anyone care to sell me casts of horrors at specific provinces in exchange for blood/gold/gems/items? please PM me to negotiate prices

P.S. does anyone want to sell me blood? and if so at which price?

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

can you guys please help me out? i don't expect anything to be returned or anything i just want to know what is going on.

a) i'm crazy
b) theres a bug in the game deleting my items
c) i've sent some items/gems throughout the game to people who weren't expecting to receive any items/gems
d) throw away is right next to laboratory

if c) has happened to you please say so.. you don't have to tell me what was sent or return it i just want to know if i'm going nutz. i've gone through some old turns and counted my stock of certain items and it just doesn't seem to be adding up

thanks!

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

it took me forty minutes of counting and recounting to convince myself that i deleted a dwarf hammer this past turn...

perhaps i deleted other items too ... having throw away next to "lab" and no way to doublecheck which nation msgs are sent to man is this frustrating i'm apparently not a sturdy clicker with my arthitis

24h added by WingedDog's request :)

namad February 19th, 2009 05:37 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

is this a 24hour delay? or a changing to a 72hour hosting cycle?

Zeldor February 19th, 2009 05:44 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

Just delay. Is there a need to change it to 72h? I am personally against switching to that too early. But if bigger teams want it, I can do it.

namad February 19th, 2009 06:44 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

it's just that winged dog's post was actually on the previous turn...so if he was requesting a delay it was likely in regards to the previous turn... or did he pm you something different than that post?

WingedDog February 20th, 2009 12:27 AM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

Yes, I PMed Zeldor about delay. There is a Yomictlanian national celebretion so our troops would probably be too drunk or busy with Mictlanian girs to fight our noble opponents. :)

I'd like to purchase bad things to be done to Sauromatia. I'm pretty open to any bad things that anyone wants doing - I've got some gems, items and money left, which I will hapily exchange for such bad things. In addition to turning perhaps some profit, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you hurt a player who is still viable and didn't benefit any of your other enemies, as I'm pretty well dead.

Well played Micah. I will have a post-mortem once I am full and finally dead.

Oh, how the once proud nation of Abysia has fallen!

Reduced to such mercenary actions, while in its glory days Abysia was so full of hubris that it would not even consider discussing the peaceful return of Sauromarignon's sparking waterfront lands.

And now in its defeat, Abysia publicly spreads open the legs of its treasure vault, for the sole purpose of harming the fine upstanding citizens of Sauromarignon. How shameless.

Tell you what - I'll add some fine monkey lovin' into that same pot.

And, as a freebie, I'll note that there's an Air Queen available for summoning this turn.

I am so turned on by this thread right now. :o

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

Though I'll tell you what I'm not turned on by - the current turn.

As my partner once told me, "I've got much better things to do than to agonize over submitting turns for this game when I obviously lack the tools to even phase my opponent".

Call it whining, call it whatever you want, I don't care at this point. I've never abandoned a position while I still had the capacity to do my enemies any harm at all. But really that's where it's at now. Before I just start Cloud Trapezing around in a very reckless fashion in my death throes, I'd like to offer up Lanka and Jomon to whoever might be found that can think of funny things to do while you die. Because well, that's what Lanka has left to offer, "funny things to do while you die", and I'm somehow sure that the AI could do more damage in its maniacal fashion, than I can with any clear intent, at this point.

And before anyone opens their mouth to complain, answer the question of whether you have done a single thing to directly impede the rampant and unchecked growth of Midgard. Atul's team is functioning with excellent precision, and that is neither his fault, or anything I am mad about - but Lanka has simply had too many little setbacks, and too long of a game without such a capable teammate, for me to care about at this point at all. The current state of Lanka in this game disgusts me, and I think it would be ridiculous to assume that anyone could feel anything but revulsion for actually running turns under these circumstances.

Just to make a clearer picture for those who are still skeptics- 8/8 commanders lost, and 252/263 units lost. Units killed = 5.

It's not a fight, at this point, it's a hand job, and sadly my frustration with the game runneth over. Sorry. :(

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

Yep, that was exactly my position.

