Those must have been the Celestial Apostates, a mercenary company. Given that they are no longer on the mercenary board, I'm going to have to assume that they are now KIA.

Re: The New Game: The Revenge

The game is currently waiting on the Tujish and Truperian Empires.

Actually, you know, I find this kind of pace somewhat relaxing. If anyone(such as Mivayan) doesn't feel like going on a 5-hour gruelathon for the night, feel free to call a break after maybe 2 or 3 hours, and we can continue plodding along like this. It helps me write my AAR submissions, not to mention I can spend all day psychoanalyzing you all for what you'll do next. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Now we're just waiting for Truper, which will probably be the Last turn before we kick off the weekend sessions.

If you try to limit it to 2-3 hour sessions for the next game, I think I can make it. I still haven't tried the world map, though. I guess I better try that out tonight and this weekend to make sure my download of the map worked and to get a little familiar with it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif .

For purpose of planning the next game, if you get one going, I am available from 1700 to 2200 EST weekdays, and 0800 to 2000 EST on weekends. I would still like to limit the game sessions to 2-3 hours a day though if possible.

Re: The New Game: The Revenge

I doubt there will be a weekend session - the living nations have concluded that you just can't fight free troops on this scale. While I killed 500 carrion... things over the past few turns, that wasn't really accomplishing anything. I doubt I've had 500 troops over the entire course of the game...

I learned a few things, and had fun, but I've concluded that the world map is just too limiting. And hats off to Norfleet and Tuijin - their strategy for the conditions is perfect, and in fact, in my opinion, undefeatable.

Obligatory excuse from a loser: remind me to ask for a restart when the order bug hits at the beginning of a monster game - when one puts 200 nation design points into order and growth, and doen't get full benefit from it from turns 2 through 21, ones trajectory is severely impaired...

Well, like the saying goes, it ain't over till the fat lady sings. Free carrion things are probably not as great as you'd believe: You have, after all, killed them by the hundreds, without even deliberately trying to exploit their weaknesses.

Ultimately, death is the bride of the warrior.

Ok, I am giving up, went computer controlled.

At least I got to almost kill one other player http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

I really should stick to smaller maps.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Good to know. I'm thinking of planning the next game with a marathon weekend for kickoff(because everyone knows the start of a game flies quickly and is drudgerous otherwise, with nothing to fiddle with), followed by lapsing into quickhost on 2-3 turns a day.

In the meantime, barring complications, it looks like the Revenge will continue its course tonight, for what may be the final showdown. Or something.
