15 of 16 turns in.

Waiting for Vanheim now.
Wouldn't Ermor be at least slightly happy if Vanheim stales? ;-P

Have not had any response from Vanheim.

Just to make sure: Do you guys all accept some kind of rule to be put in place to keep things going, or at least let everyone know if a turn will be late?
So:
- I will send an email and/or PM after you have not sent your turn for about 48 hours.
- Then, if nothing is heard from you after another 24 hours, turn will be hosted anyway.

I have no problem with people having other things to do from time to time, as long as we know what's going on. It just seems that people suddenly stop playing without giving notice (still heard nothing from our initial Oceania player), and I wouldn't want to wait for that...

Agreed?

If I don't hear from Vanheim tonight, I'll host the turn Wednesday morning, around 8 a.m. (GMT+1). Then it would be 4 days since our latest hosting.

maybe looking for a replacement for them? or even restart for me at least.

A total of 72 hours without any word or warning seems reasonable to me. Maybe look for a replacement before they stale a second time? We did let Oceania stale twice, though.

I don't advise a restart; some person flaking hardly seems reason to throw out the weeks we've been playing so far.

Re: Casual PBEM (looking for players)

I like a fairly rigid hosting schedule. If someone misses the deadline without prior warning that they will do so, then tough luck. A stale is rarely fatal. Multiple stales, well, usually when someone doesn't do their turns on time it's going to stay that way - until they drop out completely that is.

There are exceptions to this, certainly, but delaying the game a lot is generally bad.

I agree... I think 48 hours + 24 hours is more than fair. In terms of replacements, I think staling multiple times (with nothing said) is ground for this. I see no need to start again, however.
