Re: Kickabout - Game Started.
Looking in the Manual has Eye Shield special properties as "May Lose an Eye."
As the Manual is generally clearer and doesn't include Fluff like in game descriptions, and given Caerun has hinted that he has some sort of luck enhancer on his Cyclops, its more than likely just the roll of the dice. I also have a sneaking feeling that it might be possible that Regeneration cures afflictions? Although I'm not sure that this happens during battles. |
Re: Kickabout - Game Started.
Okay, Although I don't know why the Baal charged into combat. Battles are supposed to end at the 50th turn and the bolo says it has 50 rounds of ammo. He was not hasted, quickened, in any manner. I'm so confused. Anyway game on. I'm having a terrible day today, you know one of those where everything breaks, malfunctions, spontaneously combusts, ect... I'm gonna :hide: for the rest of the day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. :D

Re: Kickabout - Game Started.
Regeneration does not cure afflictions, it reduces the chance to get them though. And I think high MR units can resist the shield effect most of the time. Combine that with lucky (½ chance for anything bad to hit, not sure if it applies to this though) and regeneration - well, not much use for an eye shield against that.

Re: Kickabout - Game Started.
Due to a business emergency I will be gone for the next few months. I suggest you set my position to AI. Game on.:D

Re: Kickabout - Game Started.
Hinnom set to AI. Hope everything works out OK Bwaha.
On a related note thats two in the last two turns have gone AI, and their both above me in the score tables. Maybe I should take the hint :(. |
Re: Kickabout - Game Started.
The hint would be "start killing people other than your own," in case you're thinking of a different one.
Just look at me for an example. :) From my tiny corner of the world I'm now well on my way to eating up a nice chunk of Hinnom, thanks to Bwaha's real life misfortunes. |
Re: Kickabout - Game Started.
This game is going more and more to Sauromatias favor... Has anyone seen tartarians yet?

Re: Kickabout - Game Started.
Thanks to the heartless deans of my university, I'm gonna have 7 finals in 8 days, so I'm retiring from all my games, setting myself to AI. I'm really sorry people :(

Re: Kickabout - Game Started.
Wow, Maverni, I must tip my hat to you for bringing what you did to the table at that epic battle. I know I'm a noob, but I have yet to see such a large battle involving so many conventional units in a game of DOM3. I think it wasn't your tactics that let you down...just your choice of enemy :)

Re: Kickabout - Game Started.
Thanks Deadnature, it's been a positive pleasure to be burnt to the ground by you, but I think you being overly polite about my tactics.
In hindsight I'd divide them into 3 phases: My Invasion: Completly Retarded - My druids were lavishly kitted out to be invulnerable to missile fire whilst my army had no protection against fire. Against Abysia, who has no archers and a lot of fire. The Suicide Earthquakes: Retarded but necessary - An attempt to wipe out your mages at the cost of all of mine, I think I got about half of them? Whilst your army did stop for the time it took me to build that enormous horde you just wiped out I dont know if this was to bring up fresh mages or just general consolidation. Last Stand: Fine in Conception, Retarded in execution - The absolute key to this fight was slapping a soul matrix(?) on the Thunderbird so he could join the communion and cast Warriors of Musphelheim in the second turn. I thought the communion was large enough to make this possible but considering the damn pretentious Heron cast Fire Fend instead I guess its back to the Communions guide. My friend Hindsight watched the battle and was like, "Why not just have all those Druids off teleport raiding here, have a massive communion because you knew it was dodgy, and once the Communion has started have a garanteed Warriors of Musphelheim before laying down an absolutely massive Gifts of Heaven barrage? You could have had a dozen druids spamming that stuff?" Needless to say I slapped him and booted him out the door. As for your Abysians, who I'm informed played a small part in my downfall, the amount of firepower (pun intended) you brought to bear was pretty amazing, and would have been great fun to watch if it hadn't been aimed at me. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go barricade some doors. tl : dr version - Waahhhh! Waahhhh! I lost and its not fair! |
