Tien Chi has many mages, many different mages. LA Agartha won't get anything better than a Ktonian Necromancer, and while some of their other magic-users are more powerful priests and perhaps more cost-efficient, Ktonian Necromancers are always magically most powerful. Ktonian Necromancers ARE the magic of LA Agartha. LA Tien Chi has many mages, two very different schools of magic, and four different mages who are suited to different jobs: Earth for items and spesific tasks in battles, Nature to support own armies, Death for various jobs in and out of battles, and Celestial Masters for many different jobs including but not limited to item forging and sitesearching. |

Re: Screenies!
Endo, I still haven't seen an interesting new death spell for days now.
Try to find one please, I can't wait to see one. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif |

http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...48784-temp.jpg EDIT: Also, there's no need to tell me that Bane Lords aren't new. Even I have used them. However, the spell is no longer the same, and Bane Lords are no longer the only reasonable thug chassises. |
Re: Screenies!
Hmm, how has the spell changed? And what are the new thug chassises?
|
Re: Screenies!
Well it used to be D3 and 10 gems so I guess they figured bane lords were overused.
It'll be cool if death has some other good thug summons now though. |

Yeap I can't remember any spell like "Leeching Darkness". It would be cool to see it. There is a blood spell, Leeching Touch in Doms 2. That is the only one what I can think of if we talk about "Leeching". http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif |
Re: Screenies!

Re: Screenies!
Very interesting. Depending on the level it needs and the skill needed to cast it it could be a very handy spell.
How about a new magic item for a change? |
Re: Screenies!

Is that a typo ? Edit : I also see many units with an eye in their stats. What does that mean ? |
Re: Screenies!
It most likely a typo. The english in that unit is pretty terrible anyway...
Eye with black center = Darkvision/Partial Darkvision Eye with white center = Unit doesn't have eyes/is Blind |

I'm also interested what the High Seraph's randoms are like nowadays.

They are old, 60/50 so not too severe. -2 att/def/str, but their base hp of 9 usually aren't affected, and precision goes down only 1 to 14. Quote:
MA Abysia, Warlocks. They've stayed the same, exept they are old now, and have funky randoms. http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...48849-temp.jpg EDIT: I'll try simpler stuff for now. Even less work for me. |

Needless to say, that I am very thankful for your work, what you do to post these informations Endo. All new spells, units etc. what we can see [thanks to you mainly] are great for us, fans. I can't think of any gaming forum, where I was flooded with so many new informations about an upcoming game. Illwinter and the lads in the beta....hats off! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif |

WASD?
Raptor Kettle, meet Seraph Pot. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif The Warlock randoms are quite interesting I must say. Thanks for all the pics. |

Re: Screenies!
Would love to see some more marverni screenies if possible.
Preferably some nationals or even national summons I just read about this nation and know NOTHING about them http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Will there be 3 eras for them ? |
Re: Screenies!
DOES THIS SCARE YOU?
Never mind. Getting a game this large takes some real tweaking of map and server settings. Its possible, but not something that is on the menu http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Here are some images from a game called Massive http://www.dom3minions.com/games/Mas...eProvinces.JPG And if you are still wondering about AIs building Castles... http://www.dom3minions.com/games/Mas...ssiveForts.JPG Gandalf Parker |

And if that one didnt scare you then maybe THIS one will. I will attach this so you have to click on the red "attachment" link at the top of the message to see this one. Not everyone will want to see this game screen. This is from my Armageddon game. What was really fun was running this on automatic quick-hosting all night to see if it would crash the server.

Some testing could be done to discover for certain, but I'd bet ERMOR is still the most nasty of the computer opponents. Also... just my opinion, but different ages for each nation should have a slightly different flag as well. Even something small like a stripe added would really help. |
Re: Screenies!
Rather massive games you got there.
And I agree with NT Jedi. |

Marverni is EA only. I'm not sure if there are plans for other eras, but I don't remember hearing about it. It's celts. I'll post something tomorrow. |
Re: Screenies!
EA Marverni corresponds to MA and LA Marignon, IIRC

Re: Screenies!
Ermor tends to take an early lead but it does not win the AI race. Im afraid that specific info beyond that will have to wait for tests that are not done under the beta-testing controls.
Also, in these tests I tended to take Ermor or Jotunheim since they could stay alive for awhile without me actually having to play it so that will also affect these charts. |
Re: Screenies!

In vanilla dom2 ermor was awesome http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif. But in CB/Dom3 clams are much harder to make, and nearly impossible to hoard for ermor. So ermor is imho much weaker in Dom2 CB and not too uber in Dom3 neihter probably. But because population is so important in Dom3 and both ermor and ryleh are death themes there ermor should be very good in dom3 late era. I think you will like them http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif. Ermor gets 20 death gems from their starting site in Dom3. |

Now, are here any psychologists? Now that there's little time before the release, and possibly the demo, should I A) Post some 'articles', bigger and shinier stuff, recruitment screen views, etc so that there's something you have seen and can jump in and try it. B) TOTAL SILENCE! Stop it all and let you suffer, and wait, and grow anxious. |

(here in France we have a very famous comics series named "Asterix" featuring the feats of a small Gaul village vs the Roman Empire, winning each time due to this special potion made by the Druid. It has been largely exported but dunno if it's really known in the US or Asia !). |
Re: Screenies!
Ah yes, Asterix, used to read them a lot as a wee kid. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
|
Re: Screenies!
Asterix is way cool!
(we had the comics in Ireland when I was growing up) |
Re: Screenies!
So do you understand why in my current Maverni game I've called my pretender "Abraracourcix" ? Maybe the names wrere changed in foreign languages, as they all mean something http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif !
|
Re: Screenies!
Asterix, Obelix (best friend), Abraracurcix(chief?), Panoramix (druid, my standard druid name), ideafix(dog), Ordenalfabetix(fish shopper), Edadepiedrix (old man).
From Spanish version. |
Re: Screenies!
in german the chief is called "Majestix", the Druid "Miraculix" and the others have also different names.... interesting...
