I dunno... I will have to mull it over.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I'm not wrenching the works, am I? Or was this something you were hoping for, Fyron?

What are the actual classes running at this point, and is there further background to the campaign? I'm just trying to get some bearings.

Fyron February 2nd, 2005 07:04 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Most of our original party was quite new to D&D. I only played a rogue because the starting lineup had no thieving skills at all. You can have it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

We have: Lae'nial, an elven wizard; Shaorin, a psion of some forgotten race; Rasorow, a ranger/cleric (I think...) that is either human or half-elven; Draknor, an ever-drunk dwarven fighter; another ranger of some name that I forgot (he was Randall's PC before he took over as DM); and my elven rogue, Sulimo Mandrallorn. Oh, and there is that lonely human paladin Homus that keeps following us everywhere... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Oh and am I starting level 1 and playing catch-up, or do I get some bonus points so I don't die taking my first step? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Your character can start at the same level as everyone else, which is 5th.

RudyHuxtable February 2nd, 2005 09:02 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Okay great. I'll put in the feats and skills, some starting equipment and you and I can iron out the rest of the details on chat.

Rasorow February 3rd, 2005 10:15 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Rasorow is a Half-elven Ranger/Cleric and Wulf was Randallw's PC before he took up the burden of DM.....

Rasorow

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Okay, well then welcome Syndra the female half elven Rogue to the mix. I'm writing down stats and everything. She'll be completely done over the weekend. I'll finish up the details with Randall in the next day or two, and I'll be ready to go. I'll post my work schedule as soon as I have it. As it stands I've got Tuesday and Friday night off for sure.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Just a question from one who's interested, but not totally versed in RPGs. Why does it seem that player characters are always half-elven, instead of full-elven? Is there something about being full elf that makes a player character limited?

RudyHuxtable February 3rd, 2005 04:19 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Now that you mention it, it seems this group is half-elf top-heavy. However, I've played RPG's for years and have always been human or halfling, so for me it's a change http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

This game has a huge elf/human storyline so being a combination of the two is a great way to create stories and conflict.

Not really, no. They have different strengths and weaknesses than full elves. Just a different option. I personally don't see much point in being a half-elf. They are quite similar to humans in D&D, so might as well just be a human...

Well we were at 2 elves and 1 half-breed before, but with Sulimo disappearing and your half-elf arriving, it does indeed tip the balance. I'll just have to make something wacky to make it better. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/stupid.gif

Go with a non-standard race. We're at level five, there's room. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

be a halfling bard that sings half elven epics exclusively.

No, by non-standard race I mean something from one of the Monster Manuals.

RudyHuxtable February 4th, 2005 02:00 AM

Okay then. Make a Wemic that dances to Elven battle songs. AND sings halfling epics in Half-Elven.

I'm just checking that we are playing the usual time. What is it, 6pm Atlantic time on thursday?. Sorry I'm not sure what the time is in America, just here.

RudyHuxtable February 8th, 2005 01:58 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

6 pm Atlantic meaning Eastern time right? So 3pm for me on the west coast?

My character is completed, Randall, just so you know. So I'm set to go.

Fyron February 8th, 2005 02:34 AM

No, 6 PM PST.

Hey Rudy, how would you feel about playing in two games? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...art=1&vc=1

Have done 15 sessions so far and have three players.

Randallw February 8th, 2005 04:53 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Oh right, it's the players on the Atlantic coast that are 3 hrs behind.

RudyHuxtable February 8th, 2005 05:06 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Three hours ahead you mean. You're about 16 hours ahead of us here in California, right, Randall? You're on approximately the same time as Japan, no? So 6 PM on the Atlantic coast is 3 PM on the Pacific. So are we playing at 3PM or 6PM Fyron? You live "up the street" from me.

Fyron February 8th, 2005 05:21 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Playing time is Thursday, Feb. 10 at 6 PM PST.

How far "down the street" are you Rudy?

RudyHuxtable February 8th, 2005 05:25 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Smoggy, smutty, image infested Hollywood, baby! Step off ye of lesser image and international station. I live in the entertainment capital of the world! muahahahah...

So for those of you who've ever been to Hollywood, the real actual Hollywood you know it's a dung pile. So I'll put and end to my faux bragging. In fact I'll just go fart. That's what the homeless guy on Selma Avenue does.

Fyron February 8th, 2005 05:29 AM

Yeah... Hollywood has one fancy street, and that is all... Totally hype. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Frankly my favorite street in town is Melrose Avenue. Lots of great shops and the women are heavenly. Lala's is a great Argentine restaurant.

Although Boardner's is the best dive in town. A little expensive tho.

I'm just bumping to verify we're playing today at 6 PM PST?

yes, in an hour and 45 minutes.

Alright great. My template is all filled in except for inventory which I'm too lazy to input right now. Frankly I took very little, and don't know how much gold I have at this point. Everything cost about 200 GP, so if that's a problem let me know.

Did we come to a decision as to why I'm there at the monastery?

Unacceptable, Narf. Un-friggin-acceptable.

I can't be wasting my time on a game where people care about their allergies. Randallw, I'm thinking a bolt from the Gods will suffice.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I was just finishing off the map in case we got that far. Rudy, I would say your character is taking sanctuary in the monastery. She has been there for awhile. As for Narf, perhaps he has a cold from all the snow and ice.

You only mildly annoyed me. To you, allergies might be a minor thing. To me, it's what's kept me largely house-bound, rathet like a jailer that makes me sneeze my head off for a day or three if I try to have fun.

Don't worry Rasorow, RL is more important. anyhow, seeing as Narf will be absent this week for entirely understandable reasons, will we bother to organise a session?.
