Re: talking smack in Perpetuality

As far as this being the most active thread... Well, I think the game has gone into a more diplomatic mode. People are less willing to just post their thoughts on this thread, and prefer to PM and in-game message other players. I would note, significantly, that the most powerful players hardly ever post in this thread (with the exception of Velusion, who has a power complex).

Well HB is right in that people tend to post less in this thread I belive. Its not really the powerful nations that are being quiet though, just generally all nations.

I find that games seem to vary randomly in how active their threads are. The Alpaca game, which is really exciting with lots of dramatic wars and diplomatic wheeling and dealing, has an almost completely silent thread.

Marverni thinks it's all the hippies out in the West.

We just tell the human women that we are all "peace and love" kinda fishmen. It makes it easier to attract them to our "new age spas" (read:coastal fort wells) so we can,um, "meet" if you get my meaning. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Imagine a fishman dressed up in tie-dyed shirt and jeans trying to use hippy slang to pick up some comely maidens that are relaxing in the "hot tub".

As far as the game goes, Niefelheim officially declairs war on Patala for having a sissy name.

Maybe if you keep on kissing Ermor's bony *** so enthusiastically, they'll save you for dessert.

Now that's more like it. Are we less bogged down now? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

But seriously... Ermor's always one of the drama-producing nations because they're so difficult to fight at the beginning, and you get so little out of any victories if they've had any time to assert their dominion. I feel for anyone that has had to deal with them this early. I'm not sure it's too early for an anti-freespawn coalition. I only feel slightly safe bringing it up since I don't share a border with them yet.

Well, I don't post much in these threads because I have no desire to announce or even give a hint of my intentions to the world.

Oh please. I have terrible scales? I do but they certainly don't seem to make me a pushover for Ermor. Ermor's been trying to "bog" me down since about the third turn of the game, and Niefelheim's still standing-and this is the very first MP game I've ever played (but notice how I'm not the first one out?).

Am I ashamed of how well I'm doing?

No I am not.

Am I requesting AI status?

No I am not.

I was referring to the thread, not the game, since this used to be the most active thread by far in the mods. It just seems like people don't seem that interested in it.

As far as the game goes, Niefelheim officially declairs war on Patala for having a sissy name.

If people want to jump on my back since they see my nation as weak (while secretly being relieved that Ermor's the one doing all the weakening while they cower), go right ahead.

Maybe if you keep on kissing Ermor's bony *** so enthusiastically, they'll save you for dessert.

Meglobob-what? am I a clown to you? do I make you laugh?

I think this game would have gone a lot differently for the both of us if I had shared a border with EA Tir'na'nogh and not with LA Ermor-I've played with the Sidhe a bit and no, they don't have a lot that can stop triple 10 blessed Niefels in the first year, especially now that Glamour's been nerfed.

And yes, I do post a lot, and I do consider myself to have a sense of humor, but please refrain from making me out to be the "forum mascot". I don't necessarily take myself all that seriously, but I do take Dominions seriously, and I'd rather not be viewed as a joke, either.

I'm sure you can understand, since you were so quick to correct me when I misnamed you "Megablob" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

hey, you might still be able to fight your way back HB. If you are lucky LA ermors neighbors will realise his nation is a menace to all and aid you.
