And then turning into a large dragon. O.o

Yeah, he's higher level than I was when we cast that so he could become a bigger dragon. Plus he's an NPC so it's automatically exempt from munchikinism or something.

Is there really a safty margin with Disintergrate?

As I recall, the Disintegrate that killed Kaylin did 90-something damage. Disintegrate is not technically save-or-die, it's save-or-take LOTS of damage. Specifically, 2d6 per caster level (max 40d6). The average for a 20th level caster is 40 * 3.5 = 140 damage, which you could actually survive in only a few more levels with good hp rolls and a full +6 con item. Also, that's the average damage and at maximum caster level; lucky rolls (for you) could make it a bit less, and each caster level below 20 lowers the average by 7. And then there's the bonus to fort saves from constitution, which gives you a better chance of reducing it to a mere 5d6 regardless of caster level.

Kibin does a full sneak attack round on Violist, for an average of about 75 damage. Instant kill!

And Kibin discovers that 75 damage just isn't enough any more, as Kaylin just got an Amulet of Health +6 and now has over 90 hp http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif. She doesn't actually have it yet, but I seem to recall Violist agreeing when I suggested it a while back and we are just outside the magic shop.

Hahaha, did Stisnera have a similarly charming personality? I sense a wizardly connection...

Stisnera was a psion IIRC. Not that I was paying a whole lot of attention back then, but I checked the thread occasionally and sometimes pointed out some apparently overlooked rules, such as the fact that a 1st level psion can't put all 4 or 5 daily power points into a single manifestation of Mind Thrust for a 5d10 damage attack at level 1.

That just gives you 45 health. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif Besides, those thingies are expensive.

Hehe, I've got the cash. I was budgeting to go wild with the buying scrolls, but the stash of spellbooks at the Archmage's saved me about 20,000 GP. And... Hmm... maximised delayed blast fireball... 90 damage, and you're vulnerable to fire... 135 damage. Naaah, I'm not that mean.

Hmm... Psion, Wizard, they both use their minds. Theoretically...

Gonna have to miss - Air filter filled up, can't find replacements, currently sleeping on couch, can't think, stayed up too late, something I need to be awake for tommorrow - Hopefully. Sorry.
