See, I told you I'm terrible at this ;)

It's a set-back, I was being ambitious and yes, I came up against a stronger force than I expected. It's not as big a problem as it might have been but I'll be forced to use gladiators which will delay the building of my second fort.

I can say with relish that anyone who allies pyg will become an enemy of Nifleheim. And I hope hes my neighbor. =)

True.
You can look at research too : first turn research is often an awake pretender (there's exceptions of course, like Sauromatia which starts with a mage, but most nations starts with a regular commander and a scout).

(And high dominion is important for Awe, which is important in early SC pretenders)

:hide: I am already writing my first AAR, tentatively titled "Consequences Shmoncequences - What Harm Could A Little Joke Do?"

I only just figured out that unlike the Shahrivar I'd been testing on, this one had recruitable independents.

So, are lots of people bumping borders? Without saying who i've bumped borders with, i've already been forced into some early diplomacy due to the location of my capital vis-a-vis another player's capital.

Yea, scouts have been reporting back national forces along Ulm's borders...

Again, for diplomacy, I can be found on AIM (preferred) as 'Alehkhs,' or at athavens [at] gmail.com, or just PM's on these forums.

To receive PM's on this forum, you have to enable it in your profile.

And yes, I have encountered a neighbor or two. We will soon see if there is anything to this diplomacy of which so many of you speak.

Are we on 24h turns anymore? Seems longer.

Did we ever get a resolution on Pyg's request for time next week. I will be taking the wife and kids to my dad's, and will likely not be available from Wed PM - Fri PM. It is a big holiday here in the states. They say Wed night is the single biggest bar night of the year.
