Hey, let's compile a chronology of the name change history of this thread, so that the wisdom and knowledge within it can be viewed in context of the topic name when it is studied by future generations. The search function of this forum, using DavidG's technique, is handy for this. Also, we need a national holiday, "Saint Ruatha's Day", to commemorate the day the SHOE was thrown. We'll also have a huge gold statue of the Great Ruatha, SHOE in hand, about to throw it.

how about having the show already thrown and held in the air by faith. like the statue of arthur dent and the floating teacup in the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. i think it was in one of the audio adaptions and not the main 5 books.

Let's have a rotating list of dedicated disciples taking turns, each concentrating for 1 - 2 hours at a time. We'll always have at least two guys suspending the shoe at any moment, so that we have a backup in case the first guy somehow gets distracted, or whatever. Being chosen for shoe levitation duty will be considered a huge honor, and only the most loyal and dedicated followers will be allowed to do it. It's a huge responsibility! If the guys (oh, what a terrible thought!) ever let the shoe drop, it could precipitate a crisis of the faith!

OK, so I'm walking though the enchanted forest the other day, when I see this little guy sitting on a tree branch. He's only a few inches tall, and he's got little gossamer wings and a little magic wand. Anyway, we get talking and I ask him, you know, what's the deal with the wings and the wand and the only being 3 inches tall and everything, and he tells me he's a fairy. Then he says it's pretty crap being a fairy because being so small people sometimes don't notice him but then again the magic powers are pretty neat and sort of make up for it. And we're talking some more and then I ask him his name, and he says his name's Nuff.

Fair enough, I says.
