Which one? Is it good? I've been thinking of getting one from these guys: http://www.profantasy.com/

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Yes, it is Campaign cartographer pro. I don't actually have it yet. I ordered it a few weeks ago but when i rang up today to order the enhanced psionics book they said they had tried to call me today as it had come in. When we started i got the demo, in fact used it when I showed you that map of the glacier.

there's one called AutoRealm, which is good. And free.

Fyron March 13th, 2005 08:06 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Due to it being Finals week and all, I will not be able to participate in this week's session.

After this week, my schedule is changing. Perhaps we should discuss new time slots that could include more people? What times are good for you guys?

Any. I'm really flexible thanks to being a freelancer.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Fyron, are you saying you can't set up the server?

Fyron March 14th, 2005 03:10 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I could set up the server in the morning and hope it keeps running all day. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Online D&D Gaming

You could probably also schedule it to start 30 minutes before the session and leave the computer in sleep mode, to wake up later. Or, if you are using OpenRPG, I could arrange for my machine to do so.

Randallw March 16th, 2005 03:48 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Fyron, I gathered when you made up your Thri'Keen character you had Savage species.

[whisper]Could you give me just the details for the reptilian template [/whisper]

Server is up and running.

Are we on for today?

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Dudes, the BLACK COMPANY novels just received their own rpg setting. It uses the D20 rules as a foundation, but changes enough to make it a 'good' game system.

it looks superb, so far.

Randallw March 17th, 2005 09:16 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Without Fyron and Douglas that just leaves Rudy and Narf. Do you want to play. We could keep on in the dungeon or perhaps I can make up a one off for you both?

Edit: I suppose we should start discussing a different time

RudyHuxtable March 17th, 2005 09:40 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I wouldn't mind playing just me and Narf. That might be fun. We could also explore the "elf" conflict a bit.

Randallw March 17th, 2005 09:56 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I can't think of a one-off for the elf conflict. I do have plans to cover it in another campaign. It's hard to think of some way to involve it for just one session.

Edit: are you around Narf to voice an opinion?.

RudyHuxtable March 17th, 2005 10:03 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Ahh okay. Well, it was an idea. I'm up for anything!

Randallw March 17th, 2005 10:52 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I've thrown together a side mission. Might not take the whole session but it's something to do I guess.

RudyHuxtable March 17th, 2005 10:54 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I'll be there. Is Narf definitely coming?

Randallw March 17th, 2005 10:58 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Don't know, haven't heard from him. He does from time to time, and I do not mean to be critical, forget and arrive a bit late.

RudyHuxtable March 17th, 2005 11:03 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Okay well I'll hang in the server for a little while and see if he shows up. Send him a PM maybe?

Randallw March 17th, 2005 11:42 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

ah well, no game today. I'd like to thank Fyron for setting up the server, Douglas for telling us he was unavailable, and Rudy for showing up. Don't worry I lay no blame, things come up, it just wasn't to be.

I totally forgot. If it makes you feel any better, I feel like a jerk and an idiot. I'm putting it down on my calander for the rest of the year.

Randallw March 18th, 2005 04:23 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Don't be so quick to mark your calendar, we still need to find a more accomodating time. Other than that don't worry too much about it. Nothing against Rudy but there would only have been 2 of you anyway. Before I forget, my Niece/Nephew is born in a few weeks, so I will be going away for awhile at that time for the christening. I don't know, just because you filmed the wedding they expect you to film everything else http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I've been working on my map (I already had the continent shape from the demo). Only problem so far is I don't think I can export part of the main map to work on regional maps. Anyway here's an example from the southeast of the map. You can see the elf forest, a duchy I have plans for and the mountains where the Dwarves live, and right down in the corner is part of the desert the Thri'Keen come from (by the way I already had all this planned). Don't worry about the quality, I reduce it to save space.

Randallw March 20th, 2005 07:12 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Would those players originating on my world like to elaborate on what country they are from, or do you mind me creating everything. This would mean the Thri'Keen from the Sunblessed wastes in the south, and Shaorins psionic land. I'm not forgetting Rudy, but I already have background for the Refuge Forest.

Fyron March 21st, 2005 02:12 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Since we don't really know anything about the campaign world, it would be hard to pick a home country.

Randallw March 21st, 2005 03:38 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Well the idea is that I place whatever you come up with on the map somewhere. At the moment I have the South in mind. I already have a vast desert the Thri'Keen might come from, and I had in mind that Shaorins Psionic character is from an indian type land where they have psionics instead of magic. A sort of introspective country with the Psionic masters meditating in their towers while the sun shines down on the land. Other than that, has anyone given consideration to a new time?.

Still can't do sunday. Other than that, any time.

Randallw March 23rd, 2005 02:01 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

This Friday is Good Friday and so I need to check Mass times. So far the only one I know of is 3PM, right in the middle of our usual session. As we havn't decided on anew time either I don't know if we can do anything this week. I would also like to place a reminder that I will be away for a week when my niece/nephew is born. I plan to come home early so I can do my turns, and also work on Beta if I am chosen.

Randallw March 28th, 2005 10:34 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

There hasn't been much discussion about a new time, apart from Narf saying he can't do Sundays. Does this mean thursday/Friday is still ok?.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I also have a game saturday from 11:00 AM PST to 1:00 PM PST.

* Sorry about that, Jack, but it's kinda hard to remember I still have a game, sometimes.

I'm free pretty much anytime after 6 eastern time on weekdays and all day Sunday. I'm unavailable Saturdays.

RudyHuxtable March 29th, 2005 03:14 PM

Anytime except Tuesday nights 6PM and on. Other than that, done.

Randallw March 30th, 2005 09:27 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Daylight savings ended...or started, I forget which, anyway the point is the time is not exactly the same for me. Don't worry it doesn't make much difference, just means it starts an hour earlier for me. So far we can't do saturday, sundays, or tuesday.

Hello,

Eastern time Zone

I am good Monday - thursday 6pm est until 10pm est

Saturday from noon until about 7pm

Fyron, how is monday or wednesday?.

Fyron April 4th, 2005 03:37 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Monday (ie: today) from 3:30 to 6:30 PM PST would be doable. I have class until 3, so starting right at 3 doesn't really work. Can start whenever I get home. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif Wednesday is bad. Thursdays is doable after 4, but that might exclude Rasorow. Friday is bad.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

ok then, no game today (1. I didn't prepare and 2. I didn't log on until a little while ago) but we can continue at the agreed time from next week. Then however I will be away visiting my new nephew for a week or two. I got some pictures of the new baby and although I am not allowed to show them I want to describe the first of them. The first picture of Gabriel (yes Narf that's his name, and his parents probably don't even know what PA is) is when he is about 1 second old. he looks like a chestburster (my sister has medical problems that meant it was a C-section). A big purple thing covered in blood being pulled out of an incision.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I need to work out exactly what time our session is tomorrow. I will post this message then check the time stamp to see what the time is in relation to here.

Edit: ok 7.41pm est (which I believe is 4.41pm PST) is 9.41 AM here, which means I will start tomorrow at 8.30 am. Seems like a big change from before where we started 4 hours later.

Fyron April 10th, 2005 09:45 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

The previous sessions were at 5:00 PM, right? The new one will be 1.5 to 2 hours earlier, tomorrow. I'll load up the server in the morning, but won't be getting there til around 3:30 PM PST or so. Maybe a little sooner, who knows.
