Re: Weekend

I have no fear that you can sacrifice up plenty more imps where those came from. The bottom half of the map is mictlan green as far as the eyes can see. Between you and Abysia, virgin females will soon be a endangered species http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Hmm....

I'm not sure how the rest of you guys feel about "Mictlan Green as far as the eye can see", but to me (and I assume, Ryleh), it's a little scary.

Not that I'm threatening to attack you, oh mighty Gay George! The Vanheim empire is a peaceful one. We wish no such conflict!

Re: Mictlan Green as far as the eyes can see

For a third time the pretender of Tien Chi, Yuck Fou, meets his death on the battlefield at the hands of the Jotuns. This battle was actually somewhat unexpected... the northern half of the map seems now to be plagued by scouting problems, as seems to happen on Faerun after the game reaches a certain point.

Therefore, almost by accident, a TC army blundered upon my significantly stronger force on the approaches to the Giantspire watchtower. I can only assume he could not see my army, as it had easily beaten armies two or three times the size of this particular TC force. All seven TC commanders were killed, Including Yuck Fou (who stayed in human form during the battle) and Ho Hsien-ku, an immortal hero of TC, done to final death in unfriendly dominion.

Victory and Glory for Jotunheim!!

Game problem!!

Hey All, I have a big problem with our game. I stopped being able to get any troop reports...even to not seeing any "squares" around prov flags. Is anyone else having that problem?

It started maybe 5 or 6 turns ago, but I thought it would clearup. But no such luck.

Re: Game problem!!

Heh. *snicker* That's one reason some of us don't like to play the Faerun map - not that it isn't a handsome map, but it's too big.

And that means long games with huge armies, and Dominions2 gets ... flaky when there's too many units, one of the first most visible symptoms being that scouting becomes completely worthless, and you can't even see the huge armies around you. Great stuff, eh? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif At least everyone should have the same handicap.

Soapyfrog July 29th, 2005 03:41 AM

Re: Game problem!!

Klatu: as mentioned in my little report, there is a bug with the Faerun map where scouting no longer works... it seems to always happen in the north eastern part of the map too.

BTW that was a mound of PD you put in Narfell. It actually did some real damage to my army! It has made me rethink my strategy a little bit, to say the least.

Man's offensive against Abysia proceeds apace I see! Truly the noble forces of Man, with the power of goodness and honour, and more importantly being on the RIGHT side cannot fail against the vile evilness of Abysia? Die, Abysia, Die! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Ah woe is me! I got my newly ressurected pretender killed fighting Tien Chi PD! I swear that TC PD is going to be the end of me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

In other news, an Abysian Golem kindly decided to donate all its equipment to the Jotun cause when our brave giants dismembered it in the field of Narfell.

Death to Abysia!

Yea.
We did have that in game agreement. It's not my fault. Big George just got on his pink pony and rode west. Don't tell the others okay? They still think Pythium is fighting.

Re: Honor among warriors

We need a Unit-Limit. There are still 13 Nations in the game.
The Unitlimit is slightly above 32k. Indies also count towards this Unitlimit.
So basically to be save no nation may have more then 2000 Units.
2000x13= 26000, then we have enough room for the indies and slight exceeding of the unitlimit by 1-2 players.

We should grant Mictlan,Abysia,Ctis and Ryleh a slightly bigger unitlimit since for these 4 nations hordeunits are vital:
Mictlan has hordes of slaves for patrolling and lots of Imps, Abysia has lots and lots of imps also, Ctis is Dtombs, so no further comment needed and finally Ryleh has 3 Gold Lobo Guards.

If someone is already exceeding the 2000 Unit Unitlimit, please post.
Then we have to count units probably.

In retrospective we should have turned scoregraphs on, with them it would have been way easier to estimate if the unitlimit will be reached soon or not.

Pan and Pythium will soon die, then we can increase the Unitlimit per player to 2500.

My Ryleh is so far not near the Unitlimit because of my strat for this game which is focusing on quality instead of quantity.

YellowCactus August 4th, 2005 07:39 PM

Re: Honor among warriors

I think we can safely have 4000 units each. With all the wars, Some factions will become diminished so there will not be 13 factions with 4000 units. Pythium, Jot, Acro, TienChi, and Pan are all playing a great game, but will not have thousands of units.

Re: Honor among warriors

I doubt I'll even have 200 units...

Soapyfrog August 4th, 2005 10:36 PM

Re: Honor among warriors

Abysia shows his teeth... only to have them kicked in.

At the gates of Firwad the great host of Jotuns was assulted by a foe flying down out of the sky. A host of devils and imps led my two great arch-devils and various minor demons wreathed the battlefield in flames.

Stung to great anger the jotuns fought back, though the firestorm cast by the diabolic enemy took a heavy toll on their smaller allies. Through the flames they fought, driving the devils from the field, slaying the demonbred who sought to slow their advance by casting waves of flames form their finger tips.

Of course, the Arch Devils, great cowards that they are, were the first to flee when the battle turned... such is the nature of Abysia.

Enraged after the battle, the Giants broke into the watchtower of Firwad and slaughtered more than a dozen sages of Tien Chi. None were spared...

Victory for Jotunheim!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Pasha's feeble efforts to break my siege have actually succeeded in one thing--keeping me under the 2000 limit. I am probably well under, actually,

BTW, Pasha, did you lose your Pretender on your last sally? The combat report showed all your commanders died, but your cowardly Pretender was seen running from the field...auto-rout death, perhaps? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif

There was at least one friendly province he could have retreated to. If it was an attempt to lift a siege by the troops from inside the castle, would that affect things?

Soapyfrog August 5th, 2005 02:20 PM

Re: troops

Yes I do beleive that might be right. If the unit i breaking siege and is forced to retreat, it dies. That is consistent with my past experience.

As the Tomb Lords survey the wreckage that once was the kingdom of Arcoscephale, they can only wonder what prompted the misguided followers of Pasha to treacherously attack C'tis without warning...surely they must have known of the WRATH that was to be visited upon them for their impertinence?

But such questions are for the living to ponder at length; the dread, dead Tomb Kings have other concerns--how best to grind the people of Arco under their dry, scaly heels, for example!

Ahhh! Defeat most foul at the hand of Tien Chi! Though half the enemy army was slaughtered, my own lack of regular troops led to my demise... the first Herse that went down bravely fighting caused a rout of the rest of the army. Alas, a minor defeat as most of my brave Jotuns made it away safely, but for a few badly crippled Bane Lords and Herses, 5 in number.

Well chalk one up for TC, even if minor. Let's hope it is not an omen...
