In the 3.5 book, there's rules for wands with 1-5 'uses per day'.

Yep, a wand would also fit in the 'quick fix' he's looking for.

Guy really needs to get a clue. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

howdy all. Remember me? No? Well, there used to be this dwarf named "Draknor" ... Unfortunately, he died in a tragic hard drive failure. Along with all my D&D progs and files. And most of my free time. Just thought I'd let you all know that I'm still alive and interested....

Fyron July 3rd, 2005 04:02 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Somebody still has a copy of Draknor's file. I don't recall who anymore though. There is always the html output version from which the file could be rebuilt.

IF we can all agree on a time then we can get started again. I'm usually available (although this might change for a day or two each week). Only real problem is if the time translates to too early for me.

I've got a Draknor Burntbeard, Fighter 5. Don't know how complete or recent.

How early is too early? Think you can reliably get up by 10am your time? That would be 8pm here. Let's see, if I've got the time zones right, how about:

8pm Saturday Eastern time
5pm Saturday Pacific time
10am Sunday Tasmania, Australia time

Would that work for everyone?

We're all still level 5, so that's got to be quite recent.

I'd rather not commit to anything on Saturdays.

Same time, or maybe an hour later, on Friday?

Fri and Sat nights aren't good for me. I work, and then have my son on what's left of the weekend. Like I said, I'm back to no free time.

Draknor will just have to sit on the sidelines for a while.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I think I can handle 10am, got to consider daylight savings though. I just couldn't get up at 7.30 for Narf though, mostly cause I kept forgetting, but if I'm DM I'm more likely to remember.

That's 10am tuesday morning. I think I can handle that. Bit of a disclaimer though, I am applying for some volunteering work to gain experience, don't know yet what days they may force me to do.

We could do one of those other days just the same as Monday.

I find myself with an appointment tomorrow so for this week at least I can't play tomorrow.

We could do Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

ok that gives me a bit more time to get ready. I'll try to get set up by wed/thur.

Well, my plans for Tuesday just got shifted to Wednesday as the only alternative when a conflict came up, so we'd better make it Thursday.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I believe so, yes. By changing my computers clock I find that is exactly 5 hours ago tomorrow. So if I get it wrong it's not for want of checking and something to do with daylight savings.

1 and a half hours to go until the planned resumption of our campaign. I hope everyone shows up.

Next session tomorrow? In 32 hours?

Randallw July 17th, 2005 11:07 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I thought we had settled on Thursday/Friday. I know that was just because you were busy last week, but I had thought it was a set day. Anyway it takes me some time to set up for each session (checking rules, monsters, making the map (which I discovered I forgot to save)). I'm busy for the next day or two anyway.

douglas July 17th, 2005 11:42 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Ok, so it's Thursday/Friday on a regular basis. I was just checking because I thought last week was a one-time difference from the planned regular Monday/Tuesday time.

Incidentally I added up the xp for the Remorhaz, the shadows and the asp. By my calculations they all add up to 1575 for each player.

Our average party level is 6.75 because Syndra is level 12. (12 + 3*5) / 4 = 6.75

douglas July 22nd, 2005 12:50 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Um, no, Syndra is level 5. I think that 12 was his initiative for the round.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Oh, nevermind then. Still way too much experience IMO given the relative ease of the encounters... oh well. WOTC wants us to rush through the levels, I guess. Whatever happened to the old axiom of 3-4 adventures per level? :-\

People got bored with taking months to level up despite playing every week.

I've got a local game going that plays every week for about 5-8 hours, and so far we've levelled up about once a month, which seems quite reasonable to me.

Anyway, less than an hour to the next session, just in case anyone forgot.

In future I am going to make sure I remember to password the game room. I will stay with "Ace" as the password. I actually considered it last week but didn't want trouble with people forgetting what we use. We never had trouble with guests before so I didn't think it was necessary http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Power word kill would make more sense if it worked by HD. As it is, it's more usefull against wizards - The same ones who invented it.

Considering Narf won't be there and I may well be stiff and sneezing, if it's ok with everyone I'll postpone the next session till next week. I have a few things to do anyway and might have to do them tomorrow if a delivery doesn't come today (I'm waiting for the movers)

I have a problem, and when I have a problem we have a problem. I cannot connect to the game server. This may be related to the fact that I also cannot connect to SE to upload stuff, although I can get SE in my browser.

Fyron August 18th, 2005 09:11 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

The game server is entirely unrelated to SEnet. It should be connectable now. Though I don't know what is wrong with the FTP on SEnet... If you send me the files you want to use, I can stick them on my local server as a temporary measure.

Crap, I've been summoned again. It's been like, what, 3 years since the last time. Since the last time I've been considering getting out of it because I'm half deaf, so I can't hear the judge or witnesses. I'll just have to see how it goes.
