Huh, Gryphin, don't bring this up. Growltigga and me might be arguing about Bratwurst but US law extension into the EU is quite a big concern over here as Groltigga will confirm I think. You know, in Europe you cannot convict one to pay 10.000.000 bugs for lost hair but many people just appeal to US courts that happily convict companies in Europe and care nothing for the local laws.

Too right it is a problem, explaining to Americans that New York state law is not a global codus is a severe headache - probably explains why English law is more popular for commercial transactions! |
Re: Ye Olde Galactic Bar & Grill & Phong\'s Head Cantina
Um, for what it is worth, I was pointing out that a recent court descision made it clear that US companyes were required to comply with EU laws. In particular where it relates to use of the web. The concern of the US companies is excatly what you point out. They are worried they will soon be required to do things your way.
I am in no posiston to take any position on this save the "Gryphin" one. |
Re: Ye Olde Galactic Bar & Grill & Phong\'s Head Cantina
Well, you are right that way as well but as I recall, isnt compliance with EU standards simply reccomended rather than a requirement, and I thought it was restricted to US companies with a trading presence over this side of the great puddle?
interesting to see if it works as I seem to recall there was some federal guidelines advocating compliance by US companies with the corporate governance reccomendations in our English Cadburey report but that just hit a mass of US ennui apologies Gryh, was just working round your point rather than hitting it headon |

Growltigga, send me an e-mail. We will make up for your lack of experience in SEIV with my cunning strategic and tactical ability, your verbal dexterity and obvious charm and good looks and more importantly, if necessary we can set Godzilla on Gryphin and the other sideswipers! Hip hip hooray for the British - galactic conquerors and lords of the ebon deeps, the Growltigga/Nippy the Magical Duck/Simon the Dancing Hippo and Ethel the Eclectic Echidna Alliance will sweep the spaceways free of all heretics, moustachioed or not PS Mac, I have deduced what amounts to scientific research in your lexicon - I would point out that that sort of thing is illegal in some countries and under certain more strict religions, will make you rknees turn to water and will also make you go blind [ 15 March 2002: Message edited by: nippy the magical duck ]
|

Re: Ye Olde Galactic Bar & Grill & Phong\'s Head Cantina
"sideswipers"? If one checks the girth of the anatamy of a Duck, I would venture to say that this would pertain most profusly upon the feathery
type creatures more in regards to featherwipers. Ole Gryphin, Tesco, PhoenixD, and Saxon where are you, warm up your plasma torps, gear up your induction centers, gather your creatures of the deep, for the challenge has been upgraded, I believe we have another player who indulges in the enjoyment of watching his ships being flayed, boiled, and flamed by those races of superior quality endurance. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif In regards to the game, It looks like Gold will be the Version of play, however, we'll have to wait until all of us get it and get used to it first, however, we could start a shorter Version if everyone wishes with 1.49 if everyone is willing? post your replys just some ideas mac |
