most artifacts, water race, 2 globals
2. Caelum(Lolomo)4 capital quiet, and building up.....
3. Eriu(Baalz)(3 capitals)
4. Marignon(Sir_Dr_D(3 capitals, global)
5. Arcoscephale(Xietor) 3 capitals, global)
6. Ermor(Sieger, AdmiralZhao)most powerful MA race, most powerful Epic Hero, 1 global), AdmiralZhao handicapped a bit in that he took over from a player that had many stale turns).

7. Abysia(Valerius)(gets the true grit award. His tenacity at fighting Eriu is much admired. Unlike Man and Tien Chi,
Eriu has not been able to nail the coffin lid shut on Abysia).

8. Pythium(Zoshan)-few provinces, but not at war with anyone. Maybe he will outlast all but the winner?

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Yeah, I'm not sure what I was thinking there. I saw the Murdering Winters coming, but didn't quite put it together that your armies would attack after the blizzards came through. Poor little death-angel.

Also, I would like to amend Xietor's list. Ermor is most decidedly not a true contender. All we can really hope for at this point is to soak up some more of Atlantis's water gems.

Xietor April 7th, 2008 01:06 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Hostilities between ancient enemies Eriu and Arcoscephale have resumed. Both nations own 3 capitals, and Eriu has many forts.

Other Nations are advised to watch only.

While Eriu lost some provinces on turn 1, he lost few armies and no castles. It was Arcoscephale's inability to capture a single castle from Eriu in the last war, and great losses of troops in the trying, that forced us to make a peace.

Baalz April 7th, 2008 01:28 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Then again, that was before tartarians, of which I have none. I'll make you bleed I hope, but I'll be mighty surprised if I can make any real dent in you.

I had banelords in the last war-they are almost as good.

I think I used 5 gor tartarians against Eriu. That is hardly a factory.

My Troll King decided to retreat from assassination attempt that he would easily win. So frustrating :/ And in next one my mage enslave minded ashen angel but I didn't get him http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Xietor April 8th, 2008 11:50 AM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

you never get to keep ashen angels or horrors. They always disappear after combat.

Baalz blitzed me pretty hard last turn, taking many provinces, killing troops, priests, mages, burning temples.

But we are not ready to throw in the towel just yet.

Xietor April 8th, 2008 01:03 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Let me be precise then. Eriu took 13 provinces, all of them heavily defended with 20-25 pd and at least 1 mage. some had 5 mages.

Nerf Eriu!

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

The Clash of the Titans. heh.

33 battles last turn. after I watched about 6 I gave up and decided not to watch anything but "key" ones.

Had I watched them all, that would have taken about 2 hours in and of itself. Though Arcoscephale is a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of Eriu attacks, our generals have decided to gamely fight on.

Zeldor April 14th, 2008 07:37 AM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Could I get some extension? At least 3-5 hours? 12-24 would be best http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I had no electricity for some time and no Internet later and now quite narrow gap to do turn well.

Xietor April 14th, 2008 09:33 AM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

I just woke up 730 am here. It is near host time. I will delay it if i can.

It looks as if i missed it by 15 minutes(: What I will do is delay the host time by 6 hours so it will not host when I am asleep. That should help me catch delay requests from players not living in the US.

I managed to make some not so bad orders http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif [didn't check results yet]

P.S. Shard should be already back, hmm...

Baalz April 14th, 2008 12:53 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Well, the last kitchen sink has sailed over the wall and the nation of Eriu will almost certainly have nothing of note left after the next turn. GG everybody, without exception every one of you guys I invaded were extremely tenacious and just refused to die when (I felt http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif ) you really should have! Should be an interesting finish as I wouldn't put much money on either of the three leaders at this point, too close to call, but I wouldn't let Arco sit on my lands unmolested too long if I were you. Not going AI yet as I want my last set of orders executed, but plan to next turn.

Xietor April 14th, 2008 01:56 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Good game Baalz!

Nice communion work btw. I feared that would happen and teleported in reinforcements or you likely would have won that battle.

You were/are very tenacious in your own right, and have bled me pretty bad. And I am sure there is more to come(:

As to the winner, I would not put any money on me either, as Caelum was allowed to sit and build up too long, and Atlantis has unlimited gem income by now.

With Lolomo's endgame expertise, I would give him the nod over Atlantis. In the Big Game I had a hard time figuring out what Lolomo was doing to me, much less stop it. Like the Big Game he has had eons of time to build up; but unlike the Big Game, he has had 4 capitals instead of one to augment his clams.

But Eriu is not done, you have your capital and other castles, and still have numerous thugs, plus the angels you persuaded Pythium or Marignon to give you(:

No one has given me any Angels(:

Baalz April 14th, 2008 02:12 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Lol, nope, those angels were not given, they joined in the attack when you did and soaked up some of my anti-tartarian charming.

Meh, my capital is practically deserted and you've killed 2/3rds of my raiders while I have no unseiged castles to get more. After this turn's battles I really don't expect to have anything worthwhile to captain.

Zeldor April 14th, 2008 02:49 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Baalz:

If Shard does not get back you can take over Atlantis and see how extremely wrong you were when writing that it is good nation in your guide http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I could use word pathetic instead when it comes to fighting with cold-immune undead.

Xietor April 14th, 2008 03:07 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

My tartarians are immune to charm, as they are undead. You may want to try enslave mind next time, or control undead.

Baalz April 14th, 2008 03:21 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

I'm pretty sure (though could be wrong) that undead are charmable so long as they're not mindless. I know for 100% sure that I've charmed Tartarians before.

Xietor April 14th, 2008 03:33 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

How would one go about charming something that is already dead? They have no flesh, sex drive, or urge to reproduce?

Baalz April 14th, 2008 03:54 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Charm != seduction. Being a magical persuasion I imagine it would effect the areas of the mind susceptible to any bargaining or persuasion, convincing the victim they *want* to work for you based on whatever motivation they have.

LoloMo April 14th, 2008 09:26 PM

Re:Looking for a sub for MA Ermor

Caelum have no units that can make any gem producing items. Arco is definitely the nation in the lead right now by a long margin.
