So how does this version play compaired with Dom2? I'll be ordering this week unless a credible source (You guys) convince me Dom3 isn't worth the money.

Its worth it and so much more. Possible reasons for fast ulmish learning: rainbow pretender, indy mages, research items or merc mages.