Hrrrrm Its quiet in here. Isn't it about time for someone to start some new propaganda or begging for help or something? Maybe Bogarus will try to sell his mom for a few blood slaves? I'd like to introduce the new Abyssian minister of Information, Saeed al-Sahaf. Take it away, Saeed.

The cowardly Caelumites are doomed! The lands of Abyssia will be their fiery grave - their skulls will bleach in the hot sun, their bones will crack beneath our hammers, their brains will leak out all over the furnace floor. Even a cowardly retreat (which is in their nature) will not save them now - they are so utterly doomed.

anyone selling/trading any blood/astral/nature? for other gemtypes/gold?

anyone need any forging services performed? anything up to cons6? robes of magi ring of wizardry, what have you?

anyone who isn't even my neighbor want to sign some sorta nap3 now that teleporting scs are probably starting to get more common?

also... EA absyia don't talk smack and then stale... at least script the final battle... i mean... you talked smack! also do you have any awesome items you want to sell at low prices?

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

i had 23commanders die in a single battle
i was victorious

a lot of things went wrong for me but this battle was incredibly epic and cool i'm not quite sure who came out ahead in the battle but i'm going to have to say i came out behind despite retaking my capital... even if everything he had died he might've come out ahead of me yet he managed to have a couple things successfully route because i was too foolish to cut off avenues for routing

i don't think i've ever lost so many commanders all at once. most of them were mages. i hate how fortress capturing battles never show the stats of kills... cause its kinda hard to count manually

on another note someone with a goofy name got into the HoF by mistake

i've probably had like 50mages die this game already my research with utgard was probably higher on turn 15

Tough break for Abysia, when they didn't need a tough break... out of the 20 Anointeds and etc commanders he had sent on a non-so-secret mission to inflict some last-gasp damage on the Sauromarignonian empire, a lone Earth Attack eliminated his decked-out Fire Storm caster (who loyally followed orders and cast Fire Storm on the Earth Elemental, cranking the Anointed's fatigue into the stratosphere).

The Abysian pretender narrowly escaped a similar encounter with an evil manifestation.

Thinking of pretenders and manifestations, EA Caelum's god wannabe has been having nightmares just recently.

namad February 24th, 2009 10:07 AM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

let that be a lessen to me ... ALWAYS make sure to cut off all retreats routes or the enemy is going to escape with half their scs alive even though you lose dozens of your own mages!

also i think that it might be possible that when a commander loses items due to shapeshifting that no one can take them? is this true? because i got way fewer items from the dai oni dead than i expected

might have to try buying more horrors the turns that had more horrors cast on them seemed to be luckier for me

also... DAMN you gem wastage AI! i got attacked by a single commander when i had 100-150troops and ~50commanders... and they chose to waste gems... causing some key spells (given how the battle turned out those spells wouldn't've mattered at all and some mistakes in my scripting were probably my biggest setback) to go uncast for the real fight shesh... whenever you want them to use the gems they don't and whenever you don't want them to they do!

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

Well Ermor had an anomaly happen this turn. I should be sitting here looking at a bunch of reanimated undead in my capital and instead... Not a damn thing. All priests are still set to reanimate and I had no kind of funky random event happen in my capital that would have prevented reanimation. So something just got ****ed up in the turn.

I'm not going to demand a rollback or anything. But if it happens again next turn you bet your *** I will.

vfb February 24th, 2009 08:52 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

Are you sure they are set to reanimate longdead horse (I assume that's what you want) and not accidentally soulless (which would give you nothing if there are no corpses in your capitol)?

PsiSoldier February 24th, 2009 09:34 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

I changed nothing.. they should have done exactly as they had been doing.

PsiSoldier February 24th, 2009 09:49 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

In fact None of my priests reanimated this turn including ones in other provinces. As I told you in a PM VFB how many troops I had in the garrison in that one province... and it is exactly the same as what I had told you it was last turn..

