Is the server down or am I locking up every time I try to connect?

We keep having players submit turns from the 3.08 version, and that is knocking the server down. This time I'm going to try to figure out which is the offending .2h.

Meglobob has suggested going to 3.08, which is not an outlandish idea, but I'm reluctant to do that based on Turin's description of the problems. In my experience, when code has some problems that are readily apparent, there are often collateral problems that are less apparent.

It sounds like Turin is intending to get a fix out soon, and it really isn't that hard to have 2 versions of Dom3 running. Your post (here) has made it quite clear how to do that.

Server is back up. Please, everyone else use 3.06 to connect to this server and play in this game! I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but as BigDisAwesome's post makes clear (link), Dom3 does support playing 2 different versions on the same machine.

This is probably the best choice. Because I imagine the game will explode if we go to 3.08, someone equips two helmets then we use the fixed version of worth heroes.

I am surprised the fix is not out yet, should take about 5 minutes to do, even for a mod that size. You just use a word doc program, find all instances of the one bitmask, and replace it with the other.

I just noticed Helheim's forge as gone...wonder who dispelled it?

It would be nice to get a message telling you about those important events. I assume it went this turn and not last turn or whenever?

It went down last turn I think.

That sounds right - who do we congratulate, btw? Anyone care to take the credit?

Out of character: Any chance of everyone getting their turns in tonight? With all the restarts our last turn hosted more than 48hrs ago (I think).

I can't seem to connect (with 3.06). Is it down for anyone else?
