Sorry for being one of the laggards.

I'll have a Pretender up by 8pm (BST) this evening.

Update:

Maps:
(only the two runner-ups)
(lots of votes missing)
Karan: Karacan, Tauren
Karan dry Version: Daynarr, Turms, Cainehill, Chazar

Arent the inland-lakes marked as nostart-provinces to avoid a water-nation being screwed up right from the start?

I'll just add a few off the votes below (yes, I should be working instead). Currently, the un-dry people have it... I've actually decided to cast my vote with the majority for no definitive reason.

Update:

Maps:
Karan (7): Karacan, Tauren, archaeolept, alexti, Cheezeninja, esben, The_Tauren13
Karan dry Version(4): Daynarr, Turms, Cainehill, Chazar

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Not 100% sure about it but Last time when I tried to play Karan with water nation it placed me in lake surrounded by land only. Maybe it has been fixed now, but maybe someone could take a look (who has spare time) before we start, just in case.

Not to be oppositional, but I vote for the dry Version.

I think being protected from the overly serried land fray is more than enough advantage for the swimmers.

I'm not suggesting it be changed at this late date, but...

why do people like score graphs on?

Seems like it takes a lot out of the game, since pile-on is automatic, rather than learned, and then persuaded.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Well, probably most importantly - graphs can't be turned off with games on mosehansen; Illwinter hasn't given command line arguments to turn them off, iirc.

You're right though - in most games, if one nations gets too huge (twice or more as many provinces as the next largest), everyone seems to dogpile them, rapidly reducing them to the bottom of the pack.

Then again - how much of that is the graph, and how much is that the person over-expanded and never consolidated her gains?