Ive gone back through and re-ordered all priests to reanimate undead to see if that works. I had one or two that had become feeble minded in their old age and lacked priestly skills to reanimate but were still on reanimate orders. That is the only thing I can think of that may have somehow messed things up in some odd way. so I just put a fever fetish on him to kill him off. But those one or two mage's have been that way for a while now so I dont know why it would have all of the sudden caused this which makes me really doubt the theory that they have caused this hiccup.

atul February 25th, 2009 02:38 AM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

I think I've seen every now and then in several MPs that MA Ermor player starts to complain about not being able to reanimate. No idea why that happens, though. We shouldn't be anywhere near unit limit yet...

chrispedersen February 25th, 2009 04:20 AM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

I submitted this same bug to illwinter. Near as I can figure we were at about 10% of the theoretical max unit number.

PsiSoldier February 25th, 2009 06:33 AM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

Well ****.. is it a temporary thing or what? If I cant reanimate anymore I may as well drop out of the ****ing game.

atul February 25th, 2009 10:10 AM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

IIRC in previous cases it has been a temporary thing that goes away after a while. Sorry, can't say anything else than try to hang in there.

chrispedersen February 25th, 2009 11:42 AM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

In our case, it went 3-4 turns with no signs of abating, so we ended the game.

archaeolept February 25th, 2009 12:22 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

i might suggest having a rollback - a full set of new turns would likely solve the problem. perhaps only a new copy of ermor's turn.

Zeldor February 25th, 2009 12:31 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

Rollbacks have issues and they tempt people to abuse that. Of course I can do it, but I'd prefer not. I'd suggest waiting one more turn and doing rollback if the problem occurs again. We could do it multiple times then, if necessary, until bug goes away.

archaeolept February 25th, 2009 12:33 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

fair enough, but if the problem persists you'll have to do a double rollback, I would think.

WingedDog February 25th, 2009 05:53 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

I would like to repeat my request for 72h hosting interval, as making my turn and coordinating actions with my teammate now takes almost all my spare time, and I really want to have some for something other than gaming.

Zeldor February 25th, 2009 05:54 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

I am still rather against it, unless some other big players want that too.

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

I think as part of the Ermor freespawn bug, I also didn't get my free Mechanical Man from the Factory. All you other Factory owners, did you get your Mechanical Man this month? Not that this is as significant game-wise as Ermor not getting his freespawn, but it might narrow down the cause of the bug.

PsiSoldier February 25th, 2009 09:56 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

I'm Kind of against a change to 72 hours even though I work 10 hours a day 7 days a week currently. However I have no problem with at least temporarily changing things.

I may have personal issues in the next few days that prevent me from taking my turns as I will be in the process of moving to a new house and I may loose my internet at my current location for a few days soon. I'm not entirely sure when it will be cut off here. I should hopefully be moved in to the new place by monday and have internet at that time although as I said I'm working 10 hours a day and driving 2 hours to and from work so I have little time to take care of things like getting the internet hooked up.

atul February 25th, 2009 11:59 PM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

Hm. I'm not 100% certain, but it might be I didn't get my site summons (from "enter site" command) this turn either. Other people with mages sitting on sites seeing this too?

If that thing is persistant it's really bad for Ermor. What did we do wrong to earn this? :-/

I beleive you celebrate March 8 in Poland? If other big players would help me to buy presents for my mother, girlfriend, all my female friends and to organise party I don't mind we keep it 48 hours. :)
Seriously, all this week I had to sit in front of my monitor up to 3 a.m. in order to make my turn, and it really becomes annoying. I don't want to become a slave of the game.

chrispedersen February 26th, 2009 01:05 AM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

I believe the only way this bug will be fixed is if you send it in to illwinter. I suggest you upload the game files.

In our case, turning back the turn multiple times did not help. The error reoccurred.

Now, if you have reached the maximum number of units, I dont' believe there is any fixing it. However, usually when you reach the maximum number of units if you summon a unit, you will for a short period get mixed up units - not nothing. And it isn't only freespawns and site critters - its every recruitment.

It might help if you mention that this appears similar to the bug that appeared in glory, and which they were able to resolve.

atul February 26th, 2009 02:42 AM

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]

I myself am content with 48h hosting that keeps the pace up, but then again it appears my team's co-operation isn't that stellar. What with we both sniping each other's raiders with remote attacks spells and so on. Guess no lunch is free.

Anyway if people want 72h hosts fine by me. This turn's nearly done by all but how about switching after host and sending the files to Illwinter for bug hunting?
